JPEG Export Looks Saturated in Internet Explorer

I see this question in many forums and online but without a solution.
JPEG exports (sRBG) look overly saturated when viewed in Internet Explorer browser, including when uploading/viewing in Facebook, etc, etc.  In other words, the colors looks different between Lightroom and Internet Explorer.  (Colors looks the same between Lightroom and Photoshop though.)
As point of reference, when you download a sample JPEG image from Canon EOS's website (used to show sample images from their cameras) you see that those images also use sRGB profile.  They also look exactly the same no matter how you view them (Lightroom, Photoshop, Internet Explorer, Safari, etc.).
What is Lightroom doing to photos upon export to JPEG and you need Lightroom or Photoshop to see the same colors?
I saw some talk about it had to do with Lightroom presets and that you had to zero those out?  Any ideas from Windows users?

Have you got Firefox or Safari on your machine?  In which case, how do the images look in either of those browsers?  Or, if you're using Windows 7, how do the images look in Windows photo viewer?
Also, can you say what monitor you are using please?
I think it might be a colour management issue.  Internet Explorer is not colour managed (not even IE9), Lightroom and Photoshop are colour managed, so is Windows 7 photo viewer (but not the XP equivalent), so are Firefox and Safari (but not Chrome).  When there's a difference between how something looks in an non-colour-managed program and colour-manged programs then it's worth checking for colour management issues.
If your monitor has a wider gamut than sRGB, then you would expect IE9 and other non-managed programs to look over-saturated.

  • Why Templates text looks uggly in Internet Explorer ?

    Hi folks,
    I´m doing a kind of a job that will make use of the iWeb templates. It will be easier for the task.
    The problem is that most of the audience will navigate to the site by IE (as almost 80% of the planet does, unfortunetly ... lol). Right now I´m doing a test in front of a PC using XP and IE6. The text of the site looks very, very uggly.
    As I´m a mac user for a long time and work with good computers (1 Mac Pro and 1 MacBook Pro) I guess I´m used to "good image".
    On iWeb templates many different fonts are used, probably fonts that are not web safe as I have read through this forum, right ?
    The resolution of the monitor that I´m doing this test is not too bad (1024 x 768), so it should looks ok, right ?
    Checking the folders contents of the site when it is "saved to a folder" before changing text of the pages, I could noticed that most of the contents (paragraphs and texts) are .png files. Images ! Is it a way and the only way to make texts and paragraphs look nice in Internet Explorer ?
    By the way, is it a safe font size for IE or for general internet ?
    Thanks in advance ....

    The rule in your CSS that's causing the squishing is this one:
    .right_side_text {
        letter-spacing: 0;    line-height: 5px;
        margin: auto;
        padding: 0 0 0 20px;
    I don't think that you need margin: auto
    It's easy to test it in Firefox using the Firebug plugin.  You can edit the CSS "live."  However, it's not so easy to test it in IE so I'm not sure what will happen there if you edit it.

  • My website looks different in internet explorer.

    Greetings and thanks in advance for great service that we provide
    I created a website in iweb www.webworldpr.com in Firefox looks good in Internet Explorer looks different. I can do. I would like to know is web site maestro can solve this problem.

    The iWeb for Musicians website is optimized with Web SIte Maestro and appears to work OK in IE 7 & 8. If I look at it using Safari User Agent the background image drops out etc.
    The latest version of WebCrusher has this....
    "iWeb websites are known for their incompatibility with Internet Explorer. We tested hundreds of iWeb sites and came up with a step by step guide to making your iWeb site work with Internet Explorerand built this functionality into WebCrusher."
    I do have WebCrusher but I haven't tested this feature as I don't have a PC running WIndows anymore.
    The only way I can think that I could help you out here is if you send me a copy of a Domain file or the folder of published files and I'll run it through the app to see if it fixes your problem before you have to think about buying it.

  • Restricting Export to Excel of internet explorer in BEx Browser

    Hi,
    Is there any way we can restrict the user to export the data into Excel. I have disabled this option in the template. But when the report opens through Browser, user right clicks on any part of the screen and he can export the data to the Excel.
    Can we restrict this internet explorer options by anyway.
    Please advise.
    Thanks
    Ramesh Ganji

    Instead of this if I give a solution to disable right click option in Internet Will it be helpful.
    Find the below code then
    <script language="JavaScript">
    //This code is the beginning of the right click disable
    function right(e) {
    //This function is for Net 4.
    if (navigator.appName == 'Netscape' && (e.which == 3 || e.which ==
    2))
    return false;
    return true;
    function context(){
    //This function takes care of Net 6 and IE.
    return false;
    document.onmousedown=right;
    document.oncontextmenu=context;
    </script>

  • Why does my website look different in Internet Explorer

    Hello there I'm currently working on an eportfolio for school, however when using internet explorer my navigation bars look like this
    However in google chrome it looks like this
    Please help me I used cs6 and this is my website http://jacks-eportfolio.site90.net/
    Please let me know.

    It depends how much you want to learn about html and css.
    If you're not all too interested/worried about web design in general (not really planning to become a pro web designer), you're fine with the current layout. It functions and isn't going to hurt you financially if it breaks  under certain settings.
    If you do have an interest in professional web design, you really should learn to code before you "learn Dreameaver". That way you can skip all of the traps built into it for novice designers (especially APDivs).
    Take some time to run the tutorials for HTML and CSS here: http://www.w3schools.com
    That will give you a lot of the basics.
    Once you have that under your belt, here are some more links (blatently taken from Nancy O's posts)...

    Hi Tom,
    this may not be quite the perfect solution, but it works for me at least. I'm not using the IE ComObject, but rather the .NET Webclient for it ...
    # Load downloader function
    function Get-WebContent
    <#
    .SYNOPSIS
    Downloads a file
    .DESCRIPTION
    Download any file using a valid weblink and either store it locally or return its content
    .PARAMETER webLink
    The full link to the file (Example: "http://www.example.com/files/examplefile.dat"). Adds "http://" if webLink starts with "www".
    .PARAMETER destination
    The target where you want to store the file, including the filename (Example: "C:\Example\examplefile.dat"). Folder needs not exist but path must be valid. Optional.
    .PARAMETER getContent
    Switch that controls whether the function returns the file content.
    .EXAMPLE
    Get-WebContent -webLink "http://www.technet.com" -destination "C:\Example\technet.html"
    This will download the technet website and store it as a html file to the target location
    .EXAMPLE
    Get-WebContent -webLink "www.technet.com" -getContent
    This will download the technet website and return its content (as a string)

    # Split the string into each individual line
    $lines = $string.Split("`n")
    # Prepareing result variable
    $results = @()
    # For each line, cut away the clutter
    foreach ($line in $lines)
    $temp = $line.SubString(4,($line.length - 10))

    if ($temp -like 'id="16ZwhxLjCN8fafA8wuYEnMFtGJGrFy6qcE">*'){$temp = $temp.SubString(($temp.IndexOf(">") + 1))}
    # Add cleaned line to results
    $results += $temp
    You may need to adapt the string parsing beneath the function, if the text you posted is not literally identical to the way this function returns it. It worked for a string block acquired via copy&paste from your post anyway. :)
    I certainly would be more than happy to read a more elegant version, if someone has one to offer.

  • IWeb not looking good on Internet Explorer

    Hi,
    My site, www.bargelachouette.com has sat well on mac and in Windows IE for a couple of years, except for a small glitch on IE which I was prepared to accept. A few days ago I upgraded to IE8 on the Windows virtual machine of Parallels. The site is totally unacceptable in IE now, with illegible text covering photos which should not be there (The reflection at the bottom of the photo in the<white> <welcome> template I use is now the whole photo replicated below the original photo . Can anyone tell me why this is happening and what I should do to rectify it....please.
    Cheers,
    Bob

    Don't know Bob, but it looks like IE bit you.
    I see what you're talking about.
    I view it in Firefox and it looks fine.
    Not sure what you might be able to do, but hopefully someone will have a thought.
    The Barge look really neat.
    Good luck.
    You might try turning off the reflections.
    Looks like that where the problem areas are.
    Look like IE is not displaying it as a reflection, but a second picture.

  • If I export bookmarks to internet explorer will they remain in firefox?

    I would like to export firefox bookmarks to internet explorer without losing them in firefox.

    No, you will never lose bookmarks in Firefox if you export them to an HTML backup or to a JSON backup.
    If you would import an HTML backup then those bookmarks will be merged to the existing bookmarks.<br />
    Restoring a JSON backup in Firefox however will replace all existing bookmarks and you get a warning about this.

  • Firefox will not import all of the favorites from Internet Explorer 11 in Windows 8.1 64-bit OS!

    There is another post about this problem in the forum, but the answer does not work. This is the first time I've ever encountered this problem when installing/using Firefox on my desktop PC. I have a new (3/25/14) Dell XPS 8700 desktop tower with Windows 8.1 64-bit (and now Update 1) installed, along with Internet Explorer 11. I previously had a 2005 Dell Dimension 5100 desktop tower running XP Pro SP3 32-bit, which never had any issues running Firefox, but has since died. I used to run Firefox as my default browser, but not any longer. Now, during the install process, Firefox asks if you want to import from Internet Explorer, as it has always done before. I chose yes, and it reported that it pulled everything in from IE. However, it only imported my favorites folders whose names start with a numeral, and then A, B, and onward down the alphabet, but it doesn't import anything more after getting to the folders whose names start with E. So, all of my remaining Favorites folders whose names start with F, G, and forward down the alphabet from there are all absent from Firefox's Bookmarks. I also tried importing the favorites after installing Firefox, which I don't prefer since Firefox installs a folder called Internet Explorer to go to first to get to your favorites. However, still, Firefox only brought in my favorites folders from A to E, and stopped there again. I do not see any way to export my favorites from Internet Explorer (there is no import/export option under favorites, nor anywhere else in IE 11). Uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox resulted in the same problem, even after making sure to delete my settings, etc., in the process. Please update Firefox's installation executable so it's able to import ALL of Internet Explorer 11's favorites folders and their contents, complete, as it has always done before. Please contact me when the corrected executable to install Firefox properly is ready for download. Thank you.

    If there are problems with importing the IE Favorites in Firefox then export the favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.
    If you do not have the menu bar in IE then right-click the toolbar at the top to enable the Menu Bar.

    I am viewing it in Explorer9 and I am trying to get all the text to wrap around the images....
    OK I can't check in IE9 now because I am working on Windows XP.  However, you may want to correct one of styles shown as follows:
    .style47 {     font-size: 24;
    font-family: "Old English Text MT";
    After 24 you should put px so that it looks like this:
    .style47 {     font-size: 24px;
    font-family: "Old English Text MT";

    When I try to install Adobe Update, it tells me to close Internet Explorer.  When I try to close it, I can't get it to close.  Now what?

    I'd recommend going to your task manager and looking for the Internet explorer task (iexplorer.exe).  Once found, right click and end task.  You might have to do this for multiple entries, depending on how many instances of explorer are running.
    Thanks,
