Java IDE Netbeans does not open

After upgrading to Mountain Lion OS X 10.8 Java IDE Netbeans 7.0 does not open anymore.
I've also tried to install latest Netbeans version 7.2, but installation is denied.
How to overcome this issue?

Hi,
I've solved the issue. My fault, Java SE 6 was not activated after changing to Mountain Lion. When I checked the Java-Settings in the utility programs folder the system told me to install Java SE 6 first, which I did by clicking the ok-button.
After this action everything  runs as expected.
I also installed Netbeans 7.2 following the on-screen instructions when trying to open a program which was not downloaded from App store.

  • "package java.xml.registry does not exist" error in NetBeans

    Hi all
I'm using netbeans for developing webservices and and have to use JAXR. I have downloaded and installed jwsdp1.5.
When I view the source code for the JAXR sample java files that accompany the java EE tutorial in the NetBeans IDE Source Editor, I get the error : package java.xml.registry does not exist.
However, the release note for NetBeans says that it supports JAXR.
Also, when I compile and run the same files using DOS and the ant command, the files work.
Can someone please tell me what to do and how to work on JAXR clients in NetBeans because the Help files don't have any documentation on it nor does the NeBeans Field Guide?

Do you have the jaxrpc-api.jar and jaxprc-ri.jar in your classpath?
    They are in <wspack1.1 installation>/jaxrpc-1.0.2/lib

Where did you access a clean copy of Java SE 6?  The link at adobe for archicval plug-ins is a dead download (and it doesn't appear to contain Java SE 6.).

  • E71 default browser does not open links

    Hello everybody,
I am facing this strange behavior on my E71 default browser.
Say that I go to the google page and look for something, e.g.. Java.
I click the search button and the browser displays a list of results.
However, when I click on any of the links, the browser does not open it!!!
I also need to mention that it used to work some time ago. Unfortunately I am able to tell you what I have done/installed in order to break it.
Any ideas would be appreciated. My firmware is updated to the latest E71 available: 501.21.001
Thank you very much and kind regards,

Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    *Firefox 22.0: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible, to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

  • Dreamweaver CC does not open?

My new Dreamweaver CC does not open after installing.  I am working on a Macbook Pro, OS X Yosemite, Version 10.10.1
There is no error message just a brief flash and nothing.  Both photoshop and illustrator CC work fine.  They open up without a problem.  Does anyone have any ideas?

Which version of Java?  DW needs Java SE6 but I think Yosemite ships with Java 8.

I got a new Macbook pro in March and transferred all of my old files into the new macbook from my old one. But ever since then, my iPhoto just does not open up. It says 'error' every time I try to open it, but I am still able to attach the iPhotos saved to emails. Help! How do I get my iPhoto back?

    Thanks, Sig.
The old computer is a 2.6 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
The new one is a 2.3 GHz intel core i7
In going over this, thanks to "tallking it out" with you, I did discover the Text Edit problem.  Because I've still been unable to get the new computer text size (fonts or whatever) to match the old computer, I did not notice that the curser is now different--the line midway down the curser has to be placed on the line I am working upon, otherwise the edits go elsewhere on the page.  Now, with a bit of difficulty, I am able to get Text Edit to work correctly.
If you have any ideas as to why my menu bar and Text Edit type are still so slow, I'd love to have them.
(I went through the process you suggested earlier, re my Trackpad preferences, and found no improvement.)

  • Firefox previously worked fine but after installing new version does not open. Opens in the same day that I install it but not after restarting computer.

I just installed the new version of firefox. My firefox worked fine with the previous version. But the new version only works on the day I install it but the next time i start my computer it does not work. It does not open after clicking the icon. I even uninstalled it and then reinstalled it but again the same thing happened. I have no idea about plug ins etc. but I did not install any new ones.

This is a very interesting issue. Let's start with trying [[safe mode]], [[managing profiles|new profile]], and [http://firefox.com/all-older.html installing an older version] - if one of these works, please don't do the rest and reply here.

  • BEx workbook does not open from portal when excel is already opened

    Hi all,
When I go to the portal and open a BEx workbook from there while excel is already open, then the workbook does not open.
When I close excel and then open the BEx workbook it all works fine.
I do not get any error: just nothing happens.
Any idea how to solve this?
    Versions:
    BI 3.5
    Excel 2003
    ADDITIONAL INFO
I found this only happens when excel is open with a cell in edit mode. Whenc I then open BEx from the portal I get the error 'please install suitable version'.
Let my know if you have any advice.

  • I am running a TRIAL VERSION of Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended and Bridge does not open.  Help?

I am running a TRIAL VERSION of Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended on MAC and Bridge does not open.  It did open when I first downloaded it - but now a black question mark is over the BR icon and it does not open up.  Any ideas from anyone?

    Hi Steve -
I just thought it was interesting and helpful to me to learn that the icon for Bridge does not appear anywhere.  Not in Application Folder.  Not in the Finders Directory Files.  I see your point - if I could locate that icon - I'd be set by dragging it onto my DOCK and launching it from there.
So - I'm assuming I need to uninstall CS6.   Please list all the steps for me to uninstall so that I don't miss any CS6 files.
When I search in FINDER for CS6 uninstall- I see two icons -  red adobe "UNINSTALL ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS6" (both files are identical)  Under KIND they both say Alias - with two different dates they were last opened (in November - few minutes apart).  Is that what I use to uninstall completely all the files related to PS CS6 Extended as well as Bridge?
Do I need to DEACTIVATE ANYTHING ANYWHERE?
DOES ANYTHING NEED TO GO INTO TRASH.
I just want to make sure 'everything' related to CS6 Extended is off my computer and out of all the files.  In the event i want to re-install - naturally I don't want to run into any conflicting 'issues'.
Do you think if I reinstall I will run into this same problem again (BR not launching)?  Is there anything I can do to prevent it?  I note on the forums - going a few years back - that there have been a lot of issues related to this same problem - even in other versions of the Creative Suite.  Is Adobe doing anything to rectify this problem for us Photoshop CS Suite lovers or is all their focus just going into CC?
Thank you so much for trying to help me resolve this issue.  It is very frustrating to have an Adobe product that is not completely functional.  Especially when the Creative Suites are so expensive.  I appreciate all the time you've put into this issue.

  • Mini Bridge does not open in InDesign after installing 8.0.2 upgrade

This question was previously posted in the InDesign forum (http://forums.adobe.com/message/5833991#5833991), but it was suggested that I should cross post it here.
I installed InDesign CS6 upgrade 8.0.2.  Now I cannot open Mini Bridge.
If Bridge is not already open,
         - selecting File | Browse in Bridge...  or clicking on the Bridge button: Bridge opens - good!
         - control-click on the Bridge button: I get a Reset Settings error dialog - NOT good!  I cancelled this and Bridge opened fullscreen okay.
         - alt-click on the Bridge button: Two Bridge applications opened fullscreen! - NOT good!
         - shift-click on the Bridge button: Bridge opens, but Mini Bridge does not! - NOT good!
    If Bridge is already open,
         - selecting File | Browse in Bridge... or clicking on the Bridge button: the ruler bars dim and nothing else happens! - NOT good!
         - control-click on the Bridge button: Bridge opens maximized! - good!
         - alt-click on the Bridge button: the already opened Bridge, plus a new Bridge, both open! - is this normal?
         - shift-click on the Bridge button: the ruler bars dim and Mini Bridge does not open! - NOT good!
I have tried resetting the preferences in Bridge and rebooted after doing so.
My main concern is that I cannot get Mini Bridge to open at all.  I can ignore the other problems mentioned above, if I can just get Mini Bridge to open.
This problem does not exist in Photoshop CS6.
I have restored my C: drive from backup twice and tried the upgrade a total of three times.  The results are the same each time.
Does anyone have any idea what is causing my problem and how I might correct it?  I am running 64-bit Windows 7 Professional SP1, 3.40 GHz Intel Core i7-3770 CPU, 32.0 GB installed memory.

Sorry to hear that, forgot to mention the resetting of preferences in InDesign.
Have you also tried that (ctrlAltShift while starting ID)?
I'm afraid I have not really more ideas and I am a Mac user and don't know anything relevant about Windows.
And ultimate you have of course the option to reinstall CS6 after an official uninstall in combination with the Adobe Clean Tool. But before doing so read all instructions and have a proper back up of all relevant customized settings, workspaces etc.

  • Web.show_document does not open browser anymore

We upgraded our production database over the weekend from 10g to 11g. When it was still 10g, our Forms application used to open a PDF embedded in IE. After moving to 11g, it does not open IE anymore and shows no error messages. Clicking the button with the web.show_document command does nothing. Our test database is also 11g but does not have this problem. What could have gotten wrong?

I can't explain why it seems to started failing all of a sudden. We often hear comments like this only to later discover that either someone else made changes of which you are unaware or possbily a software update occurred automatically. For example, the JRE version may have been auto-updated.
As for recoding in an alternative fashion, it will be difficult for me to say specifically because I don't know the app nor do I know your needs. The biggest, and it isn't all that big, deal will be to identify from where the pdf being opened comes from. In other words, does it already exist on the client machine or is it downloaded to the client from the/a server? Also important to know is whether or not the file name is known or not.
So, if you want to change the code, first figure out how you want the application to complete the task. Here are my suggestions:
    Suggestion 1.
<blockquote>If the file (pdf in your case) originally resides on a remote server, then leave it there. The document can be opened using a direct url to the file on the remote server. For example:
WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT ('http://server/somepath/my.pdf','_blank');If the file lives within the Forms directories, you can even use a relative path rather than the fully qualified one above. For example, if the files live in \forms\java\foo then you can do this:
-- The exact entry may differ slightly depending on which
-- Forms version you are using and where you locate the files
WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT ('/forms/java/foo/my.pdf','_blank');This makes the application a little more flexable given that you would not need to change the app code if the server name changed. Once the file has been opened on the client side, whatever pdf reader the end-user is using will offer a "Save" option. So if they choose to save the file locally, they can do so as they desire.</blockquote>
    Suggestion 2.
<blockquote>If, for whatever reason, the file is downloaded to the client or just happens to already exist on the client, you can use WebUtil's CLIENT_HOST (or WEBUTIL_HOST.HOST) command to open the file locally. There are several ways to do this and which method you choose will depend on a few factors. For example, are all the client machines Windows based? I will assume, for this example that the client machines are Windows based. And, because I like to write code as generically as possible, here is a way to open documents on Windows without the need to know which application normally handles it. In other words, you don't need to know that it will be Adobe Acrobat that opens pdf files or that MS Word will open doc files.
-- In this example, the value of myPathAndFile is the path and filename.
    -- For example, myPathAndFile := 'C:\Users\<USER_NAME>\Documents\foo.pdf';
CLIENT_HOST('rundll32 shell32,ShellExec_RunDLL '|| myPathAndFile); This is a bit of an old school way of accomplishing the task, but it is very effective and flexiable. Alternatively, you could use CLIENT_HOST to directly call the file, but this may not always work. For example:
    CLIENT_HOST('C:\Users\<USER_NAME>\Documents\foo.pdf');</blockquote>

  • Java.media.* does not exist

    Hello friends,
I am adding a new project in the netbeans5.0 using the
    Java Project with Existing sources.
Then i add the source file.
Before doing this i am using the library manager and add the jmf.jar files and also i am setting the CLASSPATH in the home directory.
Then at last i am giving the build it tells the problem of java.media.* does not exist.
I don't know what to do further.
    I am also setting the JMFHOME,CLASSPATH,PATH ,LD_LIBRARY_PATH.
After that also it tells the same problem.
Kindly tell what to do next for solving this problem
    With Regards,

    Hello friends,
I found the problem of javax.media.* does not exist.
You had to add the library path to your projects,
I here tell how to add the library path for you netbeans 5.5,
    In netbeans 5.5
In the left panel, it list your projects,
    Steps to add :
    1.Click on the project.
2.Now it displays the tree list of source packages, library,
3.Right click on the library ,
    4.click on the Add Jar/projects,
    5.Then enter the jar files [ jmf.jar,sound.jar ,etc ].
Now you compile and run .
It works fine for me try for yours.
If you place the javax directory in you source file remove that directory from the source package.

  • TOC Does Not Open in WebHelp Generated with RoboHelp 11

The TOC does not open in WebHelp Generated with RoboHelp 11. I tried other solutions posted on this forum but no success. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your assistance.

    Hi Jeff,
Thanks for responding! I uninstalled and reinstalled RoboHelp 11 and the WeHelp appears to display OK now. BUT, I have graphics in my project that are not displaying, only the empty placeholder for the graphics. This was displaying fine in WebHelp generated with RoboHelp 9 but not now. I see the graphics when I do “Preview Topic” but not in the generated WebHelp. Any clues what is causing this behavior? How can I correct it?
My tables appear very strange too. They are the default table in RoboHelp with the raised gray/silver border. However, in WebHelp, the tables appear as double solid black lines for the border. The tables appear fine in the topic but when viewed via “Preview Topic” and WebHelp output, they are double black likes. Help!
Another thing is that I also get an occasional message about a topic that says “The reference to the file  contains illegal characters and will not be shown in Project Manager. How can this be? My css is valid and I use it in numerous help projects.
Once again, thanks so much for your willingness to help. It is much appreciated.
