[KDE 4.10] 'kdeartwork-wallpapers' and 'kde-wallpapers' pkgs
Is there a reason for the split? It appears like they both belong together.
They come from different tarballs. kde-wallpapers are the basic default ones, kdeartwork-wallpapers are additional and the default ones from old KDE versions.

Yes, I already have Logic Installed. And, yes, I've read ALL the other posts I can find... but I don't HAVE a ProMediaIO.pkg file ANY WHERE in my system. And I KNOW how to find these things
This is maddening, and absolutely embarrassing that Apple hasn't provided a fix for this. It seems that a TON of people are having this exact same issue, but nothing I can find to solve this.
And NO, using Pacifist to hack into the file doesn't count... although I guess I'll do it if I have to :P
Any hints? Help?
tx,
eWhat Tom said.
Alternatively, you may control-click the application and choose "Open" - this should present a dialog warning but allow you to proceed.
This should only be necessary each time you start a given application *for the first time*. In the future, a mere double-click or any other standard method of starting the application will work. -
Encrypt sensitive with password and calling sub pkgs
Hi we run 2012 enterprise and r introducing a db2 connection that "allows saving password".
We run from the file system (not the catalog) and face a challenge.
The default prot level on the SUB PACKAGE that has the db2 connection (only such connection right now) prevents our prod credentials from making the connection because its a different user than the one that created the sub pkg.
Encrypt sensitive with password seems a more strategic alternative but I dont know if the param (I think its called "decrypt") on the dtexec command line that allows passing a password at run time applies to just the parent pkg or all subs also.
I dont want to delay validation. I wouldnt even mind changing the xml connection string (by entering pswd in whatever syntax is necessary) using notepad but dont know what issues that will cause.
I wouldnt mind having someone logon and "re" save the pkg using the credentials of our prod userid and choosing the default prot level instead.
I also wonder if none of the other pkgs (including master) dont have any sensitive data, can their prot level defaults be left alone?
Can the community comment?If you are having sensitive info (passwords for conn strings etc) in our packages, the best way is to change the protection level to "encrypt sensitive with password" and then provide the password.
When we schedule a job or exec the parent package, the child packages are called automatically.
Thanks, hsbal -

Not sure why it jokes on this, as the files should not be part of kdeartwork-wallpapers:
http://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra … allpapers/
Maybe your mirror has not synched completely yet? You could check manually if it already has the new kdebase-workspace.
Apart from all that, you could just hold back kdeartwork-wallpapers for now and update the rest.

[SOLVED] kde 4.8.4?
Hi All,
Just installed Arch and really like it. I was reading in the forums that people are running KDE 4.8.4, and it appears to be in the repos, however, when I do an about in any KDE app, it shows 4.8.3.
How can I get 4.8.4?
Thanks!

Here is what I have currently:
# Mirror selected during installation
Server = ftp://mirrors.kernel.org/archlinux/$repo/os/$arch
Also, I have the new keyring thing turned off atm due to lack of time to generate entropy (I will probably do that today). Do you think that might have an impact on package availability?
Thanks for the replies!

And, NoUpgrade is used to prevent files from being overwritten, not preventing package upgrades. -

Server 2: http://arojas.hol.es/repos/kde-beta/
Pakages are x86_64 only, and signed with the key ID 941C2A25
The following packages are ported to KF5: kwrite, konsole, gwenview, kate, kalgebra, kanagram, khangman, kig, parley, okteta, kapptemplate. They will replace the corresponding KDE4 version. There are also three additional packages katepart4, konsolepart4 and oktetapart4, which are needed for some KDE4 applications that still use their Kparts. You will need to install them manually if you use any of these apps (e.g. yakuake) before upgrading.
Please test and report packaging and upgrading issues in this thread, so that we help making the update as smooth as possible when KDE Applications 14.12 hits [extra]. Other bugs and issues should be reported upstream to http://bugs.kde.org
EDIT 30/11/14: Konversation 1.6 beta (KF5 based) added
EDIT 12/12/14: Calligra 2.9 beta added
EDIT 16/1/15: KDE Applications 14.12 is now in [testing], so removed all outdated beta packages.

Does anyone understand why installing kde-meta-kdeartwork needs kdebase-workspace in the end?!?

hi
the new kde version is now in testing
that are prepackages but if nothing changes they will be the final one
please test them and report errors
changes since 3.3.1 can be found here:
http://www.kde.org/announcements/change … o3_3_2.php
changes from my side:
kdebindings now compile again with java support
added qscintilla to kdebindings
the startkde script has been changed again!
please the guys with tcsh problems test it
added /opt/kde/lib/pkg-config to kde.sh
modified arch splash screen a little bit
cleaned up and added depends
enjoy new kde 3.3.2 release
greetings
tpowaIs anyone else having problems with the document relations toolbar that kdeaddons provides for konqueror? I just installed the version of kdeaddons from testing (as part of a completely fresh arch install, so there were no prior version of kde installed) and now everytime I open a tab, a new document relations toolbar opens up on the left side. This occurs even when I set the Tools/Document Relations/Configure setting to Never. And these toolbars never vanish. When I close the tab, they remain. Here's a screenshot of my konqueror window with three tabs open and six document relations toolbars.
http://img107.exs.cx/img107/5305/l6zkonq.png
Is there somewhere else I should be looking to turn off the document relations feature? I like the stuff provided by kdeaddons, but all these toolbars are a little annoying. -
Gnome && kde installation failed!!!
1)
I've tried pacman -Sy gnome
pacman -Sy gnome-extra, it installed both of them but can not get gnome to work;
the error is:
can not find libssl.so.0.9.7
I've tried a locat libssl and found libssl.so.0.9.6
i've copied it to libssl.so.0.9.7, and now another error is found
can not find libcrypto.so.0.9.6.
I just finished a few hours ago pacman -Su.
what must I install/update to make this work?
2)
pacman -Sy kde
after he downloaded every thing he said:
error: archive kde-base-3.2.2.1.pkg.tar.gz is corrupted
if I try again
pacman -Sy kde
it won't download and say this again.
what should I do ?kde corrupted pkg:
[damir@Asteraceae /]$ rm /var/cache/pacman/pkg/kdebase-3.2.2.1.pkg.tar.gz
and then try again
libssl trouble:
hmm ...
is your system up-to-date? (pacman -Suy)
if so, can you tell, what programm is searching for 0.9.6?
good luck -
Who can help to live, or slow internet and large packages
I have slow internet(mobile gprs 10 kBytes/s). Updating packages like "kde-wallpapers" or "kdeartwork-wallpapers" take a long time despite the fact that the contents of the package no major changes. If you do a binary diff, for example on the "oxygen-icons" you can only download about ~300 kilobytes. Can support in the pacman binary diffs of packages, and on the server generating diff`s of these files by utility xdelta3? Or make it a separate utility (such as yaourt) which will download the differences and generate packets, and pacman will install it.
Who now cant help me, please generate diffs(from testing kde 4.9)

How do I configure Kwallet to manage SSH and GPG keys? [SOLVED]
I'm using a select few KDE programs (not the DE) such as Kontact (and with that KMail, Korganizer, Kaddressbook...) and Kwallet. I've got a GPG and an SSH key which I need in Git to sign commits and push. I'd like to have Kwallet manage ALL of these passwords/passphrases, (e-mail, SSH, GPG) and only be prompted for a password to unlock my wallet once per session - or better yet, have the wallet unlocked by logging in (like the keychain in OS X). I'm currently using SLiM (systemd, slim.service) as the login manager. I had a glance at this tutorial for inspiration but to no success...
This is my ~/.xinitrc:
#!/bin/sh
if [ -d /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d ]; then
for f in /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d/*; do
[ -x "$f" ] && . "$f"
done
unset f
fi
# Hide mouse cursor when idle
unclutter -idle 4 &
# Background image
hsetroot -fill $HOME/img/08.jpg &
# Window manager
xmonad
This is my ~/.zprofile (failed attempt, fake GPG-key name)
#!/bin/sh
# Load keychain to handle ssh and gpg keys
export SSH_ASKPASS=/usr/bin/ksshaskpass
eval `keychain --eval id_rsa 1234ABCD`
$HOME/.keychain/`hostname`-sh
$HOME/.keychain/`hostname`-sh-gpg
This is my ~/.gnupg/gpg.conf (commented lines not included)
no-greeting
require-cross-certification
charset utf-8
keyserver hkp://keys.gnupg.net
Last edited by totte (2012-10-25 10:49:52)No success so far, really, need more ideas.
Neither of /etc/kde/env/{gpg,ssh}-agent-startup.sh seem to be run by anything automatically on my system upon boot and logging in. I tried going back to the beginning and I got GPG working alright, when signing a commit I was automatically authenticated. SSH however still prompts me by CLI to enter my passphrase when I try to git-push or ssh into a server. I set an empty password for the wallet to have it "unlocked by logging in". I thought setting "export SSH_ASKPASS='/usr/bin/ksshaskpass'" in ~/.zprofile would have it prompt for the password in some manner of Qt window related to Kwallet, but apparently it doesn't. In top both ssh-agent and gpg-agent are displayed as running - but if I run gpg-agent in Konsole I get the output "gpg-agent: no gpg-agent running in this session", ssh-agent on the other hand outputs "SSH_AUTH_SOCK=/tmp/ssh-noaDS3C4AP8M/agent.1830; export SSH_AUTH_SOCK;
SSH_AGENT_PID=1831; export SSH_AGENT_PID;
echo Agent pid 1831;".

To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List. -
