Keypad not working for email

I have an original iPad. Have had no problem till recently.  When I'm using email.  The keypad pops up and I press the keys but nothing comes up.  I can switch locations - to:, subject, and body copy but nothing will type in any area...  The keypad works fine when I'm using t Internet or using note apps etc. Any ideas....

Since the Mail program is the only App with the problem, it may help to remove it from the recent Apps list.  Some recent Apps such as Mail, may continue to run in the background.  Removing such an App from the list will stop it from running.
Double click the Home button, and a row of recent Apps will line up along the bottom of the screen.  Scroll across and find the Mail App.  Press and hold on it until the Apps start to wiggle.  A red minus sign will appear on each.  Touch the minus sign of the Mail App, and it will be removed from the list.
If there is no improvement the next time you open the Mail App, try rebooting the iPad.  Hold both the Home and Sleep buttons for several seconds until the Apple logo appears.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" arrow.  Rebooting will not hurt anything, and sometimes clears up mysterious problems.

    We can help you resolve your ringtone concerns. We do need some more details about your issue. What difficulty are you having in assigning the ringtone? Does it give you an error when you try to pick the ringtone, or does it allow you to assign it but when the phone rings doesn't work? 
    What have you tried? Have you pulled out the battery? Have you tried another ringtone? Are these stock ringtones or are they downloaded? 
    Please reply with some more details, and I'm sure we'll get you on a path to resolution. 

  • Z10 auto suggest not working for email addresses

    My Z10 will suggest contacts from my address book. However!!-- it won't auto suggest not in contacts. On my previous BB's, I could start typing, and it would begin to suggest addresses I'd written to/received mail from before. I hope I'm not confusing so here's an example. I only recall the first letters of an old friend's email but not the rest. Or I received a mail from a company, want to contact again, and can't find the email. Why won't my device do this? I don't and never have added everything to contacts. Have latest update . Thx for any help.

    That is correct. The BlackBerry Z10 will only suggest the most frequently used contacts. If the email address is not in your contacts list, it will not appear as a suggestion.

  • Incoming Email not working for one web app, but IS working for others in same farm.

    I have enabled incoming email in a large multi-web application farm running SharePoint 2013 SP1 and the Feb 2015/March 2015 CUs that were pushed down in Windows Updates.  It works just fine for two web applications, but it will not work for one particular
    web application. I see the email land in the /drop folder. If I remove the email address from the library in http://nonworkingapp web
    application and use it on a library in a http://working web application, then the email is processed successfully. Conversely,
    if I take an address from a library in http://working and move it to a library inhttp://nonworkingapp it
    does not work. I've tried multiple site collections on http://nonworkingapp. This rules out any SMTP issues, etc. and means
    the issue is bound to this web application. Permissions are the same between the "non-working" and "working" locations: domain users are members on the site, and the library inherits permissions from the site.  The App Pool and Timer
    Service accounts have rights to the folder and to the library.
    The error in the ULS log is the typical error processing message, but it gives no additional information even though I have enabled Verbose logging.
    The Incoming E-Mail service has completed a batch. The elapsed time was 00:00: 00.0156294. The service processed 2 message(s) in total. Errors occurred processing 2 message(s): Message ID: Message

    Typically, you see "alias not found" or some permissions or quota issue here, but this issue is NOT the same as those. In this case NO additional information is provided in ULS.
    Edit: running stsadm.exe -o refreshdms -url http://one/failing/site fixed some similar issues where "Unknown alias" was
    reported even though the list did have an alias (see here:http://blogs.technet.com/b/vinitt/archive/2009/07/15/e-mail-enabled-list-alias-information-is-not-synchronized-between-configuration-database-and-content-database.aspx).
    This did not fix the issue for the case mentioned above.
    What could possibly be the issue preventing incoming email from working on this one web application?

    Thanks for your reply.  Incoming E-Mail was running on all 3 WFE, however I do not think this was the cause.  As noted, _other_ emails send to http://workingapp are working just fine.  I can send two emails - one to a library on http://workingapp
    and another on http://notworkingapp.  The email to http://notworkingapp will sit in the drop folder, while the one to http://workingapp will be processed correctly.  In addition, the ULS log on WFE1 indicates an attempt to process the file fails.
     So clearly, the timer job on WFE1 is running and attempting to process the file.  For kicks, I disabled the service on WFE2 and WFE3, but with no change in the behavior.
    WRT to #1, I have done this already (as noted in the original post).  I can remove an alias from http://workingapp and place it on http://nonworkingapp and it is not processed.  If I return it to http://workingapp it is processed.  In other
    words, I go into Library Settings -> Incoming Email for a working library, and copy the alias, then disable incoming email for that library.  I then go to Library Settings -> Incoming Email for a non-working library, enable incoming email, and paste
    the alias.  Once done, emails sent to the alias are not processed.  I then do the reverse, and it works again.
    On #2, I have already tried multiple libraries on http://nonworkingapp (also as noted in the original post).
    In my environment, incoming email does not work for any library on http://nonworkingapp, but does work for any library on http://workingapp.  Troubleshooting listed above has ruled out any problem with basic mail server configuration or library settings
    - the problem is bound to http://nonworkingapp
    I'm not sure what you mean by "steps to reproduce the issue".  If I knew that, I would probably be able to solve the issue.  The best I could come up with to describe the situation would be:
    Set up SP 2010 in a three-node configuration with multiple web apps
    Enable incoming email and confirm it works
    Migrate to a SP2013 SP1 farm in a three node configuration.
    Enable a new email alias for a library
    Observe that it doesn't work for one web application.
    Obviously, it's pretty unlikely that attempting that in a lab would actually have the same result.

    I had absolutely no problems before with Snow Loepard.

    This is VERY serious for me - I have many thousands of messages that I archive and need to reference for work and clients, and now I cannot find them.

    An alternate email address is not the same thing as a rescue email address.

    Hi,
    Found the reason for the problem. I think there's a bug in Flex that causes this. One of my formItem had an id="owner" and maybe flex has used this "owner" id somewhere internally. I changed the name and now all the comboboxes are working fine.

    My friend and I have also been experiencing the same connectivity issues here in Ghana for about a week now. I am from the US and have had an account for several years.  I have been using my account here in Ghana for over 6 months and had no issues up until last Thursday when Skype wouldn't connect. I am working on Mac OS 10.8.2 and I've tried everything from uninstalling/reinstalling Skype to creating a new account altogether, none of which are working. My friend who works on a PC has also experienced the same problem in the past week.
    I entreat the Skype technical folks to find a quick fix as it is very frustrating to not be able to communicate with our friends and family. If anything, a courtesy email would have been appreciated if you were planning to cut off our service so that we wouldn't waste time trying to figure out the problem.

    Few days ago a couple of company workers went to vacation. They set up OOF automatic replies in OWA 2013. However automatic replies are not working for external recipients (outside of company). Internal users (company users) receive OOF notification.

    I recently have an issue with Synaptics touchpad on HP Mini 110 Windows 7 32 Bit - NOT working for one user - working for another.
    Windows 7 updates recently installed ???
    By checking the device properties on the user that works - "Synaptics PS/2 Port Touchpad 13/10/2011 Version 15.3.29.0"
    When the other user logs on, the touchpad works for a few seconds, then a displays a black square with a red diagonal line through it, then the touchpad won't respond. Trying to use the keypad to navigate to system diagnosics or anything to find further info is useless....

    I will do my best in assisting to hopefully get the TouchPad to work on the second user profile.
    What I would like to start off with, is to restore the original Synaptics drivers onto the profile that is not working correctly. I have included the document Using Recovery Manager to Restore Software and Drivers (Windows 7).
    Once you have installed the original drivers, you will need to complete all updates from both HP, as well as Windows. For these updates, if you open the HP Support Assistant, and select Maintain, you should see an option for updating.

  • Skype number is suddenly not working for me and my...

    Skype number is suddenly not working for me and my colleagues to RECEIVE outside calls.  Any ideas?
    When I try to call my skype from my cell, it doesnt ring on either end.  It appears connected on the cell phone since the counter clock for the call is increasing, but it doesnt ring or connect.
    This is the same for me and at least 2 of my colleagues.  It was working all day, till suddenly it did not.
    When outside people call, it just gives us a missed call or voicemail email, but does not show a missed call on our skype.
    When I call an outside number from skype, it connects.

    I think this might have been happening to me earlier.  If you wait like 30 seconds when you called a machine said "All circuits are busy. da da da".  I was looking for an answer and google only brought stuff from like 2010.  It's working now after an hour or so.
    Sucks cause I use skype for work and was desperate to find a quick reponse but couldn't.

    I'm troubleshooting an issue during a exchange 2010 to exchange 2013 migration where the OOF is not working for users homed on the exchange 2010 mailbox servers. This applies to users using outlook 2010 and outlook 2013 .OWA works perfectly and you can also
    enable OOF via exchange powershell.
    Users homed on the exchange 2013 servers does not have any issues.
    The exchange 2010 servers is on SP3 rollup 4 and the 2013 servers on SP1 only without any rollups installed.
    So my question will be - have anyone experienced this issue during migration and will patching the exchange 2010 servers to rollup 5 or 6 and the exchange 2013 to sp1 rollup 5 fix the OOF issue then? If requested the client to patch to these levels, but
    in the meantime I'm checking if anyone else had similar issues.
    Any pointers will be welcome.

    1.Please check the problematic exchange 2010 user account can able to access the ews virtual directory internal url and you can check that via browser's.It will prompt for the user name and password , please provide that .

    2.Then the second step would be autodiscover check for the problematic user account.you can find that via test email configuration .There you came to know whether outlook is fetching up the proper url for ews and autodiscover.
    3.Then please un check the proxy settings in browsers and check the same.

  • Sound not working for apps

    The sound is not working for game apps, and possibly other apps. Sound effects work. Side switch is not on mute. Nothing, I repeat NOTHING, is muted. YouTube videos work. System sounds work. Games that are supposed to have sounds no longer have sounds.
    I also cannot update the iOS system. It says that there is no internet connection but the internet works fine for everything else. I am posting this from the device. Resetting and restarting have not worked. Also, the keyboard seems to be having minor problems as well, such as capitalizing, autocorrect, etc, which used to work but now doesn't.
    I have not used the iPad in over a year because of forgotten passcode, and now it has a bajillion problems!
    btw, how do I change the Apple ID username and email information?

    You said that you "reset" and that means different things to different people so we could use some clarification on that.
    For now, I would start with this. If you have already done this, please remember that is where the clarification is so important. Go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings. The iPad will start up on its own when you do this. No data is lost. It all settings have to be entered again.
    IF you changed your Apple ID, go to settings>ITunes & App Store>Apple ID. Sign out in there and sign in with the new ID. This is worthwhile reading and should help.
