Just installed a HP Color Laserjet CM2320nf MFP printer, at the same time I upgraded to Lion. It prints fine, but I cannot use the scan functions. I downloaded the most recent driver! Any help would be appreciated.

HP says that the drivers for your all in one print/scanner are downloadable from apple. For the scanner to use preview. image capture or the scan icon from the print driver queue. I don't know how old your HP is, but I know that the newer Os from apple don't support a lot of older printers. You might be able find a third party driver that could work.

You need to put the Tiger Install Disc in the 2011 iMac, boot the 2011 uMac into Target mode...

Boot the G4 holding the Option or alt key, hopefully the Install Disc in the 2011 iMac will show as a boot choice.
We just want to use the 2011 iMac as a big expensive FW Optical drive, it cannot be installed osing the 2011 iMac itself.

The USB mouse I am using works fine with no issues and I have already gone through the prompt to identify the keyboard in the settings. If anyone know of a setting I can use to permenantly enable the keyboard so I no longer have to unplug and replug it that would be appreciated.

Your 2010 MBP would be able to handle Yosemite, but I would strongly suggest that you get the current problem sorted out before trying to upgrade to Yosemite. I'd also recommend another backup that isn't created by Time Machine if you are thinking of upgrading. SuperDuper and CarbonCopyCloner can make bootable clones of hard drives. If you clone your existing system to a fresh external drive, you would be able to boot from that drive and recover quickly in the event that your Yosemite upgrade didn't work out. Time Machine backups are not 100% reliable.
It's possible that, if your internal HD is the one that shipped with your MBP in 2010, it may be failing. If it keeps needing repairs, that is probably a sign that it is approaching the end of its useful life.
Have you run Disk Utility's Repair tool on the external drive as well?
I mentioned the hub because some people have reported here that attaching their USB 3 drives through a USB 2 hub solved some disconnection problems. A good-quality powered USB 2 hub won't cost much.
My most recent brush with random disconnections involved a nice new OWC drive enclosure. I used the cable that came with the drive, but the drive kept disconnecting. Using a different cable solved the problem. You wouldn't expect that what appeared to be a high quality cable would be a problem straight out of the box, but it was.

I updated to the new itunes software on my windows pc. I plugged in iphone 4s to transfer music across. itunes then started wiping all other music, but still showing songs on phone etc. Playlists just scrolled through as though nothing was there. Summary on phone still showed music!
I manually manage music on the phone myself, never ticked syncing etc. Wiped all the music off phone, and started again. This worked once, and now has reverted back to showing less songs on the phone, but now appears to be re-adding the songs again when I've just connected it to add more music.
itunes didn't appear to have a problem when my ipod was connected. I'm loathed to reconnect now, as I have my entire music collection on there, and do not want that to be half deleted etc.
If anyone can help, that'd be appreciated.

i was a little mysterious in my post earlier. but what i'm wondering about is a weird silent version of one of these errors:
iTunes displays a -69 error when syncing iPod
-36 or "Disk cannot be read from or written to" error syncing iPod in iTunes
... i have seen a case where it turned out that a corrupt song file was causing the entire computer (not just itunes) to freeze up in the way you're describing (instead of returning a -69 or one of the other error messages).
what i think might be going on in these cases is that something strange happens during the "error reporting" phase of proceedings, and Windows gets desperately confused and goes into a sulk.
given that a bad cable can cause either the -36 or the -69, it's plausible that that could cause the silent version too ...
(this is all very hypothetical and conjectural, though. i could very well be barking up completely the wrong tree.)

Close all windows and quit all applications.
Launch Finder by clicking the Finder icon in the Dock.
Right click the "Application" folder and select "Get Info".
At the bottom of the resulting window there will be a blue folder icon in the preview section.
Drag the whole window to the right side of the desktop,closer to the Dock.
Now drag the blue preview folder to the Dock right of the separator line.
Right click the folder icon and select "Folder" under "Display as" if it is not shown as folder.

Start firefox and get to homepage . When proceeding to another link or page firefox stops responding and I get a black screen with a colored border stating at the top of the page that mozilla is not reponding. Try to go back to home page and mozilla shuts down. Any help would be appreciated. Prefer to use firefox over internet explorer in which case the problem is not duplicated. IE9 works fine. I created an account just to say that firefox is not what it used to be and I'm very disappointed in it and it's developers. I've been with firefox since the day of it's launch. Every new version after firefox 2 has been a let down--- what's the point when I get the same type of ridiculous crashes and freezes? What really annoys me is when I click "new" to create a new message to send within hotmail and it freezes for about 30 seconds to a minute. This happens every time without fail! I've updated a newer version 3 times and still the same thing. I've noticed that there have been more new releases, but I'm now convinced that it's only for show--- trying to stack up to Opera. Firefox copies off of Opera a lot, but it's too bad the developers can't copy it's stability. Who wants to have to read through forums looking for a fix... who has time for that? I don't want to, but I'm really considering leaving firefox for good. Please, get it together and FIX firefox.

I' my ust grasping at ideas to try and help. Is it possible that the paper is being loaded upside down? I know you said you've used this paper and printer before, (and I am not familiar with that paper) but Canon papers I have used display that behavior if they are loaded upside down. Do you have other paper you can try to see if it works OK on that paper?

Boot the MBP with the OPTION+COMMAND+R keys down. The result should be a display showing a revolving globe. By following the instructions, you will be able to reinstall the original OSX. Then you may reinstall Yosemite.
A solid Internet connection will be required.

Since you have a new hard drive, there is nothing on it, so you need to boot from an external source (and probably format the hard drive before installing an OS). Are you booting from the 10.6 install disk? Better yet - do you have a bootable backup clone or at least a Time Machine backup?

This what my IT replied with:
That teh MacBook cannot connect with RWW because it requires Active-X to connect. That MAc browsers (Safari) do not use Active-X but only Windows (IE) uses Active-X control.
It would seem to me that there must be a way around this. Any help?
