Just bought an Imac G5 but can't do much with it, how can I upgrade to neewer version and which is the next version after 10.4.11?

HI, I just bought an Imac G5 with 10.4.11 OS in it but I can't do much with it. I can't even wach Netflix on it because it needs a newer version of browser but I can't download newer version because My Mac's OS is to old, at least 10.6 needed. Can anybody can help Me? Thank you

No, sorry. It was only ever available on Disc. You can search places like eBay or Amazon for a Retail Copy. Do not get the Grey Set as they are machine specific. I don't think 10.5 will let you do much more than 10.4 as you said you needed at least 10.6 which is not possible due to the age of your Mac.

This looks like a change of behaviour in iTunes 12. Once songs are queued up to the Up Next list then they play whether ticked or not. If you want to skip certain songs already queued click the Up Next tool, then click the small X to the left of the song that appears when you hover over it.

I just bought an iphone 5 but can't get sync to itunes. Help!

I just bought an iPhone 5 today. I plugged in the phone to sync to itunes on my Macbook but I got a screen telling me I need the iTunes 7 update. I downloaded the update but it cannot install because my OS is not 10.6.8 or later. I currently have 10.5.8. I bought this Macbook in early 2008 but never bothered to upgrade the OS. What do I need to do to update my OS on my Macbook to sync my iPhone 5? Will I have to pay for the update? I'm lost and don't know what to do next. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First thing to try is a reboot of your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

The ICloud will not download my Mail, Contacts, Calander and Tasks. JUst says there is an error. I sent in results but received nothing. Just bought space in ICloud but can not use it. Any Suggestions?

Yes - I had my old email address in Mac Mail
So I have moved ALL my mail into On-my-Mac for safekeeping
Then I deleted that account from Mac Mail
I then tried - once more - with Preferences>iCloud to get my MobileMe address onto iCloud
and got the following....
So that does not help
Back to Mac Mail and re-install my old account and it looks like this
So its an iCloud account .... ? and [email protected] is my old mobile.me address
So why can I not access it from my iPad, which now wants me to "Create a free @me.com email address to turn on iCloud Mail". If I do that, how do I get my old @me address working on the iPad.
Really Apple has not excelled itself with this migration...

Just bought macbook air 11, but can't even register it

I bought macbook air 11 inch just today. On the welcome page, I chose my country. That click works bu 'continue' click doesn't work.So after wasting some time, I gave up. This is surely faulty, isn't it?

I didn't even know that you could press hard to click. I brought it back to the shop and they told me that the I need to click the bottom of the left side. There seem to be 3 different part at the bottom that you can't see. And also there is a part in the middle that you can click. I found that on the manual. i should have read the manual first. I bought some domain names from Godaddy. when i type the name into my firefox address line, instead of going to the parking page at godaddy, where it should go, it gets redirected to searchpagefix and there is a message on the side that says looksafe has blocked a hijacking page, etc.. i've spent hours on the phone with godaddy. they say the problem is not on their end. they see my domain name (peter-maloney.com) on their parking page. i spent hours on the phone with Norton support, my security software. They ran tests and diagnostics and found nothing. I downloaded ad-aware and ran that, nothing. I looked for looksafe to uninstall, etc. and it doesn't show up anywhere on my windows 7 machine. any suggestions? did this looksafe thing somehow get embedded in firefox? do i need to reinstall firefox? would i lose all my favorites?

Bad redirects can result from a variety of causes, including (1) system level malware, (2) system level settings changes, (3) bad Firefox add-on, (4) Firefox settings changes, (5) other (depending on the nature of the redirect).
Here's what I suggest for tracking it down:
(1) Open the Windows '''Control Panel''', Uninstall a Program. After the list loads, click the "Installed on" column heading to group the infections, I mean, additions, by date. This can help in smoking out undisclosed bundle items that snuck in with some software you agreed to install. Take out as much trash as possible here.
(2) Then, in Firefox, open the '''Add-ons page''' using either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Plugins. Set nonessential and unrecognized plugins to "Never Activate".
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable (or Remove, if possible) unrecognized and unwanted extensions.
Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
(3) Check your '''Firefox connection setting''' in the Options dialog here:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > Network mini-tab > "Settings" button
The default of "Use system proxy settings" should piggyback on your Windows/IE "LAN" connection settings, but you also can try "No Proxy" to see whether that works better.

Just Bought an Imac...What do I do with the Install Disks?

I'm hoping someone may have some feedback on the following.
I just opened my brand new imac, turned it on and was able to launch a program.
But I see that there are two accompanying install disks. Do I need to still install something that is on the disks? Thanks for your advice and I hope you have a great week ahead.

I drifted through a stop sign at about 2 MPH just before the Border booths (two languages, I just did not see it) and got a breathalyzer test (passed) and a ticket from the RCMP for $121 Canadian for ignoring a traffic control device. It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion. Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reaosn you have failed to backup, then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod. File>Transfer Purchases

Before you go through that trouble open About this Mac > More Info... > System Report > Audio and see if the system actually knows it has a microphone. Then you can look into Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup and see if the microphone is there, select it and make sure the sliders are set to full. Then in System Preferences look for Sound > Input and make sure it shows up there and the sliders are at least half way up. If none of that works do a

Wait 15 seconds.
Attach the computers power cable.
Wait another 5 seconds and press the power button to turn on the computer.
It is the 5 second timing that initiates the reset.
then go through the process of looking for the microphone again as the reset may reenable the mic.
