What is a good program for a Mac Book Pro for keyboard tracking for passwords and web sites?
As I suspected, my computer is going to sites that shouldn't be visited, and of course the response is, "What? I didn't go there, honest I didn't." Teenagers...typical.

Simple Tracking program

Hi
I am still learning the techniques of java and would like some help if possible. I am trying to create a simple tracking program which tracks what letter has been typed. For example if an A was pressed then the A label would turn blue. Then if another key was pressed then it would return to its default state white. I have created all the various labels for each letter and now have to do the programming of the tracking.I want it in the end to work out that when each letter key is typed on the keyboard then their various label would turn blue. If any of you have any hints or tutorials that would help me with it, I would be thankful.

a) is this Swing or AWT (there are separate forums for each, instead of using the general programming forum)
b) what kind of component has focus. A text field a panel?
In general, you would probably use a KeyListener or a DocumentListener. Read the [Swing Tutorial|http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/TOC.html] for examples of both.

Asset tracking program

Hi all
there is a program that im not sure how to go about doing, that wants to create an asset t-racking program that will track 4 types of assets: electronics, automobiles, furniture and cd's. Which classes would you use to design this program? would you define four unrelated classes or one superclass and four subclasses? if you design a superclass, will it be an abstract superclass?
Implement the asset tracking program. allow the user to add, modify and delete electronic appliances, auto's, furniture and cd's. allow the user to list the assets by category and search for an asset by its serial number...
I was thinking of utilizing an arraylists in this program. Any suggestions on how to approach this problem would be great thanks :/

I'd start with a pencil and a blank sheet of paper. An abstract Asset class and concrete child classes seem to be a good place to start. What information is common to all your assets? For example, asset number, asset description, purchase date, purchase price, accumulated depreciation, current location.
What information is unique to the child classes? Serial numbers on automobiles and electronic gear? Automobiles have lots of identification numbers: engine numbers, VINs, registration, insurance. CDs have a title and artist(s) with tracks. Furniture is different again, type (desk, chair, etc), colour, finish.
You need another class with collections of assets, perhaps AssetRegister. This is the class you put methods in to list and search assets.

Thanks, Ian. Yeah, that's how I do it now...or with the controls in the left side pane. Still, I would have liked that quick on-the-spot edit capability...especially while sketching.

Any Patient Tracking Program out there?

Does anyone know if there is any simple patient tracking program out there?
Functions that will be needed is patients demographic information, name ,age, sex, number of times they visited, patient number visits in a single day, as well as a way to bill them and invoice upon visit.

If there is nothing specific you can research FileMaker Pro for any ready made forms they might have that would be similar in nature to what you want.

I record a midi keyboard track and it sounds fine as Im recording it, however, it won't play back in time no matter what I do, seems awfully useless to have all these "great software instruments" and not even be able to use them, one problem after another

I record a midi keyboard track along with a song, it sounds great, then, when i go to mix, playback, the midi track is behind the beat and out of sync.. i've tried every setting I can think of.. the strangest thing is that I've used this exact keyboard in the past with this exact computer, running the same version of logic pro, and it worked fine, now it just doesn't work.. it seems an awful waste to have all these "great software instruments" but they are essentially useless now... it is beyond frustrating to have this so-called "great technology" that doesn't even work and to spend more time TRYING to get it to work than actually doing some work with it...

After re-reading the first post, I don't think it would be quantize, either, sorry about that.
There are a couple more places to look:
Look at the highlights, one is for track, one is for region. Notice how I have it on MIDI thru (top part). That has a delay value. When you select a region, you can have a different value there, as well. Also, the Track part has a place with a delay value. These are three delay values that are in addition to the audio preference Recording delay.

Same issue here both with my iphone 5S as well as my iPad2. THe sync to my macbook air does not complete and it shows a large overcapacity level when connected, but once I disconnect there is plenty of room (4 GB) available, not a 20 GB overage.

Freezing keyboard, track pad

does anybody know how to fix freezing keyboard, track pad
it only happens when I dont have the mouse pluged in
when it freezes I have to close the macbook to put it to sleep to fix it
or hit the power button then from the menu select cancel and that fixes it as well
or plug in the mouse nd that fixes it also
I have tried hardware test (long and short tests) found nothing wrong
I have tried reseting the power managment unit
I have tried archive and instal
I even tried turning off the sudden motion sensor
I always download updates from apple
can anyone help it's very annoying.

Anyone know how to reach James Tarpley, creator of the Mac shareware program Medical eXpress Tracking? Recommendations for Help Desk (issue tracking) program for Mac OS

Hello all
Any recommendations for a help desk software to be mainly used for issue tracking/ticket management applications for Mac OS?
I prefer for the app to run local on the Mac so no web or server software.

I also use CS5 (Design Suite) on a Mac. When I upgraded to Lion, Illustrator did not crash for me, but it (and Photoshop) was acting squirrelly and some of the features did not work at all. After six weeks, I reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled Snow Leopard. Now everything works perfectly.
The other thing I did was to partition my hard drive so that I can reinstall Lion on the new partition. That way, I can run either operating system and run application programs on the OS that is most appropriate for it. I have no problems moving files between the partitions.
Not the most attractive solution, but I am very satisfied. Just my two cents...!

Why did I get a msg from FF about the spotlight app that detects tracking when it it already installed?
I can't seem to find it in the applications.

Dish Stirling sun Tracking program

Hello , i am a Labview beginner. In a previous Work a program for sun Tracking was written. This program could not be tested because of a short ciciut in one of the TMCM 1110. My Task is to get the program run. But after one Week of trying i just can control the motors with labview and this program i found in the internet. I have no idea how i should do this. Actually the program should work but it doesnt. The Bachelor thesis in which the program is described is in the appendix and the program too, Please help me i have really no idea. maybe you find the mistake in the program or maybe you have an idea for a new program to get get the Dish-Stirling-Sun tracker to run.

the bockdiagram is not programmed based on the NI style guide. Therefore nobody will be able to debug the program.

These would be my recommendation for you as a beginner. After getting the basics, you will be able to get the program running.
Without Hardware i believe, you are the only person who can find the issue.

I don't know where this topic belongs, so I'll start here. Is there a program that will test my internet download speed every hour on the hour and track it in a database to give to my ISP to prove that we are not getting the speed that we paid for? Is there a program?

Hi, in regards to "up to" speed claims. This is the free market so you are absolutely entitled to know what you're buying. (Your common sense is not steering you wrong). I don't know what choices you have in your area, but I'm lucky to have two cable-based ISPs (DSL is not viable in my area).
I also have been concerned with uncertain speeds--and suddenly space-cadet service reps--and called Comcast (the other provider). Of course I want to know what I'll actually see before I make a decision to switch. I clearly asked the service rep and he clearly explained what I would be expected to see in relation to the service levels (12 down/2 up in my case). After all, if you typically will see 70% of "5 down, 1 up", that's fine IF YOU KNOW IN ADVANCE and most people I suspect this usually to be 95%+ during normal use hours. The network providers know exactly what's going on at every head end every minute, and can tune accordingly for minimum service level, so any attitude that "whatever will be will be" should not be accepted.

App for tracking program/web usage?

I'm searching for an application that allows you to track exactly what program you are working on at what time.
For example:
Photoshop 9:00-10:38
Facebook 10:38-11:02
Photoshop 11:02-11:49
Finder 11:49-... you get the point
I found one program that looks perfect for this. It's called Chrometa. And it costs $20 per MONTH. The second best thing I found is called Slife but it too has a monthly fee. I don't mind paying a one-time fee <$30.
I would like this program so that I know exactly how much work to bill my clients for and to see how much time I really waste watching funny cat videos... not that I do that regularly. I am open to alternate ideas as well.
