Keeping track of ages of friends and relatives

Can you advise me as to what software, Apple of third party, will print out calendars for me listing important birthdays or anniversaries, AND INCREMENT THE NUMBER OF THE BIRTHDAY OR ANNIVERSARY FROM YEAR TO YEAR.
In other words, say I enter a birthday into the software for 2006, such as May 29, 1936, I want the calendar to show that on May 29, 2006 that this will be the 70th birthday, and next year to reflect that it will be the 71st birthday.
Steve Schwartz, author of books on Microsoft Office 2004 for the MAC and Entourage has informed me that Entourage cannot do this.
Surely there must be some software for the MAC thast can do this.

I just sent Apple the same request. I also added that Address Book needs to be upgraded and able to have multiple dates that automatically appear in i-Cal. From what I've gathered only one Birthday can be added per address card. Your Idea of adding age incriments is great! But I also want to be able to add peoples anniversaries to address book and have them appear in i-Cal just as Birthdays do now. I mean what happens when, on one address card, you have for example, "Jane & Jim Doe", there are two Birthdays and one Anniversary on this one card. Seems silly to me that I have to enter 3 cards to Address Book in order to get these dates to appear in i-Cal. And besides that, the Anniversary is listed as a Birthday! There is no way to change that.

It might be more than you need, but I use 1Password on my MacBook and my iPhone to keep passwords safe. The application also has other categories such as "Wallet," "Secure Notes," and "Software." You will have to manually type in software registration (or cut and paste), but I keep all my info there. There are fields for the vendor's URL, purchase date, etc. Quite a good application. And it also syncs between computer and phone. Maybe download the 1Password trial and see what you think of it.

Any Software/Program to keep track of growth of Datafiles and Tablespaces

I am looking for a program that can keep an eye on the growth of the datafiles and tablespaces as well as it can raise an alert when the growth is critical regarding the space.
Can anybody suggest me such program/tool/utility/script?

There are plenty of vendors out there that sell very high-end database monitoring tools. Quest has a whole suite of them. Any of these guys should have tablespace monitoring (and a variety of other reports) as part of the package.

How to keep track of last song played?

Hi!
Does anyone know how to keep track of which song played last time before itunes was closed? I have a big list of songs in my playlist and I play it everyday while I'm working. If I shut down my computer and start it again the next day, I have to manually look for the song I played the previous evening. Is there a way where it will keep track of the last song and play it from that?

Subwaygirl, welcome to the Mac family! I'm not sure whether you're asking about beginning to play from the last song played on your iPod or iTunes so I'll answer both.
From the iPod, simply hit Play and it will begin at the next song. It cannot go back to the last song played.
From iTunes, use my answer to Chris to add the Last Played column, sort by that and select the song at the top of the list. That is your most recently played song. If you hit the >> or Next button you will then go to the next song in the randomly-sorted list.

Keeping track of prints

I've tried to find out how to keep track of the printjobs on my Airport network with a Canon Pixma MP980 printer. The printer software apparently only keeps track of a weeks jobs, and on the Console I can only find error_log. No print_log.
Does anyone know how to keep a complete "track-record" of printerjobs?
Why: I use ink as fast as a newborn baby swallows mothers milk, and no one on the network seems to be printing...

Is there a page_log there? That's the cups file that keeps track of the print jobs.
There is also the menu in the printer's proxy to show completed jobs.

Importing Images as Referenced and Keeping track of Imported Folders.

I'm not sure how to even go about describing this issue other than to relate it to the way Lightroom handles the same situation. I'm trying to figure out how to keep track of the specific folders of images I Import in to Aperture to make sure that all have been imported properly. In Lightroom, in the left panel, you see an exact replica of the folders/images as they appear on the drives thay were Imported from. You then have the option of creating your own specific Gallery of Images, something similar to Projects, that show up below the Imported folder tree.
In Aperture, there is no way to see the folder structure that the images came from that I know of. When importing thousands of images this can get very confusing and lead to missing groups of images. Images that nver get Imported. Does anyone know if we can set Aperture up in a similar fashion as Lightroom or does anyone know if a workaround that accomplishes a similar goal?

Lightroom can show you the exact structure of the files on disk.
Aperture has an abstraction layer between the files on disk and the files it manages.
This is both a blessing and a curse, depending on what you want.
In Aperture when you import you can select "Leave images in their current location." That should work fine, and give you referenced images. I personally have never seen this fail, but in the event that it did, and for example 102 of 106 images were imported, I don't really know of an easy way to show via Aperture what didn't get imported.

Have a Friends and Family plan. I have unlimited data and want to keep it. Questions on what I can and can not do with account changes.

So I am on Friends and Family 2000minutes and unlimited Text.
4 phones.
My phone has Unlimited Data and Hotspot
Other 3 do not have any data.
I am curious what I can do and can't do that will keep keep the plan as is and not force things to share everything.
I am allowed to have 5 phones under this plan. I am curious about adding and deleting phones.
I did try and add a 5th phone. When I tried to activate a 5th phone online it would not let me do it. Tried to get me to change plans.
Here are a few scenarios that I see coming up in the future.
I would like to add a 5th phone. My father has an account and I would like to roll him into my plan instead of his own account. I have already done this once before many years ago with no problem with 2 of the lines that I currently have. Is this possible or is that enough to trigger the move share everything scenario.
Second. how about removing a line from my plan?
One of my numbers is for an 18YO that wants to be more independent and have their own account. Can I down the road either transfer that line and number to its own account which would be share everything (I do understand that). Or can I delete that line from the account without triggering the share everything scenario?
Also it seems when I look online I can change data plans currently three phones are on data block. Can I actually change them to a data plan within the Friends and family or is the Share everything scenario triggered. What about if I change them to a smart phone from their basic/feature phone. I know I can't get unlimited data but can I still get them on my friends and family tiered data plan?

yes to everything; you can add a line (up to 5 total for Family Share), drop a line, upgrade a basic line to a smartphone (and then add a tiered data plan) and stay on your current calling plan ... it may be easier done in your local Corporate Verizon store, though ... just be sure they don't try to switch you to Share Everything if that's not what you want

You cannot delete the iCloud account that is signed on to Find My iPhone unless you know the password. This is called the Activation Lock:
ACTIVATION LOCK
It is an anti-theft security measure that is a part of iOS 7. You can only get around this by following the steps in this support article:
Find My iPhone Activation Lock: Removing a device from a previous owner’s account
Contact your friend. This is the only way around the lock.

Oh nice, there's a PassKeeper application for the iPhone and iPad. Simply install it and it should talk you through steps, otherwise their website is probably a great place to check.

NOTE: Now I tried disabling the crossfade feature and it worked, started to count again. But I like crossfade, I don't want to keep it off.

I think I got this figured out. The playcount does update, but not how the previous iPod models update their playcount. Instead of immediately updating the playcount right after you finish the song like the older iPod models, iPod Touch keeps the updates in memory. The next time you connect to iTunes it'll sync those playcounts in memory to the actual songs itself, effectively updating the playcount of the songs only after connecting to iTunes. I have set my syncing manually. That's why after connecting to iTunes, my playcounts are updated. BUT it doesn't solve the mystery of my Smart Playlist. Even though in iTunes, the correct songs are listed, in the iPod Touch, it shows the old playlist.
Don't you just hate that? It was working fine before on non-iPod touch models. Now we have to live with this new bug. I just hope when they release software 2.0 it fixes these bugs and that they *give it for free!* People shouldn't be charged on something they should have gotten as a support!

Why do my songs and audio books keep getting erased when I add a new book? Now some books will not play and the iPod does not keep track of where I was when I pause a book, leave for music and then go back!

About a month ago I added some new audio books to my iPod Classic and then after disconnecting, I discovered EVERYTHING had been erased.
I had to restore through my iTunes but then I could not load my music back on.
I uninstalled / reinstalled iTunes and completely reformated the iPod drive.
I successfully got my music and books back on but then added a new book two days ago only to discover everything got erased AGAIN!!!
Of course, my 1 Year Warranty was up about a week before the first incident.....
I formatted the iPod again, uninstalled / reinstalled iTunes (it was freezing during sync) and downloaded all my music and books again.
Now I have several books that will not play (they play on iTunes and they played on the iPod before all these events) and the iPod does not keep track of where I was in a book when I have to stop and go to something else.
Does anyone know what is going on with this thing??? I have a 5th Gen Video and in all the years I've had it, I've NEVER had problems like this!
Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to get my iPod Classic up and running properly again?

When iTunes/iPod sync process failed due to timeout, the iPod, has only the initilaised filesytem structure at the start of the Sync.
The timeout failure could be due to
Bad hardisk - do the iPod disk diagnostic, refer to this excellent post by tt2
Slow USB port or resource - Dont use any USB hub, disconnect all other USB devices while syncing
Timeout due to Antivirus or other plugins - disconnect from Internet and stop the Antivirus or monitoribng software if you are syncing.
Preferably stop doing other things while syncing this ancient device, which the latest iTunes designer, think will soon be extinct.

EDIDS table would have the IDOC Number & sales order number. Parameter 2 is the field in EDIDS which would have the sales order number.
I understand that this table would have many records but i dont think any other table would have the above combination. If you get any other table, then pls. do update @ it on this thread.

Need to keep track of URL and a count variable

Can anyone suggest the best way to keep track of a URL and a count variable associated with each URL. I have started using 2 List objects. When I add a URL I also add a 1 in the count List Object. I am using List Objects because I must be able to sort them and search through them.
Can anyone verify that I am going about this the correct way?
