How can apple send out an os update that renders an important function of the software/hardware to not work? They knowingly have sent out this new os update for iPad which makes airplay nonfunctining! I need this for my business!  I could understand if they didn't know, but it is all over the Internet! When I went in to have it revert back to os6 (which worked fine!) I was actually asked if I had done any research before I installed the upgrade! As if this is the consumer's fault for being dumb enough to fall for the upgrade!

That is not what I have discovered, nor what others have discovered, nor what I was told when I went the Genius Bar.  I cannot remotely mirror to my MacBook Pro and it only started the day after I installed the upgrade.  We tested it with an iPad that had not been upgraded, no problem.

  • Where can I find a list of compatible software/hardware that will work with Yosemite?

Before I upgrade to Yosemite I would like to see a list of incompatible software/hardware to help me decide to upgrade or not.

I have success still with Photoshop CS3, though you will need to download a java package, but it takes you right to the download for that and it works just fine..  Basically it seems if it ran under Snow Leopard (barring of course the PPC code that used Rosetta) it runs in Yosemite. Heck, using an updated menucracker, I managed to keep my iStat 2 menus working!

    Hello All,
I am an ambitious and hardworking LabVIEW developer who is available for short/medium term contract work in the UK/EU. My formal qualifications consist of a bachelors and masters degree in electronic engineering. I am permitted to work without restriction in the UK/EU, and am available from Monday 2008/01/14 onwards.
My previous experience includes two years as a Research and Development Engineer, where I was responsible for the design and implementation of a host of LabVIEW software suites for a flexible DSP based telecommunications test platform.
Following that I experienced two exciting seasons working at the pinnacle of motorsport as a Test and Calibration engineer for a Formula 1 team. My duties included improvement and design of new automated test systems (LabVIEW based) for the on car sensors.
Currently I am in the last week of a contract that is involved in the design and implementation of an automated test system for the semiconductor industry (NDA prevents me from divulging any more information).
My four years of LabVIEW experience, coupled with my strong traditional programming skills and natural logical analysis, and the desire and willingness to put in 110% sets me in good stead to tackle any engineering challenge that I am presented with.
If there are any roles that may prove suitable, I would be very interested in hearing about them. My CV is available on request.

  • LV 8.6 will Not Compile in LV 2010 - Labview 10.0 Development System Has Encountered a Problem and Needs to Close

I submitted this support request to NI on 8/12/2010.
When I compile my LV 8.6 app in LV2010 I get this error:
"LabVIEW 10.0 Development System has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience."
I was told to do a "Mass Compile" of my LV 8.6 app in LV2010...this failed too.
I was then told to go to each and every vi and "Mass Compile" individually...after about the 50th vi this got old quickly...and it still didn't compile.  I then sent NI tech support "my code".  The good news is my LV 8.6 app didn't compile with LV2010 @ NI.
My LV 8.6 app compiles and runs great in LV 8.6.  I don't want to be left behind with the newer upgrades and I want to move to LV2010.  I have lots of LV8.6 code to maintain and I really don't have the time to debug all of my apps.
I was told this will be looked @ in LV2010 SP1.
One note...back up your LV8.6 data before you move to LV2010.  Once your LV8.6 code is compiled in LV2010 you will not be able to go back to LV8.6.
I restored all of my LV8.6 code and I'm back working with LV8.6.
It's a tough call, do I stay in LV8.6 and get left behind?
Do I bite the bullet and try to debug this mess in LV2010?
I was told the compiler is completely different in LV2010.  That's great, but one reason I have NI Maintenance Agreement is to keep updated with the latest software.  I can't afford to re-compile LV code every few years.  Like most people, maintaining my Apps with customer's revisions, and modifications is enough work.  I don't want more work!
I was told LV2010 SP1 would likely appear in May or June of 2011.  I'd hate to break out my old Turbo Pascal apps again...but hey...they still work!  My NI maintenance agreement is due this month too, I guess I'll pay NI one more year, and see if they come up with a solution.  But if NI doesn't fix this LV8.6 compile in LV2010 problem...I don't see any value staying current with LV software.
I found another Bug with LV2010...you are going to love this one!
There is a new "LV Update Service".  Perfect!  I like updating my LV software when new patches are available.  When I click "update" the update spins over and over "Checking for New Version".  I have let it run ALL day with no results...just sits and spins over and over.
OK, I know give NI a break!  Yes, LV2010 has a new compiler...and Yes, I will renew my NI maintenance agreement.  I just want NI to know failing to compile just one LV8.6 app in LV2010 is not a good idea for customer relations.
    Thanks,
    Doug

  • Hardware Developer Notes where are they?

Anyone know where Apple have stashed the 'Hardware Developer Notes' for all the Intel based machines?
Years ago the Reference Library displayed the Hardware Notes for each and every Apple hardware model. These developer notes provided detailed information. The link has since been removed which I managed to find but there is zero sign of the same documentation for the Intel based hardware.
Here is the link to the now dubbed 'Legacy Hardware'
    http://developer.apple.com/legacy/mac/library/documentation/Hardware/hardware2.h tml
Click on a HTML or PDF link for any model to view detailed hardware info.

OK. So now you'd program it using the Configuration Wizard in ACR-View and
    the program editor.
Which Parker ATC distributor did you purchase this through?

Hi thanks for the reply. We got it connected via Ethernet now. We had to
change the IP address of "local area connection" on the computer to
192.168.10.1 for it to see the controller. So now that it is connecting to
the controller, it keeps saying that the drives are all disabled. I have
one drive connected to the controller in the Axis 0 port.

Hi thanks for the reply.  Yes I have used the ACR view to specify which inputs to use before.  I used input 0 for the positive limit, input 1 for the negative limit, and input 2 for the home switch.  However, when using ACR view the switch kept displaying that the switch had been tripped when nothing was pressing against it.  I would also try pressing on the mechanical switch to see at least if the value would change but to no avail.

  • Is it possible to run my Labview software in Windows 7

    Hi there,
I currently use Labview 8.2.1 and Labview DSC 8.2.1.
But within a short time I want to switch from Windows XP to Windows 7.
    My question now is:
Is it possible to switch to Windows 7 without any problems?
Will the Labview software still run under Windows 7 without problems, or do I have to download new drivers or other software?
I hope to get a reaction soon.

    Hi Cheese,
Official LabVIEW support/compatibility with Windows 7 is explained under the following articles.
National Instruments Product Compatibility for Microsoft Windows 7
    Windows Version Compatibility with LabVIEW
LabVIEW Module and Toolkit Compatibility Information
On the forums, people seemed to have mixed reviews about older versions of LabVIEW with newer versions of Windows 7. Another piece of food for thought is Windows 7 (some versions) contain a "Windows XP Mode", which MAY allow you to run this version of LabVIEW in 7 however as the above articles show this is not the supported version. Essentially the XP mode allows virtualisation of XP OS on Windows 7. I've not personally tried it with this version of LabVIEW, but it's just an idea!
    Windows Virtual PC
Upgrading to the latest version of LabVIEW will work and is fully supported.
    Hope this may help
