L355-S7902 and other vista machine same problem after updates

I swear I have had it with MS. After loading the recent 13 updates my vista installation on the Toshiba
and my desktop are now bringing up a Windows Installer message attempting to install something ???
after the first site is clicked. Research says my registry is corrupted. As usual if it is MS did it!!!!
This problem does not show up in the event log. Some say it is an annoyance others say potentially serious registry problem. All I know is that when I recently attempted to load SVC PK 3 on XP it was windows installer that
tanked that operation (forever as far as I am concerned).
Please advise,

I think I've found the answer. Opera!!!! It updates in the background and it does use Win installer.
No wonder it did not show up in event log except I did find it as simple inormation.

i had just purchased an iphone 5 and had IOS 6 already on it when i recieved it .However i decided to update to IOS 6.1 but now when i go on youtube through a browser such as chrome or safari to play youtube videos , i have to stay on that screen to hear the video . For example when i did not update yet ,i use to listen to music on youtube through my chrome browser and exit the screen and double tap the home button and swipe to the left to play the music in the background as i mulitasked such as texting, web browsing etc. But now i cant do that. When i double tap the home button and swipe to to the left to press the play button , the sound does not start up. This is very frustrating because i cant mulittask and i have to stay on the screen ! Is there a way to fix this myself or is a bug issue that needs a new software update !? thank you !

Are you loading those videos as Flash or HTML5? It is possible to prevent videos from playing until you click something with Flashblock for Flash or Stop Tube HTML5 for HTML5. You can also stop the commercials with Adblock Plus with an Easylist subscription.

Notification settings on iPad 3 are set properly but my new IPad does not get alert badges or rounds on apps with all notifications selected and in notifications center. Why? Others are reporting same problem.

i just bought the new iPad and even though notifications are set exactly the same for mail and my app is turned on and in the Notifications Center and alerts and sounds selected for mail and apps only my iPad 2 is working. Do you have system sounds muted? Check the button above your volume control on the right hand side of the iPad. If, when you change the button you see mute on your screen, you'll restore system sounds. If you see lock orientation, you can restore system sounds by double tapping your home button to bring up the task bar (most recently used apps). With your finger swipe those apps all the way to the right to reveal a mute icon on the left. Touch that icon and you'll restore system sounds.
Let us know if that was the issue.

Autorun only shows the Apple Bonjour service. It started when try to sync more than one iphone over WiFi. I have two iphones and an iPad. I turned off syncing over WiFi and still has high CPU utilization. One of the CPU's is pegged at 100%. It is the AppleMobileDeviceService.exe process.

For the record, I then followed the suggestion of MarcDCMB in https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4291206 of just manually restarting the Apple Mobile Device service in Windows services.msc once each time after starting iTunes and the service no longer hogs CPU after that service restart. Not too painful as a work-around, and apparently an effective one, but clearly not a solution to the problem. Again, as above, all the other solutions didn't work for me and I have no conflicting software as far as I can tell. So you'd have to say this Apple's problem.
Also FTR, I am still on the 5.2.0.6 version of the Apple Mobile Device Support MSI and I don't know if that is relevant to this work-around working but my sense is that it is NOT relevant. I'll report back on this thread if I re-upgrade and the problem returns in spite of the service-restart approach.

Open your QuickTime control panel (either via the Control panels, or by going "Edit > Preferences > QuickTime Preferences" in the Quicktime Player). In the Advanced tab, uncheck Enable Direct3D video acceleration:

Well, it appears that your backup is corrupt, thus causing your issue. So, you'll have to restore as a new device, & not from backup. Follow this by syncing your content back to your phone:

First of all, why did you say yes to Nero Back up before researching what it does with files already on the HDD? When I install Nero, the Back Up is the first thing I disable, it is a nagging pain, there are much better backup programs available. There are several file recovery programs out there to recover deleted files, that is, if that is what happened. Also, if you haven't overwritten the files, so you should be able to find them.

I stumbled upon the solution. In addition to downloading Creative Cloud, I needed to go back to the website and download trials for the programs I want to use--Photoshop and Lightroom. Once I did that, I was in business. Would save trouble if that was made clear on the download site.

This is a user supported frum, so making threats really doesn't help, besides which it's not like any of us can really make a dent in Toshiba's bottom line despite how many people we think we can influence. Unless those people were standing in line to buy a Toshiba product cash in hand, and you pulled them out, it really doesn't add up for them.
At this point it would probably be better for you to use the 800 number. Have all your e-mails ready to forward, if needed, to whoever you end up talking to. Don;t let them off the hook. An hour on the phone is much better than weeks passing e-mails through a support site. Also contest the charge with your bank or credit card.

I have exactly the same problem. The interesting thing is that the file opens when I attach it to an email and open it out of the email. I already saw the advice you provided in similar post from Aug last year and checked the security settings of the file and the folder. But according to that I have all rights.
My OS is Windows 7 Enterprise.
