Kindly assist with repeated failure to correctly install iTunes on Windows7 Professional. Thanks. Bobby
Could I please be assisted with recurrent failure for iTunes to install correctly on my Dell desktop running Windows7 Professional? Thank you. Bobby
Well, I found a workaround for my issue. It's described in this article:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300836
By disabling the "Sandard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller" in device manager, my iPod was correctly recognized and I was able to sync with iTunes. That's the good news.
The bad news is that: a) Windows warns me that my "device can operate faster if connected to a USB 2.0 port" - and the sync with iTunes runs slowly; b) if I reanable that USB device (as suggested in the Apple article, my iPod is no longer recognized.
For now, I'll just disable this device when I need to sync, then reenable it when done. But this is going to be a pain. I really don't consider this a fix. It's really annoying that the iPod is the only USB device that requires this kind of nonsense.
Looking forward to a "real" fix for this some time soon.

How can I fix the Runtime Error R6034 so that I can correctly install iTunes on my PC ? I get a notice that states ' An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly - Please contact the application's support team for more info
Hey Debbiered1,
Follow the steps in this link to resolve the issue:
iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376
When you uninstall, the items you uninstall and the order in which you do so are particularly important:
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order and then restart your computer:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended affects.
Let us know if following that article and uninstalling those components in that order helped the situation.

Can't re-install iTunes on Windows7 64bit PC.
Can't re-install iTunes on Windows7 64bit PC. Tried uninstalling Apple programs in correct order and starting again with new download but I can't install Apple App support which means iTunes won't work. May be something to do with microsoft visual c++ redistributable package x86 which I cannot repair.
Help please!
Thanks
MikeA hint from another thread suggests that temporarily disabling the Windows Firewall may help with the installation of the C++ Redistributable components.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for performance issues or compatibility with third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

I just installed Itunes on Windows7 x64 and I get the following error...
I just installed Itunes on Windows7 x64 and I get the following error when trying to open it. "Itunes cannot run because it detects a problem with Quicktime. For repair instructions click Help." When I do this all it pretty much tells me to do is reinstall which doesn't really do anything at all. Another method mentioned is to download quicktime as a stand alone installer and isntall that version again to no avail. I have no idea what to do. Thanks for your help. I can provide any information needed upon request. And yes I have uninstlaled completely restarted then reinstalled only to get the error again.
Good lord.
Right. Presumably either this one:
... or this one:
... is at the heart of matters. The second one is the more familiar one. So we'll assume (to begin with) that the first one is a rare complication of the sort of install trouble that can produce the second one.
Rather than using Revo, I'd like to try using the Windows Installer CleanUp utility to clear the installation configuration information for your Apple Software Update. Unfortunately, doing so has become more difficult
ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Software Update entries and click "Remove". Quit CleanUp.
Now try uninstalling (again without using Revo) iTunes and QuickTime. If those uninstalls seem to go through okay, restart the PC.
Now try the iTunes reinstall again. Does it hang with that "required module" error again? or does it install smoothly this time? -
After I install itunes on my windows 7 - 64 bit machine it will not reboot and I need to restore to a date before itunes was install. How do I fix this?
I'm having a very similar issue, paired with iTunes not being able to get online.
iTunes shows up in processes and then hangs at 17,000 K or so -- sometimes it will start up, but that (if it occurs) is a delay of literal hours.
Pretty meticulously went through all the 'cannot connect' trouble shooting, and have uninstalled, restarted, and then reinstalled every piece of apple software; issue is just as firm. Starting in safe mode or admin mode don't fix it; signing in as a different user doesn't fix it. -
When ever iTunes updates, it ends up coming up with error message, iTunes did not install properly, please re-install iTunes, this is about the fourth time this has happened, end up having to take it to computer tech at a cost of $180, please help

Cannot install iTunes on XP Professional
I cannot install iTunes on my computer.Whenever I try to install the program I get the following errors:
- the first one:
ERROR 1406 COULD NOT ADD VALUE TO KEY
HKEYLOCALMACHINE\Software\Classes\.cdda\OpenWithList\
iTunes.s.exe
-the second error appears after I click on ingnore/retry:
ERROR 1402 COULD NOT OPEN KEY
HKEYLOCALMACHINE\Software\Classes\.cdda\OpenWithProdigs
and the last error:
ERROR1603 FATAL ERROR DURING INSTALLATION
Consult windows installer help...
What should I do?I fixed my problem (Itunes 6.0) by running regedit.
In windows:
Start / Run
Type regedit and press ok
Locate the following folder in your registry
My Computer\HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\.cdda
Right-click the .cdda folder, and choose "Permissions..."
Add or edit your useraccount, so it will have full control over .cdda and click apply.
I do have administrator rights on the machine, but the ITunes setup doesnt seem to know. Im guessing you can edit the permissions for the folder back after install... but I haven't gotten around to that yet
Hope it'll fix your install to! -
Dear all,
I have this massage that says the startup disk is full, how can I decongest it?It would help to know what you were doing when you received the message. It is always wise to leave about 10 to 15% of your HDD capacity free so that there is plenty of workspace for temporary files and so on. If you have a lot of movies or thousands of photos (especially RAW files) then your disk very well might be reaching its workable limit. The safest solution is to have a reliable backup (such as Time Machine) where the contents are stored, then you could do a safety redundant backup of your movies, photos and audio by copying them to a different external HDD, then remove them from the internal drive. In that way they would be accessible for restoration by way of Time Machine, or they would be accessible as files from the external. The prices of external drives are now very low and affordable so the purchase of a 1TB or 2TB HDD is no longer prohibitive. Any long-time user will tell you that 'backup' + 'backup of the backup' [that is: redundant backup] is never a bad idea when working with important files. The time to do this is NOW before a drive failure not after when it might be impossible.

Repeated failures trying to download iTunes update 10.5.1.42 for WinXP
I have failed 4-times trying to download iTunes update 10.5.1.42 for WinXp. What is causing the installer failure? I have maintained the Windows XP system files and Windows Installer, along with iTunes versions until now. The install process message says "THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE Windows Installer Package. A PROGRAM RUN AS PART OF THE SETUP DID NOT FINISH AS EXPECTED. CONTACT YOUR SUPPORT PERSONNEL OR PACKAGE VENDOR."
This is the first time I have had a problem updating iTunes on my XP desktop. After reviewing other Download related problems, one reply suggested using the REPAIR feature from Window Control Panel, list of Software Installed. I repaired 3 Apple software files and iTunes main file. Took about 10-12 minutes. Then reran "Check for updates" from iTunes/Help menu. Surprised to find 1 program listed that didn't popup "before" I repaired the Apple files. New version of APPLE SOFTWARE UPDATE 2.1.3.127. Tryed to install but it hung up/stalled. Then tried again only used the DOWNLOAD option instead of install option. Then Manually "Ran" that file from my Apple/Apple Software Update folder. filenamed "APPLESOFTWAREUPDATE, type "Windows Installer Package" from Apple. It worked!!
Then Checked for updates from iTunes/Help, surprised to see (4) new files available. Safari 5.1.1; Mobile Control Panel 1.6.7; iTunes 10.5.1.42; and Quicktime 7.7.1. Installed all 4 and now iTunes 10.5+ runs great and my iCloud works, letting me catch up Downloads from the Apple/iTunes servers.
What a pain in the @$#!!!! and it only took 2.5 hours to get it all figured out with 6 total attempts to update to iTunes 10.5.1.42.
