Labview crashed when saving vi and now cannot open VI libray

I am using LabVIEW 7.1.
I am developing a moderately large application. I Just saved my main VI and LabVIEW crashed for some reason.
My vi library will now not open. When I try to open the library I get the error message: "an error occured when listing the contents of (my directory/myvi.library)".
Has anybody ever had this problem and if so does anybody know how I can recover my vi library?
I have just lost about 2 days work so if anybody has any ideas I would be most grateful.
I hope it is not a fatal problem - I cannot even show the vi's in the vi libray using windows explorer.

It looks like you've learned the hard way why you should not use .llb's
during development. If a single VI in the library get's corrupted, the
entire library is bad. This is why during development, you're much
better off keeping everything in an organized directory structure. This
way, a crash like you had would only affect those VI's that had not yet
ben saved.
I've heard rumors that NI has an internal untility that might be able to recover the library. I'd try contacting support directly to see if they can help.

What are you actually trying to do? Why do you need "DVD size" folders if you're creatng an Archive on an external hard drive?
Also, I understand burning folders instead of individual photos or albums gives you more space on a DVD.
It makes no difference at all.
How can I keep the captions on my photos (not events) when I print or transfer to a new folder?
You can export while writing the metadata to the file in most cases.
Tne only way I know is to copy photos from the Windows to folders on my HD, then copy and paste photos or albums or events to HD, then create a new folder and fill it to the appropriate DVD size.
HD? Another HD? You use HD there in a way that makes no sense. What's the point of 'DVD size'?
I also thought I should download future photos to my Canon programming that comes with EOS cameras and edit and then decide which photos to save to iPhoto library and which to save only to my archival HD?
Does this have any relation to the previous questions? You know you can delete from iPhoto, right?
You're somewhat confused and you need to
1. Decide what exactly you want to do
2. Then go about it.
If I understand you correctly - and there's no guarantee that I do - the easiest thing is to bring all your Photos into iPhoto and do everything from there.
You can have an archive on an external disk, you can sort and select and edit with or via iPhoto

If it's because you were using Office 2004, the eight year old version of Office that was written when Intel processors were not used in Macs, then there will be no fix. Lion dropped support for PowerPC applications, as has been widely reported since Lion's release last August.
You can upgrade Office 2004 to Office 2008 or Office 2011. You can use iWorks 2009 that can open Microsoft files. You can use a number of free applications that are also capable of working with Microsoft documents. You can go back to Snow Leopard, if you have a backup. Or, if you have an external drive or room to add a partition to your current drive, you can install Snow Leopard on it.
Search these forums for more information. If this is your issue, it's been posted and answered several times a day since August 2011.

I'm in the same boat: new to OS X and Mac, and in the middle of a book. I switched because I heard about the the ease of using Mac, but so far, for me, it's been a nightmare. I bought 2011 Office Mac and hate everything about it, the most recent being the inability to open or cut or paste any of my original word files. I understand that this could have easily been done with earlier versions, but not Mountain Lion (which I learned is what OSX is.) Since I work with language, I am amazed at the assumptions of the Apple community. It helps to use common language and explain even the basics.
So all the helpful hints to use the latest version of Office Mac are to no avail. Now what?

You would need at least CS3 with ACR 4.6 to natively edit NEFs from a D90 in PS:

It might also work to use the DNG Converter 4.6 or newer to convert the NEF files to DNGs and then those might open in your older CS2 ACR, but I’m not sure, since it’s a 9 year old program I haven’t used in years.

Since yesterday morning about 11:00 I have been having TERRIBLE email problems on this iPad 3G. Email comes in (I hear the sound) but nothing displays -- no folders, no content, no nothing in e-mail. The blank email screen shows up and then disappears after about 10 seconds, taking me back to the Home Screen.
Right now, the only way I can see email on this device is to log onto AOL via the AOL app.
I have been doing a lot of online reading about the problem. It has to do with iOS 8.1.3 and it affects older iPads and iPhones. I'm having no problems on my iPod touch, which -- fortunately -- is so old it cannot update its iOS 6.
I waited to update the iOS on this iPad until iOS 8 was "mature." That was about 2 weeks ago.
Anybody know know if Apple is aware? working on a solution?

Double click it and accept the end user license agreement (eula)

LabVIEW crash when saving from LV2012 to LV2011 with express VI and reopen in LV2012

Hi all,
Preconditions:
Save the "Meas Angular Position-Buffered-Cont-Sync AI Sample Clk.vi" for a previous version of LabVIEW, in this case from LV2012 to LV2011
Reopen the LV2011 VI in LV2012 according to the steps below.
Steps to get it to crash:
Unzip Crash.zip
Open the "Meas Angular Position-Buffered-Cont-Sync AI Sample Clk.vi" and from there double-click (open) the "PulsedDerivative.vi" and from there double click the "Derivative dX/dt" express VI.
LabVIEW crashes!!
Alternatively when LabVIEW does not crash:
Unzip Crash.zip
Open "PulsedDerivative.vi"
Inside the VI double click the "Derivative dX/dt" express VI.
LabVIEW does not crash?
Some compiler bug?

Satellite U - Crashes when starting windows and recovery cannot fix

Most of the time but not every time the laptop crashes when starting windows.
I get a blue screen, a dump file is created and then it restarts and gives me the option of starting windows normally or using windows recovery. The windows recovery cannot fix the problem.
When I select the option of opening windows normally everything works fine with no problems.
If I restart the laptop it never crashes.
The problem only happens about 90% of the time when switching it on.
The problem started soon after buying the laptop in October.
Originally it came with Windows Vista and I wondered if the problem was with Vista so yeterday I upgraded to Windows 7 but it still crashes on most start ups. Otherwise the laptop works fine and I am pleased with it.
I suspect the problem might be with Realtec but the drivers appear to be up to date. My internet security is trend micro.
I wondered if it might be a hardware problem when it happens under both Vista and windows 7.
Has anyone got any ideas about what might be causing the laptop to crash on startup?

I have exactly the same problem with the laptop (U500 11E) crashing on startup, recovery can't do anything and sometimes I get a Windows "solution" box that tries to find something and then just vanishes.
I followed the same procedure as Dave, by upgrading to Win7 thinking that might fix the problem, but it clearly didn't. I also updated all drivers and the BIOS to the latest versions.
I think my trouble started not right out of the box but only after I upgraded to Vista Service Pack 1, but I'm not completely sure.
It is pretty annoying because of course it now takes twice as long to get the laptop up and running.
Finding someone else who also has the problem makes me wonder if the problem might have another cause and if there might be a way to fix it?

Labview crash when saving

Hi Forum
When trying to save the attached file in 8.6 (the file is created in 7.1) LabVIEW crashes with a Windows error telling me that the system has encountered a problem and needs to close.
All the SubVIs save without problems and I don't see what should cause this specific VI to cause trouble.
I have searched the forum and tried the different tricks mentioned in other threads about this issue, but none of them seems to help on my VI.
I hope that somebody has a good suggestion as to what I can do.

The problem appears to be with the typedefs. Specifically, it looks like it's the text ring. Disconnecting the typedefs in 7.1 and resaving it allows it to be opened in newer version. Attached is in 8.2

Itouch crashed when updating ios6 and now won't restore

My itouch crashed when updating to ios6 and now won't restore! Getting an error code (14). Any ideas?

These errors are typically resolved by performing one or more of the steps listed below:
Perform USB isolation troubleshooting, including trying a different USB port directly on the computer. See the advanced steps below for USB troubleshooting.
Put a USB 2.0 hub between the device and the computer.
Try a different USB 30-pin dock-connector cable.
Eliminate third-party security software conflicts.
There may be third-party software installed that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting one or more TcpWindowSize entries into your registry. Your default packet size being set incorrectly can cause this error. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet-size modification for assistance. Downloaded the latest revision and now cannot open tabs for new searches or change the main tab from my home page. What did you do to my old Mozilla?

It opens to my home page but I cannot open another tab. If I change the address in the address bar, it will not go to the new address. I have to go to explorer to get these features now but I really liked my old firefox.

Upgraded and now cannot open iPhotos

I just updated to Maverick, but now iPhotos 9.2.3 won't open. Did I just loose all my photos? If I upgrade my iPhotos, will I be able to get them back?

Thank you for the question, and I definitely understand your concern. The iPhoto application and your iPhoto Library are stored in two different locations, so even if you cannot open iPhoto, your photos are still in their original location.
The version of iPhoto you are currently running is not compatible with Mavericks, but you can upgrade iPhoto to the latest version to access your photos. Follow the steps in the article below to upgrade the iPhoto application:

Once you update iPhoto, you should be able to access your iPhoto Library, but it is always a good idea to have a backup of your photos:

Adobe player and reader -updates and now cannot open new Email, reply Email or attached PDF's. Fix?

On my Windows PC, Win 7, 64 bit, I have Adobe Reader and Adobe Player.
a week or two or more I have had messages of Adobe updates and downloaded and installed them, but I think after these (could also be after Windows updates) I cannot open a new Email, cannot reply to an Email, and cannot open a PDF attached to an Email.
Earleir I think there was a message in the box on the screen that the cause was .. "101.1" or similar.
I have worked through Adobe suggestions in settings and downloaded again etc, but still can't find an answer to the problem.
I suspect it is a simple fix but I can't find it.
I also have AVG virus, PC tune etc running.
Also, (maybe connected?), in this time I have also been finding the PC will seize - seems like it is overloading the processor and will then either shut down, or I will have to shut it down and restart. This also seemed to happen on my last PC system and it seemed to be connected with Norton anti virus starting and overlaoding the processing, which was why I changed to AVG, but although I had Norton still on this PC (removed yesterday)it was not paid, although it was active and often sent up warnings to renew the subscription.
Would like a fix if anyone knows how

Having multiple virus checking software can cause all sorts of problems. I have no idea what PC tune is. There is no Adobe software called Player. Perhaps Flash Player. Problems with Flash Player can be addressed here:

As to problems with Reader, I would suggest the Adobe Acrobat/Reader Cleaner software then re-installing Reader from scratch:
