It's almost ok.
But.... there's just one more thing.
Is there a fix for resizing album art?
Currently there are three options: Small, Medium, Large. That's it. The drag-to-resize-to-whatever-size-you-want option has gone.
Oh! Actually, there is another thing.
Album name and artist is now listed to the right of the album art, not underneath it. This takes up a lot of horizontal space. It would be far better to return the album name and artist listing to below the album art picture, in my humble opinion. Anyone know of a fix for this?

Turn on iCloud and make sure you have an account.
Then got to Settings > iCloud > turn on Calendar and turn off the other options.
Same for MacBook.
I prefer OSX Mountain Lion (OSX 10.8.2) on the MacBook Pro for using iCloud. It includes more of the iCloud features that were missing in previous OSX versions.

Where can I find "One More Thing" and "MW 2005 Keynote" speeches?

Hi all,
Part of my "duty" as husband/dad/cousin/son/friend is to help the newer mac users around me better understand using their macs to the fullest. I find that SJ does a good job at giving an overview of the entire "Apple Universe" in his keynote speeches. Unfortunately, Apple removes these from their web site after a few months.
Does anyone know where I can find the "Mac World 2005 Keynote" and the "One More Thing (2005)" keynote speeches? My mom is switching over from pc and I'd like to send these to her so that she can quickly get an understanding of the mac platform

I don't think you can download them, though, I think there only streamable. And you're right, only the last few are there, but that takes you back at least till last september.

IPad 2 IOS 8.1.1 there is "one more thing"

Ipad 2 IOs 8.1.1 Now seems that things are going better, all is more quick and stable, but there is
"one more thing"
yet to resolve.
The ipad need 4-5-6 minutes to boot, it restart more than one and there is always the sensation that it will going to inside a infinite loop.
This problem is started for me with ios 8.0 when I due reinstall the Ipad for the beginning.
So I waiting for IOS 8.1.2 I hope soon. Thanks

There aren't too many things that prevent an iPad from charging.
1. Bad charger. Try a different charger. For charging iPads the best way to charge is to use the charger that came with the iPad and plug that into a known good wall outlet.
2. Bad cable. Try a different Cable.
3. Dirt, lint or fuzz in the connection port. Inspect and carefully clean with w wooden toothpick if necessary.
4. Software failure. Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button continuously until the Apple logo appears. Then release the button and let the device restart. You will not lose data doing this. It's like a computer reboot.
5. Hardware failure. Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

I'm gonna try this just ONE MORE TIME then.... I'm done with trying to figure it out.....

There's got to be some sort of explanation for this text shifting thing..... it's actually STOPPING me dead in my tracks trying to get ANY work done. So here I am groveling at the feet of the masters....
So.... as simple as I can show it (again).... screen one JUST a rectangle and some simple text lined up on the bottom of it... And screen two... the resulting text shift in 'Preview' mode.
And.... for the life of me I don't know why, but here's the Muse file... WAIT! where and how do I 'attach file' ? I see no access to that... oh well, how would that simple Muse file help anyway?

As to the font question. Yes, I can find fonts that it will work as expected—and this is the only work around. But of course not being able to use a desired font and then hunting for, and having to use an alternative is not a way I, nor you, would want to go...correct?
But..... I'm now in hopes that this will be addressed and corrected sometime in the near future..... why?
BECAUSE I FREAKIN' LOVE THIS PROGRAM.... and really wish to use it exclusively for website design.

JUST ONE MORE RAM QUESTION

can someone do a quick test for me...
1. can someone open up safari and iMovie together and see how much RAM the 2 use together
2. then, see how much they take up separately
3 also, for another RAM test, can someone open up both the apps. in iWork (not the microsoft package) and see how much RAM the two take up together, and then separately
4. then the same thing with Front Row
thanks, i'm just really trying to decide whether to get the Core Solo with 1 GB of RAM or the Duo with 512 mb of RAM, and those are the main apps. i will use
also, if you have front row running, can you do other things at the same time?

Get the solo with 1GB, then upgrade the chip later, costs will be down quickly with the next 64 bit core comin out, and have an even faster duo Yonah down the line as well. Your apps will run fine with 1GB of RAM, I recommend at least 1GB for either the DUO or the Solo. Even the in store mini demos are runnning 1GB I hear, Duo or Solo. With memory creeps, doesn't matter if you have 1 or 2 CPUs, you're still bound to RAM limits.
My personal experience with the solo at 512 was it was unbearable just doing nominal tasks, went to 2GB and she smokes on anything, I imagine 1GB will be good as well.
Can't wait to toss my new Seagate Momentus in there, then a Merom chip down the road. Which by then, a 2.0 Duo Yonah will be 250.

Just one more liccle question.....

Im seriously considering reinstalling OSX to reclaim some space. But how would i go about this and keep all my apps? How can i back them up? Just drap them to an external HD? Is that it? I dont want to be stuck with a useless laptop with none of my Apps!

If you really want to experience reinstalling OS X, fell free to do so, opt out the language, printer driver, ms office demo and iwork trial, and all application you don't want to use.
And your apps are third party apps, if it is a simple apps (freeware), just download new one and you might get latest versioon too. And for license apps, make sure you take out the license from your macbook first before you format your macbook and you might have to re-install it.
Remember to deauthorize your songs from iTunes if you have any, and back it up as well as your other data.

Can I activate my Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 just one more time?

I downloaded and installed Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 on my laptop. Two months later, the hard drive had to be replaced so I installed it again.
Now, it says that I cannot install it on my second computer because I have already activiated it and installed it on two other computers -- even though it's one laptop that went through 2 hard drives.
Help - how can I install it on my home computer?!

Thanks for your suggestions. Problem not resolved yet. To elaborate. I did the disk permission repair, downloaded 10.5.6 9 (even though that was the version I bought and installed) thinking it would facilitate 10.5.7. It didn't. I still cannot download 10.6.7 or 8, my email messages still won't display and to close mail or any browser I have to force quit them. I tried to download a relatively small file for a game and it would not download. In addition, any web pages take a long time to load. My ISP is of no help although, to their credit, they tried hard. What can I try next.? Thanks in advance.

One more memory question

Hi again everybody,
I just realized I forgot to ask one more thing about memory. Does anyone know, using System.setProperty, what the command is to set the JVM to a specific size inside the program? I don't mean setting the memory size permanently, I mean setting it just for the run of the program. I'm trying to get my application not to depend on the command line so I can take it out of my IDE.

Yeah Kajbj I agree with you only from external side we can set the heap memory size.
As you told already it is impossible to set the heap memory size dynamically with in the program.
Suppose Task A has B,C,D tasks and we want to set different set different size of heap memory to these tasks
in this case lets have B,C and D as separate processes and invoke them from A with the heap memory sizes we wanted.
Its just an idea feel free it criticize it.
*If our tasks are as simple as the ones i have told this will be good otherwise it becomes complete mess.

Unfortunately that is not all that uncommon for the Early Intel iMac's given there age and the fact that the air intakes are probably choked with dust. Then add the extra heat caused by running a more intense OS X which is causing it to run a little warmer than normal and putting extra stress on the graphic and display components.
My 6½ year old 17" Early 2006 Core Duo w/2GB of RAM is also running 10.6.8 and is also starting to get a single line that (knock on wood) goes away after a few minutes, while many others started getting permanent ones after 2 or 3 years. One thing that I think has helped, is that about every 3 or 4 months I shutdown and vigorously vacuum out the bottom grill work and small vent under the stand to keep it running cool.
On that note: unfortunately I can only suggest that you clean your intake vents and hope that no permanent or irreversible damage has been done.

I just purchased this product (acrobat online)
and it is not allowing me to do the things it promised, e.g. saving portions of one pdf to another, combining pages or entire docuements to create, even typing into a document (editing)! I am so frustrated - can someone please help!?

But I jut paid $89.00 for the adobe pack - if I subscribe to Acrobat Plus, will that be credited?

Thank you for your subscription. If you are Acrobat Plus subscriber then you can extract the pages from the PDF file using Tools> Pages> Extract pages.
You can find "Tools" at right top once you open your PDF file in Acroat.
If you are subscriber to PDF Pack then please download Acrobat XI Plus from www.adobe.com.
PDF Pack service offers "Convert to PDF", "Export from PDF"(to Word/PowerPoint/Excel/RTF formats so that you can edit the exported files) and "Combine Files" (combine your files into a single PDF file).
Please let me know if you have any quesitons.

If I Could Ask for Just One Thing in Siebel What Would it Be?

Think this is too interesting. A while back I was on a call with Oracle and was asked what one thing I would ask for if I could ask for anything in Siebel. At that time I drew a blank I could not think of an answer. I have two good ones now and want to see if this makes sense.
First – make the quality of Siebel releases even better than they are today. The quality of Siebel is very good but I would like to see it made even better. I wonder if part of this solution might be to not have so many code braches so more focus could be put on just one version. E.g. Instead of 8.0.0.0, 8.0.0.1 and 8.0.0.2 all being worked why not just put all the effort into 8.0.0.3 and making it super stable? Just an idea but improved release quality is wish #1.
Second – when the Siebel OM encounters an exception (e.g. address violation) don’t terminate the whole process and all the other threads (users) running. TOAD does this so we know it is possible. If TOAD encounters an address violation it pops up a message and allows me to report it back to their technical support but does not crash. We would need to discuss what should happen in Siebel but terminating the whole process and all the running users is painful for Siebel customers.

I was a bit unpleasantly surprised the automatic restart of the client after a compile was broken in Siebel 8. This was announced in 7.x as a productivity improvement for the Siebel developers, so I would say this should be part of the test scenarios for Siebel. But thanks for the fixpack.
One thing I noticed on my current project is that it would be nice to have a conditional expression on the State Model level itself. That way it is much easier to manage a State Model for a limited set. Otherwise you have to create all possible State Changes and put conditions on them.
Seeing that Runtime Events can work with conditions on two levels, I would see no significant hurdles to implement it for State Model.
And one little big annoyance is that you can't login with enter for the customer facing applications. Might not look like a big issue, but almost all web apps I use allow you to use enter after user and password. And don't forget you are ruining the first impression.
To end on a more positive note, I'm quite happy with Siebel 8.0 from a developer point of view. Keep up the good work and let's see how long I can stay a Siebel consultant. ;-)

i have created two procedure avg1 and avg2.avg1 calculate average of total salary based on e_id and avg2 calculate average based on j_id.now i want to create a package with specification and body where i want to use just one name -avg- for two different procedure.

You can overload the same name for procedure as long as their formal parameters differ in number, order, or datatype family.

HT204053 I had a mobile me account and now i have two apple id's how do i make it just one?

When I signed up for icloud I was told that i could just use my mobile me account. The problem was that my mobile me account creates an address for me and now that address is my icloud id. In addition to that my itunes store address is different but it is also an icloud id, but i want just one id. is there any way i can merge the two?

The same thing happened to me because I had an Apple ID that was not an email address under which I had made all my purchases and a me.com address that I initially used to set up my iCloud account. If you want to get all your purchases from the Cloud, then you need to do a couple of things: first, change the Apple ID that you purchased all your stuff under to be an email address. You can do that yourself by going to the page where you change your Apple ID. I think it's applied.apple.com but if that's not it, just search for "My Apple ID" in the search box on the support page. Sign in with your existing ID -- the one that is not an e-mail address -- and change it to an e-mail address. Be sure to remember this Apple ID. Then create your iCloud account using this Apple ID. You should be able to get all your stuff to download using this account.
The problem with this is now you will NOT have an iCloud account associated with your MobileMe account. If you're OK with that, you're good to go. I think you still have time to manually download all your stuff from MobileMe.
Apple phone support walked me through this, so if my instructions are confusing you can call them and get them to walk you through it too. It's a common problem.
