Just updated to Maverick and now I cannot open any of my applications on my Airbook. It shows the program running but no windows appear on the screen. Help!!!

Any ideas as to why the applications do not open in a window?

Is an external display connected and turned off? If not, open Mission Control. Do you see the window(s) in any other spaces?

Office 2008 and 2011 are compatible with OS X Mavericks.
If you are using Office 2008, I highly recommend you to reinstall the latest Office 2008 update > http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36897 Note that Office 2008 is not supported by Microsoft anymore

Welcome to the forums.
Please remove CUDA drivers from their computer. To remove CUDA drivers from the Mac, go to “Mac HD/Library/Frameworks” and delete “CUDA.Framework.”

Go to the HP site and look for drivers for your scanner. It apparently needs an updated driver to work with Mavericks.

Starting to type a name and getting a list of matches is good but it's not a substitute for being able to choose twenty or thirty names from your address book and dragging them into the "To" field. Of course many contacts can be put into a group but I may want to send occasional emails to many people who don't fit any group, and there may be no need to create a group just for that email.

I just uninstalled it and am waiting for it to reinstall. I sincerely hope that I have not lost everything that I worked on so hard. Now that mobile me is gone, I have not been able to go between devices to transfer things. ExportPDF is an online service, and there's nothing to download to your desktop, so it shouldn't have affected your PDF files. What happens when you try to open the PDF files? Are you opening them in Reader, or trying to open them in a web browser? I did recently work with another customer on this issue, and it turned out that an update to Firefox had somehow affected the file associations on her computer.
Please provide some specifics about how you're opening the files, what type of system you have (Mac OS or Windows), and what happens when you try to open those files.

Try Using Disk Utility to VERIFY your Hard drive and Repair Permissions. If Verify finds problems, you will need to boot to a different Volume (such as your Installer/Utilities DVD and run Disk Utility again from there.
