Java.libary.path  How to use it ?

I wanted to access the windows registry from my java program.
so i downloaded a jni package and set the classpath to it.
i now get java.lang.Unsatisfiedlinkerror.no ICE_JNIRegistry in
java.library.path ? How to rectify this ?

java.library.path is a settable parameter from the (java) commandline. Here's an example.
java -cp ..... -Djava.library.path=c:\\mylibdir MyClass

  • JGSL : about java scientific library, how to use it any tutorial or etc

    Hay,
    I have a question regarding JGSL: java scientific library.
    I just download the jgsl.0.1.1 lib for my project
    It contains a bunch of file, including the lib files
    I set the lib folder path in the LD_LIBRARY_PATH and when i tried to run the testfile.class
    that comes with this library, i got an error
    main class defination not found.
    Have any one used the lib if yes can send me the working example.
    or at least tell me how to set these things, there is no documentation available with this.
    thanks

    Why don't u use a class loader. Try this code
    // loader class
    public class Loader  extends ClassLoader {
        String path;
        public Loader(String path) {
              this.path = path;
        public Class findClass(String name) {
            byte[] b = loadClassData(path+name+".class");
            return defineClass(name, b, 0, b.length);
        private byte[] loadClassData(String name) {
            File file = new File(name);
            byte[] data = null;
            try {
                InputStream in = new FileInputStream(file);
                data = new byte[ (int) file.length()];
                for (int i = 0; i < data.length; i++) {
                    data[i] = (byte) in.read();
            catch (IOException ex) {
            file = null;
            return data;
    // in your caller class use
       Loader loader = new Loader(libPath); // lib path may be taken from a command line arg
       Object main = loader.loadClass("ClassLib", true).newInstance();I think this is what u r looking for

    Hi.
    We are developing J2EE application on Weblogic Server 9. For a part of application we should create unit tests that will be run in Java SE. How to use openjpa + kodo in Java SE?

    Hi,
    Try the EclipseLink JPA JEE5/JEE6 provider - it has been shipping as part of WebLogic Server since 10.3.1.0.
    <provider>org.eclipse.persistence.jpa.PersistenceProvider</provider>

  • How to use PooledConnection

    Hi all
    This problem can look funny to lot of you.
    I have project where i use Java on server side to perform some operation with MySQL. I have created connection to MySQL but there will be lot of users and connecting to database like i have done is not a option.
    public Connection Connecting() {         try {             String username = "username";             String password = "pass";             String url = "jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/database";             Class.forName("com.mysql.jdbc.Driver").newInstance();             conn = DriverManager.getConnection(url, username, password);             System.out.println("Connection established on connecting to database");         } catch (Exception e) {             System.out.println("Database Connection Problem while creating connection:" + e);         }         return conn;     }
    Then i was informed that i can use Pooled Connection. From NetBeans tutorial i have learn how to create it.
    [http://www.netbeans.org/kb/60/web/mysql-webapp.html|http://www.netbeans.org/kb/60/web/mysql-webapp.html]
    There i nice explanation how to create server resource and how to use it directly on web page.
    <sql:query var="subjects" dataSource="jdbc/IFPWAFCAD">     SELECT subject_id, name FROM Subject </sql:query>
    But i need to use it in my Java class. How to use PooledConnection created on server (GlassFish)
    I was checking lot of web pages and all was talking about how to create PooledConnection but nothing with example how to use PooledConnection created on server already.
    If any one can give some code example.
    I have also checked this but i don't get it how to get data?
    [http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/javax/sql/PooledConnection.html|http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/javax/sql/PooledConnection.html]

    You use the DataSource to get connections (by calling getConnection()). "jdbc/IFPWAFCAD" is the JNDI name for your resource and you use that to get the actual DataSource object that the container should've loaded for you. So you get the DataSource by it's JNDI name and then get connections from the DataSource. Once you have a Connection, you can do all the stuff you'd normally do with JDBC, using PreparedStatements etc.
    It's is advisable to use a DAO in order to separate your business logic from your data access logic. Check out this tutorial: [http://balusc.blogspot.com/2008/07/dao-tutorial-data-layer.html]

  • How to add external library in class path folder for use in Java call-out?

    Hi,
    I am working with Java callout component in OSB 12c using Jdeveloper.
    Thing is Jar what i am using to perform conversion of json to xml that using external libraries.
    When i have give reference of my project jar to java callout it doen't found external libraries.
    Could you please tell me how to add external libraries in class path folder or How to use to add it through web-logic server ?
    Thanks,
    Pavan

    Hi,
    Thanks, I have solved issue.
    We can add on following path in windows pc:
    C:\Users\your_usename\AppData\Roaming\JDeveloper\system12.1.3.0.41.140521.1008\DefaultDomain\lib
    One you add your external lib here then do restart weblogic server instance.
    Now, you have that external lib or jar in use.
    Cool!

  • Java ftp server which can use LDAP, how to integrate with WLS' implementation of LDAP?

    Howdy.
    I'm setting up a java ftp server
    (http://www.mycgiserver.com/~ranab/ftp/index.html) which is capable of using
    LDAP for it's user security. I would like to integrate this ftp server with
    wls' implementation of LDAP so I only have to admin one user list.
    Does wls put it's user list in the LDAP or in it's own proprietary setup? I
    tried playing around with it, but the users don't seem to appear in the JNDI
    tree. Is this where the LDAP stuff is located? I thought it was in there?
    If it's in it's own setup, is there a way to propagate the users to LDAP?
    If these look like newbie Q&A, I guess they kind of are, I'm new to LDAP.
    Thanks for any input you might have.

    Peter,
    If you are talking about using the embedded LDAP server in WLS 7.0 for this purpose
    I think you are going done the wrong path.
    Look at the following URL on how to use an external LDAP server for your custom
    application

  • HOw to create a Batch file for java application and whats the use of this ?

    HI,
    How to create a Batch file for java application ?
    And whats the use of creating batch file ?
    Thanks in advance

    First of all, you're OT.
    Second, you can find this everywhere in the net.
    If you got a manifest declaring main class (an classpath if needed), just create a file named whatever.bat, within same directory of jar file, containing:
    javaw -jar ./WhateverTheNameOfYourJarIs.jar %*By the way, assuming a Windows OS, you can just double click the jar file (no batch is needed).
    Otherwise use:
    javaw -cp listOfJarsAndDirectoriesSeparedBySemiColon country/company/application/package/className %*Where 'country/company/application/package/' just stands for a package path using '/' as separator instead of '.'
    Don't specify the .class extension.
    Javaw only works on Windows (you asked for batch, I assumed .BAT, no .sh), in Linux please use java.exe (path may be needed, Windows doesn't need it 'cause java's executables are copied to system32 folder in order to be always available, see PATH environment variable if you don't know what I'm talking about) and use ':' as classpath (cp) separator.
    The '%***' tail is there in order to pass all parameters, it only works on Windows, refer to your shell docs for other OSs (something like $* may work).
    This way you have a command you can call to launch your code (instead of opening NetBeans just to see your app working). You could schedule tasks on it or just call it in any command prompt (hope you know what it is 'cause there have been people in this very same forum with no clue about it, if not just hold the 'Windows button' and press 'R', then type 'cmd' and run it).
    Finally add dukes and give 'hem away.
    Bye.

  • How to use  third party package in java application

    hi, i am a student , new to java world can any of u tell me how to import third party package in our java application.
    i want to know how CLI is done in java.
    i am going thru this link http://www.codezoo.com/pub/component/5574
    not able to get anything.
    please please help me

    There are two steps -
    1. Import the classes you need from the package(s) using the Java import statement in your classes that need access to them.
    2. include the 3rd part code (one or more .jar files and/or root directories holding the code's package tree and .class files) to your javac and java class path and optionaly to the class path found in your .jar's manifest file.

  • How the java.library.path is set?

    Hi,
    Can anyone please tell me know how System class (or JVM) sets the default value of the property java.library.path?
    I tried searching the answer on net but I was not able to find any thing.
    Regards,
    Kev.

    If you don't set it, I believe the JVM then reverts to using the search strategy of the native system.
    On Windows, that means first looking in load directory, then looking in the Windows directory. (I made this intentionally vague; I believe these actually changed at one point during Windows' history.)
    It is something else on Unices.

  • How to set java.library.path form code

    I'm new to JNI. I see there are several ways to set JVM to look for libraries dll, so, etc.
         System.setProperty("java.library.path", ".");
         System.loadLibrary("hello");That's when UnsatisfiedLinkError
    java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no hello in java.library.path
         at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibrary(ClassLoader.java:1682)
         at java.lang.Runtime.loadLibrary0(Runtime.java:822)
         at java.lang.System.loadLibrary(System.java:992)
         at HelloWorld.main(HelloWorld.java:17)But if I comment the line that sets the java.library.path and call the program with the command java -Djava.library.path=. HelloWorld works.
    The question is: Why is not working? How should it be the property setup? I rather don't set Variables, or use -D option.
    Thanks in advance.
    PD: If it helps I'm using JDK 1.5.0_01 on Linux kernel 2.6.8

    well i wrote the script and everything is fine! i can run the blackbox example on the commapi.
    But i am writing another program using netbeans to send some data to a PIC microcontroller using the serial port (that is why i installed the commapi), and when i'm trying to build it or run it on netbeans throws this error:
    Error loading LinuxSerialParallel: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no LinuxSerialParallel in java.library.path
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: isDevLink
    at com.sun.comm.Unix.isDevLink(Native Method)
    at com.sun.comm.PathBundle.add(PathBundle.java:108)
    at com.sun.comm.PlatformPortBundle.<init>(PlatformPortBundle.java:44)
    at javax.comm.CommPortIdentifier.<clinit>(CommPortIdentifier.java:138)
    as far as i know it seems to be missing a library (LinuxSerialParallel), if this is right, adding the library would solve the error?how can i add the library? is there another way to solve this?
    thanks in advance!!

  • How to add path to "java.library.path" property?

    I use this command to set the "java.library.path" property:
    java -Djava.library.path=./libs    HelloWorldBut it will overwrite the default value. How can I add the path "./libs" to the default value of "java.library.path"?

    Have you tried
    -Djava.library.path=%PATH%;./libs The command search path is the only default I know. By the way, are you certain that the present working directory will always be the parent of "libs"?

    you ust to download activation.jar and mail.jar and add them to your build path.
    i have used the googlemail smtp server to send mail the code is following:
    public void SendMail()
    Properties props = new Properties();
    props.put("mail.smtp.user", username);
    props.put("mail.smtp.host", host);
    props.put("mail.smtp.port", port);
    props.put("mail.smtp.starttls.enable","true");
    props.put("mail.smtp.auth", "true");
    props.put("mail.smtp.socketFactory.port", port);
    try{
         Authenticator auth = new SMTPAuthenticator(username,password);
    Session session = Session.getInstance(props, auth);
    MimeMessage msg = new MimeMessage(session);
    msg.setText(text);
    msg.setSubject(subject);
    msg.setFrom(new InternetAddress(senderEmail));
    msg.addRecipient(Message.RecipientType.TO, new InternetAddress(receiver));
    Transport.send(msg);
    }catch(Exception ex) {
         System.out.println("Error Sending:");
    System.out.println(ex.getMessage().toString());
    and this the SMTPAuthenticator Class which you will need too.
    class SMTPAuthenticator extends javax.mail.Authenticator {
         private String fUser;
         private String fPassword;
         public SMTPAuthenticator(String user, String password) {
         fUser = user;
         fPassword = password;
         public PasswordAuthentication getPasswordAuthentication() {
         return new PasswordAuthentication(fUser, fPassword);
         }
