What exactly happens when you try to sync?
Does iTunes see the iPod?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
If so have you done anything like update iTunes on the computer since it last successfully synced?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Does any media now sync to the iPod?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

Is anyone as frustrated as i am...just bought a brand new 13" powerbook to find that I can't load my adobe creative suite 2.3 software using the lion os! I need solutions that do not involve spending more $$$$ one the newest CS version. After googling problem, I find I am not the only one. Apple told me Creative Suite 3 would work, but others said no. Version 5.5 seems to be most reliable. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

If you bought the computer at an Apple Store return it. Let them know you aren't happy about your start in the Mac world. If you bought the computer online and have an Apple Store nearby you can take it there even though you didn't buy it there. Note: if going to an Apple store go online and make an appt with the Genius. Stores tend to be busy so this will give you a time to know you can walk in and pretty quickly get attention. Just walking in with a dead computer you may have to wait a while.
No Apple store nearby? No problem, call AppleCare and they'll take care of you. Ask for expedited return & shipment and again, let the technician know you are new to the Apple world and not happy. The last time I brought home a dead computer I not only got a replacement right away but I got an Apple gift card for my inconvenience. -
Just bought a brand new airport extreme and having trouble with it being recognized. My mac is version 10.5.8. What should I do?
The new AirPort Extreme needs the 6.x version of AirPort Utility, which comes packed in with Lion 10.7.5 or Mountain Lion 10.8.x......or......you can also configure the device using an iPhone or iPad running a recent iOS.

A few options.....
Borrow another Mac running Lion or Mountain Lion for 10-15 minutes and set it up. The Mac running 10.5.8 will be able to connect to the wireless....but it will not be able to make any changes to the configuration of the Extreme.
Update to Lion or Mountain Lion.....but check first to make sure that your Mac will support the operating system first.

I just bought a brand new Cannon GL2 camcorder and I am trying to import...
I just bought a brand new Cannon GL2 camcorder and I am trying to import some video footage into Final Cut Pro version 5.01. Whenever I put up the Log and Capture screen and turn my camcorder on the computer starts to think(the spinning color wheel) and not let me do anything else not even press play unless I completely turn the camcorder off again which defeats the whole purpose of me even importing footage. I don't understand why the Log and Capture screen won't let me import any video my old Sony Digital Hi8 was importing just fine a day ago, but now that I bumped up to the GL2 for some reason the Log and Capture screen isn't doing it's job so well by the computer starting to think(the spinning color wheel) instead of working. I have used the Cannon GL1 in the past and it worked like a charm. So I don't understand why the GL2 wouldn't be any easier? It is just giving me this problem and I don't know wether it's the firewire bus or what? Can someone please help me with my dilemma?
Ha...ha..very funny...but ah yeah from reading other posts on the "Canon" GL2 I figured out that you can't have multiple devices plugged into the firewire bus at the same time while you're importing video into Final Cut Pro. That's a HUGE bummer...thanks guys for your help you where fast and reliant. But now I have another problem my internal hard drive only has 4 GB out of 75 GB and my applications take up at least 40 GB of space. How am I going to connect my 600 GB external hard drive to the computer and import footage at the same time? Can you guys help me with this now?

Just bought a brand new iphone 5. But the battery doesnt even last. I have changed all the location services n all. Still it doesnt last even half day. And the usage isnt heavy. My wife is using it, so it doesnt have a heavy usage. Tried every thing.
Gidday, I had the same problem when I bought my iPhone 5. If you drain the battery right down to nothing until it is completely flat and then recharge it 100%, drain it again, and fully charge it you should be good to go.

The ! sign before the song means that the actual song is no longer on your computer and/or iTunes library.

I just bought a brand new Photoshop CS5.
I just bought a brand new Photoshop CS5. When I start the installing from the cd I have to type in my serial number, which is <serial number removed> The installer says "This serial number is used for Photoshop CS5" all is good. After installing the program, I start it for the first time. Then I have to type in my serial number again for Photoshop CS5 Extended Trial, but now it says "This serial number is not valid for this product".
What is wrong? What am I doing wrong?I am guessing that you do not want to use the CS5 Extended version if you only purchased the non-extended version. Serial numbers are product specific. If you continue to have problems, contact Adobe support thru chat:

just bought a brand new ipod nano and downloaded an audiobook borrowed from the local library. The book is there and playing but, I cannot hear anything. What am I doing wrong?
Does the same file play normally in iTunes? Do other audiobooks play normally on the iPod?
How does "borrowing" work? Does it require use of another app, other than iTunes, to get it on the iPod? -

If it is brand new, bring it back to Apple before the warranty expires, if you are using iTunes on a Mac.
If the Apple Genius Bar is 10 hours drive away then I would suggest, when you want to sync, disconnect from Internet, stop your Antivirus and sync your Ipod.
Very advisable to disconnect from Internet when you stop any Antivirus program. -
I have just bought a Panasonic Lumix compact camera. Aperture and Preview can't open the RAW files from this camera. Panasonic recommend downloading 'SYLKPIX Developer Studio SE' to save RAW file formats.How can Aperture and Preview read the files?
Either use 'SYLKPIX Developer Studio SE' to develope the RAW files and to save them in another lossless format like TIFF, or try if Adobe's free DNG Coverter can convert your Lumix RAW files to dng. Then import the dngs. This way, your files will still be RAW files. This works (most times) for my Lumix FZ28.

I have it connected to my computer and see (my name) ipod on my screen.
Everytime I try to add a new song to the Ipod, this message comes up and I am not sure what to do:

An Ipod can be synced with only one ITunes library at a time. Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this IPod with the contents of this ITunes library.
Then it asks me if I want to delete and sync.
I am not sure what to do for fear of erasing everything I have put on my Ipod.
I would appreciate if someone could help me out.If I understand you correctly, you are trying to use iTunes to play the Music in your iPod but which is not in your itunes library. I don't think Apple design iTunes for use in your way. As to put and play music in iPod, the music has to be in iTunes first, so you play music in the iTunes music Library. the window with Ipod music is just to show you which music are already in the Ipod, in case you want to Manually Manage your huge music library.

I just got a brand new iPhone 4S on a contract from my local Three store. When I used the cloud restore to put the data from my old 3GS onto the device, it's prompting me for an Apple ID login with an email address (hotmail) that isn't mine! My old phone has NEVER had any Apple ID other than mine log into it, and the new one's a sealed box that I've opened and set up from scratch. Can anyone please explain this? I'm worried there's some kind of problem with my iCloud data being mixed with someone else's or something... Since I logged in with my own ID, it's downloaded the data perfectly fine, but I just got the Apple ID prompt again a moment ago with this same hotmail address in it... I'd be very grateful for any explanation!
In iTunes on your computer, select the Purchased section under STORE in the left column. Click on the first track and choose "Get Info" from the "File" menu.
In the "Summary" tab you'll see details of the purchaser of the track. Click Next to go through all your purchased music one by one until you find the ones you need to get rid of.
Unfortunately, there are no smart playlist rules that can filter tracks by the purchaser that I know of.
