Hi,
Seems a software compatibility issue with Windows 8. I suggest you contact Juniper support for help since this involves 3rd party application.

  • Extreme slowness with Juniper Network Connect

    Hi there,
I recently switched from cable modem to fios and I am very frustuated with fios as the company vpn speed slows down gradually (while I never had any issue with cable modem) to 0.5 mbps from 50 mbps in a few hours. I often try restarting modem and reconnecting which helps sometimes. My company IT reported no problem and my colleagues on cable also report no problems with vpn. My desktop is directly connected to the cable modem via wire (not wireless).
    I would appreciate any suggestions.
    Thank you,

While this is not a Windows 10 specific issue (it happens in Windows 8.x, too), I wanted to discuss it here to see there was a solution.
When using either of my corporation's two VPN options, Juniper Network Connect and Juno Pulse, I cannot use any Modern apps that have network access.  BUT, this does not seem to effect Microsoft's Modern apps, like Mail or the Store.
As an example, Nextgen Reader, cannot synch with Feedly when I am connected to the VPN, but it works fine otherwise.
Yet, I can synch my OneNote notebooks or I can visit the Windows Store, so it doesn't seem to be strictly a problem with the VPN software.
Does anyone know of a work-around for this?  Is this something that can be better addressed in Windows 10 so this is no longer an issue?
Do you you the VPN in Windows settings or install a client. My organizations info-structure won't allow to connect using the VPN built into Windows 8/10. In Windows 8 i installed the client and enter my companies connect information and it works. But the
same thing doesn't work in Windows Technical Preview.

  • Snow Leopard and Juniper Network Connect/How to temporarily disable Bonjour

    Hi All,
I have encountered a problem with Juniper Network Connect running on my MacBook Air. I can connect successfully to my company's VPN but on my MacBook Air Junipers Network Connect started to dis- and reconnect in changing time intervals.
After some googling I am pretty sure that it has something to do with the Bonjour service changing the routing tables. I wanted to confirm this and activated "Back to my mac" on my MacBook Pro which up to now did not had any problems connecting to my company's VPN. Now it has the same issues.
My question is whether there is any way to temporarily disable Bonjour, ideally via Apple script. Up to now the only solutions I found were to either
    - disable mDNSResponder which would also prevent accessing any websites or
    - disable multicast advertisements (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3789?viewlocale=en_US)
The latter approach includes editing a properties file and restarting the mac, thus would be less than ideal for just quickly dis- and enabling bonjour. Furthermore I am not quite sure whether this really solves the problem of updating the routing table.
    Any advise is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    equinox

If you are using an Airport or Airport Express base station: go to Utilities>Airport Utility. When it's found the Airport, click on 'Manual Setup'. In the next pane, click on the 'Wireless' tab; when that pane opens click on 'Wireless Network Options...'. Check 'Create a closed network'.
If you are using another manufacturer's wireless router you will need to look at their instructions, but the principle is the same - it may say something like 'Hide SSD'.

  • Juniper Network Connect fails in Mac OS 10.10

    Hello,
I am trying to use Juniper Network Connect on my MacBook Pro running OS 10.10 and Java 8 (Update 25) to connect to my corporate network.
However, each time I log into my corporate network through Mozilla Firefox and attempt to establish a remote desktop connection the following message appears as Network Connect attempts to load, "An error occurred while extracting one of the Network Connect components."
Mozilla Firefox is recommended by my company.
Has anybody else experienced this issue?
I have encountered Network Connect problems over the years (and similar error messages) and I am wondering if this message is related to OS and/or Java upgrades?

    https://coderwall.com/p/_gpxpq/workaround-for-failing-juniper-network-connect-in -yosemite
    Text of site:
The current version 8.0.7 of Network Connect and the latest Yosemite 10.10.1 don't like each other: you simply can't connect.
A workaround (and it should be nothing more if you care) is to allow unsigned kernel extensions (which are unsupported/disabled in Yosemite by default):
    sudo nvram boot-args="kext-dev-mode=1"
    (reboot afterward) To revert this:
    sudo nvram -d boot-args
Looks like this is also helpful for some other problematic extensions.

  • Mac OSX 10.7.5 + Java 7.11 Juniper Network Connect fails

I am running Mac OSX 10.7.5 and just upgraded to Java 7.11. As a result, my Juniper Network Connect vpn now fails - I can't even install the software. I see the following error message "An error occurred while extracting one of the Network Connect components." I made sure the keystore password was set to changeit using the following:
sudo keytool -storepasswd -new changeit -keystore /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Resources/Deploy.bundle/Contents/Home/lib/security/cacerts -storepass changeme
However, I continue to see "An error occurred while extracting one of the Network Connect components."
    Any ideas?

Just a guess, but that looks to be the location for Apple Java 6, which is not replaced when you upgraded to Java 7, rather Oracle stores it in a different location.
It's also possible that Juniper has not updated their software for Java 7.  I know that's true for at least one other VPN vendor.

Love to hear everyone's thinking on this one. I have tried on and off for awhile to fix.

There is a thread about this in the Apple Developer's forum. Basically it looks like Apple changed the default password for the java truststore. I'm guessing it was accidental since the two passwords are very similar and they didn't notify even the Java developers of the change nor is it documented in the updates release notes. This affects:
    Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 1 - Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 1
    Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 6 - Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 6
Personally, to err is human and I can accept that. The problem I have is that Apple is taking so long to fix this. The problem came almost 2 months ago and I noticed on the developer thread that one of Apple's Java developers instead of just admitting the problem instead went on some rant on how the Sun (now Oracle) Java development team needs to change how apps are installed. Whatever.
The reality is this: Until the Oracle Java development team is convinced to change the way Java works and actual does it and Java developers have a chance to change their code this is the reality of the world. Suck it up and fix your broken stuff. Apple could have very easily released a new update that fixed this but instead it looks like their waiting for their next major update and in the meantime everyone else has to work around their mistakes. To be honest, I don't expect anything else from Apple; this is just how they operate.
BTW, According to a Juniper KB, Juniper will be releasing an update to the SA boxes that takes this into account.

  • Juniper Network Connect - Error extracting component

I am running OS X 10.5.8. After applying the update "Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 6" I receive the following error when attempting to start Juniper VPN (6.6 or 6.5.0) Network Connect:
[Network Connect] An error occurred while extracting one of the Network Connect components
I noticed this update disables Java 1.4.2; I tried re-enabling 1.4.2 in Java Preferences and also resetting defaults which disables 1.4.2 and re-orders the Java versions. Neither had any impact.
Quesiton 1 - Is there a way to roll-back the update?
Question 2 - Is there a potential fix other than upgrading to Snow Leopard and trying the fixes that have been published on the new release?

  • Using Juniper Network Connect with Lion

Has anyone had an luck using Network Connect to connect to a Juniper VPN with Lion? When I try to connect to secure network using Safari, Network Connect does not install and launch.

What version of Juniper are you folks running?  We are still on 6.x (I'll have to check on what X is, I think its 5)
I enabled the java "enable applet plug-in and web sstart applications" and it still gets stuck on our host checker screen.   I set the developer Safari 5.0.6 and it actually gets past host checker, but does not present an option for network connect.
This tells me that host checker is running but no longer seeing what it needs to see (?) for the network connect option to be presented.   I was told by Juniper that an update needs to happen but it won't be availble until September.
Can someone verify they can actually get a network connect session working using Lion and safari 5.1 and how they got it to work, and what version of Juniper they are on?
If we need to get to 7.x we can do it on a test box but moving production there will take a good long time.   We *just* enabled the Mac VPN service at our company, and now those upgrading to Lion are finding themselves once again without VPN capabilities.    This is a real problem as we don't control weather they upgrade or not, and everyone wants to get to the latest OS.
Juniper is on its last legs at our company.  This is probably the straw... they should have had this tested by now.

  • X200 WWAN (f3507g) compatibility issue with Juniper Network Connect VPN

I have just recently received my X200 with the build-in WWAN which is a Ericsson f3507g card and found that it causes my Juniper VPN software unable to load, and I have also noticed other applications like Outlook is rather slow.  When I "Disabled" the WWAN card in "Device Manager"->"Network Adapters", all apps work perfectly.  I am using 32-bit Vista Business.
Can someone test and see if you have the same problem as mine?  I am wondering if this is a driver issue of the f3507g WWAN card.

    Hello
I have just spent all day trying to work out why Outlook takes forever to connect on initial start. It was purely by luck/perseverance that I happened to notice an "ipconfig" stuck for a second on LAN2 - which is the ericsson card.
I too then disabled this adapter and found Outlook performance cured. I had popped along to these forums to find a fix but at least I can verify the issue with you.
Bloody annoying since I've only had the X301 1 day - I bought it for use whilst my X300 is having its wireless-freezing issue sorted. Not a good advert for Lenovo I think.

  • Juniper networks VPN: Network Connect will not install under Snow Leopard

Created different thread based on the topics from http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2130935.
With new install of Snow Leopard i get the following when trying to log into SSL VPN "Could not launch. Please restart the web browser and try again"
can not do the workarounds from the above thread since none of the directories exist. Has anyone found a fix for this?

I ran into this too (made matters worse by cleaning out the old juniper install). What I understand clearly now, which other discussions with all the happiness from people saying they fixed it seem to miss completely: Juniper only works if you installed it prior to upgrading 10.6. If you did not, you are possibly hosed.
Now, I was hosed, but I found a workaround. Find a stand-alone installer .dmg out there. As of a couple days ago it was there. I'm sure it still is. Google it. NetworkConnect.dmg.
It is version 6.0.0. It installs correctly. My company runs 6.4.0, which means the first time you open NetworkConnect after installing it prompts you to upgrade. The upgrade worked fine, so long as I was running as root.
Which brings me to my original problem which I've not seen anyone else complain about, which has me worried: after installing, NC only actually connects and functions when I run as root. I'm not talking about su - root or using sudo, I mean having to graphically switch users and log into the computer as the root user (after enabling it...using the scenableroot I think, something like that).
Has anyone else seen this behavior? I can launch Network Connect as my real user but it immediately fails with a software error. 'ncproxyd.error: Failed to gain root privileges'. Driving me batty.

  • Libstdc++-lib6.2-2.so.3 juniper networks network connect

I'm trying to get juniper networks' network connect working. I've found this link http://www.flexion.org/site/index.php?g … Page&id=50 and this one http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php? … rk+connect which both mention the need for libstdc++-lib6.2-2.so.3. Indeed, when I try to connect, juniper returns an error of "please install the missing libraries - libXm.so.3 & libstdc++-lib6.2-2.so.3. I've linked libXm.so.4 to libXm.so.3 and it no longer complains about that one missing. How do i go about getting libstdc++-lib6.2-2.so.3? I see no files that are as directly related to that as libXm.so.4 was.

Tried linking to libstdc++.so.5.0.7 and libstdc++.so.6.0.9. No dice.
I should be able to just download the rpm and install it no? If so...hehe...here's the dumb question, how do I go about doing that?

  • Network connection problems, please help!

I have had an iPod Touch (4th generation) for over a year now and it worked fine. Today, something went wrong with my network connection. One moment it says that I'm connected to a network, and a few seconds later it says I'm not connected... Then a few seconds later it's connected again. I have full wifi bars, and it does it throughout my whole house. The wifi symbol keeps going on and off. I tried turning my Verizon Westell Model 6100G Modem off and back on because this normally fixes my wifi connection problems. This didn't work. Then I tried turning my iPod off and back on. This didn't work. I tried turning the wifi off and back on. This didn't work. I tried forgetting my network and signing back in. This didn't work. I also tried resetting the network, and this didn't work either. I'm not having any connection problems with my laptop, it's working fine. It's only my iPod. I'm still able to use the wifi, but for a split second, it will not work. I'm not sure what else to do. It's very annoying! I'm going to see if it does this at other peoples houses with their wifi. Can any one tell me what's wrong and how I should fix it? My only theory is a broken antenna...Please help! Thanks!

I have two things you could try.
    1. Plug your iPod into the host computer that which the network is based around because sometimes the network has trouble identifying a device if it has been a while since you plugged it into the computer.
    2. Find some way to get your network information (IP address, Subnet Mask, Router, DNS numbers) from another device on the network (e.g. laptop). Then go to Settings > Wi-FI and find your router and tap the blue arrow to the right of the name and tap the tab that says "Static" and enter this information accordingly. Then exit back to the network names menu and re-enter your passcode for your network (assuming you have a passcode)
