Key Lock

Hello!
Since I upgraded my 9700, I have a problem with the key lock. I've already read, that a lot others have issues with it as well, but my problem is not, that I don't find the icon anymore. I use Blackberries because of the security options and need the keylock with a password. It used to be very convenient to just press the lockbutton on top. When I do so now, it just locks the keypad without password...
Is there any possibility to change that without downgrading the OS?

Yep, set the password and it will enable the lock ICON on the screen of the device. Then click that icon to lock. Move and set it on your top row of icons so it is readily available.
I don't know, but maybe you can set a Side convenience key too? Options > Screen/Keyboard.

3. Have you installed any new hardware on this computer, before the issue appeared?
4. Have you installed any new software or drivers on this computer, before the issue appeared?
I would also like you to attempt the following test: Connect an external keyboard to the computer and see if the keys on that keyboard work. If the keys do not work, then we are absolutely certain there is a software/driver conflict. Otherwise, there is the potential of a hardware failure.

Whats wrong with auto lock and key lock sound?

I don't know why my iphone 4s become cant auto lock after i update to ios 6. This is so ****** me off. And other one is i dont know why my key lock sound is so loud suddenly (after updated to ios 6) . Even i set my ringer as the lowest one but it still the same. Hope Apple can fix it real soon. I've annoyed by them quite a long time. Thanks!

YES! I'm having the same problem as is my husband. It's making us NUTS! Has anyone heard why? We're also noticing that sometimes the keypad doesn't even show up when you open a text message window. And also, sometimes we can't answer calls..it won't let us slide the bar. Soooo irritating..

Control key locks

i have an hp g-71167dx notebook. my control key show as being locked and i have to turn off my computer to clear it. pc is only 6 months old. are there any solutions ?

There could be a couple of different causes/solutions for this issue. Here are some suggestions.
First try pressing both the Left and Right Ctrl keys down at the same time. See if that resolves the issue.
By default in Windows Ease of Access Center (Start > Type "ease" > Click Ease of Access Center > Click Make the keyboard easier to use > Click Set up Sticky Keys), Lock modifier keys when pressed twice in a row, is checked. Just uncheck that box and hopefully you won't run into that problem anymore. Modifier keys include Ctrl, Shift, and Alt.
You could also see if there is a BIOS update for your particular notebooks. I'll need both of your product numbers and whether you're using Windows 7 or Windows 8. Here are the steps to find your product number. Once I have your product number and version of Windows, I can provide you both with direct links to your latest BIOS driver.
To find the current BIOS version, follow the steps below (taken from here):
Windows 8 : From the Start screen, type msinfo32 . Click msinfo32 from the list of results.
Windows 7 and Vista : Click Start , enter msinfo32 in the search field, and then select msinfo32.exe from the list of results.
Windows XP : Click Start , select Run , enter msinfo32.exe in the Open field, and then click OK .
In the System Information window under the System Summary category, look for the BIOS Version/Date entry. This is your current BIOS version.

Write down the BIOS version and post it in your reply.

N97 mini key lock problem

I couldn´t find a topic related to my question,
so here´s my post:
I´ve got a little problem with my N97 mini
(type "RM-555" software-version: "11.0.102"):
The key lock button at the side of the phone
does not work properly in my eyes.
Sometimes - yes, it does not show up every
time you use it, only in about 50 % of usage -
when you use the button it works "back and
forth". That means, if you wanna lock the phone
it gets locked and then directly unlocked again,
although the button has only been used once.
Same thing sometimes the other way round:
The phone is locked, the button is used, the
phone unlocks and directely locks itself again.
It is not the worst bug I can imagine but after
a while it is quite annoying.
Does anyone have an idea what this is all
about? Do you think it is more likely some
hardware defect or rather more a software
bug?

Then if you want to try everthing before going to nokia, first try reset *#7370# , backup your data first. Still no success? Reflash with same firmware version via NSU. (back up your data in both cases)

You can't disable or re-assign the key lock button on your 9320, But you can on the "Convenience keys", the buttons on the left and right side of your device. Here's how: Assign an application to a convenience key.

I would like to batch delete duplicate tracks that are not in sequence.

Function Key Lock

To change the brightness on my T430, I need to press the FN key + F8/F9, is there any way to lock the FN key so that if I want to change brightness I just have to press F8/F9?

disclaimer: these steps work on my X220. your T430 BIOS screens should be largely similar if not identical.
- boot to your BIOS and select Keyboard/Mouse from the Config menu.
- toggle Fn Key Lock to Enabled.
- save and reboot.
in Windows now, you'll be able to press the Fn key, release, and press the desired Fx key. ie no need for Fn+Fx key combo'ing. by pressing Fn twice it locks the effect for the current Windows session. now, pressing the Fx key does not require any Fn key-press. it just executes the function.
note, though that the Fn key double-press lock effect doesn't survive a system reboot. I haven't tested whether it survives system standby or hibernation.

Stuck number key lock (main screen)

In iTunes, locate the name of your iPhone under DEVICES. This opens a "Summary" tab; scroll down until you see a header called "Options." Click on Configure Universal Access. Then deselect Zoom.

N97 Key Lock Application

I didnot get the Key Lock application preinstalled with the phone while the other N97 in my country have been bundled with this application. Can anyone post the link or upload this application.

Full key lock ?

Hello. Does enybody please know, how to do a full key lock on the Curve?
I mean not a keylock as if you press the upper keylock buttton. Doing this, after pressing a key always appears a message, that the keys are locked and you have to unlock them. This consumes a lot of battery through random key presses if the handheld is in a pocket etc. I would like to perform such a keyloch like if the handheld is in the original holster. Hope, it is possible without the holster.

Hi Rob, Regarding you answer to keylock BB 8900 pad. I agree the stand by is a better option to use. However, when I receive any call, whether its through the BB or a handfree device, I noticed that the keypad is active and out of standby/keylock mode.
Basically, I ask can use the standby mode, answer a call and end the call without the standby mode been interrupted.
Reason being, as I drive the phone is always in pocket, when answering calls on handfree device, the BB jumps from any lock mode and the key pad becomes active, making the green phone button, prone to being hit and dialing a contact.
If this is not possible, is there a way to set the BB, so if a key is not pressed for 5-10 secs that is automatically switches to standby / keypad locked

I've seen this in "demo' units of the iphone. For obvious reasons, demo units don't have those settings so people playing with them in stores can't screw with those settings. I'd bet money you got an iphone with demo software on it...it happens from time to time, although the units are clearly labeled as such. You have two choices to fix this: 1. Take it back to where you got it & exchange for a non-demo unit(recommended), 2. Restore the phone as a "new" device(not from backup) & then re-sync your itunes content.

Nokia 5310 - key lock problem

I really like this phone but the only problem Im having is when Ive locked the keys (Menu + * key) Im sometimes finding it very slow to unlock as the screen seems to freeze. I have to repeatedly press the central menu key hard until the screen sparks back to life, then i can unlock the keypad again. Im sure this cant be right. Anyone else noticed this?

I am having the same problem. I want to eliminate the my 5310 Nokia from automatically locking the keys every 45 seconds, it really sucks having to press the unlock. I can't find the solution in the owners manual, so I am trying to
find the answer to remove the key lock. I cannot use a phone if all it does is puts on a keylock automatically.
Can you help me if you find the answer to remove the automatic keylock? I want to eliminte this.

E6 Key Lock Strange Behavior

My E6-00 is running Belle. The key lock switch displays very strange behavior. When I slide it to lock the phone, there will be two or three vibrations and the phone will momentarily lock and then unlock again. I have to slide it three or four times to actually get it to lock and stay locked. Behavior when unlocking is identical - sliding the switch will make the phone vibrate two or three times, and the phone will unlock for a split second before re-locking itself. I have to slide the switch three or four times to actually unlock it.
The flashlight works fine. It seems like the switch engages once when it is pushed, and then somehow engages again at the top of its movement.
This is incredibly annoying. Is it a known problem? A software defect? Hardware? Or something else?

I dont have that problem.

Otherwise a hard reset (wipe the c and d comparment and sdhc card, After that, a reinstallment of Belle through Nokia Suite.
Dont reinstall backups of apps and a lots of old material...only contacts and the most important I think could be the solution. This goes for many people who having problem after Belle update. I call it spring cleaning.
