Launch URL/BSP from attachments link in workitem in Universal Worklist

Background info:
We have a custom business object. Default method on object in SWO1 is a custom display method. This display method returns a URL to a BSP.
When I open my workitem in SBWP and click the attachments link, it properly launches the URL which opens the BSP.
However, when I open same workitem in Universal worklist and click the attachments link, it does not properly open the BSP. It looks like it's trying to open a SAP GUI version of the object but nothing is displayed. When our developer puts a breakpoint in the ABAP code and we click the workitem link in UWL, the URL/BSP opens fine. So, UWL config must be doing something extra (added code? redirect?) that clobbers the URL/BSP launch. Anyone have any ideas/suggestions?

*Reminder, We are not trying to launch the BSP when you click the workitem link in the UWL list. This is the attachments link inside the workitem itself.

The reason this works from SBWP and not from UWL is because you have an ABAP session in between. You don't mention the type of attachment, but usually what gets executed is the default method of the object. Thus the UWL has to initiate an ITS/WebGUI session to execute the default object method - this method may contain code to launch a BSP but it still needs to get to the code to start with.
You need to find alternatives, see if Karri's suggestion does what you're after.

Workitem in universal worklist not refreshed after processing the workitem

Hi,
We are using EP 7.0, we are having a problem in refreshing workitem in universal worklist. When a workitem in universal worklist is clicked a ABAP webdynpro application is opened in new window, this window has approve and reject button. Clicking on the approve or reject button completes the business process and workitem should be removed from the UWL. But in our case the workitem is still shown in the UWL and the user can again click on the same workitem and open.
Has anyone has encountered this problem? Could someone let me know how to resolve this issue.

Hi,
Just check the status of the workitem whether its approved or rejected before opening the application. If its already approved
or rejected dont open the application.We also faced the similar problem and avoid opening the work item instead of refreshing
uwl.
Because by configuration it is possible to reduce till one minute and frequent refresh of uwl will result in poor performance.
You can give a try with writing code to refresh uwl once the workitem got approved or rejected.

Link to Object (Lead) from workitem in Universal worklist

Hello. We have a workflow that sends workitems (dialog tasks) to a users inbox in SAP portal. If I open the workitem from Universal worklist and then click the link inside the workitem to take me to the object (CRM Lead or Business Activity), I get "page not found". However, if I click this same link after opening the workitem in business workplace (SBWP), I'm taken to the object fine as I expect. Anyone know why the object link from UWL does not work? Or where it's configured?
Note, if I click an object link in UWL for an item that was generated from ECC (say for Document, Material Master, etc), I'm taken to the object just fine. Our issue seems narrowed to the combination of CRM and Universal worklist.

Content Admin -> Webdynpro , the component ess~lea and the application LeaveRequestApprover are in status green.
Also check the correspinding JCO connections tab.
I presume that you have installed the ESS, MSS and PCUI GP patches.

It amuses me that the email that was sent to confirm the posting of this question had a clickable link. Naturally that link did not work. Cutting and pasting it into FireFox allowed me to complete the posting process. Annoying.

create the following BSP application.
1. go to se80 and choose BSP application from the dropdown and enter a name for hit and hit enter, the system will prompt you to create it, create the same .
2. add a page to the bsp application with .xls externsion. (wbviewer.xls)
3. declare the following page attributes
file_content     TYPE     STRING
file_xcontent     TYPE     XSTRING
wa_wbdata     TYPE     RSRWBSTORE
wbdata     TYPE     RSR_RPEC_BIN_FILE
wbid     TYPE     RSSGUID25
for wbid attribute make sure auto checkbox is checked.
4. clear all the default code from layout section.
5. in oninitialization event enter the following code.
refresh wbdata .
clear: file_content .
data: temp_string type string .
select * from rsrwbstore into table wbdata
      where workbookid = wbid.
if not wbdata[] is initial .
loop at wbdata into wa_wbdata.
    clear temp_string .
    temp_string = wa_wbdata-clustd .
    concatenate file_content temp_string into file_content .
endloop.
clear file_xcontent .
file_xcontent = file_content .
call method response->if_http_entity~set_data
    exporting
      data = file_xcontent.
endif .
save and activate the page and application.
now if you call the following url, it will open the work book and the same url can be set in your webtemplate.
http://<bwhost>.<domain>.com:<port>/sap/bc/bsp/sap/<bspapplicationame>/pagename.xls?wbid=<workbookid>

Not possible. URLs are delegated to the OS which does with them what it's
set up to do.
The link itself (and Acrobat/Reader in general) has no way of interfering
with that.

How to launch map application from google map link

Hello,
I am looking to find a way to have the map application on an iphone launch when someone opens this link from a website on their phone:

It only seems to open the map in safari and I can't find anything about how to change this by searching the web. Any help would be appreciated.

I do not see the parameters you are using in the list of supported parameters. Can you express that same position using the supported parameters?

Launching GUI transactions from BSP

Dear Gurus,
I have requirement to launch ECC Transaction from CRM Web Client UI. Now, i dont want ITS based version of ECC version but WIn GUI version. I found Wiki link below which suggests the steps however it does not work.
I have exactly same requirement in CRM 7.0 (Support Pack Level 5) and i implemented same steps as desribed in the article. However I am facing issues tha It first asks for the right applicaiton to open object, i choose SAP Applicaiton exe file but later it gives error -
Erro Statusing "C:\Users\windowsloginid\App Data\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Low\Content.IE5\2DG74TFC\win_gui[1].sap'(rc=-2)"
Here win_gui is the name of .HTM page with flow logic. I copied all the code in Page Layout and i am also not able to debug this as breakpoint does not hit.
Please suggest as this is something really urgnet for me.

I am able to launch GUI for Windows though SAPshortcut method. I am also able to pass the Tx type and sales area on VA21 screen and skipping the first screen. However Now I am facing issue to pass customer number on VA21. I am using KUAGV-KUNNR field to populate customer but it never works. KUAGV-KUNNR buffer is emplty even when i am passing this through shortcut.

Launching Planning from from OBIEE Link

I would like to create a link in OBIEE that launches a Planning data form without forcing the user to signon to Workspace. I am using a Link or Image object and am signing onto OBIEE and Planning as two different users.
So far I have tried the following:
- Identified the URL for the data form I want to launch using the Tools > Copy Link option.
- To this I appended the following string "?sso_username=demoadmin&sso_password=demoadmin".
- This results in a URL such as: http://demodrive:19000/workspace/?module=HyperionPlanning.planning&sourceApp=Retail2&targetPage=EnterData.jsp&targetPageParam=Form%3D02.%20Plan%20by%20Retail%20Division%26Application%3DRetail2?sso_username=demoadmin&sso_password=demoadmin
When I click the link in OBIEE it still presents the Workspace signon page. If I supply the user ID and password, it opens the desired form.
Any suggestions on what else I need to configure?

Thanks John. I don't see the "Accept Credentials on HTTP GET request" setting when I navigate to Administer > Workspace Server Settings on my environment, but I will work with our technical people to sort that out.

BSP -
You wrote the code for catching the user name in the event OnCreate, which means that you know who´s working with the BSP application when it starts.
Somewhere you must have a button or something with text like "Call WDA application". When user presses the button, it triggers events OnInputProcessing. Here you must write the code for the cookie that "sends" the parameter(s), something like:
CALL METHOD cl_bsp_server_side_cookie=>set_server_cookie
EXPORTING
    name                  = 'MY_COOKIE'
    application_name      = 'ZUSER_NAME_GET'
    application_namespace = 'ZUSER_NAME_GET'
    username              = sy-uname

you call then the URL for the WDA application.

read more about the cookies in SDN, because I am not sure if this is the correct example for transmiting values. I´ve used it in conjunction of instructions IMPORT and EXPORT for transmiting an internal table.
if this is not working properly, then try with IMPORT TO MEMORY and EXPORT FROM MEMORY.

WorkItem Attachment: URL attachment from Intranet portal (authorization)

Ive got a requirement to create an attachment as an URL.
The URL points to Sharepoint 2010 server. I am able to attach local or server URL, *.doc, *.pdf etc. file into WorkItem.
But when i attach intranet file SAP doesnt open it. It seems like user authorization, and SAP doesnt transfer user credits to Sharepoint portal.
Could some one help?

If there is an URL for your intranet file, then you can access it by its URL by using the function module CALL_INTERNET_ADRESS.
Create a method within which call this function module.On execution, it will call the URL on the system's default browser.
