Jdev 11g Production - Unable to edit EO/ VOs from Application Navigator

I created an ADF Model project. In this project I created ADF's 'Business Components from Tables' using the wizard. I went through the wizard and created EO, VO, AM and business diagram. After that, I was able to execute the AM (right-click and Run), but when I tried to open the EO or VO to edit properties (Right-click and Open), I was unable to do so.
I have created a word document with snapshots of the steps followed and the error I got. Please find it here - http://files.oraclecorp.com/content/AllPublic/SharedFolders/EBS%20Integrations%20Shared-Public/Errors_ADF_BC.doc
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I suspect a usual useful drive-by-answer from dvohra.
user8028667, under JDev 11g you're right, it should be right click > Open (entity name). This should open the Entity Object document window.
Unfortunately the link you've provided appears to be internal to Oracle and can't be viewed by the vast majority of readers on this external Oracle forum. I'm guessing you're an Oracle employee because of the link you supplied. The Oracle JDev PMs normally point Oracle employees to post on internal forums, not external customer forums.

CM.

  • JDev 11g update 1 base edition on windows: error building default domain

    Hi all,
    (refer to [url http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=3168105]here for original post)
    I'm posting this again with some more information. When downloading the Studio Edition (Base - no JDK) version of JDeveloper 11g update 1, an error occurs upon first (and each subsequent) startup of JDeveloper (error details below).
    Tests that I have done:
    1). Install using JDK 6 u 11 - JDK did not show up automatically in the installer, had to browse to find it and select it. Running using 6u11, 6u10, and 6u7 (deleting the system directory after each try) - error occurs.
    2). Install using JDK 6 u7 - JDK was automatically found by the installer. Running using 6u7, 6u11, and 6u10 (deleting the system directory after each try) - error occurs
    These errors do not occur when using the Windows installer. For information: my machine is Windows 2008 Server Standard 32-bit. An update - I just tried this on a Vista 64-bit laptop (running Sun 32-bit JDK 6u10) and did not have the problem. Ergo, this seems to be an issue with the JDK and detecting Windows 2008 as a Windows platform (or possibly with whatever mechanism JDev/WLS is using to detect the OS platform). I'll do more research on that and update if I find anything.
    One more update: I didn't find any issues reported like this related to Windows 2008, but I did one more test: install and run JDeveloper using:
    java version "1.6.0_05"
    Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_05-b13)
    BEA JRockit(R) (build R27.6.0-50_o-100423-1.6.0_05-20080626-2105-windows-ia32, compiled mode)                                                                   The issue does not occur using this JDK. So to summarize, installing JDev 11g update 1 Studio edition, base installer using any of the SUN JDK's on Windows 2008 gives this problem. Using the windows installer or JRockit Mission Control JVM - no problems.
    Finally, one last update - the error is related to the JVM that is used to install, not the one used to run JDeveloper (via editing jdev.conf) - the offending JDK is in wlserver_10.3\common\bin\commEnv.cmd. Seems like a no-no to have one JDK running JDev and another running the integrated WLS, though. Quite a pity, as JDev starts up pretty slowly using JRockit Mission Control.
    JRockit Realtime seems to be a bit faster... sigh - now to remove the 72 extra JDK's on my laptop ;)
    My going forward plan: use the Windows installer. Wish I never installed Windows Server 2008.

  • Jdev 11g Production: Connection Name FOD Not Defined (Tutorial: ADF Visuali

    I tried out the following tutorial: ADF Visualization Components. I follow the step by step to install Jdev 11g and the FOD schemas. The step by step tutorial is helpful but ran into a problem in the beginning when I tried to run the FOD Module as stated. The following message came up when I right click the FODModule and select run, "Connection Name FOD Not Defined". I have created the connection as stated in the tutorial and can access the FOD database and see the tables.
    I search the form and I don't see anyone else running into the same problem. Can any help me out.

    Hi,
    try the following: Select the model project and expand it until you see the ApplicationModule. Right click the module and choose "configure" from the context menu. Then "edit". Set the database connection to JEE data source. Rin the app again

    Kindly let know what is issue or how to resolve this error

    Ok,lets give it a shot. Can you please check if you have any Security Classifications added by navigating to Records->Configure->Security->Security Classification
    If you do not see any entries here, then use the Add button to add the following
    - No Markings
    - Secret
    - Top Secret
    - Confidential
    Now try to update the user info using the admin applet. In the edit window assign Security Classification to "No Markings" and try submitting the update. Let us know what is the outcome.
    I completely agree with William on his analysis. Please try these steps if you are working on a Dev/POC instance.

  • Unable to edit photo imported from iphone 4S

    Hello,
    After I imported photos from my iPhone 4S to my PC (with Windows 7) every picture that I try to edit (rotate) I receive an error: "Windows Photo Viewr can't save the changes to this picture because there's a problem with the picture's file proprietes"
    I checked the proprietes and all seems to be ok
    Any ideea what is the problem?
    Thanks

    On XP, this fixed the problem for me:  When you connect your iPod to your PC, use the Microsoft Scanner and Camera Wizard to import the pictures.  I was just going directly to the folder and copying them to my PC manually and was getting the error.  Using the Wizard, everything works fine.  Hope this helps.

  • Unable to edit pictures imported from iPhone 5

    When I import pictures from iPhone 5 on my PC, I can not edit these with Windows Photo Gallery or Photoshop. I read some posts about the same problem with iPhone 4. Can't believe the problem is not solved yet. Paint seems to be a good option but isn't there an easier way?

    Thats a PC problem, not an iphone problem.

  • JDev 11g Pr3 Not able to switch schema on database navigator

    I have a schema called FACETSEDI that is used to access a schema named FACETS.
    When I connect to the DB using the FACETSEDI login, I can run queries against the FACETS tables, but I can't browse them, since the navigator is pointing at the FACETSEDI schema.
    Is there some custom JDBC URL I can use to cause the connection to force a switch on the session (simulate a ALTER SESSION SET current_schema = facets) ?

    Absolutely:
    1. Start JDeveloper
    2. Go to the database navigator
    3. Create a connection to the database
    username: facetsedi
    password: mypassword
    driver: thin
    hostname: facets
    SID: facets1
    4. Connect to the database
    5. Expand the Tables node - and all I see are tables in the FACETSEDI schema
    What I need is to be able to see the tables in the FACETS schema.
    Can't find a way to specify this with a custom JDBC setting (like with SQL server I could specify a parameter in the URL to connect to the correct database schema).
    There used to be a "show all schemas" setting on the IDE that let you pick which schema you wanted to see.

    I was following the tutorial under Build a Web Application with JDeveloper 11g Using EJB, JPA, and JavaServer Faces
    Section 19 says to run application under OC4J,
    <strong>19.</strong> Right click the <strong>HRFacadeBean</strong> in the Application Navigator and select <strong>Run</strong> from the context menu to launch the facade bean in the Embedded OC4J sever.
    Curently OC4J not available under JDev 11g Production version, so it runs under Web-logic Server which comes with JDeveloper 11g. Please see the log below:

    Regards,
    Santhosh

    Hi Heidi,
    I tried once again to install a fresh instance of Oracle soa suite 10.1.3.0 and upgraded it to 10.1.3.4 successfully. I did all the JDeveloper 11g installation and configure SOA process all successfully. I can create a connection to OC4J using 12401 RMI port successfully but none of my applications are deployed to server.
    This message is repeatedly displaying in messages tab:
    Exception returned by remote server: com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIConnectionException: Disconnected: oracle.oc4j.admin.management.shared.SharedModuleType. local class incompatible during deploy ...
    The default OC4J RMI port is 23791 but in my installation it is set to 12401 when I checked the Runtime Port option of Oracle Application Server and the connection is fine with this port but applications can not be deployed with this configuration.
    I can deploy applications on separate standalone OC4J instance successfully but not able to do it with my SOA application server.
    Any comments will be appreciated.
    Thanks again
    Esfand

  • JDev 11g on WebLogic+TopLink+Web Services (getSharedSession() Disconnects)

    I am facing an issue while using {color:#0000ff}TopLink{color} through a {color:#0000ff}web service{color} request.
    I apologize for a lengthy posting but thought I should give as much information as possible.
    <strong><u>Migration from TP4 to JDev 11g Production
    </u></strong>I am in a process of {color:#0000ff}migration{color} of an application from {color:#0000ff}JDeveloper 11g TP4 to JDeveloper 11g Production{color}.
    I am facing an issue using {color:#0000ff}TopLink{color} with {color:#0000ff}Web Services{color} on {color:#0000ff}Oracle WebLogic 10g Release 3.
    {color}
    <strong><u>Existing Application</u></strong>
    This application uses {color:#0000ff}TopLink{color} and also has{color:#0000ff} JAX-WS{color} based web services.
    The web services client calls the service endpoint that internally uses {color:#0000ff}TopLink{color} to make database calls.
    We currently use {color:#0000ff}Tomcat{color} for deployment and the application works fine.
    <strong><u>Issue while moving to Oracle WebLogic 10g R3
    </u></strong>While porting this application to WebLogic we faced an issue wherein a call to the {color:#0000ff}web service{color} results in {color:#0000ff}disconnection{color} of existing {color:#0000ff}TopLink{color} {color:#000080}server session{color} and creation of new ones.
    Some surfing on the net indicated that this could be due to the different class loaders that are used to access the TopLink server session.
    You must login to the ServerSession before acquiring ClientSessions

    James,
    My issue is resolved. Thanks for your tip.
    I am using {color:#0000ff}SessionManager.getSession(...{color}
    Solution:*
    I changed the class loader while getting a session.
    I had to extend the {color:#0000ff}SessionFactory{color} and override {color:#0000ff}both{color} the {color:#0000ff}getSharedSession(){color} methods while replacing {color:#ff0000}getClass().getClassLoader(){color} with {color:#0000ff}&lt;MyLocatorSingletonBean&gt;.getInstance().getClass().getClassLoader().{color}
    Regrding Server Sessions*
    While posting the question I had started thinking in the same direction of having sever sessions as singleton/Spring bean but sine this will change a lot of things in my current framework so decided I just use the above solution for now.
    Really appreciated!

  • Jdev 11g: Can "adfBundle is unkown variable" be ignored?

    Hi,
    Jdev 11g production release.
    If resource bundles are used to create multi-langual applications then the jspx contains following code:
    <c:set var="viewcontrollerBundle"
    value="#{adfBundle['view.ViewControllerBundle']}"/>
    With this code following warning occures in IDE editor: adfBundle is unknown variable.
    Can I ignore this?
    Is this a known issue?
    regards
    Peter

    Hello Steve,
    1) Create a new jspx
    2) drag e.g. a command button to the new page
    3) Use a resource bundle instead of the "fixed string" for the button text.
    4) check jspx source for "adfBundle"
    Here the sample code of my page:
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='windows-1252'?>
    <jsp:root xmlns:jsp="http://java.sun.com/JSP/Page" version="2.1"
              xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core"
              xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html"
              xmlns:af="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces/rich"
              xmlns:c="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core">
      <c:set var="viewcontrollerBundle"
             value="#{adfBundle['view.ViewControllerBundle']}"/>
      <jsp:directive.page contentType="text/html;charset=windows-1252"/>
      <f:view>
        <af:document binding="#{backingBeanScope.backing_PageTitle.document1}"
                     id="document1" title="#{viewcontrollerBundle.PAGE_TITLE}">
          <af:form binding="#{backingBeanScope.backing_PageTitle.form1}" id="form1">
            <af:commandButton text="#{viewcontrollerBundle.BUTTON_GERMAN_LABEL}"
                              binding="#{backingBeanScope.backing_PageTitle.commandButton1}"
                              id="commandButtonGerman"
                              action="#{backingBeanScope.backing_PageTitle.commandButtonGerman_action}"
                              partialSubmit="true"/>
            <af:commandButton text="#{viewcontrollerBundle.BUTTON_ENGLISH_LABEL}"
                              binding="#{backingBeanScope.backing_PageTitle.commandButton2}"
                              id="commandButtonEnglish"
                              action="#{backingBeanScope.backing_PageTitle.commandButtonEnglish_action}"
                              partialSubmit="true"/>
          </af:form>
        </af:document>
      </f:view>

    Is IE running in compatibility mode, and if you're accessing CA from the SharePoint server, did you run it "As Administrator"?

  • Unable to Give Input for my Program in JDEV 11g(11.1.1.3.0)

    I'm using Windows 7_Ultimate -32 Bit OS with Administrator Priviliges
    I'm trying to Run The Following Program
    package appln;
    import java.util.Scanner;
    public class arr {
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    Scanner so = new Scanner(System.in);
    System.out.println("Enter a value into variableID");
    int id = so.nextInt();
    System.out.println("Variable ="+id);
    I'm getting the following errors in "Extensions" Sub window of Output window
    oracle.BC4J:
    Warning: Classpath entry D:\Oracle\Middleware\jdeveloper\jdev\extensions\oracle.jdeveloper.junit\junit4.5\junit-4.5.jar not found.

    The MAIN purpose of the program is to Accept input into variable named id and display to output.
    Program Compiled Successfully but while the program is running,
    Out put is "Enter a value into variableID"
    And i'm unable to give input i.e unable to place cursor to give input
    Also i've configured the Input Settings as Mentioned in the BLOG at "http://blogs.oracle.com/shay/2008/02/enabling_user_input_when_runni.html"
    Even though the same thing thing is being repeated
    But when i've run the program in NET BEANS IDE 6.9.1, the program is compiled and runned well.

    John Stegeman WROTE: " Any way to avoid what, exactly?"
    I mean that every time we need to insert the cursor into INPUT field using mouse then input the value and press enter.
    But for large input's it becomes tedious to each time place the cursor in Input field.
    SO i meant to avoid this.
    How can i avoid this.
    Also you've mentioned me to run program's out of JDEV, if i do so i will be mising the Beauty and Advanced Capabilities of "ORACLE JDEV 11G".
    So i can't use any other IDE Than JDEV.
    Also can we Modify the way JDEV prompts for input's rather than this INPUT Field i.e by enabling the user input field for every program.
    If there any, please mention.
    Thanks for help in advance :)
