Latest Quicktime update doesn't work with older versions of Safari.

I have an iMac with Panther 10.3.9. I've downloaded and installed all the updates regularly. That last update of Quicktime doesn't work with Safari! All I get is the big Q. Any ideas?

Check your Quicktime settings in System Preferences>Quicktime>Advanced panel.
Mime settings>make sure nothing is checked in the Miscellaneous box.
Advance panel>Enable Flash ought to be selected.

Phone Software update doesn't work with WiFi

Can someone please help.
I have an unlocked N97Mini. I'm trying to update the software version from 10.something to the currently available 12.something. For some reason my USB chord doesn't work (it only charges the phone, that's it) so I'm unable to use PC Suite. I tried to update the software wirelessly using WiFi but it won't let me do it, everytime I select on Phone Software under Application->SF Update it opens a pop up that says I have to use PC Suite. I uploaded other software through WiFi before such as OVI music, but it won't let me do it for the Phone Software.
Please help. How can I update my Phone Software wirelessly?

If you get the message that you need to use PC for updating the phone software, the software for your device variant may not yet be available for over-the-air update and you must do it via PC. You can check also if the same thing happens if you type *#0000# and select in this menu Options > Check for updates.
If PC Suite is not working with your device, try installing the latest Ovi Suite version in your PC.

New flash player 11 update doesn't work with internet explorer 8

I have Windows 7 and IE 8. This is a home desktop computer.
When the latest update of FlashPlayer 11.5.502.146 was automatically installed on Jan 9, IE8 stopped working. I can navigate to a site, but then it just freezes. I can not click any toolbar or other buttons or links--I can not even close IE--I have to use task manager. If I disable Flashplayer, IE works fine, but then of course no content can be displayed. If I go to a site and then enable Flashplayer, I can't click on anything again, so that doesn't work. HELP. Does the newest update not work with IE8?

I have a similar problem. I've Win XP SP3 with IE 8. For last few months I've noticed that Flash Player is not able to play flash audio/video on a webpage i.e., upon visiting a page the flash player starts loading but it does not finish - a circle keeps rotating - player does not manage to display 'Play' button. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Flash Player 11.5.502.146. Also, installed Flash Player 11.6.602.161 from above link. But, with same result.
Same behaviour is repeated in FireFox 18.0.1 with Flash Player 11.5.502.146. It seems that something else is not allowing flash player to play. I've latest Java 7 Upd 13, ZoneAlarm 11 and Avast 7.0.1474.
(Note: I've another PC with Win XP SP3, IE 8 and FireFox 18.0.1 and Flash Player 11.5.502.146 works well. It has Java 7 Upd 13. It has ZoneAlarm 11 and Windows Defender AV)
Can anyone help?

TV show won't play because Quicktime doesn't work with iTunes version

I downloaded episode 1 of Mad Men. When I try to play it I get this error: This movie requires QuickTime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes
I read some of the other support discussions and tried to do 2 things:
(1) I tried to set iTunes to open in 32 bit mode. But, when I open iTunes after doing so, I get an error that iTunes must be opened in 64 bit mode. So, that didn't work.
(2) I tried to remove the movie, but instead of being asked whether I still wanted to keep it, it just asked me if I wanted to "hide" the movie. So, I'm not sure what this means.
How can I watch the show I downloaded? And, please provide really explicit instructions because I can't seem to follow the complicated directions some of the super smart people leave on these discussion groups.
I have a Macbook Pro 15 inch retina screen computer running Yosemite 10.10.3. I have iTunes 12.1.2.27.

I had the same problem as teacher_k reported and I am happy to report that after 2 days of fighting it seems I solved it.
Symptom was: when playing a movie trailer from iTunes on a HDTV or on the computer either nothing happens or a black screen opens and no video or audio is perceived. I have a Win7 laptop.
I am not sure if all of these steps were necessary but at the end it started working:
1. I hope it is obvious that you need a connection to a HDMI TV (at least for some content that is protected) . Ensure that your TV display correctly shows your screen when not playing movies (fixing resolution, refresh rates, etc.)
2. Ensure you have latest rev of QT and that it is the default player for movies (by just launching it and answer yes to that same question if appears)
3. Follow the instructions in Troubleshooting iTunes for Windows Vista or Windows 7 video playback performance issues as Whatcheck said
4. The last tmagic step hat made it work was based on Patriciafromor: deauthorize/authorize the computer, Just in case I also logged off and back into my AppleID account and restarted iTunes and voilà

SMARTboard doesn't work with Newest Version

SMARTboard told me that the reason my SMARTboard activites that require flash do not work is because of the newest version of Flash on my computer. I tried to reinstall older version of Flash and it won't let me, Help!

1.1.3 Update Doesn't Work with Garmin Nuvi

I have been using my iPhone with a Garmin nuvi 680. So far it has worked very well as a hands-free speaker, that is untill last night when I upgraded to 1.1.3. Since the upgrade my Bluetooth connection to the nuvi is shot. I get an initial connection, but every minute or two it warns me that my phone has been disconnected. You can imagine that this gets quite old after a dozen or so warnings.
I have unpaired my iPhone and paired it again to no avail. I have reset the iPhone and I will try again. What else should I try?

I restored my iPhone last night and reloaded my latest backup. That didn't fix the problem at all. Next I am going to try restoring and starting from scratch. Maybe that will work better.
What I am thinking I'll do is do a clean restore, no backup just a new 1.1.3 iPhone and then test the Bluetooth with the nuvi. If that works, then I'll load all my info back to the phone manually. If it doesn't I'll restore the backup and wait for a fix.

Firefox updated itself to 3.6.9 and now I can't print anything from an open page, because HP Smart Web Printing doesn't work with this version. What's a replacement extension?

Also Firefox 3.5.15 gave the same blank page printing problem. I also installed "Better privacy" and " Ghostery"at the time of updates. These programs do not run under the 3.0.19 version. Not sure if if they are related to the problem. Good luck and hope a solution to the problem comes about.

Safari 6.0 update doesn't work with autoproxy?

Software update gave me a new Safari 6.0 (7536.25) this morning on my MacPro running Mac OS X 10.7.4. Now I can no longer access some websites which are reachable through proxies. My system is still configured with an autoproxy.pac file but apparently it can no longer be read. I see this in the console:
WebProcess(2900) deny file-read-data /Volumes/Users/balsup/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/autoproxy.pac
I have verified the setting in System Preferences->Network->Advanced...->Proxies, but above error message indicates it was correct anyways. For some reason, it can't be read anymore! The file has u=rw,go=r permissions. The containing directory has u=rwx,go= permissions.

Just add the following to the file com.apple.WebProcess.sb.
Please add it below the Basic system paths and above the FIXME: or System and user preferences:

9.3 Reader won't work with older version of Acrobat 6.0

I had Reader 9.3 installed and installed Acrobat 6.0. Now neither version of Reader will work.
I've tried removing and reinstalling but 9.3 won't work at all even with Arcobat 6.0 removed.
What can I do?

Reader and Acrobat are not supported on the same Windows computer. It is known to be problem-some. Uninstall Reader and re-install Acrobat 6 or uninstall both, then purchase Acrobat 9, then install Acrobat 9.

Transparency for JTabbedPane doesn't work with java version 1.5 .......

I have a tabbed pane to which i add a panel. Both tabbed pane and panel are set opaque(setOpaque(false)) and i set background image for main container. It works fine in java version 1.4.2_04 showing all the panels and tabbedpane transparent. But when it run in version jdk1.5 the transparency effect goes off.
what is the problem? how to fix it up? please help....

We had the same problem in our project where-in we asked BASIS team to install the lower version of JAVA 1.42..
No proper document from SAP for using lower version of JAVA.

You can't switch to the old library you have to open it directly.
Find the old library in the Finder and double click it. Aperture will ask if you want to upgrade it. Once if is upgraded you can switch between it and the other library.

MMXcore essentials does not work with this version of photoshop

I am using photoshop essentials 12.
It was working fine and all of a sudden I got an error
Saying MMxcore essentials doesn't work with this
version of Photoshop? I have job to finish and can't get into

Which operating system are you using?
Did you copy/move any plugins from older photoshop elements versions to the pse 12 editor plugins folder?
Did you point the Additional Plugins under Preferences>Plugins to an older version of photoshop elements?
That MMXCore.plugin (mac) or MMXCore.8BX (windows) is an adobe plugin and only the version installed with pse 12, works with pse 12.
