Leave request workitem in UWL status update issue

Hello,
Once manager receives a workitem in their UWL for leave request, the status is NEW.
Now when manager click on that workitem..opens it and closes it without taking any action.
The status must change to "IN PROGRESS".
This does not happen.
Status remain as NEW.
We do not have any issue once Leave is approved or rejected. Workitem gets disappeared appropriately.
Please help me in resolving this issue.

We are on EHP4.
And it uses Java based applications.
Now can you please check in you machine the very same scenario.
Instead of looking at the senders UWL, have a look at the managers UWL.
Where status is displayed as "New".
Open the workitem and close it withpout taking any action.
Then manually refresh your UWL and observe the status. Is it "New" or "In progress".
However we have just recieved a reply from SAP that it is a standard behaviour. And status would remain as New if no action is taken.
But still I am not convinced. As if you open that workitem from Backend Inbox. The status in UWL in portal changes to "In Progress" !

Error while running leave request Workitem from UWL

HI,
While running the workitem from UWL in MSS we are getting the following error
URL http://sapdev.rediffsap.net:8000/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/ess~lea/LeaveRequestApprover call was terminated because the corresponding service is not available
i.e its is not launching the Web Dynpro application.
As result I have checked the following :-
1) Maintained entries as per SAP note 779075.
2) Alias for the portal system has been set to SAP_WebDynpro_XSS and UWL has been registered with this alias.
3) check entried for Task - TS31000007 APPLICATION - CatManagerApprove and PACKAGE - sap.com/msscatapproval which are set in T-code SWFVISU.
Plus I have also tried the following changes.
1) All the services in SICF are activated.
2) I have tried setting the WEBASPATH to blank and set it to /webdynpro/dispatcher and /webdynpr/dispatcher/sap.com but it does not test the WAS connection as correct, but running the Workitem still results in the same error.
I am running out of ideas now to correct this. Please help.

i applied the note 779075 still same error is comming
created three system SAP_R3,sap_its_xss, andsap_webdynpro_xss
through which system i have to register the system

Leave Request Workitem error Work item cannot be executed in status COMPLET

Hi All,
In case of leave request application when one particular manager is trying to approve the leqave request he is getting the error message
Work item 000000003046 cannot be executed in status COMPLETED
when i check in workflow log i am getting the workitem id for the dialog task it is 0000000002111
work item id 000000003046 mentioned in the workflows is for my background task which is already completed.
This is happening on production server. Other managers are able approve and reject the leave.
Please suggest.

Blank header appears when validating leave request from the UWL

We are using SAP Portal 7.3 and BP_ERP5MSS 1.51 SP06 according note oss 1618269 with a backend ECC6 EHP5 SPS06.
We are facing the following issue :: "Leave Request Approval screen is poping with blank header".
This issue occurs when launching the task TS21500003 from the UWL of the manager trying to validate a leave request.

From NWA and Log traces we can find, but it is not sure it is relevant (due to some other iview not set yet) :
error : "Item with external id :<000000005010> and system id: <SAP_UWL >: Problem in performing action <markAsLaunched>: Unknown action: <markAsLaunched>-"
warning : "com.sap.security.api.NoSuchUserException: The given id " "is not a unique id of a user!"
We tried to follow some recommandations :
- Tx SWFVISU / Task TS21500003
- DYNPARAM = LRF_REQUEST_ID=${item.REQUESTID}
- and from portal : "Universal Worklist - Administration" / "my system alias" / Re-Register
- and clear cache
=> without success.
we tried :
- role : SAP_MANAGER_MSS_NWBC and SAP_ALL
- we assigned this role or this profile at our user test
=> without success.
we find :
- Note 1600953 : Modifications to UWL configuration file in BP MSS Add-On 1.0
=> but we didn't setup this Add-On, so we think this note is not relevant for us.
to investigate :
We have also tried to copy and past the XML indicated in note 1600953 for task TS21500003 and it did not solve the issue. We then came back to our initial XML.
We have configured the SAP_WebDynpro_XSS as indicated but we still face he same issue :
- when trying to open the task in the UWL, a pop up with a blank header opens.
- when using the iview com.sap.pct.erp.mss.leave_request_approval, the system opens directly a leave request without showing the list of requests assigned to the manager.

Unable to process leave request due to WORKFLOW Status in ERROR in ESS Portal.

Dear Experts,
I'm facing an issue with the leave request of an user. The user has applied leave a week ago but still it has not got auto approved.While analyzing the database of leave request in PTARQ, it has been found that the WORKFLOW STATUS is in ERROR and the DOCUMENT STATUS is in SENT condition.
Kindly help me in this case.

Hi surendha,
That particular leave request might have gone into error because of worklfow issue at the point of time.
You can simply check with workflow if any issue with workflow was there in that tenure , leave request was being raised,
Now solution is to delete the leave request from PTARQ which is in SENT status and workflow is errored out.
Also take that work item id and get it deleted by workflow consultant (T code SWI5).
Once that leave request/work item got deleted , ask user to again apply leave and it would go to manager for approval.
Once leave request is approved, leave request would be in Posted status and will get updated in IT 2001.

Error when opening leave request task in UWL

I have a manager role and when I want to proceed the leave request tasks in the UWL, I get the following error message:

Leave Request workitem always to manager

Hi,
I copied the WF WS12300111 and added an extra approval step to my custom workflow with the same task TS12300097 as the first approval step.
The problem is that the first workitem is sent to the HR Administrator, in the SWI1 I can see it correclty, but the problem is that the Manager of the person is getting also the workitem in his inbox, even thou I didn0't send it to him, he can see in a workitem the list of pending leave requets workitems and he can approve or reject them!
How can avoid this functionality and only sent the workitem to the HR Administrator?

I think there is a problem in the customization for the rule group. check in the SPRO.
SPRO-personnel management-ESS-service specific settings-Leave request-> Define processing process for each rule group:
Then see what is there in : Determine Next Agent .
I think in your case it is MNGR line manger.
Change it to: MANU No Calculation/Manual Entry .
Hopefully your problem will be resolved.

ISE 1.3 Node AD Status updating issue

Hello,
since awhile i have the Problem with the 1st ISE node that it´s on updating.. status. (see attachment)
Between the update from 1.2 to 1.3 this issue was not seen by the System check, it occurs later.
Now i have try to leave and/or rejoin the node but dosn´t help. Also an reboot of the not have no effect.
The logs on the node and in the Microsoft AD dosn´t show anything with an issue. We see in MS AD log that this node comes with the correct credentials who i have tried the leave or join process.
Have anyone an idea to solve this Problem!?

long time ago I have post my problem, so we have now fixed it with with TAC but we have some other issues by replacing the EAP certificates fixed also.
So, we hit some BUGs that are also present in ISE 1.3 Patch 2 and would be fixed next ISE version.
By trouble shooting I have seen that when I disable the PSN service on that node which have the connecting issue, the AD connection now is OK on both nodes.
But this was not a solution for this, the realy one was on my site the FQDN entry for the sponsor portal that was pointed to this node. This field is not a requiered field and when we delete the entry the AD connectioin goes to green!
I hope you have fixied your problem also to this time.

UWL Status Update

Hi All,
Currently I am working in PCR workflows. All workflows are working fine. I need to update status in UWL. Once any work item is approved or rejected or completed the UWL will NOT update the status.
It always open / process status.
I used BUS7051 and method CHANGE STATUS. It works only in backend system not in UWL.
Can anyone help me with this issue.

Hi ,
You are using correct BOR BUS7051 change status , but can you check if you are using correct binding in your task .
If this is correct , then check portal refresh .By default it is 5 min .
Also, use the refresh button on the Status Overview of PCR , and then examine.

DChain-spec. status updation issue

Hi there
when i create material with sufficient views..the material gets status active in sales and purchasing view..(we got some work flow to approve for it..b4 both shud be inactive i mean 10 in sales view and G5 in purchasing view..once approved both are getting status active..so working fine)..
In case of extending material thru MM01 (no need for approve for it..so Work flow is not configured for it!)..am not getting status as active in both sales and purchasing views..even i give it as active...it is saving as inactive...
What am doing is just extending sales view with different salesorg and distribution channel and purchasing view with different plant..
My q: when we are extending the material for sales and purchasing view..need we also extend other views to get the material status ACTIVE.

when you are extending to different Organization levels, you have extend the Accounting view also.Since valaution of materials carried out valuation area level.In general , plant will be defined as the valaution area. There is no need to extend other views Basic data1,2 & classification data.Please extend the Acconting view and check.

UWL - Leave Request item still in UWL after approval

Hello,
we are facing the problem that the leave request items have still state "new" after the approval and don't change the state.
But in the list the leave request is not visible any more... so the approval worked.
I found the discussion: Approved items in UWL remains in the status "new". and Leave request workitem in UWL status update issue but that didn't help.
Does someone know what to do?

It is now completed and that's great. Unfortunately the items are still there. I am only able to see the new items in the transaction. The old ones are not visible but I need to delete them. Tomorrow I will ask some WF guru to help me fix it.
I also think that there is still a problem with the configuration of the UWL / backend WF. It could be that ne required jobs are not planned. I was happy that the UWL worked so fast but now....

Error: You are not a receiver of the work item in Leave Request Approval

I have copied the standard leave request workflow and done the customization as per my requirement.
Agent assignment for all the tasks are General Tasks.
We are facing below error when we are trying to approve the leave request from MSS UWL.
"You are not a receiver of the work item.".
This started happening after implementing the note 1501377 which is for clearing the approved leave request
workitems from UWL .
i have gone through the threads related to this issue and tried given solution but no success .
Please let me know if anything else is missing since its happening after implementing the note.

Able to resolve the issue :-).
i was using Fork since my workflow is a two level process.
so the workflow was travelling to both branches one was in ready state another was in waiting state(48hours deadline)
having different agents.
i debugged the 1501377 note code when leave is approved it is looking at last workitem of the request which is waiting state workitem in my case and I was trying to approve the leave from user who is in ready state. then it throws the error.
So i have changed the design of workflow. i have done below things for two level process.
i will have requested end for approval task with outcome in that branch i kept second level approver. My questions
1) i am planning to do write below code to post the entries into infotypes after approval by managers. is it ok or any suggestions?

      RECEIVING

2) how to complete the WF if the 1st manager misses the deadline and WF goes to second manager?

ESS UWL status

We are using modified standard leave request workflow Ws12300111 with second level approval with ESS .
                     If a leave request is rejected , UWL status shows 'Completed ' , but if a leave request is approved status remains ' IN Progress' even after 10 -12 days of approval .
                          The workflow status in 'Document database ' remains ' started ' .
                     I have also checked backround report RSWWCOND . It is scheduled with frequency of 30 minutes .
             How can I correct this ?
