Javascript "Play Video" button not working in Firefox

When clicking on "play video" (java), QuickTime will not open while using firefox. It does work in Google Chrome and IE. I have tried using a clean user profile & allowing popups, and I made sure the Java and QuickTime addons were working and up to date.
The problem is with twit.tv/twit. Clicking the "Live" link on google.com does play the live stream, but the actual Java buttons are not working in Firefox.

Make sure that you do not block [[JavaScript]]
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the ''Safe mode'' start window.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (on Mac: "Firefox > Quit")

  • Videos are not working in Firefox

    Hey everyone,
This seems to be a common problem, but videos are not working on Firefox, and not just for YouTube. I have updated Adobe Shockwave and Flash, re-installed Firefox, deleted/created a Firefox profile, started up Firefox in Safe Mode, turned off HTML5, checked if any of my plug-ins are disabled, and none of those have helped.
When I get on YouTube and click a video, the video itself doesn't even load. On other sites, in the box where the video should be playing, it says "No video with supported format and MIME content can be found." This kind of confuses me because I have updated the Adobe Flash.
Thoughts? Anything would be appreciated at this point.

    Hello,
Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See [[Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems|this article]] for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).
To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:
#Go to this [http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues Adobe Flash Player Help page].
#Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
#Click on '''Settings''' in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
    # Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel. <br/> <br/>[[Image:fpSettings1.PNG]] <br/>
    # Remove the check mark from '''Enable hardware acceleration'''.
    # Click '''Close''' to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
    # Restart Firefox.
This [http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/help01.html Flash Player Help - Display Settings page] has more information on Flash Player hardware acceleration, if you're interested.
Does this solve the problem? Let us know.

  • Back Button not working in FireFox 4

Is anyone else having trouble with the back and forward buttons not working in FireFox 4? I installed 4 on an XP desktop and a Vista 64 laptop, and the forward and back buttons don't work on either installation. Does anyone know a fix for this? I tried deleting the "places" files in the profile and that does not help.

I am having a problem with the back button also in Firefox 4. Firefox forgets the 1st page in any new session or tab. If I open a tab to say bbc.com and navigate to guardian.com I can't click the back button to get back to bbc.com.

  • Video.seek() not working in Firefox

The Video.seek() method does not appear to be working in
    Firefox.
It works fine in Flash Player 9 and IE.
I have the 9,115 plugin for Firefox.
Has anybody else ran into this problem?
    Thanks!
    dustoff.

    Did a little more analysis.
NetStream.seek() does not work in FireFox if seek() is called
    immediately after NetStream.play().
This does work in Flash Player 9.
However, I discovered that NetStream.seek() DOES work in
FireFox once the video is playing and called via an EventListener.
    Just wanted to clarify.
However, in Firefox - I do want to show the first frame, and
    then stop.
So any advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks!
    dustoff.

  • Help button not working on firefox. How to fix?

    help button not working.

    Hello,
    Lets give Firefox some Tuneup.
The Refresh feature (called "Reset" in older Firefox versions) can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.
'''''Note:''' When you use this feature, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences.'' See the [[Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings]] article for more information.
    To Refresh Firefox:
    # Open the Troubleshooting Information page using one of these methods:
#*Click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]], click help [[Image:Help-29]] and select ''Troubleshooting Information''. A new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
#*If you're unable to access the Help menu, type '''about:support''' in your address bar to bring up the Troubleshooting Information page.
#At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Refresh Firefox" ("Reset Firefox" in older Firefox versions). Click on it.
#Firefox will close. After the refresh process is completed, Firefox will show a window with the information that is imported.
#Click Finish and Firefox will reopen.
Did this fix the problem? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.

  • Video button not working on ipad

    Video function not working.

Camera screen gives choice of photo, square or video. When I tap video not coming on...has worked in past.

  • Soical buttons not working in firefox & Chrome but OK in Safari

My webiste has been up and running for a month now but I've now noticed (among an array of other Muse bugs... aaaggghhh) that the 'Facebook Recommend and the 'Pin it' social widget buttons don't work in Firefox and Chrome but they do in Safari?
    http://www.thinksmartresumes.com.au/parthorus-resumes-design.html (freebie tab)
Also on this page, the 'LinkedIn share' button works fine in Safari and Chrome but not in Firefox? See screen shots...
The Muse Team (ie Danni Beaumont) clearly state in all the tutorial videos that they guarantee multi-platform user friendly code.... I spend half my day finding bugs between different browsers? Not happy.

I am having similar issues - the URL that the plugin insists it wants to have complete (with http:// at the front) is being concatenated with another "http://" when it is rendered on the page.
This is the URL I have in the properties for the button:
But this is the URL that shows up in the Share dialog:
If I take the http:// OFF the property for the button (so, I start with "www...."), the widget doesn't render.  I get an error that the thumbnail can't draw.
    Yes, annoying.

  • The Downloads Clear List Button Not Working In Firefox 19.0

    Hello,
After upgrading Firefox to version 19.0 today, I noticed that the Downloads Clear List Button does not work & is always grayed/greyed out, and so you can not clear all downloads; and so you have to remove them each one-at-a-time.
I did not have this problem until upgrading to version 19.0

  • Video buttons not working ipad

ttapping play works, tapping again pauses - but I cannot slide the video button to FFWD or rewind since IOS 8 update.

    Hi Bob,
Thanks for your suggestion ! Yes, I already thought of that. But it would be much nicer to have control buttons and just one big video. But again, if it can't be done, it can't be done. And I will probably have to split the video if I want someone to be able to jump to the next chapter.
Now I am looking into the possibilities to use HTML5 to play the video, but I'm still trying to find out if HTML5 supports some kind of control buttons. If it does, the next step would be to try to insert HTML5 into my project (Overlay creator) and see if my Ipad can play this. I haven't got a clue, don't know anything about HTML5. But I'm ready to find out ... ;-)

  • CS4 "play-stop" button not working

OK hope someone might be able to help - I am trying to get CS4 working on my partners machine which is a Sony Vaio VGN-AR49G – specs here - http://vaio-online.sony.com/prod_info/vgn-ar49g/vgn-ar49g.pdf
    A bit of history...
Recently installed Premier Pro CS4 on vista (Running CS3 previously on vista with no issues).
Running CS4 within days started to have conflicts between AVCHD and DV when editing in the same timeline – were recommended to upgrade to Windows 7.  Upgraded to Win 7 32 bit.  This is the course of action:
    - After upgrading from Vista to Win 7 32 bit, got the Win 7 updates;
    - Upgraded some drivers (used Driver Robot to detect driver updates required);
    - Uninstalled CS4 suite and reinstalled;
    - Downloaded CS4 upgrades…
Things seem to be running properly now except the "play-stop" button (or space bar) in both the "Source" & "Program Sequence" Screens doesn't work.   Can scroll by moving the bar along the timeline, select in and out points etc… OK, but movie won’t play in source screen or program screen.
Have checked WAV, AVI, AVCHD … none will play.
Closed Premier Pro and open Premier Elements on the same machine and it is functioning fine – can play the same footage…
I’ve updated all drivers which Driver Robot seemed to think needed upgrading EXCEPT Intel ICH8 Family .. the upgrade failed and I haven’t been able to locate more up to date drivers on the web .. and found a note on my travels that these don’t need upgrading anyway.
    http://communities.intel.com/message/72149;jsessionid=6169690E70B02BD075E4C1131A7ACC85.nod e5COMS
    Help please!

    Thanks!
Really, so we're better to start from scratch rather than upgrade??  We'd have to re-load any other apps / drivers back on too after the install?  Don't run too much else on the machine as it is purely for editing.
We have purchased the upgrade rather than straight install -- but if there's a pretty good chance that we'll solve the problem then we'll go buy that too.  Interested in any comments you have to help me understand Win 7 install vs upgrade ... thanks!

  • Captivate 2.0 Play/Pause button Not Working

    Hi,
We are facing a problem in captivate 2.0 file. Due to some
reason the play/pause button isn’t working in the captivate
file. There are few links on a particular screen which goes to
respective slides in the captivate file. Once the learner jumped on
a respective screen then the Play/Pause button is not working. Even
though I keep on clicking the Play/Pause button the Audio is not
stopping, it keeps on playing. When we click thrice on the
Play/Pause button, then the Audio stops.
Could you please help me in resolving this issue?
    Thanks in Advance.

Exact same thing is happening to mine. It's a conspiracy so we'll all have to buy a new piece of ipod tech. I've been happy with it so far, but now it is just like a pack of gum, but less chewy and no tasty goodness.

  • Flash video has not worked with Firefox browser for years. When will you fix this?

Anyone who uses Firefox browser (for Windows or for Mac) knows that flash video playback ceased working sometime around Firefox ver 13 and has not worked since.
The Mozilla people say it is Adobe's fault - instead of fixing Firefox.
They say roll back to Adobe Flash version 10.
This solves the video problem, but then, any other services that depend on the latest Flash build, quit working properly.
This situation leaves millions of Firefox users in perpetual frustration. We can't use our browser of choice to view any web video built with Flash.
This is so unacceptable. I am unable to understand why Adobe and Firefox don't get together and iron out whatever code incompatibility is causing this.
I would really like to hear Adobe's explanation for this.

Uh... I don't know what planet you posted this from, but Flash video has worked flawlessly with Firefox for hundreds of millions of users here on earth, without any gaps since Firefox was still called Mozilla.
For the record, I have Firefox 28 with Flash Player 13 installed on:
    WIndows XP (SP3-64bit)
    Windows Vista Ultimate (SP2-64bit)
    Windows 7 Ultimate (SP1-64bit)
    Windows 8 Enterprise (64bit-2 machines)
    Windows 8.1 Enterprise (64 bit)
    OS 0.6.8 Server
    OS10.7.5
    OS10.8.5
    OS10.9.2
And I've had Firefox with Flash Player since 2003 on both OS formats. I've never had a compatibility problem.
I also use Chrome, IE, Opera, Safari and a few other browsers you probably never heard of (like SeaMonkey, Maxthon, Waterfox, iCab, OmniWeb)... Flash works in all of them.
I'd have to say the problem is with your system specifically, because if it was a Firefox/Flash compatibility problem, there would have been hundreds of millions of complaints about it, for over a decade. That... just isn't the case.

  • IPhone video button not working

It snowed in Houston two days ago and I tried to take a video of it on my IPhone 4. I kept pushing on the video button but nothing worked. I found an IPad discussion that said if you had upgraded to OS7 then you needed to slide up and down. Well that didn't work on my IPhone so I tried side to side-low and behold that worked. Why doesn't Apple tell us these things???

We are just users like you and have no way of knowing why Apple does the things they do.

  • Videos will not work in Firefox but work fine in windows explorer. why?

I tried to verify my plug-in's and all are enabled. I found where was suggested to remove and reinstall Firefox but that did not fix problem either. I tried to change viewer for videos but still no luck. Not certain why Quicktime doesn't work. Note, videos when browsing will not open but everything else works fine. Videos work fine with windows Explorer, but not Firefox.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
