Last update of Adobe Flash Player for Safari

Adobe flash player last update downloaded and installed but still it doesn't work with Safari. Pls advice as I don't see Adobe in the list of my programms. I followed this instruction http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5655 and it was successfully installed

If you're sure you've installed the latest version of Flash, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 5.
1. If you're only having trouble with YouTube videos, sign in to your YouTube account and load this page. You may see a link with the text "Leave the HTML5 Trial." If so, click that link.
2. If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then from the menu bar select
 ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser.
3. Triple-click the line below to select it:
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open. Delete the following item, or anything with a similar name, if present:
Flash Player (failing).plugin
You may be prompted for your login password.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
4. Re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from this page:
Adobe - Install Adobe Flash Player
Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
5. If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked Enable plug-ins.
6. Select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.
7. In the Safari preference window, select
Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
Close the window. Then select
 ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.

problems installing or running Adobe® Flash® Player for safari when trying to install Adobe Flash Player.pkg it asks to quit Dash Board client then brings up Exclamation mark up and quits install ??????

Adobe Flash is pretty much a 32-bit application. You may be able to fix the problem by going into your Applications folder, and right-clicking on Safari. There is a check box that will allow you to run Safari in 32-bit mode. Try that and see if Flash works in Safari.
I have retired my iMac, and have an HP now, but a friend helped me with the same problem when I upgraded to Snow Leopard. My PC seems to have just one 64-bit browser, that being Internet Explorer. I am using IE9 Beta in 64-bit, and the Beta for Flash "Square" in 64-bit seems to work fine. See link below:

  • How come I need Adobe Flash Player for Safari

I have the latest Macbook Pro and I guess the latest version of Safari.  So why doesn't a current version of Safari play videos on the internet? Why must I download Adobe Flash Player to watch videos on the interne? I can watch a few videos on Youtube, but most of the time I need to switch over to Google Chrome to watch.  I don't need Flash Player with that browser. Can't understand why Safari needs it and Chrome doesn't.

I am switching between Safari to Chrome so I can watch videos but it's becoming a pain. But I've also noticed that some websites have a different look in Chrome. It's as if Chrome is better than Safari. What a bummer. Apple would do itself a favor to offer the best browser since, to me, Apple is the best computer.
I guess I will just have to give in and download Flash if I want to use Safari. The reason I'm reluctant is because on my previous MacBook I always got prompted to download the 'latest Flash player" even though I had the latest Flash. It was such a nuisance. Was hoping with my latest purchase of this computer I'd be all up to date.
Thank you all for your replies.

  • I cannot watch videos after installing the latest version of adobe flash player for safari 6.1

Ive unistalled and reinstalled versions of adobe flashplayer to fix the problem, cleared computer of cookies, allowed plug ins, and tried various other options to get videos to work. So far it keeps telling me to install latest version of adobe when i already have. how do i fix this????

Try relaunching Safari and/or logging out/into your Mac.
Then browse to this Adobe page to verify you have the latest version of Flash installed -> http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html

I reset my apple ID password here on the website, but my computer isn't recognizing my new password. what should I do? I just need to update my adobe flash player but it keeps asking me for my password but won't take my new password I just updated.

"If you've forgotten the Apple ID password how did you log in to make the last post?"
Exactly! The password I used to log on here and write my post I figured was the same Apple ID password I would use to reset my computer login password. But my computer isn't recognizing it as the correct password so it wont let me update my login password. I have 2 user accounts on my computer.
As far as the link you provided, I already looked to that for help earlier. It states:
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Users & Groups, click the lock to unlock it, then provide an administrator name and password. Select a user, then click Reset Password.
I did these steps, but I don't remember my admin password. The question is: How do I reset my admin password so I can reset my log in password.
Is my admin password the same password I use to log onto this website to post questions? If so, like I said previously, I already reset that password and my computer isnt recognizing it.

  • Problem updating Adobe Flash Player with Safari

    Hello!
I'm trying to update Adobe Flash Player using Safari on a Macbook Pro with OS X 10.10.1 but every time I download the update the file looks like this:
and when I try to start the installation this window appears:
I tried several different download links but non of them worked. I also uninstalled the Adobe Flash Player and tried to reinstall it but then I have the same problem. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? Thank you!

For some reason that I have yet to determine, people with Matlab installed start getting .mdlp extensions appended to their downloaded files.  That's what happened here.  Rename the file to remove .mdlp (so that it ends in .dmg), then double-click the file and it should work.

  • Adobe flash player for my iphone 3gs 32mb please let safari accept it!

adobe flash player for my iphone 3gs 32mb please let safari accept it!

While I'm painfully aware of the lack of a version of Adobe Flash Player for the iPhone, more and more Flash-based web home pages are not accessible to the iPhone. I also understand that Flash Player is not compatible with Apple's 'vision' for iPhone Applications. The problem we have is this increasing exclusion of Flash-based web sites and if what I understand about Apple's policy on iPhone Apps is accurate, then we will never have access to these sites on an unmodified iPhone. I can see that one of the problems is that Adobe Flash Player competes with the YouTube Player and possibly with iTunes movies.
Unless the web pages have a link for iPhones or re-direct iPhones accessing those pages to a non-Flash version of the web page, it seems likely that we are basically, well...screwed. Anyone have a different take on this?
Do we need an Apple-Adobe intervention? Perhaps over a nice hot mocha latté in Seattle...

If you already have an older version of Flash Player, open the Preference pane and select Check Now... under the Update portion under the General tab:
You shouldn't have to install a new version from the website (I'm not even sure if you can) if you've already installed Flash Player.

  • I'm getting a message to install an update to Adobe Flash player.

I've heard that a virus can infect Macs using a phony update to Adobe Flash Player.  Right now I am getting a warning to install an update to Adobe Flash player, but my Software Update check indicates no current updates for Safari.  Yet my Safari is telling me that I need to update and it's blocking any Flash clips from use.  Can this be on the level?

For both posters, this is the central Adobe link to the latest Flash Player installer:
    http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
Download and run the installer. Will need to quit all browsers while doing so. No need to "uninstall", the installer will get rid of the old code automatically. As of this writing (25 Aug 2012, 1200 CDT), the current Flash version for Intel Macs is 11.4.402.265
Afterwards, you can test your functioning Flash installation by visiting:
    http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
If the cube bounces about, Flash is OK. And lastly, you can configure a bunch of Flash Player settings here:

  • Adobe Flash Player for Mac 10.5.8

I have been using Adobe Flash Player for ages (for Hulu, etc.) and I tried to update it today.
After that I was unable to open it.  It keep showing the message:
The application Install Adobe Flash Player quit unexpectedly
I tried to find out what I should do and followed some directions shown to solve this, such as:
    - Uninstall Flash Player
    - trashing Flash Player plug-in (wasn't there, or couldn't find it)
    - trashing Flash Player Install Manager (wasn't there, or couldn't find it)
According to Adobe's instructions, prior to installing Flash Player, I should open Safari Preferences, Security and then enable Allow Java and Allow All Other Plug-Ins in the Internet Plug-ins section, but no Internet Plug-Ins section appears in the Security section of Preferences.
I have tried to download Flash Player from a few sites, but I keep on receiving the same 'quit unexpectedly' message.
If anyone could help me, I would be really grateful.  I need to resolve this problem as soon as possible.  Up to today, there has been no problem.
    Thanks for your help.
    Best regards,
    Susan, Japan

    Hi Susan,
Be careful where you download from, many free sites now attach malware or adware to it, only get from Adobe's site.
There are no recent updates for 10.5.8, is your iMac PPC or Intel?
See in each Browser which version of Flash it thinks it has...

  • Alternative to Adobe Flash Player for Macs running Yosemite

Is there a reliable and secure alternative to Adobe Flash Player for Macs running Yosemite?  I keep getting websites telling me that I can see a video because my Flash Player needs to be updated.  But I haven't wanted to install it as I've heard negative things about it and Macs.  Is there an alternative to Flash Player?  And if so, what is it and where do I find it?

Being that Flash is very insecure, I've completely removed it from my MacBook Pro. The best alternative is to uninstall Flash from your system and download Google Chrome as it has Flash build into it and you're not vulnerable unless you're browsing in Chrome. If Safari is your main browser, as mine is, then you need to open Safari Preferences, go to Advanced and click the checkbox for 'Show Develop menu in menu bar'. Once you've done this, the Develop menu bar menu shows up and you can click it and choose 'Open Page With' and choose Chrome. It is a bit cumbersome, but it removes the vulnerability when browsing in Safari as many sites are now using HTML5. Hope this help.

  • Flash player for safari won't download

Flash Player for Safari 7.04 won't download. It's not an antivirus issue because it's turned off, everything is enabled.

    Chris,
My problem was that while the installer downloaded, the installation process always crapped out and gave me this error message: "Error: Unable to proceed with the installation". Tried everything and none of it worked. I COULD download v12 of Flash, but noticed that it used a different style of installer that has a simpler, "chunkier" progress bar and overall look, and doesn't ask about whether Flash should check for updates automatically until AFTER the install was done (different from the standard v14 installer, which has a skinnier progress bar and prompts you about auto updates before most of the installation happens).
Just saw your post, downloaded the installer from the macromedia link you provided, and it installed fine! Superfast. Done and done.
In doing so, however, I noticed that the alt version of the v14 Flash installer from your link also has the same simpler, chunkier type of installer as v12. is there a know problem with the standard (skinny progress bar) version of the installer and Mavericks? This has happened before, and I'm now just realizing that the installs only ever work with the "alt" style of installer.
    a) Is Adobe aware of this problem? are they working to make a fix so that i don't have to pull my hair out everytime there's a new security update for Flash?
    b) Would you please consider posting your solution in a more obvious place? I'm betting there are a lot of other Mac users having this issue, but because Adobe help can be sort of a byzantine mess (not you, obviously, but the system itself) I'm betting there are a ton of Mac users that are just giving up, like I almost did. Making this issue known, and positing the alt download will save many people many hours of grief.
    Thanks for posting your solution!
    Cheers,
    M
FYI: I'm on a MacBook Pro with Retina (original) running 10.9.3. I have a 750 GB SSD hard drive, 16 GB of RAM, and a 2.7 GHz Core i7 processor.
