Hi form Switzerland
My new iPhone 3G S was activated by a italien speaking reseller...
I speak german...
so I changed all language settings to german...
everything looks fine, only the menu-bar of the apple-store (down in the page) still is in italien...
I found no way to change this...

It's probably using your friend's Apple Store account.
"To modify or change your account information such as Apple ID, payment information, or billing address, tap on your account name located at the bottom of the page once you are signed into your account. When prompted, tap View Account."

Problem with language settings

Hi,
I've just bought a Nokia Lumia 520 and my boyrfriend has one too. His language settings are all ok, but mine are totally messed up. I set the language to English (as it's my native language) but the country is set to Belgium (keyboard and stuff: Dutch). All fine up to there. But my internet is all in French (refuses English sites, at once sets them to French) and things like my Office settings (Skydrive) and user manual are all still in French. I can't find any info on the internet or in the user manual to help me solve this.
Anyone got any ideas? I'm so annoyed right now I might end up killing my phone.

Thank you so much I changed all three options to UK/English and now it works fine (the French has turned into Dutch, not English, but that's a-ok with me).

PP 2007 - line break bug - not solvable with language settings

I have somewhat the same problem with my Powerpoint 2007 as this guy:

Except it doesn't only occur with a comma. When I write in a textbox or a shape (speech bubble etc), Powerpoint sometimes forces a line break in the middle of a line (not in the middle of a word) without any reason whatsoever. It occurs
out of the blue, suddenly there is a line break in the middle of a line and I can't do anything about it. It looks like it turns on word wrap in the middle of the textbox, shape or whatever I am writing in.
Part of the problem can be solved using the language settings->japanese->allow latin text to wrap in the middle of a word. When I ran this procedure, the checkbox was unchecked, and when I checked it, the line breaks disappeared,
just as I wanted. BUT: now I am stuck with the another problem, namely that powerpoint wraps the text in the middle of the word which naturally breaks the word into two at the end of each line.
The only solution to this problem is doing the language settings->japanese-trick, as far as I can see after searching the web. And if I do that, if I uncheck the Allow latin...-box I get the same problem I had in the first place,
with the line break in the middle of the line.
I hope someone can help me with this.

I have raised a bug on this issue and I am actively looking into it.

After upgrading to IOS 8 on my iPad I constantly get a temperature warning despite the fact it is cool. Did not happen with IOS 7. I have restored the iPad to factory settings with the problem not resolved.

Issue with language settings and units

Hello All,
We are facing the issue where since yetsreday days our language sttings are not working anymore.
The characteristics which were loading fine before suddenly started giving error and now there are lot of issue with the special characters.
Since we have data in almost all the european languages and with the entries from there language specific keyboard therefore list of chars now cannot be maintained in the RSKC.
We did a lot of verification and there was no changes done and no transport related to language settings was done.
The settings maintained before was ALL_CAPITAL and it was working fine till yesterday.
We have raised an OSS message with SAP but still wanted to know if anyone is aware of the reason.

Getting "error reading settings" with the service profile manager in Lion server OS. Why and what can I do to solve problem?

I have also had the 'Error reading settings' problem in Profile Manager, despite trying everything in the discussions and clean reinstalls (which work for a little while only).
It seems that various different fixes work for some people but not others; and the underlying cause of the problem has not been resolved.

Try restarting your WiFi router by removing power to it for 30 seconds.

Use Unicode (UTF-8) for those characters.
Then you will always be sure that they are displayed correctly.

3.1EA2 Old bug with German language settings still exists

In the past I wrote several times about a bug in SQL Developer when running in German language mode. This bug is still not fixed in 3.1 EA2:
In new folders for user definded reports only the options "Kopieren" and "Speichern unter ..." ('Copy' and 'Cave as') are available, when SQL-Deverloper runs in German language mode. Other options like "Bearbeiten, Neuer Ordner, Neuer Bericht, Ausschneiden, Einfügen, Löschen" (Edit, New Folder, New Report, Cut, Paste, Delete) are missing. A workaround is to force language to English with the line
AddVMOption -Duser.language=en
in sqldeveloper.conf

The bug still exists in 30EA3.

Default language settings in SAP Integration Kit?

Hi everybody,
I've the following problem:
If I create a report with the SAP Integration Kit (create new report from a query) I get a prompt where I can type in (System Number, User, Password and LANGUAGE). If I now choose as language u201CEnglishu201D and create a report, save it and open it in crystal again, everything is still fine. But if I go to refresh the report, I get a prompt where I can choose the SAP BW and type in the System Number, User and Password but not the LANGUAGE. After the refresh the names of the fields are still in English but the data is now in German (or just the technical names, depends on the language settings in the query).
For me it looks like that the language settings of the refresh are by default in crystal is set to German, but the software is English. I didnu2019t find any way to change the default language to English or save it in the report.
I already tried to change the language/regional/keyboard settings of my machine and also tried to change the language in the crystal formula field u201Clanguagecode%u201D.
But even if I could have a unique change in some system settings, it really will not help me, because I have some queries in German and some in English, depending on the actual BW system.
If the SAP Integration Kit gives me the possibility to choose the language during the creation of the report it should then remember the choice!?

6021 Menu Map - language settings

Hi, I'm setting up a new 6021 - have copied contacts into it, put the local (UAE) SIM in it and now the language is Arabic. I've downloaded the user guide, it says "Select Menu > Settings > Phone settings and from the following options: Phone language — to set the display language of your phone. If you select Automatic the phone selects the language according to the information on the SIM card." Hmm. What it doesn't tell me is the menu numbers, nor is there anywhere in the manual a map of menu items. I can't read Arabic. (I've searched the forum for '6021 language') Could someone please check their 6021 and tell me the menu numbers (Settings, down X for phone, down Y for language, down Z for English)? Thanks in advance, H Once, every phone manual had a menu map - didn't know how crucial they were till I moved to a non-English speaking country.

Nokia REALLY need to get their act together on this one.
I have a new 7360 - in hong kong. The guy in the shop showed my wife that it has english language installed. Then when we take the battery out to insert the SIM card it defaults back to Traditional Chinese.
and nowhere - but nowhere - is there a simple instruction "press menu 1,2,3 to change the language to XXX".
I mean really - they sell phones with multiple language support this problem must come up hundreds of times daily.
I mean think about it - the reason you want to change a language is because you cant read the one that the phone is displaying!

[BO XI 3.0] - Strange behavior regarding language settings

I found strange behavior BOE in infoview portal. We have Desktop intelligence documents published in repository and when we open report (first time) in infoview we have right format for date and numbers e.g. dd.mm.yyyy, 123.123,00.
When we close this report and open once again the format is en-US e.g. mm/dd/yyyy 123,123.00 and this is wrong. We log out and log in and open this report but no change.
If we restart services in cmc (deski services) then the first time is report ok and when we open again this report the same error.
SW:
Windows server 2003 sp2 - english (regional settings - slovenian)
BOE premium ( BO XI R 3.0 => the same problem in BO XI 3.1)
CMS database => Oracle 10gR2 (nsl lang SLOVENIAN_SLOVENIA.EE8MSWIN1250)
Language settings in infoview we check => use browser locale and slovenian

Try the following option.
Find the file i8ln.xml in the location
"<install directory of BO>\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\win32_x86\scripts\"
Take a backup of the file and make the follwing changes.
Find the following code in the file
activate_languages>
<state value="0"/>
<State value="0" cs_lang="Bulgarian"/>
<State value="0" orig_lang="" cible_lang="Bulgarian"/>*
<State value="0"/>
</activate_languages>
Replace it with:
<activate_languages>
<state value="0"/>
<State value="1" cs_lang="English (Australian)"/>
<State value="1" orig_lang="" cible_lang="English (Australian)"/>*
<State value="1"/>
</activate_languages>
Save the file.
Restart your Desktop Intelligence servers. It might take a bit of time to pick up the changes.
Note: If you start Deski after this change, and go to "Tools > Options", you will see a disabled language button with "English(....)" written on it.

Hello, I originally bought my computer in CA in the U.S with the hard drive 10.4.7. I came here to live with my mom for a while in mexico due to personal resons and while I was here I decided to buy the newer hard drive for my mac which is the 10.7.4 But when they installed it all the default programs they installed such as "word"Is all in spanish And I want to know how I can change the lanuage to english? Also when I press Command Option P & R it'sall in spanish and I dont quite understand it. So if you can pleae guide me how I can change the language settings to all this? Could I do this ALL at once? PLEASE HELP ME sorta desperate? Haha, Thanks.

All Apple stuff is multilingual. You just go to system preferences/language & text/language and move English to the top of the list and then restart or login logout.
Stuff made by MS is often only in one language only, so if you want a different one you have to get another copy. For problems with their apps, ask in their forums:

Make sure you tell people what version of MS apps you are using, as there are lots of them and it makes a difference.
