JCAPS 5.12 - modifying SOAP header for webservice Invocation

I am trying to call an external web service from JCAPS 5.1.2 and need to set a token in the SOAP header. I am able to do this in other client implementations, however, the methods to modify the header don't seem to be exposed within JCAPS 5.1.2 or I do not know how to find the methods.
Has anyone tried this before?

Hi Experts,
I'm trying to protect a web service deployed in jcaps 5.1.1, using SAML assertions against an Access Manager 7/7.1, the web services clients are both, web and standalone applications, I also have read netbeans tutorials, that expose how to implement identity webservices using AppServer 9.1 + AccessManager 7.1 using the SAML Holder of key and other security mechanisms, but this implementation requiere modifications to the server.policy file to add support to SOAP message security providers and HttpServlet message security providers, the addition of a library called amwebservicesprovider.jar to the classpath suffix (this library implements the jsr-196 java Authentication Service Provider Interface for Containers) and aditional configuration required in the AM side that is not detailed in the tutorials.
Could someone guide me on how to protect the acces to a web services deployed in the jcaps logicalhost based on AM roles assigned to users?
Any help is aprecciated
Juan

  • How to add Custom Attributes in the SOAP header for OWSM

    Hi,
    I like to know how to add the Custom Attributes in the SOAP header for OSWM username token authentication.
    Currently we are getting the header element like
    <wsse:Security xmlns:wsse="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-secext-1.0.xsd" xmlns:wsu="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-utility-1.0.xsd">
    here we need to add the attribute "soap:mustUnderstand="1" , so the element will look like
    <wsse:Security soap:mustUnderstand="1" xmlns:wsse="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-secext-1.0.xsd" xmlns:wsu="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-utility-1.0.xsd">
    Any info on this will be helpful.
    Thanks,
    ArunM

    Hi Jay, you can make it in more than 1 way.
    I suggest you the following:
    - create an URL iview that points to any URL you want.
    - define a Resource that points to the iview (with a window name, to open in new window)
    - define an Area that points to the resource
    - add your new Area to the your current Area Group

  • Safari seems not sending If-Modified-Since header for main address

    Not sure I'm in the appropriate forum but let's try (if there is more appropriate one please advise).
    When Safari requests a resource (page, image...) to a web server it doesn't provide If-Modified-Since header for the main resource of the request. That means the web server can't answer "resource not modified, use your cache". This is not the behavior of other browsers and not good in terms of performance for the web server as well as for the user.
    However Safari sends this If-Modified-Since for the sub-elements of the resource (e.g. images, css in a page...). Which is good.
    Is there a way to influence Safari's behavior to provide a If-Modified-Since for the main resource requested to the server?
    acama,

    Found out the answer.  IIS 6 does in fact steal "If-Modified-Since" and "If-None-Match" headers, but only on custom 404 redirects.  That's actually what I'm doing here (that'll teach me not to put details in a question when I think they're irrelevant -- actually I just forgot).
    Here's two discussions on the issue (they're using ASP, but apparently it's the same for ColdFusion):

  • Can we edit SOAP Header for an Outbound ABAP Proxy message?

    Hi,
    Can we add some information such as dynamic configuration to the SOAP header for the outbound ABAP Proxy from ABAP report in SAP Application System?
    Regards,
    Praveen Gujjeti.

    Hi Praveen, have you found soulution for this? Can you share it with me?
    From here http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/d6/49543b1e49bc1fe10000000a114084/content.htm
    The help described that:
    Set logging in the message header. This means that this message is logged even if logging is deactivated explicitly in the configuration. The logging information is part of the message header:
    ¡        <SAP:Logging>1</SAP:Logging>
    Activates logging explicitly.
    ¡        <SAP:Logging>0</SAP:Logging>
    Deactivates logging explicitly.
    So it means that we can edit SOAP header for outbound ABAP proxy. But i haven't find the correct method to do that.

  • Modify SOAP header in ABAP for 3rd party WSDL

    Hi SDN,
    I want to consume a 3rd party WSDL in ABAP. I have created the proxy through SE80, and created the logical port through LPCONFIG. The WSDL I'm using needs me to include some authentication (developer key, and password) in the header portion of the SOAP message. Example below.
    <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:web="http://api.channeladvisor.com/webservices/">
       <soapenv:Header>
          <web:APICredentials>
             <web:DeveloperKey>XXX</web:DeveloperKey>
             <web:Password>XXX</web:Password>
          </web:APICredentials>
       </soapenv:Header>
       <soapenv:Body>
          <web:DoesSkuExist>
             <web:accountID>XXX</web:accountID>
             <web:sku></web:sku>
          </web:DoesSkuExist>
       </soapenv:Body>
    </soapenv:Envelope>
    How can I edit the SOAP header to include this information so that this WSDL will work when I call it? There must be a better way than hardcoding the SOAP call and using an HTTP client call.
    I've looked in google and SDN and haven't been able to find a good answer to this problem.
    Thanks guys.

    Have a search in SDN for "if_wsprotocol_ws_header" - there are several postings and examples and if you goto SE24 and look at the documentation attached to IF_WSPROTOCOL you can get to the example referred to in some of the SDN postings.  I also found "real" examples in SAP e.g. function group FITP_SABRE_WS, and I got it to work OK (eventually) after browsing some of these.

  • XML header for WebServices (SOAP)

    Hi all!
    I have quite strange problem about XML header in SOAP message for WS. Usually I don't care about XML header in SOAP message, because so far I had no problems calling load of WS on different servers. Stnadard XML header that comes out looks like this (1.0 and UTF-8 are in single quotes): <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>.
    But this time, the webserver I'm trying to call accepts only double quotes, e.g. like this: <?xml version="1.0' encoding="UTF-8"?>, it doesn't understand single quotes at all and there is no way of changing it!
    JDeveloper uses apache soap for standard and makes single quotes. I tried raw http call by wrapping all text into post method -> that works, so webservice is working.
    I can't set anything except endpoint, parameters, method :(
    How can I make call that uses double quotes?
    Pseudo logic is like this:
    Vector params = new Vector();
    params.addElement(xxxx);
    Call call=new Call("xxx", "xxx", params, xxx, Constants.NS_URI_SOAP_ENC);
    Response response = call.invoke(endpointURL, "xxx");

    Hacked Oracle (apache) classes and put right values in it.
    It was hard coded string, who on earth could thought that :D

  • How to add security credentials to SOAP header for EBS Web Service call..

    All,
    I am trying to invoke a webservice that I successfully exposed as a WSDL Web Service using EBS Integrated SOA Gateway. I am using OBIEE 11g Action Framework which uses WebLogic.
    Here are the steps I completed:
    - I exposed a WSDL web service in EBS R12 via Integrated SOA Gateway
    - I granted the access to this service in EBS R12 to user SYSADMIN
    - I used OBIEE 11g to make a Action to call the Web service (using Action Framework) by searching for the WSDL
    - When I try to execute the action: I get the error:
    Action could not be invoked.
    ServiceExecutionFailure :
    Error invoking web service HR_PHONE_API_Service at endpoint http://ip-10-87-33-3.ec2.internal:8000/webservices/SOAProvider/plsql/hr_phone_api/ Missing <wsse:Security> in SOAP Header
    PROBLEM: I am unsure how to add the credentials for SYSADMIN user and password to add the SOAP username/pwd to the outgoing call. Anyone on this forum know how to set up the SOAP to call with the correct credentials? I have been looking at the documentation but it is not clearly explained.

    Dear Heiko,
    did you solve this problem?
    We are facing the same problem. Every parameter that requries "cmd" does not work. I guess we don´t use this paramter the right way.
    Best, Chris

  • Adding WS Security in SOAP header for calling soap services from PI

    When i am calling a wss enabled webservice from soapui with the header parameters

    Web Services Security option selected in soap receiver adapter
    In Receiver Agrrement -
    Security Standard -  http://docs.oasis ....
    Security Procedure (Request) - None
    Security Procedure (response) - None
    the user tokens don't seem to generated and it is giving an authentication error . Is there any process of generating this in the outgoing soap header from PI.
    SOAP Axis framework is not installed at present  and working on PI 7.1 SP6.
    Looking forward for your replies

    same issue for me too.
    Try using WS adapter on receiver side .
    If you are able to attach SOAP header with WSSE fields using SOAP adapter at reciever channel let me know how you did it.

  • Accessing Soap header in webservices

    Hi,
    My webservice needs to read a soap header "locale" and do some processing based on this soap header.
    I understand the concept of handlers..but anywhere I see examples, the handler handles it and returns the data back.
    My requirement is that once this locale is retrieved, each of the webservice method should be able to read this locale, and do some processing based on that, as they need to return the localized data.
    I am not sure if I am missing something, but not yet able to find a direct way of doing it..
    Any response would be highly appreciated..
    Thanks

  • OSB: Attach SOAP Header for SOAP Fault

    Hi,
    Is there a way to return OSB SOAP Fault with custom SOAP Header?
    Currently, when SOAP Fault happens, SOAP Header is not returned. I would like to insert some elements in the SOAP header and return when SOAP Fault happens.
    Thanks.

    Hi Eric,
    Thanks for your tips. It was helpful!
    I've managed to insert custom SOAP header to a SOAP fault.
    In service error handler,
    1. Construct custom header and replace header variable content
    2. Replace body content with fault variable
    3. Reply with failure
    Thanks.

  • How do pass the UserID and Password in the SOAP header for web services

    I am encountering issues trying to pass the userid and password in the SOAP header when consuming a 3rd party web service.  Rostewitz posted something similiar but I don't know how to type iv_xml.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    jpina

    It helps to post a link to a thread when you refer to it.  If you are trying to implement that solution though, you can look at the parameter of the corresponding method being called.  The parameter has type 'SIMPLE' which means that it is compatible with all of the predefined elementary ABAP types.  In this case, you should use 'STRING'.

  • Modify SOAP Namespace for ABAP WS

    Hi Experts,
    I need to modify namespace on the web service, I have to provide this WS from an ABAP AS 7.0 SP10 (we don't have XI or PI infrastructure) but the request generated from SAP WSDL is like this:
    <soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:urn="urn:sap-com:document:sap:soap:functions:mc-style">
       <soap:Body>
          <urn:GetExAvailability>
         </urn:GetExAvailability>
    is it possible to change this name space urn="urn:sap-com:document:sap:soap:functions:mc-style" and the prefix "urn" before "GetEx..."?
    From Service Definition in the transaction SE80 the SOAP NameSpace is read only, but the customer that have to use this WS, use a request(that they can't modify) like this:
    <soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
      <soap:Body>
        <GetExAvailability xmlns="http://www.aaaaaa.de/">
        </GetExAvailability>
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hi Max,
    we are facing a similar problem and would like to change a namespace from "urn:sap-com:document:sap:soap:functions:mc-style" to "urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions"
    Did you find a solution to the problem?
    I found the explanations on how the the different namespaces work, but there is no documentation on where this namespace is configured or how to change it.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    we have tried out SyncMaxWaitTime Property in BPEL configurations through SOA administration menu of EM. Also tried by increasing JTA timeout seconds in Service--JTA @ weblogic console.
    Any suggestion or pointers..

    Hi,
    Could help set the following...
    The timeouts should be configured based on the below condition
    SyncMaxWaitTime < BPEL EJB's transaction timeout < Global Transaction Timeout
    The values could be: SyncMaxWaitTime (3600) ; BPEL EJB's transaction timeout (3600); Global Transaction Timeout JTA (7200)
    Setting the SyncMaxWaitTime :
    This is the maximum time a synchronous BPEL process waits before it times out to get the response from another BPEL or a web service
    Login to EM console
    Expand SOA and right click on "soa-infra"
    From context menu, select SOA Administration –> BPEL properties
    Click on "More BPEL Configuration properties"
    Enter the appropriate value for the SyncMaxWaitTime
    Setting the global transaction timeout at Weblogic Domain Level:
    This property controls the transaction timeout seconds for active transactions. If the transaction is still in the "active" state after this time, it is automatically rolled back.
    Log into Oracle Weblogic Administration Console.
    Click Services -> JTA.
    Change the value of Timeout Seconds to the required value (the default is 30)
    Click Save.
    Restart Oracle Weblogic Server.
    Overriding the transaction timeout setting for BPEL EJB's:
    The timeout properties for the EJB's control the particular timeout setting for the SOA application, overriding the global setting specified by the JTA timeout
    Log into Oracle Weblogic Administration Console.
    Click Deployments.
    Expand soa-infra -> EJBs.
    Click on the configuration tab for the timeout setting for each of EJB’s listed below and the change the time out values as required.
    Following EJBs need to be updated:
    BPELActivityManagerBean
    BPELDeliveryBean
    BPELDispatcherBean
    BPELEngineBean
    BPELFinderBean
    BPELInstanceManagerBean
    BPELProcessManagerBean
    BPELSensorValuesBean
    BPELServerManagerBean
    Click Save.
    Restart Oracle Weblogic Server.
    I hope you find it useful!

  • Proxy Settings for WebService invocation

    Hi,
    I have a bean which is exposed as a WebService on WebAS on a machine A. Within this bean, I call another WebService, which is NOT running on WebAS but on Axis on another machine B.
    For the call to the WebService I have NOT generated a proxy in Netweaver Developer Studio, but have created the Stub with Axis WSDL2Java tool. (When I tried to generate the proxies in Developer Studio it would say there was a problem during generation, without giving any details).
    When I call the Axis WebService from a browser on machine A, everything works fine, provided that I've set the right proxy settings.
    I can also use the generated Stubs to call the service. However, when I call it from within the beans running in WebAs, I get a timeout, obviously due to inadequate proxy settings in WebAS.
    Now, I've searched through the administration guide and tried to do the configuration as described in
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/7c/f257422d095542e10000000a1550b0/content.htm
    But this showed no effect. I also restarted the server to ensure that the configuration is updated properly.
    (As a test I also tried to change the WS Clients Socket timeout, but for some reason this timeout did not change when I had restarted the server and tried the Web Service again (from Web Service Navigator). So I don't even know if I am configuring the right settings..)
    Does anybody have an idea what I'm doing wrong or which other configuration I might have to set?
    Thanks alot for any help..
    Katrin.

    Hello Katrin,
    did you solve your problem mentioned above?
    If yes, could you please describe me, what kind of settings you have made in the visual admin to test the webservice without connection time out?
    Thank you in advance for your help.
    Kind regards, Patrick.
