JDeveloper 903 with OC4J 904 container

I have JDeveloper 9.0.3 with OC4J container 9.0.4.
Is this an oracle supported configuration?

In it I have some problem.
Not stable Run of the project in Jdev 9.0.3.2 (c embedded OC4J 9.0.4)
Thanks

  • Replace Orion.jar with Oc4j.jar, Changing the container

    Hi
    I'll be really appreciate any help.
    My application( web-based application based on Forms6i) is working fine with Orion.jar. I would like to upgrade this structure to Oracle9iDS using Oc4j.jar instead of orion. I have a main.jsp ( http://www.bmhub.com) file that after getting username/password, opens another window to show the main menu including all options(forms6i).With "Orion.jar" it works fine, I get message "Login ok" and so on.
    I installed Oracle9iDS and I changed application.xml in "C:\oracle\Forms9i\j2ee\Oracle9iDS\config". After starting startinst.bat ( contains oc4j.jar), I entered username/password but I get message that "some fileds are blanks" and "Login Failed". when I changed the oc4j.jar to orion.jar, the sartinst.bat disappeared after 1 second.
    Also I tried to replace most of the files in "C:\oracle\Forms9i\j2ee\Oracle9iDS\config" with my old configuration ( Orion configuration), the startinst with orion.jar works fine and I'm able to enter username/password. but nothing more. the forms9i dosent work anymore.(error HTTP 500).
    Could you please help me?
    regards,

    Hi,
    It seems getParameter() just returns null. I use it in my User.java file to login from main.jsp page.
    public void configure(HttpServletRequest request)
              setUserName(request.getParameter(User.USER_NAME));
              setPassword(request.getParameter(User.PASSWORD));
              setCompany(request.getParameter(User.COMPANY));
              if ( (request.getParameter(MODE)!=null) && !request.getParameter(MODE).trim().equals(""))
                   try
                        setPartnerTypeId(Integer.parseInt(request.getParameter(MODE).trim()));
                   catch(Exception e)
                        e.printStackTrace();
    How come it works with Orion.jar but returns null with Oc4j.jar?
    Thanks,

    Thanks & Regards,
    Badri

    Hi Badri,
    ApplicationClientInitialContextFactory is for clients which got deployed inside OC4J container..
    For looking up EJB from a stand alone java client please use RMIInitialContextFactory..So please change ur code....
    Also please check ur server.xml
    Since you have specified your ejb domain as "sampledemo"
    you have to use that domian only for look up..But it seems that you are looking up for "Demo" domain instead of "sampledemo" domain...So change your code to reflect that..
    Code snippet for the same is :
    Hashtable env = new Hashtable();
    env.put("java.naming.provider.url", "ormi://localhost/sampledemo");
    env.put("java.naming.factory.initial", "om.evermind.server.rmi.RMIInitialContextFactory");
    env.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, "guest");
    env.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, "welcome");
    Context ic = new InitialContext (env);
    Hope this helps

  • Xmlparserv2.jar conflicts with xmlparserv2-904.jar

    Hi everyone,
    I'm trying to use the BI Publisher APIs within a Java Embedding activity. These APIs uses the xmlparserv2-904.jar version of the library. But the oracle.xml shared library that the OC4J instance contains, uses the xmlparserv2.jar which is not compatible with the BI Publisher APIs. Is there a way i can tell a BPEL process to use the version of the library that I deploy with my projet instead of using those from the OC4J instance shared libraries??
    Any help is welcome!!

  • JDeveloper problem with CMP

    Using JDeveloper 903, I receive the following error when
    attempting to run a container-managed EJB:
    SQL error: Io exception: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection
    However, the connection is fine according to the Connection wizard: clicking "Test Connection" gives "success!".
    I can also view database tables through the System Navigator Connection view. The problem seems to be the embedded oc4j server's inability to open a database connection for CMP.
    How to fix this?

    [email protected]

    Hi Yuval,
    Yes, this is standard default behaviour for OC4J!
    Let me guess -- you're using the JDeveloper deployment wizard, right?
    Bad move, buddy! Gee, wouldn't it be great if the JDeveloper wizards
    actually worked properly (sigh).
    Easiest thing to do is to edit the "orion-ejb-jar.xml" file immediately
    after deployment. Look for the "entity-deployment" element, and change
    the "table" attribute so that it equals the correct name of your table.
    Of-course, personally, I steer well clear of the wizards, because I
    don't know what they're doing but I'm sure it's not something that I
    want them to do.
    I also suggest you check out the documentation from either:
    http://www.atlassian.com
    or
    http://www.orionserver.com
    Good Luck,

  • Can I use DBTableOraDataSourceLoginModule with OC4J/OAS 10.1.3.0  ?

    Hi,
    I am implementing security as described in Frank's docs :
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/howtos/1013/oc4jjaas/oc4j_jaas_login_module.htm
    I am using JDeveloper 10.1.3.1 and OC4J 10.1.3.0 / OAS 10.1.3.0.
    The question is :
    1) Will DBTableOraDataSourceLoginModule work with OC4J/OAS 10.1.3.0 ?
    2) The docs above ONLY describe about deploying to OC4J Stand Alone, what about deploying to OAS 10.1.3.0 (Red Hat Linux) ??
    Thank you,
    xtanto

    Hi John,
    I am using DBTableOraDataSourceLoginModule that is included in jazncore.jar.
    I have overridden the original jazncore.jar in <oracle_home>\j2ee\home of my OAS 10.1.3.0 with jazncore.jar that comes with JDeveloper 10.1.3.1.
    When I deploy to OAS with its enterprise manager, I have done this :
    - Select Security Provider, Security Provider = Custom
    Add Login Module, JAAS Login Module Class = oracle.security.jazn.login.module.db.DBTableOraDataSourceLoginModule
    - When I press Deploy, I get this error message :
    [Jun 11, 2007 6:15:39 PM] Initializing ClassLoader(s)
    [Jun 11, 2007 6:15:39 PM] Initializing EJB container

    [Jun 11, 2007 6:15:40 PM] application : XPajakApp is in failed state
    [Jun 11, 2007 6:15:40 PM] Operation failed with error: java.lang.InstantiationException
    Is this related to class path ?
    Since the LoginModule class is located in : <oracle_home>\j2ee\home\jazncore.jar, isn't it already in classpath ?
    If no, how can I set it ?
    Thank you,

  • Orion-ejb-jar ignored by JDeveloper deploying to OC4J

    orion-ejb-jar.xml is ignored by JDeveloper 903 when deploying to external OC4J 903. Specific mappings like those below are lost:
    <entity-deployment name="RequestEJB" copy-by-value="false" data-source="jdbc/OracleDS" exclusive-write-access="false" table="REQUEST">
    <primkey-mapping>
    <cmp-field-mapping name="requestid" persistence-name="REQUESTID" persistence-type="NUMBER(9)"/>
    </primkey-mapping>
    <cmp-field-mapping name="requestid" persistence-name="REQUESTID" persistence-type="NUMBER(9)"/>
    <cmp-field-mapping name="requestuser" persistence-name="REQUESTUSER" persistence-type="VARCHAR2(30)"/>
    <cmp-field-mapping name="requestlabel" persistence-name="REQUESTLABEL" persistence-type="VARCHAR2(12)"/>
    <cmp-field-mapping name="requestdate" persistence-name="REQUESTDATE" persistence-type="DATE"/>
    <cmp-field-mapping name="isurgent" persistence-name="ISURGENT" persistence-type="VARCHAR2(1)"/>
    </entity-deployment>
    Instead, JDeveloper creates a new orion-ejb-jar.xml with different table name:
              <entity-deployment name="RequestEJB" location="RequestEJB" local-wrapper="RequestHome_EntityHomeWrapper421" table="RequestEJB_modulab_Proj_n76ccv" data-source="jdbc/OracleDS" exclusive-write-access="false" locking-mode="optimistic" update-changed-fields-only="true" delay-updates-until-commit="true" min-instances-per-pk="0" max-instances-per-pk="50" disable-wrapper-cache="true">
                   <primkey-mapping>
                        <cmp-field-mapping name="requestid" persistence-name="requestid" />
                   </primkey-mapping>
                   <cmp-field-mapping name="requestuser" persistence-name="requestuser" />
                   <cmp-field-mapping name="requestlabel" persistence-name="requestlabel" />
                   <cmp-field-mapping name="requestdate" persistence-name="requestdate" />
                   <cmp-field-mapping name="isurgent" persistence-name="isurgent" />
                   <finder-method query="">
                        <!-- Generated SQL: "select RequestEJB_modulab_Proj_n76ccv.requestid from RequestEJB_modulab_Proj_n76ccv -->
                        <method>

                             <method-params>
                             </method-params>
                        </method>
                   </finder-method>
              </entity-deployment>
    orion-ejb-jar is placed at the META-INF folder. Why does JDeveloper ignore it? It does not ignore orion-application.xml nor orion-web.xml. Must I configure project or deployment profiles not to overwrite orion-ejb-jar?

    I believe that it is not JDeveloper issue but OC4J one. It does not pick up new orion-ejb-jar.xml if you re-deploy bean(s). It should deploy your orion-ejb-jar.xml when you're deploying yor application for the first time (so there is not orion-ejb-jar.xml in deployments directory). If you want OC4J to pick changes up remove orion-ejb-jar.xml from $OC4J_HOME/application-deployments/<application>/<Bean>.jar/ and then deploy it either manually or with JDeveloper. I hope it will help.

  • How can I use a 3rd party XML parser such as xerces with OC4J ?

    Hi all tech experts,
    I am using Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 (10.1.2) and i have
    installed Portal and Wireless and OracleAS Infrastructure on the same
    computer.
    i tried all the solutions on this thread
    Use of Xerces Parser in out application with Oracle App Server 9.0.4
    but still fighting.
    I have also posted this query on OTN on following thread
    How can I use a 3rd party XML parser such as xerces with OC4J?
    but no reply....
    Please help me on this issue.
    Since OC4J is preconfigured to use the Oracle XML parser which is xmlparserv2.jar.
    i have read the following article which states that
    OC4J is preconfigured to use the Oracle XML parser. The Oracle XML parser is fully JAXP 1.1 compatible and will serve the needs of applications which require JAXP functionality. This approach does not require the download, installation, and configuration of additional XML parsers.
    The Oracle XML parser (xmlparserv2.jar) is configured to load as a system level library of OC4J through it's inclusion as an entry in the Class-Path entry of the oc4j.jar Manifest.mf file. This results in the Oracle XML parser being used for all common deployment and packaging situations. You are not permitted to modify the Manifest.mf file of oc4j.jar.
    It must be noted that configuring OC4J to run with any additional XML parser or JDBC library is not a supported configuration. We do know customers who have managed to successfully replace the system level XML parser and the Oracle JDBC drivers that ship with the product, but we do not support this type of configuration due to the possibility of unexpected system behavior and system errors that might occur from replacing the tested and certified libraries.
    If you absolutely must use an additional XML parser such as xerces, then you have to start OC4J such that the xerces.jar file is loaded at a level above the OC4J system classpath. This can be accomplished using the -Xbootclasspath flag of the JRE.
    i have also run the following command
    java -Xbootclasspath/a:d:\xerces\xerces.jar -jar oc4j.jar
    but no success.
    How could i utilize my jar's like xerces.jar and xalan.jar for parsing instead of OC4J in-built parser ?
    All reply will be highly appreciated.
    Thnx in advance to all.

  • Custom Tag in race condition with OC4J v9.0.2.0.0...

    Hello all,
    (I tried deploying my application with OC4J 9.0.3 but none of my existing
    tags worked)
    I developed a OC4J web application implementing my own tag library extension
    and found out that there was occurring a race condition to the fact that two
    users (different sessions) where accessing the same
    tag at the same time. In the offending tag implementation I only have
    instance members and not static which could also cause a
    concurrent access problem.
    I found that OC4J was reusing concurrently the same
    Tag instance when it should not do that!!!
    public class pagesIteratorTag extends BodyTagSupport {
    // only instance class members...
    public void doInitBody() throws JspException {
    System.out.println("pageSetIteratorTag::doInitBody - Tag instance value: " + this.toString() + " for user: " + this.pageContext.getSession().getAttribute("j_username"));
    public int doAfterBody() throws JspException {
    System.out.println("pageSetIteratorTag::doAfterBody - Tag instance value: " + this.toString() + " for user: " + this.pageContext.getSession().getAttribute("j_username"));
    Note the pagesIteratorTag@2e same instance is used when it should not
    1 because the tag instance should be protected from multiple concurrent
    access even though it can be pooled and reused if it is free.
    pageSetIteratorTag::doInitBody - Tag instance value: com.kdlabs.fogal.tagext.pagesIteratorTag@2e for user: Frank
    pageSetIteratorTag::doAfterBody - Tag instance value: com.kdlabs.fogal.tagext.pagesIteratorTag@2e for user: Frank
    pageSetIteratorTag::doInitBody - Tag instance value: com.kdlabs.fogal.tagext.pagesIteratorTag@2e for user: Giovanni
    pageSetIteratorTag::doAfterBody - Tag instance value: com.kdlabs.fogal.tagext.pagesIteratorTag@2e for user: Giovanni
    pageSetIteratorTag::doInitBody - Tag instance value: com.kdlabs.fogal.tagext.pagesIteratorTag@2e for user: Giovanni
    pageSetIteratorTag::doAfterBody - Tag instance value: com.kdlabs.fogal.tagext.pagesIteratorTag@2e for user: Giovanni
    Session for user Frank throws a null pointer exception because Giovanni's session
    started accessing the variable.
    Can anyone advise please?
    Best Regards,
    Giovanni

    First of all, you said none of your tags worked in 9.0.3. What happened? Did you do any debugging of the problem?
    Comparing the "toString()" output of your tag does not guarantee they are the same instance. That is just the output of "hashcode()", not the "pointer" to the object. The hashcode is generated from the contents of the object, not its "identity".
    I suggest you track the NPE in the debugger and get more information before you assume the container is at fault (which is still an outside possibility). SDK API Javadoc
    Object class:
    The general contract of hashCode is:
    1-. Whenever it is invoked on the same object more than once during an execution of a Java application, the hashCode method must consistently return the same integer, provided no information used in equals comparisons on the object is modified. This integer need not remain consistent from one execution of an application to another execution of the same application.
    So, the toString() is properly returning the suffix of the object instance
    number unique for that instance and is then being reused by OC4J even though
    it is being accessed from another session thread, that must not happen and it
    is not compliant with the JSP spec.
    The other history is that when I implemented my custom tags OC4J was JSP 1.1 compliant
    and not 1.2, so after moving to 1.2 the scripting variables can be defined in XML and
    by subclassing TagInfo class, the last option doesn't work with OC4J 9.0.3, not good...
    Thanks for your help,
    I will keep trying to figure out what the problem migth be,
    Best Regards,
    Giovanni

  • OC4J 904 and Unicode(AL16UTF16) in NVARCHAR2 column

    I have:
    OC4J 904 standalone runs on Windows2000 AdvancedServer.
    Oracle 9i
    JDBC thin driver shipped with OC4J
    NLS_NCHAR_CHARSET = AL16UTF16
    (NLS_CHARACTERSET = VN8VN3)
    I have a table with a NVARCHAR2 column. I created a CMP EJB from the table but I can't use the EJB to retreive data from Database. I was success in using Oracle JDBC connection to connect manually to database and save/retreive Unicode data.
    I read somewhere that EJB use thin driver, so the getter/setter of CMP-Fields should work normally.
    I think that may be the problems is the function OraclePreparedStatement.setFormOfUse(1,OraclePreparedStatement.FORM_NCHAR);
    was not called in the EJB Contenner or things like that - so it's a bug of OC4J, right?.
    This is the Exception I received on the browser.

    Can anybody help or give me some information or workaround?
    Thank you very much.

    Hi Nghia,
    Can anybody help or give me some information or
    workaround? I suggest using BMP and a non-emulated data source. More details are available in the documentation which can be downloaded from here:

    Good Luck,

    Rohini

    Hello,
    I guess that you didn't define the Topic and/or TopicConnectionFactory on your OC4J
    Inside $J2EE_HOME/config (see: subfolders .../j2ee/home/config e.g.)folder are several xml files appropriate for OC4J configuration. There's also jms.xml. Please, verify this one, it should have some entries for your settings.
    Just like in an example below:
    <topic-connection-factory name="TopicConnectionFactory" location="jms/TopicConnectionFactory"/>
    <topic name="theTopic" location="jms/theTopic"/>
    The names should be the same like in your MDB deployment descriptors. It works of course after next OC4J server restart.
    I hope helped you
    Krzysztof
