Javascript to add "Specify Open Preference" dialog when linking with "Go to a page view"

Hi, all!
We're needing to file a brief with the Court. Within our .pdf brief, we link to exhibits and transcripts.
For the exhibits, we hyperlink using "open a file," because going to the first page of the exhibit is fine. Here, after selecting our file, we're given the "Specify Open Preference" dialog, where you can either (a) go with the user's setting, (b) mandate opening the link in the same window or (c) mandate opening the link in a new window. This is perfect -- we always want a new window.
However, for the transcripts, we need it to go to a particular page, so we use "Go to a page view." This works fine, except that it ALWAYS and ONLY goes with the user preference. We want it to ALWAYS and ONLY open in a new window, so the Court can close the destination and be in the same place in the Source doc. I realize they can set their preference or use "return to previous view," but we can't really communicate that.
Is there a javascript -- or a plug-in we can purchase -- or anything -- that will somehow allow us to fix "Go to a page view" to open in a new window?

After creating a "Go to page view" type link you can go back end edit it and specify how you want the other document to open:
I realize this is a bit tedious, but that's how it's done.

Two observations.
First — "Tools-> ...." is specific to Acrobat X and XI. It did not exist prior to Acrobat X.
Second — Acrobat 9 Pro / Standard (nor earlier release) does not support viewing a PDF page containing a scanned image and performing a right-click ... Save Image As.

Linking: specify open preference

When setting links in a pdf doc there are 3 steps. The third one opens a box called "specify open preference". I would like to default to the second option "new window" since I repeatedly select that option, but I've been unable to get the window to open with the radio button for "new window" preselected. Is there a way to do this?

When I double click the desktop item to open it up, it opens immediately, but when I'm in the main page with all the folders on the left & the corresponding email details on the right of that same page, it seems to have problems. Before, when I would highlight a certain box / folder (whether it would b “inbox”, “sent” folder, “trash” folder, or whatever, it takes a good 5 min (minimum) to open that certain folder so I can see the emails of that folder.
Can u help me determine what is causing this? Just 3 days ago, it was fine.

Lightroom 6 for Mac crashes when trying to open preferences dialog

Hi,
I just installed an upgrade from LR 5.x to Lightroom 6 (not CC). Unlike other people who seem to have a problem with Lightroom 6 crashing on startup, the application works fine for me, except that it immediately crashes every time I try to open the Preferences dialog.
It does not matter if I try to access the preferences using the Cmd-, shortcut or through the Lightroom → Preferences menu item. There is an immediate crash every time.
Not that I have any urgent need to change any preferences—I just wanted to check if any preferences that might be new to Lightroom 6 needed adjustment.
It is on a MacBook Air running Yosemite 10.10.3.

Illustrator CS3 crashes in "Open file" dialog when making a copy of a file

Hi!
I have a user, who has quite a weird problem. We use the Design Standard CS3 package, since we can't afford to upgrade all 20 users to CS5 right now.
The problem occurs in Illustrator, when she goes to the "Open File" dialog. She often makes copies of files in there (ctrl+c, ctrl+v), so she has a backup of the file she's currently working on. Why she won't use Explorer to do that, I can't say.. she said something about it being easier this way.
The problem is, that often when she presses ctrl+v Illustrator crashes without warning. Usually when Illustrator crashes there's a warning about not enough memory, an error report or stuff like that, but none of that happens. It's fully patched (13.0.2), and there's no problem with the Print Spooler or the default printer.
I'm unable to replicate it on my computer, unfortunately, so I'm turning to you. Have any of you ever heard about this, seen it somewhere - and do you know what causes it?

Customise columns in Open/Save dialog when in List View

When opening or saving a file from an application while in list view, there is no "Date Modified" column that you could click to sort by. It seems to be gone and there is no way to configure the columns in this dialog. How to add or delete columns in the list view of open/save dialog?

No. Column view will only sort by name. If you wanted to put a space before each folder name, then they will sort to the top. Sorting by Kind will put folders above files, but it will also put anything else except files at the top. If there are only folders, however, that would put them first in the sort list.

Error dialog when open index dialog on tables with spatial index

Hi all,
When I want to open in the preferences of a table with a spatial index the index dialog, then there appears the following message:
"Index <myIndex> column GEOMETRY, datatype SDO_GEOMETRY is not a valid column type for use in a text index".
I can only click the ok button, but I am not able to modify any of my set index.
Does anyone else have the same problem?

I have the same problem on SQLDev 2.1.1 for Windows. I hadn't this problem in 1.5.
I must use a normal sql script to create spatial index.

Lightroom 5.0 fails to automatically open import dialog when memory card inserted

Lightroom 5.0 fails to detect memory card and open import dialog. This has always worked fine in Lightroom 4, 3,and 2. Same cards, same camera, same iMac using OS X 10.8.4. Manual importing works OK, card is detected just fine.

I have tested Lightroom 4 and Lightroom 5 on Mac OSx 10.9.4 and find no difference in behavior.
If you have correctly set Image Capture to auto-launch Lightroom on insertion of card and you have set Lightroom to launch the Import dialog upon insertion of card, this is expected behavior:
1. If Lightroom is not open open, inserting a Memory Card will launch Lightroom without opening the Import Dialog
2. If Lightroom is open already, inserting a Memory Card will open the Import Dialog.
I can find no combination of settings in Lightroom 4 or 5 that allow you to, with Lightroom closed, insert a card and have Lightroom launch and open the Import dialog. I would sure love to see someone produce a screen vid capture of Lightroom 4 opening by itself and launching an import dialog upon card insertion with no user intervention.

Why does iTunes delete my library every time I turn my computer on? All my music is still on my computer but when I open iTunes it comes up with the scan media page. I have to redo my playlists and it takes forever. Can someone help??

Every time I turn my computer on and open iTunes all my music is gone, if comes up with the scan media page, all my playlists have been deleted. All my music is still on the computer and in the files. I don't know why it keeps doing this, it's really annoying as I have loads of music and then have to do my playlists again just to sync my phone. Can someone please help??

Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. Note that in iTunes 11 an "empty" library may show your past purchases with links to stream or download them.
In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
Alternatively, depending on exactly when and why the library went missing, there may be a more recent .tmp file in the main iTunes folder that can be copied and renamed asiTunes Library.itl to restore the library to an earlier state. Look for a recent .tmp file that is similar in size to the .itl files in the Previous iTunes Libraries folder. If it has happened repeatedly you may want the earliest such file generated since the last iTunes upgrade.
If applicable, see iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device. Even if you have the media you can use selected steps from the tip to ensure that you don't lose settings and data from the device as a result of switching libraries.
A large number of users with this issue have been using AVG Anti-Virus which appears to be implicated in the problem. AVG have released a patch which might help, so if you use AVG then I would update that first. I'd also be interested to know which AV you use in case others may cause similar issues. I recommend excluding the iTunes folder from any real-time and scheduled AV scanning process. Another possible cause could be automatic backup tools.

Adobe Reader installed? If so remove Reader.
Macintosh HD > Library > Internet Plug-ins
Look for these two files.
AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin
AdobePDFViewer.plugin
Right click those and select “Move To Trash”.

Report - Alert Message when Link with value 0 is clicked

Hi,
I have a report with many fields eg. Year , Count of High Priority Project , Count of Medium Priority Project , Count of Low Priority Project.
I have used Column Attributes to link the report data to page 22.
Now , some of the cells in the report have 0 . Is it possible that when user click on 0 the link does not take to page 22 , but show javascript alert window stating no data.
Any help will be highly appreaciated.

I have a table say dummy_project with field Year , Priority ( it can have only any of these three value - High Medium and Low ) and Project_Status ( it can have only any of these three value - Red , Green and Yellow ) --- As you can see value of the field has been used as Column Lable ( eg. High , Low and Medium ) --
now when user click on first cell which has value 1 -- It pass the High Column Lable , Priority (High value is in priority field of dummy project table) , and Year to Page 22.
Since my original report contains 17 fields, it will be very difficult for me to include hyperlink in the query.
Is there any other way to make my hyperlink conditional , when it has 0 value there should be no hyperlink ...
If i use the method which is metioned in the link it will work as I want but the code will become to lenghty and hard to debug ( Condidering there are 17 column) and each column is derived using decode and case and other conditions....

i m novice to robohelp html when i am creating chm files from
my exsisting project that is a robohelp word project which take
input doc file in Robohelp word and create .hpj poject and then i

project from the hpj project .
but at this time poject has some links with external chm but

Hi Ruziyo and welcome to the RH forums.
If you are opening up your project via the XPJ file in
RoboHelp HTML the remote topic should be able to be found by:
- Highlighting what is to be hyperlinked.
- Clicking the Insert > Hyperlink menu item (or use the
toolbar icon or Cntl + K).
- Click on the arrow to the right of the "Link To" field.
- Select the Remote Topic option.
- Select the CHM file that contains the topic to which the
hyperlink is linked to.
- Select the required topic.
You will be asked to copy the CHM into your project
directory. Hope this answers your question. If not, please do come
back.

Why does my bank statement open up in Quicktime Player with only the first page visible?

This month I tried to open my bank statement as usual, and it opened in Quicktime Player. The first page of the statement displays, but I can not scroll to the next pages. I have tested downloading other items, and they downloaded as usual. I don't use Quicktime, and I tried hiding it. But each time I try to see my statement, it comes up again.

What file format is your bank statement in? Is it a PDF or in an .xls/.csv file format? It sounds like the program-to-file association has gotten messed up on the file. If you right-click (or ctrl-click) on the file then:
- Get Info
- Open with
If it's a .pdf then you'll want to associate the file with Preview (or whatever PDF viewer you use). If it's a different file format you'll want to associate it with the program that you typically use for that file type.
