Keynote soundtrack skips

Help! I have made a Keynote slide show and added music from my iTunes, but when I plat the slide show there are skips in the music. This has never happened before, but I am using a new computer.

Here are a few things you can do to troubleshoot the problem:
- Have you tried re-recording the entire song playlist? This would be the first thing to try.
- If it still skips, does it play OK in the Editing mode (not in Presentation mode)? If so, there may be a problem with the way you Recorded the Soundtrack.
- Try recording just "Beautiful Day" as a Soundtrack and see if it still skips. If so, then this track itself may have some "glitches" and need to be replaced with a new copy.
- What is the processor speed of your playback computer? With some presentations the audio will skip on slower machines, but not faster ones. (e.g. Some audio tracks will skip on my G5 desktop but not on my MacBook Pro.)
Good luck

  • Soundtrack Skips in Keynote - Help Needed

I am running a soundtrack with a four song playlist with a longish (75 slides) Keynote presentations. Only the second song (Beautiful Day by U2) causes some of the slides in that section to pause in certain places and the song skips. The rest of the songs run fine. Any ideas on what I can do to get all the songs in the soundtrack to run smoothly? Thanks much.

  • Unable to Stop the Music in Keynote '09

    MacBook Pro 10.6.3
    Keynote 5.0.3
Previously I have been able to "ttach" a sound to a frame - and have it QUIT playing after I went to the next frae.
    Now it keeps playing.
How do I stop it after just one frame?

Make sure that it did not end up being added as a the Keynote Soundtrack +(Documents>Audio Tab)+. If it is the soundtrack, it will play throughout the Keynote, if it is just added to a slide, it should stop when you change slides.

  • How do I add music to a slideshow of pics?

I have just made a slideshow of pics in Keynote (with some text of the pics), and I am wanting to add some music that I have in iTunes to play in the background while the pictures are on automatic transition.
I have tried dragging the song into Keynote, but that just adds a blank slide that will only play the music while the slide is showing, and the cuts the song off as soon as I transition to the next slide.
Any suggestions on how to make the music keep playing throughout the entire slideshow?
    Thanks!

Add the song as the Keynote soundtrack in the Inspector>Documents Tab under Audio.

  • Is there a way to set default build-in for a presentation?

There seems a major regression in the most recent Keynote. I used to be able to edit the master slides I use to add build-in animations, so that all my slides would build in in the same way. But when I try to do that now, it says "animations aren't available on master slides".
    Can this be done?

I'm not going to lie. At first I was extremely disappointed that they removed transitions from master slides. I used it all the time.
After fiddling with it for a while, I think I'll be fine . I still use the master page for layout and formatting, but I then just create some template-like slides with the transitions based off the masters. You can then create a new slide by duplicating a template and customizing it. Once you're done, you can tell Keynote to "skip" the template slides so they don't show up in your presentation.
Here's the nice thing I've found. After you've customized a lot of slides based off of a master, then change the master, it doesn't change your transitions. I used to have to go in and fix a ton of transitions after updating the master slide.
Hopefully this is a decent alternative for Keynote master slides with transitions.

  • Unable to stop the alarm in Nokia 5233

    Hi ,
I am using Nokia 5233 for past 3 months. I am facing a problem while using the Alarm.
When the alarm generated, i am unable to stop it. When i pressed the close button its going into SNOOZE mode but not into stop mode.
This is happening when my mobiles is locked.
Is there anyway to stop the alarm, eventhough the mobile is locked.
    Thanks,
    Srikanth.

  • Can't send text message only iMessage

After current OS update to 10.9.5 iMessage appears to function differently.
Previously one had the option to "send as text message" if the recipient was not registered in iMessage.
I cannot find this option any longer.
    Please advise.

    Hello mikemikegottabike,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
On Monday, October 20th, Apple is releasing iOS 8.1, in which will introduce the abilty to relay SMS from your iPhone running iOS 8.1 to your Mac running OS 10.10.  Apple discussed 8.1 during the keynote presentation held on October 16th.  Click on the link below to see the keynote, and skip to 17:00 where the discussion on iOS 8.1 begins.

  • Reason for inconsistent importing

I am hoping someone can offer an explanation for why iMove '08 might import one of five events in a different way than it does four others, when an identical procedure was followed in each case.
MY GOAL: Transfer five music videos, created in Final Cut Pro and archived on digital tape, to my iPhone.
MY METHOD: When the Import window of iMovie opened, I selected 'Manual', started the camera, clicked 'Import' at the start of a music video then 'Stop' at the end of that video. iMovie created an event with one clip containing multiple thumbnails all tightly connected. By selecting the first and last thumbnails, I was able to select the entire clip and drop it in the project pane, where it again appeared as a single long clip that played back flawlessly. I repeated this for the four other videos.
THE PROBLEM: The last music video appeared in the Events pane as multiple unconnected clips in random sequence. I dragged the clips individually into the Project pane, putting them in sequence as I went. When played back, though, the soundtrack skips as the playhead jumps from one clip to the next.
QUESTION: What information could iMovie be getting off the digital tape, that makes the capture of the fifth video so different? Can anyone suggest a work-around. The problem video was captured from the same digital tape as two of the other videos that worked fine.
    Thanks very much,
    Dave D.

I don't know for sure so this is a guess that may lead you in the right direction.
If you create a movie from a timeline in DV stream and write out to tape, it may preserve the metadata of the individual clips that make up the timeline. These may be in a different order than the date they were filmed. When imported into iMovie, they would be in the order they were filmed based on the underlying metadata.
Now it seems to me that if some if your videos were rendered to a .dv file or to a .mov file as an intermediate step, and then written out to tape later, then the file on tape would have the metadata of the date it was rendered, and might be in long clips.

  • Play iTunes soundtrack under Keynote with Applescript

OK, so this isn't a question, more of a solution to a question I was struggling with: how to play multiple songs in the background of a Keynote presentation. What's more, I needed that soundtrack to fade out for certain important slides that had their own audio, but then fade back in (without starting over) when that slide was done.
I'm creating a standalone presentatoin that will run unattended, looped, during an event. It must be completely automated. It's mostly text slides, which is why I wanted general music underneath. But there are also some slides with videos of their own. I wanted a way to drop the soundtrack at the right time, and then restore the soundtrack afterward.
My solution is to set up my playlist in iTunes, play it, then run an applescript, and then start the slideshow. The script first sets the iTunes volume to whatever "MAX" volume is in the script. You can edit this to be a MAX volume of 10, 40, 100, etc. The script constantly monitors the slideshow, and when the slideshow gets to any slide with the command "itunesdown" anyhwere in the text of the presenter notes, it triggers an incremental drop of iTunes' volume by 10 units every .1 second until the volume is zero. If you want a slower fade, look for all of the delay values of .1 and make them .2, .3, whatever. It also keeps a lookout for any slide with the text "itunesup" and does exactly the reverse, raising the volume incrementally up to the MAX value.
I have not explored the possibility of also having the script monitor other text variables to perhaps trigger different playlists. I think that's possible, but for someone else to work out.
I'm sure there's a more elegant way to code this; I have certain lines of code literally repeated ten times to cover the full range of volume from 0 to 100 and back. I know there's a counter function that could do that in less space. But, again, I'll leave that to y'all.
    Hope this helps someone!

  • Exporting movie from keynote 6.2 - soundtrack and frames not per original presentation

    Aloha!
I just created a Keynote 6.2 presentation (on a MBP with OS 10.9.4), with recorded soundtrack, with the frames timed per that soundtrack.  When I export it as a QT movie, there are few options to select (Format and timings for next slide/next build - which latter two shouldn't apply, since the timings are built into the presentation - right?)  File comes out as an ~.m4v file type and the frame timings and the soundtrack are all way off from the original.
My questions are: i) what am I doing wrong in exporting this as a movie (I want to upload it to YouTube eventually), and ii) is this a common issue transferring from Keynote 6.2 to QT?  How to bring the text/images, frame and sound timings back into sync per the original??
I appreciate any and all help with this.  The frustration level is starting to build!!
    George in TN

Slideshow recording option in QT export will not be available until you create a slideshow recording.
To create a Slide Show recording:
Select the first slide in the Navigator pane.
From the menu:   Play > Record Slideshow The recording mode shows you the current time, current slide, and next slide. To change the layout and see your presenter notes, a timer, and more, click the options button:     top right of screen  then select options you want.
To start recording your presentation, click at the bottom of the window. The timer counts down from 3 before recording begins.
To advance to the next slide, press the Right Arrow key. You can pause the recording at any time by clicking the Pause button.
    Click to resume recording.
    Click to stop the recording.
Press the Escape (Esc) key to save the recording and exit the presentation.

  • Combine movie and soundtrack exported from Keynote

    Hi!
I have made a presentation in Keynote '09 and have added some audio as a soundtrack to it (playing throughout the presentation). When exporting to the Quicktime movie, I get two files, presentation.mov and presentation_soundtrack.mov (the option to export the soundtrack is of course selected in the export options window). When opening the presentation.mov in Quicktime player, the audio plays fine. However, I would like the movie and audio file to be combined in the same file. How to do this?
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Hi,
Since I am trying to do a number of things with Keynote, I read these discussions looking for opportunities and pitfalls.
I read your message, and saw your outcome as an issue. Since I've yet to add the soundtrack to my current project, I needed to know more about the outcome before I proceeded, in order to adjust accordingly.
I took my project, and added a song as the soundtrack. I played the slideshow, and the soundtrack played along, across the slides as it should. I then began to record the slideshow, but the soundtrack came playing through the speakers and was being picked up by the microphones, so I offed the speakers, donned my headphones, and re-began the recording. The soundtrack was playing (in the headphones), and I was narrating across many slides.
I played the recorded slideshow, and all was present - soundtrack and recorded narration.
I exported to Quicktime, sending the output to a new folder so that it could easily be found, along with anything else that might be generated. Upon completion, there was only one movie file in the folder. I opened and played it in Quicktime. It was perfect - slides looked good, narration was there, and the soundtrack was playing in the background.
This outcome appears to be your objective, so I'm not sure what I did differently than you, but from this experience, it works as should be expected.
    Good luck.

  • Keynote Streaming problems - skips bad

Hi, I want to watch the Expo Keynote streaming, but it is not working well. When I play the video in QT it skips and pauses all the time. really bad. Are there special preferences(enabling on?) that will help this problem? Have QT 7.04. I can stream MLB games live no problem, but always have problems with apple streams of Keynote. There must be a fix. Can I watch it on another app?
    Thanks
    M

Matthew, the problem is that your video card can't handle the video. I have a G3 700MHz iMac and the HD videos are unaccessible. Note that you should be able to view the Apple Expo 2004 event which was not formatted in HD. It's just time to upgrade if you want to watch the ever-increasingly data-intensive videos.
