JDeveloper 11g TP 4 Custom Extensions

Hello.
I'm trying to develop an Extension for JDeveloper 11G TP 4. I'd like to know, if it is possible to access a JDeveloper IDE Connection (Database connection), and use this connection to query some information on the database ?
Thanks a lot.
Sincerely,
John

To use the database connection APIs in an extension, add a dependency from your extension to
Database Connection Support (oracle.jdeveloper.db.connection)
Database Features (JDeveloper) (oracle.jdeveloper.db)
Then you can use the oracle.jdeveloper.db.DatabaseConnections API to list/get connection information.
To get the central connections for the IDE use DatabaseConnections.getInstance()
To get the connections for a given Application use AppDatabaseConnections.getAppDatabaseConnections()
From a DatabaseConnections object you can:
- get the java.sql.Connection to the database - getConnection( name )
- get the Properties for the connection - getProperties( name )
- get the oracle.javatools.db.Database that provides an API for getting at the objects (e.g. Tables) in the database dictionary - getDatabase( name )

  • Soa 11g and jdeveloper 11g user defined extension function

    I have developed a set of extension functions,
    in design time for the previous version, I can put the deployment file (jar file) that contains the extension functions in the %JDEV_HOME%\jdev\lib\ext directory and jdeveloper recognizes the set of extension functions if previously i have defined an xml descriptor with every one of the functions i need to include in the panel.
    Now, with the jdeveloper 11g i have tried the same, and jdev recognizes the functions, but when I am going to test one transformation that includes the extension function, the parser is not founding the jar file; the error (in spanish) is:
    XML-22045: (Error) Error de funcion de extension: No se ha encontrado la clase '
    Falta la clase: aac._shared.extensions.xsl.XmlW3cDomFunctions
    Clase Dependiente: oracle.xml.xpath.XSLExtFunctions
    Cargador: main:11.0
    Origen del Codigo: /C:/.extracted/jdevstudio1111/lib/xmlparserv2.jar
    Configuraci≤n: system property PCLMain.createExtensionManagerLoader()
    Esta carga se ha iniciado en main:11.0 mediante el mΘtodo loadClass().
    La clase que falta no esta disponible desde ningun origen de codigo o cargador del sistema.
    my dude is:
    + at design time, where can I put the jars with extension functions to make one transformation function used in a mediator component can works fine?
    + at runtime, where can I put those libraries? (in the previous version, we can put this libraries in the %APP_SERVER%\j2ee\home\applib, or create one shared library and reference it in the oracle.bpel.common shared library declaration of the server.xml configuration file).

    Hi,
    please post this question to the JDeveloper 11 forum. Please translate the messages into English as well

  • Jdeveloper 11g: how to change the extension library Oracle JDBC

    Hello
    We use JDeveloper 11g for our desktop (swing) projects. When I debug the project in IDE, the classpath includes this jar: C:\Oracle\jdevstudio1117\oracle_common\modules\oracle.jdbc_11.1.1\ojdbc6dms.jar
    The ojdbc6dms.jar is in Oracle JDBC extension library. We actually want to use ojdbc14dms.jar as our jdbc library jar. I exclude the ojdbc6dms.jar in the project classpath setting and add a user library for ojdbc14dms.jar. When I run the project, the IDE still use ojdbc6dms.jar in the classpath. I try to use "Manage Libraries" under "Tools" menu to change the jar file in Oracle JDBC extension library, but it cannot be changed.
    Can I ask how to change ojdbc6dms.jar to ojdbc14dms.jar in Oracle JDBC? Or, how can I let the IDE not use ojdbc6dms.jar when I run the project? Thank you
    Leaf

    Replace the ojdbc6dms.jar with ojdbc14dms.jar in C:\Oracle\jdevstudio1117\oracle_common\modules\oracle.jdbc_11.1.1
    The ojdbc14dms.jar may be required to be renamed to ojdbc6dms.jar in the C:\Oracle\jdevstudio1117\oracle_common\modules\oracle.jdbc_11.1.1 as the pre-configured settings are for ojdbc6dms.jar.

  • Custom / DatabaseLoginModule in JDeveloper 11g

    Hello,
    first many thanks to Frank Nimphius providing us with some information about Authentification and Authorization in the ADF Code Corner.
    But please can you give us some information how to use/configure a custom LoginModule (DBSystemLoginModule and DBTableLoginModule) in Jdeveloper 11g.
    It's a little bit frustrating that we have this discussion in 10.1.3 and now with 11g again. There are again only out-of-the-box support for XML and LDAP and nothing about the most common way of database login.
    There are many enterprises didn't use LDAP today (explicit if there are some older Forms-Applications in the environment) and for applications with user-self-registration like shops you have to use a DBTableLogin.
    So please can you provide us with some more information about how to do /configue such login variants in 11g?
    Thanks and best regards

    Hi,
    I agree that it is kind of a step back that with WebLogic Server the integration of custom LoginModules has changed. I started a little side project of mine (as my manager would call it) to build an WLS authentication provider for the DBTableLoginModule. Once I am done with this, a simple JAR file is all you need to get the DBTable LoginModule functionality back to work.

    Hi,
    I think this is more a SUN issue as an installer issue as I take it from the message you get. Anyway, best recommandation I can give is to work with customer support on tracing down the issue

  • Problem with tutorial; "Build a Web Application with JDeveloper 11g Using "

    I've got a rather new installation of Vista Business x64 on my developer rig, and last week I installed the new JDeveloper 11g version. The installation was all-inclusive, no customization on my end.
    In addition I've got a test installation of an Oracle DB 11gR1 on an available server here.
    To familiarize myself with the new JDeveloper I decided to spend some time with the JDeveloper 11g tutorials found here: http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe11jdev/11/index.html.
    I've started twice on the second tutorial, "Build a Web Application with JDeveloper 11g Using EJB, JPA, and JavaServer Faces", and find myself repeatedly stuck at step 19 in section "Creating the Data Model and Testing it".
    It seems impossible to deploy the application to the default application server. The server starts fine on its own, I can access it via the admin console on port 7001 and it looks good. However, when I try to run the HRFacadeBean funny things are happening, symptomized by the following error messages seen in the IDE log-area:
    The "Messages" pane displays:

    I'm not that familiar with these things but it seems to me that there is an issue with port numbers here. The application seems to expect a app.server service at port 7101, but does'nt find one.
    Any suggestions on how to fix this problem would be appreciated?

    Jupp,
    It fails in a similar way.
    What I did was; create a simle 'Hello World' html file, saving it with the jsp extension. In Jdev11g i made a new application and an emtpy project, then loaded the jsp file and made it the default run-target. This compiles nicely.
    When running the project it first attempts to start the WebLogicServer (WLS). After a few minutes it is started as seen in the "Running: DefaultServer" pane:

    DefaultServer startup time: 121552 ms.
    DefaultServer started.
    In the "Messages" pane, however, things are not looking so good:
    Context: MakeProjectAndDependenciesCommand application=TestAppJsp.jws project=TestProjJsp.jpr
    [7:20:49 PM] Successful compilation: 0 errors, 0 warnings.
    [Application TestAppJsp is bound to Server Instance DefaultServer]
    [Starting Server Instance DefaultServer]
    #### Server Instance DefaultServer could not be started: Server Instance was terminated.
    But, of course, the server is actually running as I can access it via its Admin Console.
    So, I try to run the project again, and this time the following is shown in the "Messages" pane:
    Compiling...
    Context: MakeProjectAndDependenciesCommand application=TestAppJsp.jws project=TestProjJsp.jpr
    [7:26:39 PM] Successful compilation: 0 errors, 0 warnings.
    [Application TestAppJsp is bound to Server Instance DefaultServer]
    [Starting Server Instance DefaultServer]
    #### Server Instance DefaultServer could not be started: Server Instance was terminated.
    The "Running: DefaultServer" now comes up with:
    C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\base_domain\bin\startWebLogic.cmd
    [waiting for the server to complete its initialization...]
    [Server Instance DefaultServer is shutting down.  All applications currently running will be terminated and undeployed.]
    Process exited.
    The WLS is still running though as I can still access its adm console.
    To me it seems that it is attempting to start a separate instance of the WLS for each run attempt, but then I could be wrong.....:(
    Later I'll try to change the default WLS port from 7001 to 7101 as suggested in another port here.
    I must admit that I'm a bit surprised that the JDev11g doesn't work fine at this very simple level when performing a default install.

  • DBTransactionStateListener not working properly in JDeveloper 11g TP4

    Hi All
    I've created a custom DCTransactionStateListener and implement transactionStateChanged(boolean state) method. When the db transaction state is being changed i set a parameter in the HttpSession. I need this in order to know if transaction is dirty.
    In JDeveloper 11g TP3 it's working properly, but now i test it in TP4 and it's not working. The method is not called. I've tried with delete and modify existing rows, but the method transactionStateChanged(boolean state) was not called.
    Please anyone give some help to resolve this.
    Regards,
    JavaDeVeLoper

    In general, you should be able to reference the isTransactionDirty() property of the data control without needing to create your own custom listener here, but it looks like for the TP4 and later builds, if you do want a custom DCTransactionStateListener, you'll need to override the
    package model.utils;
    import oracle.adf.model.bc4j.DataControlFactoryImpl;
    public class MyDataControlFactoryImpl extends DataControlFactoryImpl {
      public MyDataControlFactoryImpl() {
      protected String getDataControlClassName() {
        return MyCustomDCJboDataControl.class.getName();
    package model.utils;
    import oracle.jbo.common.ampool.SessionCookie;
    import oracle.jbo.uicli.binding.JUApplication;
    public class MyCustomDCJboDataControl extends JUApplication {
      public MyCustomDCJboDataControl() {
        addTransactionStateListener(new MyDCTransactionStateListener());
      public MyCustomDCJboDataControl(SessionCookie sessionCookie)
         super(sessionCookie);
         addTransactionStateListener(new MyDCTransactionStateListener());
    }

  • Need to get filename from custom extension

    Hello,
    I am currently writing a custom extension and I'm having a tough time trying to get the filename of the document (java file) of the currently selected (and opened) file. So I have a java file open and right click on it to launch my extension. How do I get information on that document?
    Also is there javadocs for the extsnsion API's? If so where are they located.
    Thanks in advance!
    Bill

    Hi Bill,
    You can find javadoc on the extension API via the help system (JDeveloper Extension SDK topic under the Reference section). Alternatively, you can extract the contents of the ${jdevhome}/jdev/doc/ohj/jdev-doc.jar to a directory somewhere to view the javadoc in a browser.
    To get the filename of a document, assuming you're using 10g (not much different from 9.0.x), you need to get an instance of oracle.ide.addin.Context. Normally, you'll have a Context instance because you're implementing your logic in a Controller or a Command subclass. If not, you can obtain one using:
    Ide.getMainWindow().getLastActiveView().getContext()Once you have the context, you can get the current selection from it. If that selection implements oracle.ide.model.Locatable, it has a URL. From the URL, you can get the filename:
    import oracle.ide.model.Element;
    import oracle.ide.model.Locatable;
    import java.net.URL;
    import oracle.ide.net.URLFileSystem;
    Element[] selection = context.getSelection();
    if ( selection != null )
      if ( selection[0] instanceof Locatable )
        URL url = ((Locatable)selection[0]).getURL();
        String filePath = URLFileSystem.getPlatformPathName(
          url
    }One final thing, if the current view is an editor, the selection may be empty or will not contain Locatables. If that's the case, you might want to get the Document from the Context instead. I.e.:
    URL url = context.getDocument().getURL();
    String filePath = URLFileSystem.getPlatformPathName(
      url
    );Thanks,
    Brian

  • No "Portlet Producer Application" in JDeveloper 11G

    Hi Everyone;
    I have been asked do some WSRP portlet development for Weblogic. following this tutorial, I donwloaded JDeveloper 11g. However there is no "Portlet Producer Application" option under "New Application".
    What am I doing wrong?
    Regards
    Gerhard

    Hi,
    se the Important Note in the web of product. http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/downloads/index.html
    your JDev version not include SOA and Webcenter Extensions
    you'll need to download Oracle JDeveloper 11.1.1.6.0.

  • Create LifeRay portlet in JDeveloper 11g

    Hi...
    I want to create LifeRay JSF portlets using JDeveloper 11g is there any plugin or any tutorial which guides in this process?
    Thanks
    Feras

    Well, in JDeveloper 11g, you can install the Webcenter design-time extension via help->check for updates (Oracle Webcenter Framework and Services Design Time)
    Once you've installed that, you can create JSR-168 portlets using JDeveloper as documented [url http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15523_01/webcenter.1111/e10148/jpsdg_java_intro.htm#CEGDCAEE]here.
    Nothing specific for LifeRay, though. If you have specific questions, you would probably have better luck on the Webcenter forum.

  • Problem with BundleUtils class in Oracle JDeveloper 11g Cookbook

    Hi All,
    While practising Using a custom exception class, in the first chapter of Oracle Jdeveloper 11g cookbook, author states:
    Note that in the Using a generic backing bean actions framework recipe
    in this chapter, we refactored the code in getMessage() to a reusable
    BundleUtils.loadMessage() method. Consequently, we changed the
    ExtJboException getMessage() in that recipe to the following:
    +public String getMessage() {+
    return BundleUtils.loadMessage(this.getErrorCode(),
    this.getErrorParameters());
    +}+
    Whereas no details of BundleUtils class is given in Using a generic backing bean actions framework recipe, which is giving compilation errors for CommonActions class.
    Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance
    Best Regards
    Bilal

    Bilal,
    you are missing some points here. This is the jdev and adf forum. We don't have access to the code you mention. So we can't help you as long as you don't post the code here (which I doubt you are allowed to).
    Next, if you read https://forums.oracle.com/forums/ann.jspa?annID=56 you should have noticed that without giving at least your jdev version, help is hart to get.
    As said in the other thread, you should drop Nick a note so he can clarify this issue.

  • Jdeveloper 11g Migration to 11.1.1.0.1 build 5188

    Hi Jdev team,
    1) the new update 11.1.1.0.1 build 5188 is out, but on the download site the filenames are still jdevstudio11110install.exe and jdevstudio11110install.bin
    Has some one a good explanation for this dirty updating approach?
    2) After installing the new Jdev version (11.1.1.0.1 build 5188) I migrated my project (project files, jstl, weblogic-application.xml, and what ever) and build the new EAR file. Now I am trying to redeploy this EAR on our integration system (which is already out to the customer) WLS103 on OEL 5.x . Of course I get the following exception:
    ERR An error occurred during activation of changes, please see the log for details.
    ERR Error weblogic.management.DeploymentException:
    ERR Error oracle.adf.share.weblogic.listeners.ADFApplicationLifecycleListener
    INFO Success Selected Deployments were updated.
    I think because the ADF Runtime Libs are still in version adf.oracle.domain(1.0,11.1.1.0.0)
    So what is the official migration path?
    Thanks for any advices,
    Andreas.

    Hi John,
    Just start the online update tool.
    You will see a hint: „JDeveloper 11g (11.1.1.0.1) is Aviable.“
    Press the „Select All“ button, then „Next“.
    Check the „Summery“ box.
    Click Finish and see the „Confirm Exit“ text and press „Yes“ to restart JDeveloper.
    And now after running this course and rechecking the result against your (very comprehensible) assumptions tell me something about professionalism...
    I wasn't talking about any whatever update in the future, but about this very real one.
    Sorry John, but sarcasm from your site is absolutely inopportune at this point.
    Andre
