Jump link works in IE not Firefox

I am using Dreamweaver CS4. I have spry accordian tabs on the page, each one labeled with the name of a paper. At the top of the page, I provide some context for the papers (papers are in the spry drop-down content). I created links from the names of the papers at the top of the page to the names of the papers in the spry labels. When I preview the page, the links work in IE but not in Firefox. Anyone encounter anything like this? Any suggestions?
Thanks.

I'm using Firefox version 3.5.2
When I right click on the link, a duplicate page opens.

  • Jump link works in IE not Firefox - more specific

    To be more specific than in my previous question:
    I am using Dreamweaver CS4. I have a spry collapsible panel on the page; each panel is labeled with the name of a paper. At the top of the page, I provide some context for the papers (papers are in the spry drop-down content). I created links from the names of the papers at the top of the page to the names of the papers in the spry labels. When I preview the page, the links work in IE but not in Firefox, version 3.5.2. When I right click on the link in Firfox and choose "open in a new window," a new window opens; jump doesn't work. If I choose "open link in new tab" a new tab is created; duplicate page; no jump.
    Please someone help me to understand why the jump link doesn't work in Firefox. Could it be because the links are to tabs on the collapsible panel? Is there another way to create the jump from the top of the page to a particular panel?
    Thanks.

  • HP Smart Web Printing only works on Explorer not Firefox 4 are you going to update this as I do not want to change back to Explorer.

    I just downloaded the HP Smart Web Printing which is free for those who purchase printers. It provides ability to select and clip or print web pages. It works on Explorer but not Firefox 4. There are many such questions on forums in both HP and Firefox. I love Firefox and would hate to have to go back to Explorer.
    Firefox 4 also does not appear to have "Send to OneNote" either. I used to be able to do this in Firefox 3.

  • All links are for IE not firefox

    Before I updated to version 4.0.1, I could open any webpage with Firefox, now I can only open with IE. For example CCleaner, at the bottom when I click check for new versions it opens up the home page with IE instead of FF. Another example my friends send me files with links to the sites where it can be found and the icons are in IE only. Before it was in FF only. I hate using IE and want it the old way before the upgrade. Also had the option when I right clicked a link where I could open with FF, IE, ect. now it's gone. I figured when I upgraded it would be same as before. I am liking the old version better.

    Maybe some of the extensions are causing a problem. I suggest you try using
    * [[safe Mode]] <-- clikable link for instructions --
    * do NOT make changes in the first window,just click on continue
    * use only the default firefox theme
    * if you continue to have problems; then whilst still in safe mode disable all plugins
    It is also worth trying to ensure all extensions are uptodate
    * see [[troubleshooting extensions and themes]]
    You may have to try using the reset controls and toolbars option from safe-mode BUT that may loose customisations that you have made.

  • Notification Plug-in only working in IE (not Firefox or Chrome)

    Just in case anyone else encountered this ...
    I downloaded and installed the Dynamic Action Plug-in, Notification,
    from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex/application-express/apex-plug-ins-182042.html.
    I imported into Shared Objects plug-ins for an application, created a dynamic action using this plug-in,
    and it works great. In IE only (IE 8). When I run the application from Chrome or Firefox (3.6.13),
    the notification does not display.
    When I run the demo notification application in firefox or chrome, the notification works - http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=654321:401:0
    I can not find any information specifically on browsers.
    I use APEX 4.0.1.00.03 in Oracle 11.1.0.7 and develop on Windows 2003 server.
    I do use javascript (calling htmldb_Get) to get a value from the database to display in the Notification,
    so I suspect the problem may be there.
    Any ideas why only IE works would be appreciated. Is there any place in APEX I needed to specify browsers?
    Thanks,
    Wayne

    I stripped out all the local database access and hardecode a value for this problem. When you click the button "Check Employee's Classification", it calls a javascript function in the HTML Header called checkClass. That changes the item displayed in the notification and fires the dynamic action, Employee Class. Works great in IE, but that's it. I suspect it's the javascript that firefox or Chrome doesn't recognize.
    function checkClass(lnum)
    //alert(lnum);
    // force a "change" for dynamic action to fire - set to empty, then change
    $x('P1_CLASS_DESC').style.visibility = 'visible';
    $x('P1_CLASS_DESC').focus();
    $x('P1_CLASS_DESC').value = "";
    $x('P1_CLASS_DESC').blur();
    $x('P1_CLASS_DESC').style.visibility = 'hidden';
    // below won't work on apex.oracle.com - comment out
    // var get = new htmldb_Get(null,&APP_ID.,'APPLICATION_PROCESS=checkClass',0);
    // get.add('P1_LNBR',lnum);
    // gReturn = get.get();
    //alert(gReturn);
    $x('P1_CLASS_DESC').style.visibility = 'visible';
    $x('P1_CLASS_DESC').focus();
    // origin - not for apex.oracle.com $x('P1_CLASS_DESC').value = gReturn;
    $x('P1_CLASS_DESC').value = "Test for why this only works in IE";
    $x('P1_CLASS_DESC').blur();
    $x('P1_CLASS_DESC').style.visibility = 'hidden';
    }

  • Cannot print from Adobe Flash Player even though there is a print option. IE works fine but not Firefox.

    You need to install Quicktime Player. Download [https://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/ Quicktime Player], double click the downloaded file to install QuickTime, restart Firefox, then see if your website works. (I'd advise you to add a warning on the website to warn users to install QuickTime)

  • Youtube videos only open with quicktime--small screen/no audio. Flash works with Safari, not Firefox.

    I've updated flash, reset Firefox, restarted Mac. Youtube videos will not load with Flash. They open with Quicktime in a 1x2 inch box of low res images with no audio.

    Open up your preferences/Options and open up applications. From here check the preferences for youtube files. In about:permissions you can check the preferences for youtube.com as well.

  • My slash key doesnt work - it selects text if Im in a form, or shows a thin bar. I remaped keyboard (Linux) and other progs work OK, but not firefox.

    I'm using Linux Mint in a Lenovo S400 lap-top. I had to remap my slash key for X because the scancode of the key is actually Right-Ctrl (go figure!), and all my programs are recognizing this configuration. But in firefox my remapping takes no effect, and the slash key actually selects text if I'm in a form, or makes a thin bar appear at the bottom of the screen.
    Any help is welcome!

    When I link to an external site, the link does not work, if I right click "Open in new tab" the link works.

    I have not changed any of my preferences and they look like they are as I would have left them.
    I tried resetting Firefox and deleting the preference file, no change.
    By the way, I hate that the tabs are on top and not where they belong above the pages they are for. There should still be a way in Firefox to put them back without having to use an add-in.

  • Using jump menu in one frame to open page in another frame - works in IE but not Firefox

    Hi,
    I'm a beginner designer. I've been working to create a template for a website in which there is a banner in a frame across the top and three frames beneath - left for navigation and middle and right for content that can be compared.
    I have created two jump menus in the left frame using Dreamweaver's option for it (insert/forms/jump menu): one menu to load pages in the middle frame (in the code this is 'left') and one menu to load pages in the right frame (in the code this is 'right'). Both menus use a go button.
    Using Internet Explorer and allowing active content to run it works fine. In Firefox clicking 'go' does nothing however I have links in this navigation that will open a page in the middle or right ('left' and 'right') frames and if I use these the jump menus will now work.
    How can I get it to work straight off?
    Any feedback is welcome (except regarding not using frames!).

    Given that it doesn't work initially in Firefox then it does once I load a page in the destination frame I decided to create a page with a link to the frameset. Using the link to get to the frameset the jump menu now works perfectly. Must be one of the wonders of using frames. Well I guess that's solved but out of curiosity, any ideas for why it wouldn't work when the frameset is loaded on its own?
    It might be due to the fact that you're using XHTML 1.0 Transitional, a DOCTYPE that does not support framesets. Try converting to HTML 4.01 Transitional or HTML 4.01 Frameset if you do not need or understand XHTML. Or use XHTML 1.0 Frameset if you really need XHTML.
