Keynote freezes when pasting text

Keynote freezes every time I try to paste text into a text box, whether I use Command V, Edit>Paste, Edit>Paste-and-Match-Style.
This happens whether I am copying normal text from Word or from an identical text box on the same slide.
I've filed about a dozen bug reports in case someone at Apple actually reads them, but I'm getting pretty frustrated.
Has anyone else had this problem?
I'm using 4.0.3 on OSX 10.5.5 on a Mac Book Air.

Outlook 2010 freezes when pasting text from email into filename

I use Microsoft Outlook 2010 (32-bit version), in a 64-bit computer (Dell laptop) using Windows 7 Enterprise, SP1. (I work in a company and can't change what version of the Outlook program I am using.) If I copy text out of an Outlook email,

to the change to Windows 7. Does anyone know what is causing the problem? Is there some setting I need to change in Outlook? (Maybe I had the Outlook setting correct in the old installation of Outlook, but the new Outlook installation wiped
out my prior settings, and the new default setting recently installed is creating the problem?)

First please make sure your Office is up-to-date.
I suspect this may be related to some 3rd-party add-ins or the security software, first please run Outlook in Safe Mode to determine if 3rd-party add-ins are related:
Press Win + R and type “outlook.exe /safe” in the blank box, then press Enter.
If there’s no problem copying and pasting in Safe Mode, disable the suspicious add-ins to verify which add-ins caused this issue.
Please also disable the anti-virus program temporarily to check if this makes a difference.

Acrobat PDF Printer STILL freezes when pasting filename into Save dialog

No change in Acrobat X. Printing system still freezes up entirely when pasting a filename into the Save dialog, when printing to Adobe PDF printer. Most often from Firefix (all versions through 28.0) but from other programs as well (also happens from MS Outlook 2010 32 bit).
Any chance of an update from Adobe?
Acrobat Pro X on Win 7 64 bit. Multiple systems exhibit same behavior.
Same issue occurs in Acrobat XI Standard.
Workaround is possible by manually typing in filename, or renaming, but clearly this should not be happening. If you forget, it requires a lot of steps (or a reboot) to try again.

If you copy text directly from FireFox (or Word, or pretty much any program, other than Notepad), and try to paste into the Save Dialog to save your PDF, guaranteed crash.
HOWEVER, if you paste the text into Notepad first, and then copy it again, you can then paste into the Save dialog no problem. This is why the "test" that the Adobe rep did to recreate the problem was pointless: He managed to re-create the one workaround method that DOES work, instead of actually trying to do things the way that were causing the issue to show up.
The problem appears to be related to any sort of "rich" text. Windows ignores the "rich" information and only keeps the text if you paste into a filename in the system. So Windows handles it just fine, it's Adobe's save dialog that can't handle it. Copied text from Firefox is usually pretty clean (IE is worse), but there must be some formatting remnants in there that are giving Adobe fits (instead of properly ignoring them). It may have something to do with 64-bit Windows and 32-bit Firefox and 64-bit Acrobat all coming together? Copying and pasting between 64-bit and 32-bit programs usually has no issues, but in this case, it does (although the 64/32 bit relation is pure speculation on my end).
But by "washing" your text through Notepad first, it completely strips it down to truly pure plain text, which can then be pasted into Adobe's Save dialog without a crash. This adds an extra step, and should be entirely unnecessary, but it does work. At least until Adobe fixes their program.

Program freezes when adding text to clip

Hi,
I have sent a 40 minute slideshow to PE7. I am splitting the slide show at various points and inserting short video clips. After having added text to both photos and video two or three times, I now find that the program freezes when I either try to add further text or even if I try to edit previously inserted text.
Has anyone a solution to this please?

P.S. the reason I am adding video to the slide show and not the other way around is that I like the pan and zoom facility of the slide show which is not available as a transition in PE7.
Apparently I cannot add video clips to slide shows in PSE 7 - or at least not more than 5 seconds of video at a time.

The photos are between 1 to 3 MB each if thats any help, My Sony Handycam was set to 16:9 format but I can't select this in Project preferences which seems fixed at 4:3. The point is that I have used photos of this size in a project containing both photos and video previously without problems. I have not tried to splice video footage into an imported slide show before.
I will investigate further later.

How to prevent Dreamweaver CC from adding bogus page header when pasting text

It seems like suddenly with the CC version of Dreamweaver, when you copy-paste content from MS Word, Dreamweaver adds a new bogus page header, like this:

Can this behavior be suppressed? I have the same copy/paste settings that I used in CS5- Text and structure with basic formatting. I don't see why this needs to happen.
I am using Dreamweaver CC on Mac.

You're injecting junk formatting code from MS Word into your HTML. The best way to avoid this is to use Edit > Paste Special > Text only. Or copy & paste your MS Word content into a plain text editor (Text Wrangler) before you paste it into DW.

Extra text showing when paste text

In the past day I have run into a problem whenever I copy and paste any text inside Illustartor CS6. If I copy text from outside Illustator and paste in a file, everything is ok. But if I copy text from inside an AI file and paste into another AI file or to the same file, I get a bunch of extra text that gets displayed before the pasted text. In the example below I copied and pasted the text "This is a test" within the same AI file, and got the a bunch of information above the text.
Has anyone ever seen this before? how do I fix it.

I clear my clipboard almost all the time.. If I have copied anything large, as soon as I am done pasting the item, I almost immediately will go and copy something small.
Now if I create a new document, I am able to copy and paste anything in there and it works fine. The minute I go back to the files that I was having problems with and try and copy anything from there and paste into the same document, or a new document it shows the same "slug" text again. Even if I copy over an object or image. I am assuming that this means there is something corrupt in that file, since it does not seem to happen in any other document? I still can't figure out where it is getting that information or why after I clear the clipboard or even restart the computer (have even tried completely turning off the computer).

Keynote freezes when right click on mouse. why?

When using keynote, numbers, etc. and I right click my mouse to get the secondary menu, the spinning beach ball appears and the app freezes and requires a Forced Shut Down. How can this be fixed?

If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Enter "BOOT_TIME" (without the quotes) in the search box. Note the timestamps of those log messages, which refer to the times when the system was booted. Now clear the search box and scroll back in the log to the last boot time after you had the problem. Select the messages logged before the boot, while the system was unresponsive or was failing to shut down. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V). Please include the BOOT_TIME message at the end of the log extract.
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

Still in Console, look under System Diagnostic Reports for crash or panic logs, and post the entire contents of the most recent one, if any. In the interest of privacy, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if present (it may not be.) Please don’t post shutdownStall, spin, or hang logs — they're very long and not helpful.

Double spacing issue when pasting text from Pages

I have a Pages document with text that frequently paste into a message that is generated by the Dropbox iOS app when I choose the e-mail option within Dropbox iOS app.
I'm trying to figure out why when I paste the Pages text above the defaut Dropbox message the spacing between paragraphs is fine, but when I paste it below the default text generated by the Dropbox iOS app when e-mailing a link to a file, the spaces between paragraphs is doubled.
It seem to be some phantom formatting in my Page document beause I tested by pasting a long e-mail below the Dropbox text and it's still single spaced. For some reason my Pages text goes from single spaced to double spaced when I paste it below that default message that Dropbox iOS generates when you attempt to e-mail a file link.

The Pages document was created in Pages for OSX, but stored in iCloud. I usually e-mail links using the Dropbox iOS app and copy text from Pages iOS and want to paste into the e-mail created by Dropbox iOS. When I paste the text below the Dropbox link, the paragraphs are double spaced.

FrameMaker freezes when selecting text on Windows Vista

FrameMaker freezes on Windows Vista (forcing me to kill the process). The problem occurs both on FrameMaker 7.1 and FrameMaker 8. It seems to occur when I'm selecting text though I can't seem to create a scenario that reliably duplicates the problem. I'm running on a Fujitsu lifebook with 4 GB of memory.
I saw an earlier post in the archive but there didn't seem to be a resolution. Has anyone been able to solve this problem?

My Droid 2 freezes when im Texting

Hello my droid 2 freezes up only when I am texting I need help?

THIS ISSUE IS ALL OVER THIS BOARD. THIS IS MY RESPONSE TO SAME QUESTION FROM ANOTHER PERSON:
The locking up while typing text or emails and throwing you out to the internet or wherever was caused by the software update in Sept 2011. My phone was perfectly fine until this update - absolutely NO problems. I have had this issue on 3 phones since then (VERIZON would send me new phones because they thought it was a phone problem) - IT IS NOT THE PHONE! They replace it and it happens in another 4-6 weeks. "Clearing the Cache" / clearing data works for awhile then you have to clear it again or do another "fix". This is not a $9.99 phone - I should not have to clear anything but maybe my emails every 4-6 weeks and this was not a problem till they forced the software update on us! I asked both Verizon and Motorola to restore my phone to the previous software and they refused to do this.
I honestly cannot believe that if Verizon has been having this problem since Sept that they are still giving answers like the one from AnthonyTA ! They did a factory reset on my 2nd droid 2 and all it did was cause me work to reinstall eveything. The problems came back 6 wks later. They have records of all the times I have called (phone has had this problem about once a month since Sept) and the fixes they have tried - doesn't anyone look into this stuff?!
(I am not using any third party messaging or keyboard applications on my device as AnthonyTA mentioned - it is pretty much as they sold it to me.)
I was only able to text if I didn't leave a space between my words - IJustCapitalizedTheFirstLetterOfEachWord - but if I accidentally hit the space bar I was screwed - it would lock up! This has happened so many times since Sept that my family and friends now know when my phone is messing up again by my texts - time to call Verizon!!!
My recommendation - keep a record of all your calls with Verizon - dates, times, length of phone call, who you talked to, etc. Do NOT leave them alone till your phone is working correctly...do not settle. I used to LOVE my phone - now I just hate Motorola! Verizon should be pushing Motorola to fix this!!! Motorola was NO help after over an hour and a half on the phone (with numerous people from the Philippines & FLA). They said they had no issues with the Droid 2! Huh? Do they read the internet or communicate with Verizon?!?! Good luck!

InDesign freezes when resizing text frames

I've placed a Word document with lots of tables and other graphics, and when I try to resize a text frame, InDesign frequently freezes. I have to shut it down in Task Manager and restart, often losing a lot of work. This happened once before with a similar project from the same client. I thought maybe it was some odd corruption in that file, so I muscled through it, but here it is happening again. Anybody have this issue before and know how to resolve or prevent it?
I'm working with CS6 in Windows 8.

First of all, ID CS6 has a auto-recovery feature, so when closing it in the task manager you should not loose a lot of work, but the one since the last auto-save.
However, software is not prefect, so the one way to prevent it would be to place a PDF version of your Word file, making it uneditable.

Photoshop CS4 freezes when adding text to box.

Typing text into a rectangle box freezes Photoshop with the unclose-able error box "Could not complete your request because of a program error"
Force quit and clean-start with command-option-shift Start Photoshop and still same error. I can type text into the box for about 10-20 characters and then error box again.
Using PS CS4 v11.0 with OS 10.5.6 with G5 Dual 2 Ghz PowerPC accessing files on external firewire drive.
Any suggestions?

Corrupted font cache(s).
Cleaned out and dumped all caches with Cocktail and restarted clean. A-OK now.

Using Photoshop CC 2014,When I try to place text in my document, the program fails to respond. I have to terminate the program to clear it.

PSE freezes when adding text - help

I have a MAC and have installed PSE 11 successfully. I'm working on a birthday project and everytime I try to add text, the whole thing freezes. I force shut down as it's the only thing to get me out of it, and reboot, and it does it again, and again and again. Please help. Thanks.

Indesign CS4 freezes when copying text to Word 2007

I have a user that copies text from Indesign CS4 to Word 2007 documents. She has Word 2007 open, then opens an InDesign file and copies the text. She then clicks on the Word document and pastes the copied text.
She is unable to go back to the Indesign file. Clicking on InDesign on the toolbar does not activate the InDesign window. The only open she has is to right-click and close InDesign.
She has been doing this without any problems until approximately three weeks ago.
Is this a known problem? What is causing the conflict?

The OS is XP SP3. We are using Adobe Type Manager with Adobe fonts. The only other application running was Outlook 2007.
The user is out today but I will check if Alt Tab will cycle back.
