KM iviews, KM Content, Index Administration showed Portal Runtime error

Hi Experts,
We recently tried migrating our BI production portal to new hardware. The Portal version was not changed just it was migrated from one server to another. After migration the portal restarted properly but the KM iviews, KM Content and Index Administration showed "Portal Runtime Error".
We restarted the portal several times but still the same. Also the KM services were running.
We had migrated the BI development portal in similar manner couple of months back but it did not showed any such error. It was successful in first attempt.
Can anyone please suggest what must have gone wrong and how can this be corrected? Is there any monitoring or tracing tool we can use to check this. Please suggest.
Thanks & Regards,
Seema Rane.

I guess the KM applications are not being found. How do I correct this? Our KM repository is connected to BI and has got lot of BI content in it.
Will redeploying the com.sap.km.applications.par file help?
Please provide some solution so that this error will be resolved without effecting the KM Content.
Thanks & Regards,

If you are not able to see only BI admin cockpit. you need to do this.
In Portal, assigned role tab, BI adminstratro role should be included.
If you are not able to do anything in portal, Basis config for portal is not yet done

    Hi All
    Problem now solved.
So I am documenting the steps used to solve it.
    1. Change these parameters for the content producer's backend system object
    Web Application Server information
    Web AS Host Name:     companyname.com
    Web AS Path:     /webdynpro/dispatcher/
    Web AS Protocol:     https
    2. Change UWL System Parameters for u201CSAP_ECC_HumanResources"
Web Dynpro Launch Sytem = SAP_WebDynpro_XSS
    User Roles = Z_UWL_HR
    3. Re-register u201CSAP_ECC_HumanResourcesu201D UWL system
    4. Clear cache of select u201CSAP_ECC_HumanResourcesu201D UWL system.
Hope this solves many users tricky UWL  issues.

  • Pop ups on Standard MDM Portal iViews throw Portal Runtime Error

    Hi all,
We are facing some issues with MDM Standard Search iViews in Portal. We have configured MDM standard iViews using MDM Search Texts iView, MDM Result Set iView, MDM Search Picklists iView, MDM Item Details etc. We are facing a problem with the MDM Search Picklists iViews wherein we have to click the ellipses button to open the pop up. Whenever we open the pop up, the pop up shows Portal Runtime Error. Please find the screenshot below:
    http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/1138/portalruntimeerror.jpg
The MDM System is working fine. The other Standard iViews are also working fine. The surprising thing is that, when the Super Admin role is assigned to the user, the iViews start working perfectly as shown below:
    http://img696.imageshack.us/img696/6808/worksfinethisway.jpg
I have checked the permissions also on all these iViews as well as the System object and did not find any problem. Moreoever, this was working fine till some days back. All of a sudden these iViews have stopped working. Please guide me as to what can be the reason for this and any possible solutions.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Ankur

I would check the logs but it sounds like a permission error to me.  Can you or your basis resources modify the Security Zones?
System Administration -> Permissions -> expand Security Zones folder -> right click on com.sap.pct.mdm.appl.masteriviews and select Open Permissions -> in the assign permissions section add read permissions for a particular user, role, or group which the user getting the error is part of, check the End User checkbox -> Save.  Login to the portal and try again.

    Hi!
I integrated SAP BW system with SAP Portal. All the connection tests (Sap Web AS connection, ITS connection, Connection Test for connectors) run successfully.
I also installed a BI add on u201CBI Administratoru201D on Portal and performed all the steps on SAP BI system.
When I try to access one of the functions of BI Administrator I get Portal Runtime Exception on all the windows in Portal (bellow, in the middle, etc.).

Any helpful information will be very appreciated!
    Axel

    Hi Axel,
The following error generally occurs because of permissions problem. Please make sure that "Everyone " user has full control for the System created at System Configuration. Also same with "Everyone" group.
If you are in SAP NW 04 stack 10, check the beloe SAP note : 828552

    Hi Avadh,
    Thanks for your reply.
I tested thru connection test of the system , it was tested successflly without any issues. all are into tick mark only.
but when i am trying to use the system alias name while creating Trasaction iview also i am not able to get the system alias name in the dropdown for selecting the system alias.
but system alias what ever it is "BIDCLNT100" is in active and connection test is done correctly without any issues.
Please let me know the problem why i am not able to get the same system alias name "BIDCLNT100" not able to get in the drop down list while creating the transaction IView??
Please reply , Thanks in advance
    Thanks,

  • Portal Runtime Error in WD iViews during iView personalization

    Hi,
I am using SAP's MDM iViews with some custom webdynpro application iViews in my netweaver portal 7.0.  When I click on the personalize 'apply' button of any iView, the whole page gets refreshed. The standard SAP MDM iViews gets rendered without any problems.  But the custom webdynpro iViews throw portal runtime error as shown below:
    Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing your request
    Exception id: 02:25_17/12/08_0106_18297950
Can anybody throw some light on this?
    Regards,
    Yuvaraj SG

    Hi Yuvaraj,
Assign the user super admin role and see if the page opens fine or not.
If the page opens fine, remove the super admin role and check the permissions for the custom web dynpro applications.....
and see if enduser check box is marked or not.
And at the same time check the permissions of the content provided by SAP folder and your custom folder where you have similar roles or not.
For this navigate to System Administration - Permissions - Portal Content
For detailed analysis check nwa as suggested by Bala.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers-

  • Portal runtime Error in KM Navigation iView

    Hi,
I have created a KM Navigation iview and assigned it to a role.
When I preview it via portal content, everything is fine.
When I login as an end user with that role (to which this iview is assigned) this list of documents in that folder is shown. But when I click on any of the doc to view that, it gives me
    Portal runtime error.
An exception occurred while processing your request. Send the exception ID to your portal administrator.
    Exception ID: 04:09_22/07/11_0133_7786050
Refer to the log file for details about this exception.
I have already assigned the Full control permission for this role to that document folder.
Is there any more setting that needs to be done??
    Thanks,
    Atul

    Hey Atul,
Check the URL Generator Service for the host and alternative host. See to it that these URLs have the same domain name as that of the Portal. Also, if there has been a KM database copy lately, see to it that the document is not pointing to the server in the other environments to which you as an admin could have access to but not as an end user. So, for that, again check the URL Generator Service. I am just throwing in possibilities, it had happened with me once.
Use HTTPwatch to verify what URL is the iView trying to point to OR I guess your logs might have already told you that.
    Hope it helps,
    Prathamesh

  • Portal Runtime Error: You must have permissions to execute this iView

    Hey
I have imported Business Package for SAP CRM 4.0 50.2.4 / 60.2.3 and running it on a SAP Portal 6.0.
When I using the role com.sap.pct.crm.PortalAdmin I get the following Error Message when im accessing most of the iviews in the role:

You must have permissions to execute this iView.
See the details for the exception ID in the log file
The iView i want to access is the Index Administration iview and the Configuration iview belonging to the Portal KM workset.
I've found a note on exactly this problem:
Note 751217 - Not the necessary permission to execute CRM iViews
And i have done what they describe in the solution by importing the new package and give myself the PortalAdminAuthorization role.
I still get the same error message. Got any tips beside sending an OSS message?
And yes, I have checked the permission for the iviews, and i got the role super_admin_role.
    Best Regards
    Kristoffer Engh

    Hello Sekhar,
It may be due to some authorization issues.
Run your application in the portal and at the same time check the T-Code SU53. Contact your BASIS/Security team to resolve your authorization issues.
Guess it will really solve your problem.
