Just upgraded to OSX mavericks on macbook pro mid 2011 version. Having a big issue here that whenever my mac comes back from sleep, i.e after I open the lid, the screen flickers and there is an error of Finder not opening properly. Any fix to this?

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now. About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

Buggy OS X Mavericks on Macbook Pro Mid 2011
1.) Using 4 Fingers gesture to show list of applications. Scolling them from left to right or right to left is not that smooth as previous OS version.
2.) Mac App Store - iPhoto and iMovie are totally buggy. after i download this apps the "install" button became blurred but when after i restart my laptop its shows 0 kb of 1.1GB again and shows the "resume" button again and again.
so far this are my problems that i encounter.

I have issues on my MacBook Pro 2011 with Mavericks but so does my Parents iMac and my Uncle's 2009 Macbook Pro too. I am a heavy user of iPhoto / Aperture but have noticed tons of bugs using those Apps since the Mavericks update. Everything from opening iPhoto to importing photos causes iPhoto to hang or stop running. My fans speed up to infinity and beyond, about 5500 rpm. In iPhoto the Menu bar becomes unresponsive unless I click on an Event rightaway not to load whole library. Noticed the same sort of issues on my Parent's iMac as well with same type of misbehavior in iPhoto.
Besides iPhoto other Apple Apps from time to time fail to quit during exit of the Application. Like in iTunes sometimes hangs on quit or crashes altogether. iTunes playback skips more frequently too.. Whats weird non Apple apps tend to work, basically no crashes or glitches.. For the iTunes playback of video or music will start to skip after a few minutes of playing, if I take that same file and play in VLC or other third party Media App flawless playback of file.. Same with media on the Net I mostly use Chrome no issues playing my music via Google Play or watching video on Youtube all play wonderfully.
Just before the Mavericks update when I was on Mountain Lion these issues weren't present.. I have notified Apple Support via the Feedback form, they have gotten back to me and are aware of my issues, I am very impressed with Apple Support staff... -
I installed bootcamp 4.0 4033 so that I can install windows 7 32 bit on my mac. Everything works fine until I try to install the drivers and I get an error message stating the version of windows does not work with the drivers I am trying to install. I have a feeling somehow I am downloading 64 bit drivers when I need 32 bit. I spoke to Apple and they said I can't use 32 bit windows.. but that is not what the support site says (it says I can as long as I use bootcamp 4, not 5). Also, my bootcamp assistant is version 5.. I have no idea if that matters. Help please.. been searching online for hours.

I just upgraded to OSX Mavericks and when i use the gestures on my magic track pad it responds oddly. Sometimes it won't recognize when my simple gesture of scrolling through a document.
Gestures is not working like it did before. The side to side, forward back swipe, is very picky. Sometimes it takes four or five tries before it works. And yes I know how to do it. I have had a magic trackpad for about one year. And was greatly pleased by how it worked, BEFORE Mavericks. It has has indeed changed.

Hope I'm in the right place. First time user. Not tech savvy. Just upgraded to OSX Mavericks. Box keeps asking me to enter my iCloud password. I keep entering my password but box keeps popping back up asking for password?! I selected cancel but what should I do next time it asks for my iCloud password? Is my iCloud working? How do I retrieve my password?

I have a Macbook pro mid 2011 and just bought the Apple TV. While watching program or movie from any of the apps such as Watch ABC, the program keeps stopping and starting constantly.
That would indicate a network issue.
Reboot ATV and router
Make sure DNS is set to auto
Ensure router is up to date, if on wifi try ethernet
Go to istumbler.net to get a report of the network, look for signal strength and noise -
bought referbished macbook pro oct 2011 version, just set it up using time machine and quicklime pro has disappeared. I have quicktime but not quicktime pro. Any ideas? thanks!
Try, in preferences, resetting 64 bit to 32 bits. Should work fine. the older vidoes, etc will not work with 64 bit. Had the same problem/scare. Let us know if this helps and works!

However when finishing the installation for soundflower and click restart computer my mac now has a grey screen with a loading bar that doesn't finish. I already try safe mode and it doesn't work. Is there a way to disable sound flower installation?
No. You use "C" to boot from the optical drive
Hold down the Option key to select a different disk drive to boot from
When it comes up with all the disk that have an operating system on them, select the one with the bootable clone on it

My macbook pro i7 (2011 version) has a loud fan and a high cpu % when I have Skype on or when I am on Safari. My laptop would sometimes freeze for a while and it is usually hot. Has anyone else encounter this problem and know how to fix it? Thanks!
Skype is a very resource intensive activity...it has been reported on here users are seeing cpu temperatures on the order of 80-85 °C, within the limits of the cpu, but still hot to the touch.
Make sure nothing else is running so you keep the thermal load down. -
Can Apple replace my macbook pro (mid 2012) retina's battery if I think that the battery health has gone bad/in need of and renewal???
I've had my Macbook for about 11 months now and i use it every day; its gone though about 420 cycles of charging and using the power, and i noticed the battrey preformance has decreased (as expected). The problem isn't sevear yet but it would comfort me knowing that i could replace the battery in the near future

No only if they think under warranty/AppleCare, but your likely able to pay for a new battery if they have them, which they might not yet since it's such a new machine still.
BTW, I have a Early 2011 17" MBP, 27 months old, charges to 97% and has only 14 cycles. -

I have two questions...
1) If I do a clean install on my MacBook Pro will I be able to re-install apps (FCP, Aperture, MS Office etc.) from a Time Machine backup, or will I need the original install DVDs with authorization codes? (because I don't have them)
2) Has anyone ever seen anything like this before on their computers?
The Apple Genius' were stumped by my laptop issues and said they'd never seen anything like it before and recommended I did a clean install. Below you can see my trash bin, and if you look at the "Empty" button it reads "N201" and then there's the "N39" to the left of it. You can also see these numbers over by the folder area--"SD5, SD6, SD7." But that's not all...
When I right click on items I see the numbers again. Instead of "Open with" I get "N152" and there's an "N35" and "LB1" towards the bottom.
I have no idea what's going on so I'm just going to do a clean install on my machine but I don't want to lose my apps. I don't have the original install DVDs for them anymore. i see that i have a problem after installing my new hard drive on my macbook pro mid 2009 version. I put a new hard drive, with all of my information from my old drive installed on it, into the computer. but now have the blinking question mark folder. I see that it means that it isn't reading the new hard drive.
did i miss a step between transferring all of my information from my old hard drive to the new hard drive and installing the new hard drive into the computer. I believe that i installed properly. it was quite easy.
thanks for your helpIt means there is no bootable system on the drive. If you still have access to the old drive, then I suggest you boot from it then clone it to the new internal drive. Use OPTION boot to boot from the Recovery HD on the old drive:
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu then press the Continue
button.
2. Select the destination volume from the left side list.
3. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
4. Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it
to the Destination entry field.
5. Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to
the Source entry field.
6. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Source means the external old drive. Destination means the new internal drive. -
