Launch Wily Introscope Workstation from SM?

Friends:
The way I launch the Wily Introscope Workstation is:
a. via the Start Menu: ´CA Wily-> Introscope 8.2.2.0-> Introscope Workstation, OR
b. by directly starting the file Introscope Workstation.exe in the installation directory
Is there a transaction in SM to start call Wily Introscope Workstation?
Is Wily Webview an SM transaction?
I appreciate if you can help with this.

You can launch Wily webview and workstation from solman using trxn solman_workcenter-->Root Cause analysis or system monitoring workcenter
before use this trxn assign following workcenter roles
SAP_SMWORK_BASIC
SAP_SMWORK_DIAG
SAP_SMWORK_SYS_MON
in both RCA and sys mon workcenter you can find this link under Common Tasks/Related links respectively

Wily Introscope and "searchPrincipalDatabags"

We have installed Wily Introscope (downloaded from SAP support) on our sandbox and Development environment and so far so good.
We have the enterprise manager installed and have agents loaded on two SAP Enterprise Portal systems and both are sending data to the Wily enterprise manager. One of the two system seems to be locking up after about 2 hours of operation.
We need to understand how to analyze the data we are receiving in WILY to troubleshoot our issue.
Questions
1) What is the best method to obtain info on how to analyze the data in Wily enterprise manager?
2) We can see that just before the system stalls/locks up there is one "process" that seems to stand out: previous to the lockup this process is quick but then the number jumps up high to 120049
example:
SAP J2EE|User Management|DataBasePersistence|searchPrincipalDatabags 1 120049 120049 120049 120049
What is searchPrincipalDatabags? and is there a known problem with this?

Wily Introscope collects/shows only from saposcol

Asked to check why Introscope was not working, I found that it was not
running (enterprise manager and java agents).
I started them without problems,
but the Introscope workstation, at the panel "SAP J2EE Overview" shows me
only CPU usage of PI system (I think from saposcol) and nothing about PI Java instances !
Where have I to check why Introscope agent doesn't show other info
(enqueue, EJB, UM, Memory, JCO, JDB, Servlets, Threads) of Java instance ?
I've started
- EM, as root into the solution manager host, with command nohup runem.nohup.sh & from /usr/sap/ccms/wilyintroscope
- the agent, as smdadm into PI host, with ./smdstart.sh & from /usr/sap/SMD/J98/script.
Introscope stopped his execution sime months ago.
My colleagues told to me that the Wily stopped working after upgrade sol man from 7.0 to 7.0 ehp1

SM Wily Introscope Version 8 doc question

We also installed Wily Introscope Version 8, however there was a part mention as below
The Solution Manager Diagnostics provides an application that performs the setup of the
Introscope bytecode agent for Java automatically. This section explains the steps to run
the setup. Before you can run the Introscope agent setup, the setup wizard for the
managed system must have been executed.
1. Enable Maintenance Mode on SMD.
2. Deploy ISAGENTSMD*.SCA using SDM.
3. Disable Maintenance Mode on SMD.
4. Launch the Introscope Setup application: Diagnostics Setup -> Managed Systems ->
Introscope Agent. Your screen will look similar to the image below:
Questions:
1) How do I go into SMD ? I did use http://<SMserverFQDN>:50000/smd however I only get a header but blank content body in IE or FireFox? Where do I enable maintenance mode?
2) Where do I launch the Introscope Setup Application: Diagnostics Setup ?
I can't find it under Introscope workstation console.

Wily Introscope 8.2.2 - No License for Wrapper service

I've installed the Wily Introscope Manager 8.2.2. When starting the EM service, I get the following error message in the log file:

I believe that Wily is licensed as part of the Solution Manager Enterprise edition. So why do I need to buy an additional license?

For the Wily Introscope Enterprise Manager 8.2 the error you described
occurs if the em-include.conf file is missing in the EM' installation.
This file is included into the SAP managed modules SAPISMM02_0*.SAR
file.
Note that for Wily Introscope EM 8.2.2 you need to install the SAP
management modules after the installation of the EM 8.2.2 AND before
you attempt to start the service
Please refer to the Node 797147 for the documentation about the
the SAPISMM02_0*.SAR - management modules to be installed on top of
Enterprise Manager.
Please consider additionally the Note 1273028
- The Enterprise Manager can only be launched as Windows Service
after the latest management module package (SAPISMM) has been
installed. The SAPISMM package contains a file em-include.conf
which is required.
I would like to ask you to implement the Note 1273028 and to retest the
issue.

I just installed Wily Introscope for the first time. I have successfully installed it from the log below:

I also confirm that the Introscope Enterprise Manager is started as a service.
However, when i try to launch enterprise by following the path All Programs > CA Wily > Introscope 8.2.3.5 > Introscope Enterprise Manager....
I get the error below:

Wily Introscope Enterprise Manager Can't be accessed

Hi Experts,
I installed Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1 and executed basic configuration. And I followed the instruction to install wily EM 8.0. But after installation, the web pages http://emhost:8081/workstation and http://emhost:8081/webview cannot be accessed. Error msg is "404 Not Found The requested resource does not exist."
I've checked the wily log and found no errors. How to solve the problem?

Check if the installation of EM 8.0 was successful or not.
For the same, please check <Introscopehome>/install/Introscopeinstall.log.
I am hoping your installation is successful. Then please perform some other checks.
Please start your Introscope Enterprise Manager service from Windows Services [ for other OS please refer to guide]
Check the <IntroscopeHome>/log/IntroscopeEnterpriseManager.log
file for an Error entry.. there may be a possibility that the Port 8081 [or 8080] is already in use.
Similar format to error message :::
"EM Web Server did not start. Port already in use: 8080 To change the Web Server port, modify the EM property: introscope.enterprisemanager.webserver.port "
If yes, then please modify the \conf\EnterpriseManager.properties file
introscope.enterprisemanager.webserver.port=8080
OR
introscope.enterprisemanager.webserver.port=any other open port

Webview = Html version using Microsoft SIlverlight
Workstation (also called Investigator) = Java version
The latest is recommended since it has more features and it is more stable.

See the SMD Agent log files, it is responsible for such data. Report problems here or in customer message.

These two locations are below the trees SAP HostAgent Process and SAP Netweaver. The first one is the host data + abap data (extracted from SMD Agent, SAP HostAgent, sapOsCol) and the second is Netweaver data extracted from the Introscope Agent.
Problems in the first node, check smd agents, setup wizards.
Problems in the second, check introscope setup.

Wily Introscope Dashboard cannot be started: Silverlight Error 2104

Dear Gurus,
we have installed a DualStack SolMan 7.0 Ehp1 SPS23 on AIX/Oracle.
Diagonstics and WilyEM 8.2 is installed and running well, Data from Agetens SMD7.11 and IntroscopeBytecodeAgents data are displayed also in Wily Introscope Webview - Investigator tab.
Silverlight 4 is installed since last May.
Last week the regular Microsoft-Patching did on our FrontendWorkstations (WinXP SP3) with IE7
Additionally there was an upgrade of our SolMan Operating-System drom AIX5.3 to AIX6.1
During this update also an JAVA 1.5 was newely installed for WilyEM, and the parameter " "the VM to use for the next launch" in the lax-file points to this Java-Version:    java full version "J2RE 1.5.0 IBM AIX build pap64dev-20091106a (SR11 )"
But today we recognized - after sucessfully start of Wily EM WebView - that there is a problem when we try to select one of the prepared Dashboards from SAP and press the "View"-Button:
We get an ErrorMessageBox from IE whichs saids:
"Silverlight error:"
"Error Type: InitializeError"
ErrorMessage:2104"
and no Dashboard comes up.
The same Error occours when we use antoher Browser ?
Can anybody please help ?
What could be the reason or solution for this kind of error ?

unfortunately I wasn't able to use your workaround successfully:
Even when I mark the "Consoile"-Tab and press the "Refreh"-Button to reload the Page, i still get the same Error-Messages...
Are there newer/other fixes available to solve this problem ?
Which fix do you mean exactly ?   We currently run following version of WilyEM / WebView (from IntroscopeEMWebView.log)

Wily Introscope Version for Solution Manager 7 SPS 17

Hi
We have a solution manager 4 (now 7) running on an ABAP stack only, this was recently upgraded from Solution Manager 3.2 which was installed 3 years ago as ABAP stack only, this server was never powerful enough to have the Java stack added and the project did not require it.
I am now looking to migrate this ABAP Solution Manager 7 to a new server, using ABAP & JAVA so I can make use of Solution Managaer tools like Diagnostics, RCA, WILY etc.
On a sandpit copy I have migrated the ABAP instance to a more powerful server and added the Java Instance from the Solution Manager 4 Installation Master, so I now have a dual stack SM 4, I have patched this to SP17.
I am looking to install Wily Introscope for monitoring, I have read Note 797147 - Wily Introscope Installation for SAP Customers, where it says you should always use the latest version of Wily, which is 8.0.2, but looking at the note, the downloads for Introscope Enterprise Manager and Introscope Workstation are from SAP SOLUTION MANAGER 7.0 EHP 1, but I am not running Solution Manager on EHP1, I am on SP Stack 17.
Looking in the SWDC there are downloads in SAP SOLUTION MANAGER 7.0 -> Entry by Component -> Solution Manager JAVA Stack -> WILY INTROSCOPE ENTPR MGR 8
Is this what I should be using for my SP Stack 17, or should I use the EHP1 version?
Also, setting up the Solution Manager Diagnostics, is there a setup PDF for Solution Manager 7 SP17 ? I cannot find a setup guide for this release, most are for EHP1, I would rather not have to implement EHP1 as part of this migration !

As for installation guide, I have think you have misunderstood my question, I already have the wily installation guide from the note location, I wanted to know if there is any Solution Manager Diagnostics setup guides for SP17 ?
When I use transaction SOLMAN_WORKCENNTER --> System Monitoring --> Solution Manager Diagnostics --> Diagnostics System --> Diagnostics Setup --> Setup Wizard
the first 2 (of 23) setups are failing :
SSO The value of profile parameter login/accept_sso2_ticket could not be checked
BI Cannot invoke CCMSBISETUP on host localhost
Warning :
User(BI) Role SAP_BI_E2E does not exist
Then it says :
To complete the Diagnostics Setup, you should perform the following operations as documented in Diagnostics Setup Guide
I cannot find this Diagnostics Setup Guide for SP17 ?
The installation guides are mainly for EHP1, media library under sap-ag.de/diagnostics does not show this setup guide, Master Installation guide does not mention it, so was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction for this guide ?

application on a HP-UX server using 1.4.2.05 HP Hotspot JVM.
1) Introscope settings (probes) reference Java classes and
methods. By using the ..../WEB-INF/cfclasses, the only metrics I
succeeded to set are, for instance;

MethodTimer "...."
where the reference to the method is "_factor<n>".
Is there a way to associate this "_factor<n>" method

with a real function defined with <cffunction> tag into
the CFML page source ?
Otherwise I obtain a list of "_factor<n>" method names
into the Introscope Workstation view, without to be able to
associate each one with the relevant CFML page source function
name.
2) In addition, is there a way to instrument the Java class

Wily introscope 8.2.2 service not starting

Hi All,
I have recently installed wily introscope on our new solution manager server, other than a few issues with modules the manager starts up without problems from a command line.
When I try to start the manager as a service the wrapper application performs this error.

Unless I am missing something (most probable), it looks like the Java Main class wrapper.java.mainclass=org.tanukisoftware.wrapper.WrapperSimpleApp is looking for java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError
Not being a java person language issue?
Anyway has anyone had this issue or resolved it?

Just for yours or anyone running this under windows 2008, you were correct with note 1273028.
If the windows service still fails to start please check if files ServiceWrapper.jar and ServiceWrapper.dll are present in folder lib. If not download them from attachment of this note: ServiceWrapper_822.zip for release 8.2.2.0, ServiceWrapperWindowsAMD64SAP.zip for previous 8.x releases.
The service should start although giving an error message regarding the ServiceWrapper.dll. You can ignore this error.
I noted that the installer did not install ServiceWrapper.jar and ServiceWrapper.dll, I down loaded both attachments, however ServiceWrapper_822.zip only seemed to work.
