Latest version of camera raw for elements 11

When I click on about plug in--camera raw it says version 7.4.0.137.  Is that the latest version for PSE 11.  I have version 8.2 of the DNG loaded.  I have a canon 60D and a 70D.  Do I have to continue converting to DNG before I can open camera raw files?  If Iupgraded to PSE12 would this solve the problem so I do not have to convert to dng before doing edits.

PSE11 shipped with ACR 7.1 and should be updatable to ACR 8.0.
You need ACR 8.2 or higher to work with the 70D so need PSE12 or DNGC 8.2.
PSE13 probably ships in about a month, if things continue as they have the last few years.

You'll need to update to at least ACR 8.2 for the 70D to be recognized.  The normal way to update PSE12 to the latest CR is to use Help / Updates in the Editor which should update to ACR 8.5.
According to Adobe's website PSE12 shipped with ACR 8.1 and you say it says yours is reported as ACR 8.0.
Are you using PSE 11 and not 12?  PSE 11's maximum ACR version is 8.0.

I have Photoshop Elements 12 for both PC and Mac (I use both). I have a new camera, Nikon D810. I downloaded the latest version of Camera Raw, 8.8. My D810 is listed as a supported camera model. However, when I try to open a raw photo in Photoshop Elements, I keep getting the message "Could not complete your request because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw. I have tried reinstalling Camera Raw many times, and have tried to open many different raw files in Elements, and still get the same error message. Please help.

How did you try to install ACR 8.8.  The only way I know of that works with Elements is to use the Updates Choice on the Help menu.
There are two charts supplied by Adobe that explain your RAW dilemma.  This one tells you what your camera needs:  http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html   This one tells you what version of software you need:  http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/camera-raw-compatible-applications.html
In your case, the Nikon D810 needs Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) 8.6 or Lightroom 5.6.  (Congratulations on buying a new camera!)
To get to that level with Photoshop Elements, you will need to replace your Photoshop Elements 12 with version 13.   Adobe caps ACR updates on version 12 at 8.5.
The most convenient way to get around it without spending any money is to use the FREE from Adobe DNG Converter.  Download and install it from here for FREE:  http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/thankyou.jsp?ftpID=5855&fileID=5890  Once it is installed you can convert your D810 raw files to an Adobe RAW version with the .DNG file extension that most, if not all, versions of the various Adobe software programs can use.  That includes old versions of Photoshop, Elements and Lightroom.  DNG converter can be used as the tool to move your files from your memory card to your computer, is efficient, will convert in batches and is completely lossless.  There is no risk of any image quality degradation or RAW functionality.

  • Why does Adobe refuse to provide the latest version of Camera Raw (like my Canon 6d) for CS5?

Why does Adobe refuse to provide the latest version of Camera Raw (like my Canon 6d) that could be supported in Photoshop CS5 or earlier?  Its like Adobe saying you want a Camera Raw for you Camera then buy CS6 which is insulting to your customers.

Adobe's policy to to provide free updates (not upgrades) for currently shipping software, which means the current Photoshop CS6 and Camera Raw 7.x. Development on Photoshop CS5.x and Camera Raw 6.x stopped when Photoshop CS6 started shipping. While it may appear on the surface that's it's a ploy to force users to upgrade to the most recent version when getting a new camera, it's really a policy based on the technical issues of trying to provide backwards compatible software for application that are no longer being developed.
Camera Raw is a plug-in for Photoshop and as such, it is dependent on the Photoshop SDK in which it loads...it's also dependent upon the system level APIs being used by the applications. Could Adobe keep upgrading old software? Yes, but it would be a technical nightmare.
Your alternative is simply use the free DNG Converter if you want to use new cameras that weren't in existence when your old software was developed. Pretty simple really and it's not designed as insult to Adobe customers...it's actually an affirmative program to make sure current users are provided support.
The problem of new camera support for old software is really a problem caused primarily by the camera companies spawning off new cameras whose file formats are undocumented and proprietary. If the camera makers adopted a standard file format that could be opened in standard applications (kinda like DNG) then tis problem would be mitigated. You really should place the lion's share of the problem at the feet of the camera companies...

  • Is Camera Raw for Elements 11 fully featured?

    Hi.
Is Camera Raw for Elements 11 fully featured, or there is another version of Camera Raw with more functions?
I use Elements 11 on Mac OSX.

    Here's a list

  • I downloaded the newest version of camera raw for LR. I have LR4 and can not import photos from my new Nikon D750. The download  said it was sucessful but I still can not import photos.

Lightroom doesn't use the Camera Raw plug-in. So downloading the latest Camera Raw didn't do anything at all for you. The only way to update or upgrade Lightroom is to obtain the latest version. If you have Lightroom 4 then the last version of Lightroom you can have at no additional cost is Lightroom 4.4.1. If the camera you are using requires anything newer than what is supported and that version of Lightroom then it will require an upgrade to Lightroom 5.

  • Will LR get the new brush feature added to the graduated filter and radial filter like the latest version of Camera raw?

Will LR get the new brush feature added to the graduated filter and radial filter like the latest version of Camera raw?

OK, at least I can look forward to it and use Photoshop & CR instead of LR for these filters until then.
    Thanks

  • Camera Raw for Elements 10 for the Canon EOS 7D MkII? Downloading

Is there a "Camera Raw" for "Elements 10" for the "Canon EOS 7D MkII"?
If so could I please have the link to where I can download it?
    Thanks

    Hi,
The Canon 7D Mk II is currently not supported by any version of camera raw.
It is expected that Camera raw 8.7 will include support and we are hoping that it will be released soon.
PSE 12 has ceased to be updated - you will either need to update to PSE 13 or use the DNG 8.7 converter (when it becomes available) to convert the CR2 files to DNG files - PSE 12 will then beable to use the DNG files.

  • How / where can I donwload latest version of Camera Raw in order to open my D4s raw pictures ? I actually have Photoshop CS5 on Mac OS 10.9

Hello, it's all in the title :
How / where can I donwload the latest version of Camera Raw in order to open my D4s raw pictures ? I actually have Photoshop CS5 on Mac OS 10.9
What is the process too ?
    Thank you.

Raw support is version specific. There is no way to simply force install a new version of ACR into an older Photoshop. You need to consider upgrading or use the DNG converter.

  • I am looking for Camera RAW for Elements 11 for a Nikon D610

Does anyone have the link for Camera RAW for Elements 11 for a Nikon D610?

According to the Adobe Supported Camera List - a D610 needs ACR 8.3:
Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras
According to the Adobe Apps list, ACR 8.3 only works with PSE12:
    Camera Raw-compatible Adobe applications
So either upgrade your PSE to 12, or use the DNG Converter 8.3 or 8.4, to convert the NEFs to DNGs that PSE11 can read.  The DNG Converter can be found, here:

  • Camera Raw for Elements 7 enabling use of Nikon D7000

I use Elements 7 with Camera Raw 4.5 I now wish to edit RAW
images from a Nikon D7000. How do I go about obtaining the r
elevant Camera Raw download for use with Elements 7 which will enable me to view and process
    Nikon D7000 RAW images?

The last version of Adobe Camera RAW that PSE7 will work with is ACR 5.6, and that does not support the newer D7000.
Either buy PSE9, or download the latest DNG Converter 6.3 and convert your NEFs to DNGs and open those with the older ACR.
You can get the downloads for both ACR 5.6 and the DNG Convert 6.3 by going to http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/ and using the dropdown at the top to find Camera RAW for your computer type.  If you update Camera RAW then be sure to use the PSE-specific instructions on the page or in the readme.  The DNG Converter is a standalone program that operates on an entire folder of RAWs at a time.

Look in the Camera Raw 4.6 ReadMe to see that the Sony A350 is supported.
The above link is the update for PC.   You didn't say whether you have a Mac or PC.
