  • What's the difference between SNC and SRM?

we will sell SNC in Q2.But i don't know what is the difference between SNC and SRM.
i've heard SNC suit Direct procurement better than SRM...
Pls give me the advice and information.
    good regards kenji

    Hi Kenji,
SRM is more of Supplier Identification and SNC work of building
relationship with Supplier starts after this Supplier identification.
SNC is very Good tool to handover Inventory replenishemnt
to Suppliers and it gives Visibility of inventory information over Web UI.
SNC has many processes like PO Collaboration, SMI, DR,DCM, SNI,
Invoice Collaboration,Release process...to accomplish above mentioned task.
SNC is designed for direct materials procurement.
SRM has contract negotiations, bids, auctions for sourcing to identify suppliers
SRM is good for basic purchasing fuctionality and suitable for indirect materials.
In addition to all these SNC has Customer Collaboration functionality also.

  • Key Configuration differences between SAP and ORACLE Financials

    Hello,
After spending good 7 years in SAP related projects recently I started working in ORACLE Applications. I used to be an ORACLE programmer years back. To my surprise the same <b><u>ORACLE Forms</u></b> are still very much the heart of the ORACLE UI.
Then I thought what will be the key differences between ORACLE and SAP in terms of configuration elements. While I know a bunch of configuraion items in SAP , I am not sure about the same in ORACLE world. I am not even sure some of the configuration items that are available in SAP exists in ORACLE.
Does anyone know both sides of the coin ? The terminology and design ?
    SAP has
Client,Company code, Business area, Functional Area, GL, Posting Key, Document Type.
I am trying to get the details of the equivalents of these in ORACLE.
    Does anyone know it ?
    For e.g , when you post to <b>AP</b> or <b>AR</b> in <b>SAP</b> , <b>GL</b> is updated  automatically. In <b>ORACLE</b> you post to a <b>AP Book</b> or <b>AR Book</b> then Run a batch to move them to <b><u>GL Book</u></b>.
ORACLE uses SQLLoader to load data . You can write a PL SQL and update the tables directly, which is not the case in SAP. For dataloads and conversions, SAP uses BDC's ( though XI can be used but its slow). For ORACLE its the good old SQL and PlSQL combo.
What are the equivalents of the configuration elements in ORACLE world ?
Also what are the major differences between these two in terms of designing a financial system.
    Does any one know ?

    Genie,
I agree that a case is made on how well these two ERPs solve the day to day tasks before a company chooses one of these two. But my question is aimed at finance to begin with. You are going to need a general ledger for any company or government regardless of ERP. And how well you can drive the ledger to map your business is the key here.
The way ledger is built is around a business area ,company or country and is very tighly designed in SAP. I would like to know if there is any equivalent of the configuration items in ORACLE. I am more interested in terminology of ORACLE.
    For example ,
    <u><b><u><b>SAP ====> ORACLE</b></u>
    <u><b>GL ==> Book In ORACLE</b></u>
    <b><u>Document Number ===> Invoice Number</u></b>
<b><u>Posting Period in SAP ==> Posting period In ORACLE</b></u></u></b>
Most of the terms are finance terms , so they are common ( eg. an account number is an account number in ORACLE and SAP ) between two systems. I am interested in any specific thing that is available in ORACLE but not in SAP and  vice verse.
thanks for the link you have provided.
    Its very useful.

  • Functional differences between OBISE1 and OBIEE

    Hello,
beside the licensing restrictions, there are some funtional differences between OBISE1 and OBIEE. I have seen some very neat features in OBIEE which are not implemented in OBISE1, e. g. generating powerpoint or the assistants for bi publisher in word. The actual release of EE is 10.1.3.4.0 and it is 10.1.3.2.1 for SE1. Does anyone know, if SE1 will be upgraded to 10.1.3.4.0? And if yes, will Interactive Dashboards, Answers and BI Publisher in this relaese have the functional range of EE?
Thanks in advance for your answers.
    Thomas

    Balaa,
This question has been posted a number of times. Yes, Server, Answers, Dashboards and Publisher are functionally identical in BISE1 and BIEE. You can use BIEE 10.1.3.4.1 to upgrade your BISE1 10.1.3.2.1 (Oracle trust you not to use the stuff you are not licensed to use such as Delivers).
See my oracle support note document id 743916.1 on metalink3 ...
Oracle BI SE1: Patch to 10.1.3.4
Upgrading Oracle Business Intelligence Standard Edition One to higher versions of the underlying components
"Customers may upgrade to the latest 10.1.3.x versions of the BI components by running the BI Enterprise Edition 10.1.3.x Installer. They will be alerted that there is an installation already present and prompted to preserve the existing configuration. They should choose that option and the installer will leave the existing configuration (to include Repository, Web Catalog, etc) in tact and install the newer versions of the components. Note that when upgrading, all BI components must be upgraded to the same version. Customers may upgrade to the latest versions of Oracle Database 10g or Oracle Warehouse Builder 10g by applying the supported appropriate patches as needed. A note on platform support -- Oracle BI SE One is available for Windows platforms only. Oracle does not support Oracle BI SE One on other platforms. A note on licensing -- By license, customers are restricted to using BI Server, BI Answers, BI Dashboards, BI Publisher, BI Administration Tool, Oracle RDBMS, Oracle Warehouse Builder Core ETL functionality. Note that the BI SE One installation installs all of the BI components -- those listed above as well as Delivers, Office Plug-in, etc. If customers wish to use those additional components they are required to upgrade to a BI Enterprise Edition license."

  • Whats the functional difference between CUA and UME?

    Hi All,
A small query regarding UME (User Management Engine) and CUA ( Central User Administration). Whats the functional difference between these two. I read in help documents that UME will be used for SAP WebAS Java server. But I read that it can be used for ABAP engine as well. Then why do we need to use CUA when we have user friendly interface tool like UME. According to my knowledge from help documentation, UME comes pre installed. so we dont need to install it as we have to do for CUA.
Can any help me in understanding the difference between these two. Thanks in advance. Good day.
    Regards,
    Farooq.

    Hi,
    Indeed good question.
It depends on installation type you selected. But are responsible for user administration in terms of creating, deleting, updating and role assignment tasks to users and groups.
--CUA is meant for ABAP Installation. CUA is responsible for entire landscape user administration works with RFC connection talking to all ABAP systems
--UME is meant for Java installations, plus UME is responsible for handling communication between ABAP users and java users.

    Hello:
Based on the following link, I understand the difference between the Blackberry and Internet browser (http://www.blackberryforums.com.au/forums/blackberry-general-discussion/2815-difference-between-brow...
I was wondering if there are any functional difference between the two, i.e. HTML rendering, images being broken, etc. Under Browser -> Options -> Browser Configuration, If I configure both the Blackberry and Internet browser the same way, will a particular URL behave the same?
I'm in the process of testing our mobile applications on different devices and would appreciate if you could provide the difference, if any between the 2 browsers.

    Hey vishalt77,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
All BlackBerry smartphones will have Internet Browser for browsing the web.
However if you're on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server, you get the BlackBerry Browser which enables you to access internal websites and secured websites.

    Hi Forum,
As we are currently updgqrading to SAP ECC Version 6.0 from SAP Version 4.6, could someone please identify what are the new functionalities are being offred in SAP ECC 6.0.
Please let me know or guide me in a right direction - my email address is [email protected] or simply reply to the forum.
    Thank you

    Dear Yogesh,
Please go through Upgrade info @ service.sap.com.

Major difference is ECC6 is netwear product having WASJAVA+ABAP
secondly support unicode apart from this we have other diff. you can get fom master guide from service.sap.com/instguides
For installing ECC 6.0 you required a solution manager key. With out solutionmanager key you cannot install ECC6.0.
For ECC 6.0 is called netweaver component here you have ABAP+JAVA stack.
    ECC6.0 supports UNCODE.
For installing 4.6 you don't required solution manager key.It only having ABAP stack.
    4.6C supports NONUNICODE.
Hope this would add some more info.

    Naveen.

  • Make "esc" key function consistent between AI and PS.

In AI "esc" closes the current Symbol or Isolation mode editing session and retains all changes. In PS "esc" CANCELS the current Filter session WITHOUT saving changes. This is a horrible inconsistency between sister programs and should be standardized. Adobe, just make up your mind which it is and users will adjust. At least it will be consistent!

I logged onto the Adobe forums to point out this exact issue -- I'm so glad I'm not alone! I'm used to it in Illustrator, but it's really messing up my PS workflow; almost lost a lot of progress because I forgot ESC no longer cancels the text changes. I might have to go back to CS6 until there's a solution.
Begging you, Adobe team, please revert it or at the very least give us a preference option. The mockup above would be perfect!

  • Whats the functional difference between user IDs SAP* and DDIC?

Whats the functional difference between SAP* and DDIC? Can any one tell me please. I am new here. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Farooq,
There are three user IDs in various SAP clients.
    1. SAP* (Client 000 and 001)
SAP* denotes the default super user and has all administrative powers.
    2. DDIC (Client 000 and 001)
DDIC user is responsible for the maintenance of the ABAP/4 Dictionary and the software logistics.
    3. EarlyWatch (Client 066)
The EarlyWatch user has access only to monitoring and performance data.
Please check this link for more information on data dictionary objects.

What are the functional differences between the iPhone and the iPod Touch, barring of course the differences in service requirements.

For one, their form factors are slightly different as the iPhone has a bit more squarish body whereas the iPod Touch has a tapered back to it.
The iPhone also has much better front and rear cameras. Exact details as to the difference in megapixels depends on whether or not you talking about the iPhone 4 or 4S.  If you would like to get more details, you can always view
each models specs on Apple's online store.

  • Differences between procedures and functions.

a little confusing ..in differences between procedures and functions..
    1. Can a function return only single value?? cant we return multiple values?
    2. Can we use 'out' parameter and 'return' clause at a time in the same function
    thank you

    Hi,
    newbie wrote:
a little confusing ..in differences between procedures and functions..
    1. Can a function return only single value?? cant we return multiple values?Yes, a function can only return a single value.
If the return type is some kind of collection or data structure, then that 1 collection or data structure can, of course, actually contain many sep[arate values.
If you want to return multiple values, use a PROCEDURE with multiple OUT arguments.  (Functions can have OUT arguments, too, but avoid defining functions with OUT arguments.  It can cause a lot of confusion.)
    2. Can we use 'out' parameter and 'return' clause at a time in the same functionSure, but don't take my word for it.  Try it and see.

  • What is the difference between subroutine and function module?

What is the difference between subroutine and function module?

    Hi,
    they can both return values.
FMs are mainly used when a routine is to be performed by many programs.
Subroutines (forms) are generally only executed within one program.
You can perform routines from other programs, but it's not often done.
both forms and FMs are reusable modularization units.
To distinguish we generally say that forms are used for internal modularization and
FMs are used for external modularization.
To decide on which to implement, consider whether you need the content to be used just for a limited program
or wheteher it can be called from many independent programs.
For the first purpose it is better to implement a form whereas for the second we implement an FM.
However, ABAP does not isolate the usage context.
That is; you can call a form from another program within whose code the form is not actually implemented.
However, this requires attention since the form may utilize global variables.
The same issue holds for FMs.
FMs are encapsulated in function groups and function groups may have global variables that can be globally
used by all FMs inside it.
    Thanks,
