JVMTI : AgentSetEventNotificationMode Causes Troubles in Lotus Notes

Hi Everybody
I have a JVMTI agent that i used to profile many java application ( Eclipse, Notes ...)
I discover that I have some troubles with Lotus Notes Release 8.5.2FP4 on WIN7 64x
(troubles like same time sigin windows don't open , contact window empty and it display nothing ...)
when trying to investigate it a find that the problem occured when I call JVMTI method SetEventNotificationMode with JVMTI_EVENT_CLASS_FILE_LOAD_HOOK as parameters
event with an empty callback I have always problem but only with notes
in Trace log I found message like :

when I try to desable this Event (JVMTI_EVENT_CLASS_FILE_LOAD_HOOK ) evry lotus notes fonctionnalities works well

What version of Notes do you have? I get a message saying "Domino Web Access has not been certified to work with this browser" and I can choose one of:
Try Domino Web Access anyway
Use Lotus iNotes ultralite mode
Use WebMail
Logout

As Mike says, it is pretty much useless with a touch screen. I can preview a message, I can create a new message, but I can't type in the body of the new message.
I can switch to Lite, but the text is so small I can't read it. Clicking New doesn't seem to do anything here.
I start over. Apparently that Lite mode isn't the same as Ultralite. The Ultralite mode seems to work fine and even has a distinct iPhone-esque look to it.
The last option, just WebMail looks like a real old, rude and crude webmail version done by somebody's kid that is good with computers.
So, see if you have access to the Ultralite mode. That one is definitely the best. Our Lotus Notes servers also have IMAP servers as well. I tend to use those instead of an actual Lotus client.

Trouble accessing Lotus Notes DB Via ODBC NotesSQL 8 driver.

Hello,
I am using Crystal Reports version XI and am trying to access lotus notes database via an ODBC connection. My reports have been running sucessfully but we recently upgraded to Lotus Notes 8. I was receiving error messages stating that the ODBC driver was not compatible so I upgraded to Lotus Notes 8 SQL driver. Now I am receiving the following errors.
Crystal Reports
Database Connector Error: 'IM005:[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver's SQLAllocHandle on SQL_HANDLE_DBC failed'
Crystal Reports
Logon failed.
Details: 01000:[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] The driver doesn't support the version of ODBC behavior that the application requested (see SQLSetEnvAttr).
I am now using NotesSQL 8 and Lotus Notes 8, is there something that I need for crystal to recognize them.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Stacy,
I would appear Lotus changed the way their ODBC driver works from version 6. According to our [platforms |https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/e09198a1-911e-2b10-179f-ce8eed51aed0] for CR XI we only support Lotus Notes 6.
We can't fix this now but you may want to ask Lotus if they know of any work arounds or updates to make it backward compatable.
You may want to try donwloading CR XI R2 SP4 and use your XI keycode to see if that works.

Lotus Notes Mail remotely gives me following "A problem has occurred which may have caused the current operation to fail. A problem has occurred which may have caused the current operation to fail." Works OK with IE9 64bit, IE9 32bit and Google Chrome.

I get Lotus Notes Mail from the Acton site link to the lotus domino server.
Works fine in IE9 (32 & 64bit) and with Google Chrone. Google 7 gives the following error:-
"A problem has occurred which may have caused the current operation to fail."

Actually, this isn't a cache problem, it's an issue with iNotes and Firefox 4. I found the answer in comments at a similar question. See:

I downloaded the Remote XUL Manager add-on for Firefox (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/remote-xul-manager/), restarted FF, went to Tools and scrolled down and clicked on "Remote XUL Manager." I clicked "Add" and pasted the URL for the link where I log-in to Lotus Notes into the dialogue box, and ta-dah! Back to email. Took me longer to type this than fix the problem.

CrystalReports XI RDC causes a disfunction of Lotus Notes Single SignOn

Our customer uses Lotus Notes. When he installed the CR RDC merge modul (XI Rel. II, SP6), the single signon for Lotus Notes doesn't work anymore. That means the customer has to type in username and password once more if he want's to use Lotus Notes. It seams that the single signon service is running.
The registry key "ProviderOrder"="RDPNP,LanmanWorkstation,WebClient,npnotes" is correctly sorted (I found that in another forum). Any suggestions? TIA, F. Bartsch

Well there may be an issue with the RDC, but it seems that yourself and one other have just seemed to report it. We don't have any other information then that. I want to add my two-bits similar along the lines of what Don and Ludek was saying. Personally I would look at the runtime differences before and after the RDC stuff is installed. We have an application called modules, that takes a snap-shot of the runtime in memory for all applications currently running on the system. By running lotus before your RDC install creating a modules snap-shot, and after the install then you will see what the differences are. Perhaps this is just a difference in the COM files on the system.
As for creating a support case, there is only so much we can do on the forums. Support cases allow you to engage an engineer directly to try trouble shooting and modules would probably be the first thing they would get you to do. If this does turn out to be an issue with our product then there is a process to get a refund on the case. However this is contingent on us determining that it is in deed our issue.

Trouble with Acrobat 9 Pro and Lotus Notes

Hi folks,
I have an client, running Windows 7 Pro with M$ Office 2007 Pro, Lotus Notes 9 and Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro.
My problem is, that I am not able to initiate an e-mail-based review.
I can't choose an adressbook, it always says that there is no connection to the e-mail-program.
Also if I enter an valid e-mail-adress this message appears.
Lotus Notes 9 is set as the standard mail program in windows.
I hope, you can understand my problem and you can help me.

Hi Christian,
Please set Outlook as default mail client and see if review can be initiated successfully or not.
Also note that, Lotus notes 9 is not officially supported with Acrobat 9.

Lotus Notes Backup data .nsf file corrupted

Hello friends,
One of my users backed up data (nsf file) of Lotus notes got corrupted. The file size is 4 GB. Now the user is asking me to retrieve the data (mails) and i am not able to find any utility.
Anyone having idea about any such free utility / tool to repair corrupt .nsf file.

Lotus Notes Database data corruption usually occurs when the software application or the operating system crashes while the .OND data file is open in memory. In most cases, headers or parts of the data file are not saved to disk causing the data
corruption or the application to fail. There are ways to recover all or part of your data file. U should immediately make 2 or 3 backup copies of the corrupted OND file(s) and stop using the computer except to send the file(s) for recovery analysis.
There is a very good tool NSF Repair Kit such is powerful that repairs & Recovers Lotus Notes NSF file & restores them in original format to any user-intended location.
1. Make a new copy of the database and deselect Access Control List in the “Specify What to Copy” section of the Copy Database dialog box. This will bypass the corrupt ACL and create a default ACL that you can then modify as necessary.
2. Replace the design of a mail database with a non-mail template and then do a replace back to the mail template, which has been known to correct corrupted ACLs.
3. From the Administration client > Files tab, select a healthy ACL database where the ACL is similar to the one that needs to be replaced. Right-click and select ACL.Copy. Select the bad ACL database then right-click and select ACL.Paste. This
is an easy way to reset the ACL.

Lotus Notes - email no longer converting

I am no longer able to successfully create pdfs (from either individual emails or folders) using the Acrobat toolbar button or the Acrobat choices added to the dropdown menu. All I receive now is "failed to convert" messages with no real information.
IT assures me that there have been no changes in Lotus Notes at our organization and I do not see anything from Adobe updates that could cause the problem.
I can still print choosing Adobe PDF as my printer, but this does not preserve attachments, a critical requirement for me.
Please help. This was an excellent way for me to archive and search my email.

There are no possible triggers that I know of. I was archiving my email once a month, give or take a week, so the timeframe for potential unwanted changes is long.
During that time I know there were Adobe product updates for my CS3 which I allowed. Also, our IT group can push out software updates remotely for Lotus Notes and other software, so all I have is their assurance that nothing changed.
This issue is happening for all mail items, for both the inbox and my user created folders.
Our Lotus Notes administrators will not support non-Notes software and our on-site IT was essentially out of ideas after the reinstallation did not solve anything.
I did find a non-Adobe workaround to export my email to Thunderbird (portable version) so I can at least have a way to archive and get my email off the system and server, but the Acrobat archive was much more efficient.

test environment. No problem to search lotus notes content.
In production environment, we've followed the same procedure but we are facing the following problem. During the full crawl, the below error is thrown

We have forced Lotus Notes Connector to be more verbose, without success.

Reset the index and re-crawl. That usually claers it
If you are using NTLM authentication, then make sure that you specified the PassThrough authentication for crawling
Probably you need to debug the BDC code that underlies the external content types.
can you Check the permission that you have set for the lotus notes domino databases? Was the content access account added to the local administrator group?

I can no longer open lotus notes with firefox 4.0 -- how do I revert to the previous version?

Lotus notes is my work email system. I can still open it on safari on my Mac, but I get a message that an error may have occurred that causes the application to fail.

Look in your Applications folder. If your system behaved as expected, you should have an iMovie 9.0 folder in your Applications folder. Apple moved the old version there as even they suspected the new versions was a train wreck.

BB Curve 8520 sync w/ Lotus Notes 6.5

I am helping out a co-worker.
He is using the BB Curve 8520 and would like to be able to sync his calendar. We don't have the BB Enterprise server (yet). We use Lotus Notes 6.5 as our email client.
When we connect the phone via the USB, go into DM it sees the phone. I can sync the contacts w/out issue. However, anytime I try to sync the calendar it shuts down DM and gives the general "Blackberry Desktop Software has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." But all the times I try, there is never a solution.
When speaking with this user, he mentioned that there were a couple of others that were experiencing the same thing.
When the DM was orig installed on the computer it would sync for approx 1 week, but then stopped working. If DM is uninstalled, and reinstalled, it will work for approx 1 week again. This is not a suitable option to uninstall & reinstall every week.
The users have various versions of MS Windows (XP Pro upto 7 Pro), and all have the latest version of DM from the BB site.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Can you please try to do the following in the steps .
1) Search for the file nslbe.dll which can be in the folder c:\program files\notes . Add the location to the PATH variable in the environment variables.
2) Go to the installation folder for Lotus notes which might be c:\program files\Lotus\Notes\jvm\lib\ext . In this folder please put the following files Notes.jar,mail.jar,activation.jar, nslbe.dll. Please do take care that you will need to add the files in the folder ..\jvm\lib\ext
3) Add the ..\jvm\lib\ext folder location to your environment variables.
4) Create a environment variable JAVA_HOME and add the location of the jre-bin,lib and the JDK-bin,lib to this.
Restart your Server and the system where in you want to install the connector and try to run the installation again .

Set Lotus notes ITResource parameter 'idType' to '1'

Since downloading Firefox 4, I am unable to open attachments in my Lotus notes e-mail account, but not if I open Lotus notes via Internet Explorer.

I recently downloaded the latest version of Firefox (I have been using older versions for the last two years). However, when using my Lotus Notes e-mail account (through the University of Dayton), I immediately was unable to open e-mail attachments (both new e-mails and older, saved e-mails with attachments that had previously been opened. The word "attachment" appears at the end of the message (in light grey), but does not respond to the cursor. I have delayed working on this problem, because if I open Internet Explorer instead of Firefox, my Lotus Notes account will allow me to view new and past attachments. It seems that the new Firefox has changed some security setting that does not relay attachments with my incoming or stored e-mails. Suggestions--or should I continue to just always open with Internet Explorer?

Lotus Notes 8 + BB DM 5.0.1: BB Desktop Manager has encountered a problem and needs to close.

I just purchased a Bold 9700 and am trying to sync my Lotus Notes 8 calendar to my BB. I am using Desktop Manager 5.0.1. I appear to have set up the syncronization properly because it starts but when it reaches record 1057, I receive a message that reads "BlackBerry Desktop Manager has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." When I click on "details" I see the following information: Error Signature. AppName: Desktopmgr.exe   AppVer: 5.0.1.37   ModName: Insections.dll   ModVer: 7.1.1.129 Offset: 001a32ed. How can I successfully sync my calendar and BB?

Otherwise, I would think that record 1057 is a bad record and is causing this problem. You might try figuring out which item that is and deleting it, then trying again.
You also could try activating advanced logging and seeing it that provides more details to help you:
