JBO-26010: Invalid Entity Attribute Name

Hi All,
The requirement is to add a new field on the page but that field is not getting selected in the core EO, so I have extended the EO and than extended the VO based on that extend ed EO.
After that I followed usual steps to import then personalised and added the new field ...bounced every thing but when I am testing got following error:
## Detail 0 ##
JBO-30003: The application pool (oracle.apps.pon.negotiation.creation.server.NegotiationCreationAM) failed to checkout an application module due to the following exception:
oracle.jbo.JboException: JBO-29000: Unexpected exception caught: oracle.jbo.JboException, msg=JBO-29000: Unexpected exception caught: oracle.jbo.PersistenceException, msg=JBO-26010: Invalid Entity Attribute Name "Description" specified for the View Attribute "XxAuctionHeadersAllVO"
===========
When I checked the "XxAuctionHeadersALLEO.xml" it has only entry of new attribute. But in "XxAuctionHeadersAllVO.xml" it has the complete SQL ....so is that can be a problem?
I have run the query from "XxAuctionHeadersAllVO.xml" in toad and it works fine.
Thanks!

Yes it is...:-)
Anyways thanks for the reply..
The Base EO - AuctionHeadersALLEO which I have extended to XxAuctionHeadersALLEO
I have already performed both the steps suggested by you (i.e. option 1) so after Substitute the custom VO "XxAuctionHeadersAllVO" on top of standard VO "AuctionHeadersAllVO" when I tested the change I have got the above error : JBO-26010: Invalid Entity Attribute Name "Description" specified for the View Attribute "XxAuctionHeadersAllVO"
So in custom VO (and also in standard VO) select it's just references it as "AuctionHeadersALLEO.DESCRIPTION" but the field is in AuctionHeadersAllBaseEO.xml not in AuctionHeadersALLEO.xml
so I don't understand how it works in the standard product?
Is it any better? Or do I have to be more clearer :-(

    HI, I'm using JDEV 11.1.1.6.0
    I am encountering this error msg on one VO
    oracle.jbo.PersistenceException: JBO-26010: Invalid Entity Attribute Name "CorrespondenceAddressFlag" specified for the View Attribute "AddressDetailsVO"
    I have searched for similar problems for others and have checked the relevant XML file and have seen that the entries are correct.
    If I delete this attribute and add it again, the error come up for the next attribute.
    Earlier the EO had a few attributes then according to further requirement changes, we add new attributes to the Table and Synchronized the EO's.
    Then added these Attributes to the VO. This application Runs fine when tested in AppModule but when dropped on page, it gives the above error.

    Just to confirm that this is not a Library or deployment setup problem, Now, I changed the deployment scope to include business components in the ViewController to just to be sure it was being picked up in the ViewController too. I Created a separate AppModule in the ViewController and Added the VO to it, It Ran Properly including the Addition and Commit Control.

  • EBS R12.2.4 Oracle Customer Online, profile UDA error "JBO-26010"  UomExtAttr1

    Hi, all
         In EBS R12.2.4, OCO define a UDA for profile,  not display in profile page, show error page, has below error "JBO-26010: Invalid Entity Attribute Name "UomExtAttr1"  ", any help is appreciate.

    Bing,
    I think one thing you might want to do is to post your code on the Web somewhere. Maybe you can open a Weblog and post this there.
    http://www.jroller.com will let you open a blog for free we'll love to see more customers of JDeveloper opening weblogs and sharing their experience over the Web.

  • How to change View Attribute Name?

    Is there a way to change the attribute name of a view object that was added from and entity Object?
    I dont want to change the Entity Attribute Name since i want to use it in diferent view objects with diferent names...

    Hi Frank
    It would be very convenient to have view object attribute name updateable because the attributes may result from different joins (to same table) and have different meaning depending more on the association than to the table attribute itself (in most case the relationship extend the meaning of the attribute).
    In my use case i have :
    A table FlexTypologyClassMatrix with two foreign key pointed to FlexTypologyClass primary table. That mean that my matrix have two axis defined by the primary key of FlexTypologyClass table.
    I created a view object that correspond to this scheme with eo's FlexTypologyClassMatrix, FlexTypologyClass as FlexTypologyClassAxisX, FlexTypologyClassAxisY).
    The view object attributes from eo's FlexTypologyClassMatrixAxisX or Y are generated from the table attribute name with a suffix like FlextypologyclassL (for FlexTypologyClassMatrixAxisX) and FlextypologyclassL1 (FlexTypologyClassMatrixAxisY).
    The attribute name are the most used item used later in the development cycle and this is not easy to distinguish the X from the Y without analyzing the view object definition. It's not a very productive way to develop application.
    It would be very convenient to permit the view object attribute name to be updateable or the alias name of the entity object in the view object has to be displayed with, every time.
    I didn't check if the info is displayed every tiem, may be it is a workaround !?
    Hope you understand what I mean. Thank you.

  • Cannot create or replace : The specified extended attribute name was invalid.

    New problem arrived today. Trying to copy a file from 10.6 server with an XP (SP3) client. I get this error:
    Cannot create or replace (file name here): The specified extended attribute name was invalid.
    The contents of the file can be copied, but not the folder. Other files can be copied. There are no funny characters. The name is not too long. I propogated the permissions on the share and that had no affect. The problem exists on three different XP systems. Can't find extended properties that could be causeing a problem. Any ideas?

    Nikon just released a Firmware update today for the D750

  • Entity Reference embedded within colspec attribute name-table col. heading

    My team is working on a project that involves converting MS Word documents to XML. The XML is applied to a stylesheet (*.xsl) which generates a *.pdf document. Is it valid to include an xml entity reference within a colspec attribute name? For example, the xml document would contain the following code for a table:
    <t id="t1109681052">TABLE 1.0 My Favorite Restaurants</t>
    <tbl id="tbl921133606" val="1.0">
    <TblHdg num="1">Table 1.0 My Favorite Restaurants </TblHdg>
    <colspec id="colspec1148420628" name=" Restaurant Name" width="0.61875"/>
    <colspec id="colspec201089067" name="Type of Authentic Cuisine" width="1.61875"/>
    <colspec id="colspec201089069" name="Location" width="1.61875"/>
    </tbl>
    Is the following code valid in XML to produce the results in the sample table below when the XML is applied to a stylesheet (xsl)?
    <colspec id="colspec201089067" name="Type of "Authentic" Cuisine" width="1.61875"/>
    The desired table and column titles would be as follows:
    Restaurant Name ----     Type of “Authentic” Cuisine ----     Location
    Le Chantecler --------------->French     The Negresco Hotel –
    Promenade des Anglais Nice France
    La Coupola -------------------->French     The Mirabeau Hotel
    1 Princess Grace Ave
    Monte Carlo Monaco
    What is needed in the XML code to produce the table column heading with quotes embedded around the word "Authentic"?
    Please advise. Thanks so much and have a prosperous and memorable holiday.

  • IfsException: IFS-10407: Invalid Attribute name

    I'm trying to programmaticaly create an instance of the custom class AsapPublisher that I have created. When I attempt to set the attribute jobTitle I get the IFS exception 10407. The attribute jobTitle exists so I unsure why I'm getting this error. Below is my code and stack trace. If anyone can see where I'm going wrong I would appreciate input. Thanks!

  • Modeler error: invalid entity name

    Hello,
    Newbie question: what does the "modeler error: invalid entity name" error message mean when using the wscompile tool of the wsdp? The full error is
    error: modeler error: invalid entity name: "foo" (in namespace: "http://xml.foo")
    Does it point to a problem with the namespace, part of the entity or something else?
    Thanks in advance,

    I believe it means the identifier called out doesn't belong in the namespace that the compiler thinks it is using.
    I've had this problem, and it was when the XML Schema definition had complex types that did not contain the namespace prefix (e.g. using "MyType" instead of "myxsd:MyType" in the schema definition).

  • Trying to set the entity attributes in before commit and get the following

    i get the following error when i try to set the entity attributes before commit.
    JBO-28202: Entities invalidated in beforeCommit(). Need to re-validate and post.
    can somebody let me know, how to re-validate and post.

    I Suggest you set its Attribute on EOImpl, override doDML, and before call super.doDML set your Attribute. There is a special reason to set Attribute on beforeCommit?
    Best Regards

  • Problem with a Domain applied to an Entity attribute

    I have created a validation domain that has the following logic in it. It is simply to check to see if the account number is in the correct format. I am trying to determine if validation domains at the entity level will serve our purpose. The custom code portion of the domain is listed below.
    /**Implements domain validation logic and throws a JboException on error.
    This code checks that the account number is in the format 99999.9999.99 July 10, 2007 mb
    protected void validate() {
    if (mData != null) {
    int length = mData.length();
    if (length < 9) {
    throw new JboException("Account Number must be at least 9 long in the format of 99999.9999 or 99999.9999.99");
    char currentChar;
    for (int i = 0; i < length; i++) {
    currentChar = mData.charAt(i);
    if (i == 5 && currentChar != '.') {
    throw new JboException("Account Number must be in the format of 99999.9999.9.");
    When I apply it to the entity object initially it works well and is listed once on the Entity Attribute Type drop down list. When I test the Application Module at the Entity level (i.e. right click the Application Module and select "test", it initially works well.
    Then without explanation, I try to click on the attribute that has this domain applied to it, and I get the following NullPointerException error with the domain listed twice on the Entity Attribute Type drop down list. I can only remove the domain assigned to the Entity Attribute in the structure pane.
    Has anyone else seen this?

    Frank:
    Thanks so much for your reply. I apologize for not saying that my JDeveloper version is 10.1.3.1.0.
    And Yes, the error is NOT in the tester, it is received when I click on the Attribute that has the domain applied to it in the Entity Object Editor in the Applications Navigator therefore locking up that Entity Object Editor.
    I can only remove the domain from that entity through the structure pane attribute editor AND when I look at the available entity attribute types drop down list, there my domain (which happens to be called UWAcctNumDomain) is listed twice with the path on my 'C' drive preceding the name. When I first created the domain, it was only listed once. Somehow it is now listed twice and that may be the cause of the error.
    I am testing the usability of domains for our purposes. We are establishing re-usable business rules for our Oracle tables and establishing them in a Entity Object jar file with all relationships, column titles, history columns, etc. We would like to define as much as possible at the Model layer so that when they are re-used, those business rules are already established and therefore this will save development time.
    The reason I used the Java Code instead of Expression Language is simply that I took an example of a formatting domain from page 311 of the Oracle JDeveloper 10g Handbook and customized it for our account numbers.
    Any input you have is greatly appreciated.

  • How to find view attribute is from entity attribute programatically

    Guys,
    How to find if a specfic view attribute is from entity attribute programatically?

    Hi,
    ViewObject --> get AttributeDef("name of attribute")
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B14099_19/web.1012/b14022/oracle/jbo/StructureDef.html#getAttributeDef_int_
    AttributeDef --> getAttributeKind
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B14099_19/web.1012/b14022/oracle/jbo/AttributeDef.html
    If this matches AttributeDef.ATTR_ENTITY_DERIVED then the attribute is entity based

  • How to change the attribute name for a relation

    When the Data Modeler engineers a logical model into a relational model it create table columns for the relations. The names of the generated columns are listed in the attributes list in the properties dialog of the relation. The actual name of the attribute gets calculated by the attribute name of the entity which is part of the relation. This is okay, if there is only one relation between two entities. But when there are two relations between two entities the second attribute gets a stupid number suffix. This makes it impossible to give the attribute a useful semantic meaning.
    When I engineer the model into a relational model I can change the column name in the relational model. Changing the column name in the relational model is not perfect but it would be okay for me, if it would not be overwritten during the next engineering run.
    So I have two questions:
    How can I change the attribute name in the attributes section of the properties dialog of a relation? See here for screen shot:
    http://public.ceving.de/2012050300/relationattribute.png
    And if it is not possible:
    How can I preserve any changes on column names in the relational model during a re-engineering run?
    Edited by: 931739 on 03.05.2012 08:07

    Hi,
    I've logged an Enhancement request on this.
    I don't believe it's possible to change it from the Entity or Relationship dialog, as it's not updatable in these dialogs.
    What you can do is change it in the Relational Model, and then reverse engineer the change back to the Logical Model.

  • Display entity-attributes and global-attributes in the same screen

    Hi,
    I have a question about entity.
    Is it possible to display in the same screen, entity-attributes and global-attributes?
    thanks
    Rosalia

    Hi Rosalia,
    You can only display attributes from the current entity and the entity or entities that it is contained by (the parent entities).
    So if you had the following data model
    Global
    ..the person
    ...the income
    the person is contained by global.
    the income is contained by the person (which is contained by global).
    If you want to create a person-level question screen, you can display global attributes on that screen by using subsitution like %global_field_1%. You cannot, however, input global attributes on that screen (ONLY attributes belonging to the person)
    If you want to create an income-level question screen, you can display attributes from the person such as "tell us about %person_name%'s income..." as well as global attributes. Again, you cannot input person or global attributes on that screen (ONLY attributes belonging to the income)
    However it only works from child-to-parent containment relationships! You cannot have a global question screen which loops through the person instances and displays attributes from the person, or from the income out-of-the-box.
    We have managed to implement this using custom controls.
    You can map individual attributes back up to the parent level, and then display them,
    such as
    the first person's name = InstanceValueIf(the people, the person's name, the person's id = 1)
    the first person's name is now a global attribute and can be displayed on global question screens.
    Hope this helps!

  • Logical Model - Entity Attribute?

    Hi ,
    Thanks in responding to my posting.
    I am using SQL DM 3.0.0.665. I need your thoughs on following.
    1) Do we able to select multiple entities for entity reporting? I find an option for all entities then it ask us to pick only one entity to report.
    2) Are we able to build a report for all entities in a subview?
    3) I see Formula (Default Value), Preferred Abbreviation and Synonyms for each attribute in Entity Details report. I am not able to find a place to fill those in attribute definitions. Where can we supply those details, so it could print in reports?
    Thanks in helping us out.

    I find the following for Attribute Properties in SQL DM Help
    =============
    Attribute Properties
    This dialog box displays the properties of an attribute, which is a component of an entity in the Logical Model.
    General
    Name: Name of the attribute.
    Synonym: Synonym for the attribute.
    Preferred Abbreviation: Name that will be used for any corresponding table column during forward-engineering if the Use Preferred Abbreviations option is enabled in the Engineering dialog box.
    Long Name: Long name in the format: entity-name.attribute-name.
    Allow Nulls: Controls whether null values are allowed for the attribute. If this option is enabled, a non-null value is mandatory.
    Datatype: Enables you to specify a domain, logical type, distinct type, collection type, or structured type as the data type of the attribute. You can click the ellipsis (...) button to specify further details for the selected type.
    Entity: Name of the entity with which the attribute is associated.
    Source Name: User-specified name of the source for this attribute.
    Source Type: Manual, System, Derived, or Aggregate.
    Formula Description: For a derived or aggregate source type, the formula for the attribute.
    Scope: For a structured type with Reference enabled, limits the scope by specifying the table in which the type is implemented.
    Type Substitution: For a structured type with Reference disabled, or for a structured type applied to an entity, controls whether a substitutional structured type is generated in the DDL.
    Default and Constraint
    Constraint Name: Name of the constraint.
    Default Value: Default value for the attribute.
    Use Domain Constraints: Controls whether the properties defined in Domains Administration for the associated domain are used. If this option is disabled, you can use the remaining fields to specify the database type for the constraint and the ranges or a list of values.
    Constraint: Enables you to specify a constraint for one or more types of databases.
    Ranges: Enables you to specify one or more value ranges for the attribute.
    Value List: Enables you to specify a list of valid values for the attribute.
    Permitted Subtypes
    For a structured data type, lists all subtypes for the attribute, and lets you specify whether each is permitted for the attribute.

    but most of the above are not showing up in attribute definition window. How do we see those?
