(Lack of) Service

Just got of the phone after 45 minutes + with Verizon billing and what a fiasco.  Service in the area of my mother's house was down beginning in the first part of November.  I did not report her phone our right away (my bad) as I thought it would be corrected shortly.  Turns out they were running FIOS in the area and when they "flipped the switch" service was completely cut to many, intermittent for others and had no affect on still others.  Finally on Nov. 25th I reported the phone out and it was finally fixed on Dec. 7th.  At first I could  only get credit for Nov. 25 - 28 when they said it was initially fixed, but it wasn't.  I have the Verizon tech on the phone answering machine on the 7th reporting the repair had been made!  So, after much sometimes agitated discussion, the result;.for the 13 days of confirmed no service was a credit of only $11.38!!    If you can get away from Verizon do so ASAP!  And if you are stuck with them, report any phone outage as soon as you know about it!  I expected better since with today's technology they know better  But Verizon's use of technology is only touted by them when it serve their end, not their customers.  There is more to this story but time and patience do not permit. . Run from Verizon!

Rich, welcome to the forum,
good question!
This is a peer to peer forum, not an official support channel, so you need to rely on members offering their opinions and advice. Some Lenovo employees do follow the boards and help out where and when they can.
This board, A & M ThinkCentre, is not one of the "hottest" boards if you compare the number of posts to those on other boards. I hope you can agree with this.
I personally don't know NetVista systems at all well and don't have any answers for you I can however point you to ThinkPads.com where you may also be able to find assistance in their IBM or Lenovo Desktops/Workstations/ThinkStations only board.
In pointing you outside this forum, I'm not trying to overt a possible nasty post, but rather pointing you to a possible source for a solution. I hope you will continue visiting here in order to help assist others with your knowledge and of course to ask further questions.
Regards

Only Apple Account Security could help at this point. You can try calling Apple Support in Canada - you'll have to find one of the several ways, such as Skype, to call an 800 number from outside of the relevant country - and ask for Account Security and see if they can help. Or you can find a friend who speaks Chinese and ask them to help you talk to Apple Support in China. There are really no other options that I know of.
Note, by the way, that these are user-to-user support forums. You aren't speaking with Apple when you post here.

  • Poor or Lack of service on both BT customer servic...

Basically I lost Broadband speed not long after they installed the fibre-optic cabinet at the top of my street.. It's went from 8.5 Meg to just about 5 Meg.
I called about it on the 23rd September and since then I’ve had 4 engineers out about 10 operator hangups on me (and then not calling me back)when I was trying to get my broadband sorted... at least 8 promised call backs that never occurred including 3 different failed call backs on the 3rd or 4th of November ( I had 3 on the same day as I called back again when the person who promised to call me back in a time period didn't only for the next operator not to phone me back either)
Today I waited in for My fifth engineer which turned out to be a no show from BT with no phone call to let me know. To say the least I’m well pi$$ed off with BT's attitude. I was so pi$$ed off I lodged a separate complaint about their poor service with a manager on the 2/11/11 and was promised a reply in less than 48 hours... I’m still waiting for that reply.
What also gets me wound up was that when the first two engineers didn't fix or even find my problem and I phoned up yet again to see what was happening next I got told a third engineer would be calling out.. but this one was a special broadband engineer that would fix it for sure this time... but not for another 8 days!!! What were the first two engineers then???? Anyway when the third engineer did come out 10/11/11 he did seem very knowledgeable... He tested inside like the rest but with some longer tests... and went to check pole and cabinet... he was able to tell me that I was getting really good speed at the cabinet but was losing it between the cabinet and the pole, I should say i'm 150m tops from the cabinet.
Two things then bugged me... the first two engineers had said they had been at the cabinet and checked it out... so what were they doing that they couldn't find what seems to be such a simple fault that could be found by anyone using simple fault diagnosing techniques... and what are BT doing wasting my time and their money sending badly trained so called engineers out in the first place?
Anyway back to the third( excellent engineer ) he said he tried to find me another pair of cables on the pole but there were none free all were being used... the man spent a good 3 hours at my job while the first two spent about 30-40 mins tops. He said he would report the fault back and true to his word the forth engineer was sent out on the 11/11/11 to get me another pair of cables, that engineer colin“said” he changed my pair for another... but I was getting the exact same speed as I was with my original pair which makes me think he didn't change anything. I said the third engineer had said there were no more pairs to use and that a new pair would maybe need pulled in... the forth engineer said he was only out to chance my pair over nothing else... so I would have to phone up BT again.
I phoned BT and was disgusted I was having to wait till the 20/11/11 to get the next engineer out to replace the pair of cables from the cabinet to my pole.... I complained that this was a disgrace and I wanted a much sooner date after a lot of complaining I got it shifted till today the 18/11/11... I was still not happy but they said it was the best they could do... so I just had to sit and wait.
Today came the appointment was between 8:00 and 13:00. as I had heard nothing by 11:30 I decided to phone BT to see if there was any problem.. I asked the person to check was the engineer still coming out and he said he did and the engineer was definitely coming. I phoned again at 13:25 after the no show and asked to speak to a senior manager... it took about 10mins but I got a manager Sririam and I asked what was the excuse and why did no one contact me to let me know... he went away for about 5 mins and came back telling me “Lack Of Resources” the next quickest date is the 21/11/11 and I have to yet again put up with that and another day off work to wait in for them.
I have asked the Senior Manager Sririam to find out why I wasn't contacted and why the person at 11:30 told me they had checked and the engineer was sill coming... he said he will call me to let me know... what’s the bets that's yet another failed call back.
I've tried my hardest to talk to someone more senior than these managers in India but I can't seem to get anywhere the lack of response to my complaint ref: VOL011-********** That's open from the 2/11/11 and my further poor treatment since then has made me think i'm just getting lip service.
I've searched on line for hours trying to find a number to escalate my complaint to but no joy...i did find this page
    http://www.btplc.com/Inclusion/BTSign/btsign.asp?id=20
but when i call the number on it it is no longer in use
Do any of you know who I can can talk to on the phone to escalate  resolve both my broadband fault and my lack of response to my complaint? Is there a high level complaints department and if so how do I talk to them?
Thanks in advance for your inputs

  • Unable to use my iPhone 3G because I got it updated! It was jailbroken because of lack of service.

Why is Apple not able to provide services to those people who love Apple Products like iPhone to those who are transferred from their location of work to other countries? How come an Apple iPhone 'dealer' is not able to give services to an iPhoner even when he is really in need of service?
Was it a mistake that I bought an iPhone 3G from the US and now am not able to use it in India, just because I am no more tethered to AT&T? Has Apple some responsibility to those who own their products?

Honestly what happened is, the dealer did not know what he was telling me, and I liked the phone, and I bought it. I had asked several people at apple stores in the US and they had said there would be no problem, until someone mentioned it to me that Apple will not unlock it even if I am on transfer. After I was transferred, I wrote to Apple about the change of my address.
Now that I am not able to use the phone since yesterday is causing me a lot of problems.
Anyway I hope I will wait and see if someone would be able to help me to find a place where I can get a proper SIM and use the phone.
    Thank you.

  • Lack of Service in Camp Pendleton, CA!!!!!

I am not sure how the rest of Verizon users feel, but for me, when I am paying nearly $200 dollars a month for 2 phones, I expect a certain level of satisfaction with the service provided. The issue is that when you work and live on Camp Pendleton and have Verizon, you are bound to get bad service and Verizon is not the only one to blame. I seems that (and this is just speculation/ rumor) that the DOD has some sort of contract with ATT, thus allowing ATT more towers in the area/ on base, while other carriers are not afforded the same opportunity to provide service. I think that the blame goes to Verizon because they do not for-warn customers about the service here, to mitigate issues of complaints and cancellation requests, shouldn't this take place? Personally, I hate ATT and had them before switching to Verizon, furthermore, when I did live off base the service was much better (its like Pendleton is a black hole). But I cannot deal with both my work, home and commute to and from being un-reliable places for phone usage. Just the other day 911 had to be called for my 2 year old daughter and I was not able to provide adequate information to them over the phone because of poor reception, (this was kind of the tipping point for me). As I said from the start, I do not put all of the blame on Verizon, however, there is reason to blame them for allowing this to happen. Hopefully, I am let out of my contract (Due to end in September) early so that I can pursue another carrier that receives an adequate level of reception here. Good luck to the rest of you that have these issues. And to anyone from Verizon viewing this, for reference my ticket # is >>removed<<.
    Thanks,

No coverage in an opensignal coverage map is not necessarily "more accurate and detailed". It CAN be if there are multiple users have mapped the area and provided data. The map does not indicate whether they have even received any coverage information for the area in question. That is the problem with maps such as this. Unless you are willing to provide data to opensignal.com, you can't possibly be sure the map is "more accurate and detailed."
See my post on one of your other threads for a brief explanation.

  • LACK OF SERVICE FROM VERIZON IN SUPPORT OF MY NO DIAL TONE ON MY LAND PHONE

CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ONLINE SERVICE HAS BEEN AWFUL IN TRYING TO CORRECT MY "NO DIAL TONE" PROBLEM.
CUSTOMER SERVICE KEEPS DISCONNECTING MY CALLS AND ONLINE VERIZON SEEMS TO BE ONLY CONCERNED WITH FIOS.   I'VE TRIED ALL THE TROUBLESHOOTING AT HOME AS VERIZON RECOMMENDS.   HOW DO I GET A REPAIR MAN TO MY HOUSE?

  • BT lack of service

I am writing in behalf of a friend who just moved from Edinburgh to Glenluce and is unable to get satisfactory service from BT. They were promised that a router package would be delivered a week ago today. No package. After calling, they were told the request for service had been cancelled (without speaking to the new customer) because the previous occupant had an account with BT that for some reason had not been cancelled. The previous occupant was an elderly woman who may either have died or been moved to a nursing home. The account was re-activated and the router package was promised for this coming Monday, March 24. Today, my friend received a message that the service would be delayed until April 8 because they need to send a technician out to check the lines. Once more, a call was made and the account was AGAIN cancelled and service won't be available until April 11.
Now, it is overwhelmingly obvious that there is an existing line, BT COULD have required proof of new residence from my friend in order to proceed, but instead have shown themselves to be the worst kind of service providers ever and cannot fall over themselves in the least to provide service. To wait a month (which is what it will end up being) is unnaceptable by any standards and it is really TOO BAD that there is no-one else that can provide service.
Remind me NOT to ask for BT service when I move back to the UK. I really do hope that I will have a choice.
    Shame on you BT.

    Hi Galaetea,
Thanks for the post and welcome to the forum.  Please extend my apologies to your friend for the poor experience they have endured so far with BT.  Its difficult for me to comment on what is going on with these orders, or in fact, what the problem is without taking a peek myself.  I would be keen to get to the bottom of this.
Could you possibly drop me an email with your friend details so that we could get in touch.  Of course only with your friend permission  but if you could provide a contact number then we could give him a shout and work together to get something sorted.
Please drop me an email.  You will find my contact link in my profile (SeanD), under the about me section.

  • Lack of Service or Support

My phone line went dead between 8:30 AM and 2:00 PM on Saturday Sep 21, 2013.  Next step is to talk to ignorant machines and no way to discuss with a live person....To manipulate between the website is outrageous and moronic at best.  The service call "will be between 8 AM and 8 PM on Mon 9-23.  No way to verify it correctly.  I get the confirmation on the website and it states 9-24 3:00 PM as completion time.  No explanation or other information available.  You attempt to confirm it and it takes forever on the computer.
As a shareholder of Verizon and some one who pays in excess of $300 a month to the Company You would thinks the **bleep** could do a better job of truly helping their customers...Who cares about Vodaphone and the $140 Bn price tag.

  • Frustrated with lack of service

I want to express my frustrations and disappointment with Verizon personnel. Back in October I requested to have my services transferred because I was moving. I was only able to request my phone service and Internet since the new area did not provide verizon cable. A new box for the phone needed to be installed and when it was I was told I should call mt phone company because according to the test u had no phone service. This brought me back to the fact that I was having phone issues where I used to live and even had to purchase a new fax machine thinking that was the reason I was unable to fax. I called Verizon in October only to have to call back because they could not assist me and I had to speak to the financial dept. I called back and I was informed that the phone number I wax providing was assigned to a different provider. I was te to call back again during normal business hours as they could not help me. Again I call and speak to someone named Elliot who informed me "Rock ticket" would need to be submitted so my two account could be consolidated and they would try to get the phone number back as well. At this moment I have two separate accounts. Instead of just having the services transferred, I was given a whole new account number for the new place and I am still incurring charges on the original account for phone services I have not had nor been able to use for the past several months. I called verizon once again yesterday to follow up since I received a text my phone services were going to be suspended for non-payment. Instead of getting a resolution to this headache I need up having to pay do I wouldn't be sent to collection. The original account at this to time accumulated to $273 but the rep was kind enough to give me $100 credit. As you can see I am extremely upset because I'm paying for services I don't have. The rep informed me that obviously I don't have phone service because if my non-payment but the would be restored once I paid. I have checked again this morning and there's still is NO phone service. The recording states the number is terminated or not in service. My frustration is that during my last phone call to Verizon I was told pretty much I am responsible for amount since the gave no record of me calling that I have an issue with my phone service. He also advised me not to keep calling because there is a lot of confusion. Now if I wasn't following up there next step would have been collection. I have been calling and following up since October and I'm still incurring charges for a service I don't have. What else can I do since they're not willing to transfer me to a supervisor nor are they resolving this in a timely manner?

  • Lack of service Everett Washington

Is there something going on in South Everett/Boeing plant service? Up until a couple of weeks ago service was consistent, now in the inner Boeing buildings service is non existent unless you're right by a window.  The factory itself has excellent service.  What changed?

Thanks for the additional info SeattleRich. Those individuals will need to contact us also and inform us of the issues they are having with service. We need a phone type, account information, and steps taken to try and fix the problem from those individuals. This will help us as we send that information to our tech support team. You can send us a private message here, on twitter, or facebook so we can gather information to start the investigation. I look forward to hearing from you.

  • Can I cancel a 2yr plan due to lack of service?

    Hi,
I recently (over this past summer) updated my phone and plan with Verizon.  I'm from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and I got the phone in Pittsburgh.  It is a Droid Eris and very nice.  I got it and a month later I moved to Olympia, Washington for school.  Since moving there, I have hardly been able to use it.  The service is terrible and its been impossible to keep in touch with my family, I wasn't even able to call them over Thanksgiving.  I'm also having to pay extra money so I can use the internet on my phone, but I can't even access the internet let alone make phone calls.  It's really frustrating.  I can't use my phone to keep in touch with everyone in Pittsburgh-and if I am ever in trouble I wouldn't be able to call for help, which makes me really nervous.  Is there a way I can cancel my 2yr contract?  Would I have to pay a fee-and how much would that cost?  Would I have to go to the Verizon store I bought the phone from to do this or would I have to do this in Washington-where I am now living and having the problems?  Help!

Yes, Verizon no longer waives ETFs due to moving to an area without service, so you will probably have to pay an Early Termination Fee.  Since you have a smartphone, it will probably be $350 less $10 for each month of service you have completed.  The Customer Service rep you contact about cancelling will be able to tell you the exact amount.  Would I have to go to the Verizon store I bought the phone from to do this or would I have to do this in Washington-where I am now living and having the problems? You can do it over the phone, or at a corporate Verizon store.  Help!

  • Suprised at lack of service from Apple!

When I logged onto this form I thought my problem would be addressed. But this is not the case. Where is Apple? I am surprised and dismayed that there is no response from Apple. Is this the norm? Does Apple not help out here?
My issue is this error message:
    Safari can’t open the page
    “https://support.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/ACAuthWeb.…79ae23&path=/
    login.jspa%3FsuccessURL%3D%252Findex.jspa” because it couldn’t

I did the following and it solved the problem.

    I HAVE THE ANSWER EVERYONE!
Alright. Print this off and to take care of the issue.
Insert your Macintosh OS X Install Disc 1 into your computer. Now restart your computer. When you hear the start up chime, hold the "C" key until you see the spinning jog wheel. Let go of the "C" key and you will be brought to an install window. Select English as your main language and continue through the process. When it asks you where you would like to install Macintosh OS X, select the Macintosh HD and then select options. Do JUST and Archive and Install. This will take a while, but once it is done, it will resolve all certificate issues including SSL in mail for e-mails. After this, perform all of the software updates on your computer.
Note: This WILL NOT wipe your hard drive.
Have fun and good luck everyone. And thank you everyone for the help.

On one hand, honesty is so important to me ! Mac deserves many points for this ! On the other hand, I am very disappointed about this poor performance. There are times when I need to have an E-mail within 30 seconds, and AOL, e.g., does that, with NO unavailable time. What is wrong at Mac, and how can it be fixed, and will it be fixed? I have waited about 3 or 4 minutes for an E-mail to arrive from my AOL. Will this be improved?

There are times when I need to have an E-mail within 30 seconds,
and AOL, e.g., does that, with NO unavailable time.
There is not an incoming mail server or email account provider anywhere or anyhow that does not have an occasional down time for some of their customers.
This can and does happen with AOL - it just hasn't occurred at the same time or was very brief.
I have waited about 3 or 4 minutes for an E-mail to arrive from my AOL.
This is not determined 100% by the incoming mail server. Electronic messages do not take a straight line from the sender's SMTP server to the recipient's incoming mail server. There are usually a number of stops and minor delays can occur anywhere along the way. Although electronic messages are usually delivered almost instantly, there is no guarantee this will occur.
If you don't mind me asking, what is so important that receiving an email within 3-4 minutes vs 30 seconds makes so much difference - especially if sent or forwarded from your AOL email account to your .Mac account?
Since this is a user to user help forum only that is provided and moderated by Apple, no one here can answer your question. If you are involved in life saving events that demand all electronic messages be delivered after being sent within 30 seconds or less without question (which there are no email account providers who can guarantee this), you should cancel or not renew your .Mac account at the time of renewal especially since a .Mac account is intended for personal use only.

  • Moving Home / Lack of Customer Service / Cancellat...

I write to express my complete astonishment and disgust with the level of service BT has offered to me as a valued long standing customer.
I have been a customer of BT for approximately 4 years, taking out a phone line, unlimited broadband, BT vision and Sky Sports, amounting to a considerable charge of around £42.00 per month. I have used these products constantly during this period and have been very happy with the service.
In mid February 2012 I phoned to inform BT that I was moving home shortly and would like to switch all service to a new address. I was told that I needed to call back when my current line had been taken over by the new tenant, at which time I could then move my services.
On Thursday 1st March I rang BT to inform them that my line had been taken over by the new tenant and that I now wished to move my contract over. I was informed that I needed to take out a new contract which would then waive any connection charges. I was more than happy with this and asked to set up the new account. The lady at BT who I was speaking to informed me that after running a line check there was an issue with the new property in respect of the supply to it. I informed her that the previous tenant in the new property had a BT phone line with all BT sockets but had obviously cancelled it on moving out. She informed me she would run some more tests and ring me back the following day on the Friday 2nd March. BT did not contact me at any time on the Friday.
On Saturday 3rd March I rang BT back very disgruntled with the lack of service offered. I spoke to a gentleman who checked my account and system notes and stated he didn't know why I hadn't been contacted back. He informed me that I could take out a new account and waive the connection fees. He run a check on the line but informed me that it was coming back as a black line, and that he would need to book an engineer to come out to the property to check the connection. He was very helpful in his nature and suggested that I plugged a phone into the BT sockets and dialled 17070 to check for a line and number. He stated that as it was the weekend he couldn't book an engineer till Monday but he would personally phone me back by 12pm on Monday 5th March to check with me regards any current phone line and if necessary book the engineer.
At 1.00pm on Monday 5th March I had not received any phone call from BT. I can't say that I was surprised given BT's lack of customer service over the previous few days. I proceeded to phone BT again at my expense on my mobile phone to be greeted by a very helpful gentleman who again took me through the same details as previously had been stated. I informed him of my disappointment of BT's customer service, to which he apologised and tried to set up a new account for me. On attempting to set up all my services I was told that it kept failing on the BT system when it reached the broadband page. He suggested that I set up the phone line to instigate the new account and once live I could then upgrade my account to include broadband, BT vision and Sky Sports.
Although not happy with this I accepted the proposal to which he then attempted to book an engineer. He promptly informed me that the next engineer available would be on Monday 26th March 2012, a full 3 weeks delay!! He then informed me the broadband could then be initiated but with an additional lead time of a further 5-7 days. Thus bringing the whole episode up to a total of 4 weeks, not including the time already wasted by BT in the previous week.
I proceeded to inform the gentleman that this was an unacceptable amount of time coupled with the inconvenience and lack of service, and that I would now cancel my contract with BT.
After coming off the phone to BT, I proceeded to go onto the internet where within 10mins I had set up an account with Plusnet for broadband. I received a text message 2 hours later from Plusnet to inform me that my phone line was now live and gave details of my new phone number together with delivery details of my new home hub and an expected broadband start date within 3-5 days. Now that's quality service.
I have since received a final bill from BT stating cancellation charges of £61.13 to be paid by 22nd March 2012 and also a returns envelope to post back all the equipment.
Please can BT inform me whether this is an acceptable standard of service that a long standing customer expects?
Please can you inform me why BT have difficulty in moving my account to a new address when a new provider can initiate within hours?
How can BT charge me a cancellation fee when I have attempted to continue my service but BT could not offer the service within a reasonable time frame?
    Under the Supply of Goods & Service Act 1982, please inform me if BT believe they have met the requirements of the legislation;
    - That BT have carried out the service with reasonable care and skill
    - That BT have carried out the work in reasonable time
    - That BT ensure the work will be carried out at a reasonable cost
I am totally disgusted with BT and the level of service offered, the inconvenience caused, the wasted costs and time I have incurred trying to move my service and the overall unprofessional nature of your business.
I have sent a personal letter to Ian Livingston - CEO of BT  -  can't wait for the comical reply to that!!
Update 13th March 2012: Just received an obnoxious call from BT Customer Services stating the cancellation charges of £61.13 will stand as per an auto renewal contract which expires in August, even though BT cannot offer the service I require in a reasonable amount of time! Is it acceptable to wait 4 weeks for Broadband when I am an existing customer?? I think legislation, OFCOM & Ombudsman are firmly on my side! Great service BT!!
