Know of any good tutorial

Hey guys i want to learn how to draw shapes and stuff on a JPanel,
Also be able to specifically call what shape should appear on a panel from within main such as shape, size, colour ect;
Can anyone please tell me where i can find a good site giving plebty of examples and tutorials. Specifically the structure of such a program.

How are you creating the file, exactly?

Do you guys know of any good tutorials?

In my home I have 3-4 computers which we often use to play
games online/LAN together. I have been using flash for several
years and messed around with actionscript quite a bit. I was hoping
to develope a game that supported a small number of players(like
5-10) in flash that I could run a server on my computer and we
could all play this game together. So sort of like a
mini-personalized-not-so-massmultiplayer-game or really just any
flash game that I could play with someone on a different computer.
So i was wondering if anyone knew of a tutorial for creating
multiplayer flash games(with smartfox i guess). Other than all of
the smartfox tutorials(which dont really give me what i want) do u
have any ideas or suggestions about tutorials or how to make the
game?
{I also realize that I probably wont be successful but it
would be fun trying}

This is not a reply, rather an additional question (since I havent figured out how to add a question to the forum). I need to program in J2ME on an embedded processor. I need to know what processors are man enough to support J2ME i.e. what are the hardware constraints. I have searched through the web and cannot find ANYTHING on this, and yet I thought the whole idea of J2ME was that it was portable to various embedded hardware platforms. Can I use a 8051 variant for example or does it need something much celeverer?

Does anyone know of a good tutorial on creating a header in pages

We had a header for our business set up as a template on pages, but with the update they all have been changed and they look crazy.
I was looking for a tutorial on how to create a header using an image (our logo) but also add text and have it as a template that I can share with the staff.

Use an image and a textbox and move them to the Master Pages.
If you are going to stick with Pages 5 you really need to look around for yourself and work out methods of coping within the limited sets of features that it offers.

Anybody know of any good photo printers that will take card stock?

I work for a small print shop. We have a high end production color copier. But it doesn't produce "photo" quality prints. It's a color copier after all. What I'm looking for is a small desktop size probably color printer (probably inkjet) that will produce photo quality prints. The catch is, I'd like to be able to print on cardstock. 80# to be more accurate. Is there anything like that out there?
Its just that I want to be able to provide "photo quality" prints to our customers instead of the "kind of photo quality" that comes off of our copier. Thoughts? Ideas?

All decent ink-jet photo printers are designed to work with branded papers and branded ink cartridges, via branded drivers. These work together as a system, for best and most predictable results. I'd just call up a local printer sales outfit and ask if they have anything that will print on 80 lb. cover. If they have one, go see samples, and get materials prices, because the paper and ink isn't usually cheap, and refilled/off-brand ink and paper typically doesn't get you where you want to go, quality-wise.
Alternately, get an Epson or a Cannon or whatever (which print on less-than-80-lb cover), and also invest in a dry-mount press, for the "card" part of your adventure.

Know of any good Arm Bands and FM Transmitters for the Zen Mic

I'm thinking of buying a Micro and want to make sure I can get an arm band and transmitter. I notice on Creative's Micro page they list transmitters at the bottom but there is no link. What have you done to get these products?

<font size=>The FM Transmitter shown on the website is the Belkin Tunecast II. I own it, and it works great for me. I suggest rechargable AAA batteries though, because it uses the battery fast. That is not a problem if you are using it in the car though... it has the Car Adapter and it uses that for power.
As to the armband- there is not one mad specificly for the mico, but I have heard that there is one that do fit the micro pretty snugly.Message Edited by bberenbaum on 03-7-2005 02:02 AM

One like This is nice because it exhausts hot air, rather than just mixing it around inside the case.
When installed next to an AGP card, it helps pull heat off the card and quickly expels it.
Just stirring air around can disrupt the airflow of the case.
A dual fan PCI slot cooler like This has both exhaust and a movable fan for increasing spot cooling.

3. Write code. Read the book and reflect on your code to date. Goto 3.
With this approach, you will learn both the OO aspects of the language, and the idioms of the language. You can learn OO from one language, but a second is useful - it allows you to distingish (by experience) the difference between a language feature and an OO feature.
So, if Java is your bag, may I suggest Effective Java - Programming Language Guide, by Joshua Bloch and Practical Java - Programming Language Guide, by Peter Haggar.
If its C++, the the Scott Meyers' Effective C++ books are excellent.
And for more on OOP, but with samples in Java, checkout Refactoring by Martin Fowler - this is full of code samples, and describes what is good and what is bad about them - patterns and antipatterns. It will also show you that what is good OOP for one situation is bad for another.
I do not know of any online tutorial, simply because I have not looked and I like to hold a book. But you could search on google or cetus-links.

Looking For A Good Tutorial That Shows How To Redirect A Form Page.

Attached is a mock up of the Home Recipes Page on the site I'm building. When a user clicks on one of the categories (Desserts, Drinks, etc), I want them to be able to go to the Main Page for that category, on which will appear the recipes that have already been posted by them or someone else. Also on the Main Page, I want them to be able to click on a button that takes them to a page on which they can enter a recipe. There are four fields on the "Enter Page;" Recipe Title, Ingredients, Preparation, Serves How Many.
Does anyone know of a good tutorial that would help me accomplish what I'm trying to do, and/or answer some of the questions I have?
1. For the page on which they use to post a recipe (in the process of building this one), is that named something like enterDesserts?
2. For the page on which the already posted recipes appear, do I name it something like postedDesserts?
2.a. I know I'll have to create a container div on the "posted" page for each of the four fields on the "enter" page, but how do I direct the
information that's entered into the proper div?
