Left to right alingment issue when showing the report in arabic language

Hi,
Now am working in Arabic reports, Everything working fine, but the problem is with the alignment only.
In development of report (report builder) the alignment is right to left but in pdf the alignment changed to left to right.
I am using Oracle Report Builder 10.1.2.0.2 and running reports on Oracle Application server 10.1.2.0.2
Can anyone help me this.

Installed the Oracle Forms and reports services 10g/ Oracle application server 10g (10.1.2.0.2) with Arabic Language and got the problem resolved.

FR Studio moving Cells Issue when running the report in Workspace

I've created a complex, multi-grid FR report. There are 8 grids and 2 database connections in the report. When I run the report in Workspace for a smaller entity/unit, the report looks fine in PDF. When I run the report for a larger entity/unit, one of the cells in the grid duplicates itself and is shifted down into a second page on its own. The cell is an account cell with a label of "Salaries and Wages." The Salaries and Wages cell shows up in the correct location, but without a number. Then, there is a second page with the "Salaries and Wages" cell and the number that is at that intersection. I believe this only happens when the report is run on larger entities/units and when I view it in PDF, which is the format the users will be viewing this report.
Also, something to note is that there is a gride to the right of this grid with the Salaries and Wages account, and I tried moving that out of the way and changing the row height and column width but none of those changes fixed the issue.
Has anyone ever encountered something like this? Any ideas or comments would be greatly appreciated!!!

Yes - consolidating 8 grids into 4 grids fixed the issue. I think having too many grids with multiple DB connections in each grid is too much for FR to handle. My current report has 4 grids with 2 of the grids having 2 database connections in them. The report is now working correctly.

I am being charged for 3 GB that apparently Verizon hadn't caught up on that I had used!! The last night of my cycle I called and checked and I had .5 GB left and right before midnight when the cycle ended it caught up on 3 GB!! I now have to pay for this

Data usages are always estimated...I don't believe any carrier post data usage in real time. I've had my data increased due to a large chunk being unaccounted for at the time of my cycle. Thankfully when I'm billed for it...it has never pushed me over my limit.

It's something to do with the main user account (not iTunes account) on my Mac because I logged in with another account and it downloaded fine, I installed it on the HDD and even though the date in App Store was 16th October 2014, it is the full installer of 10.10.2.
To try to resolve this problem, I have copied the installer app elsewhere and deleted it but App Store still will not allow me to download it with my main user account yet just allowed me to update iTunes.
I had a brainwave last night that it might have been related to me changing the default downloads folder to one not on my boot drive (to save disk space on my main boot drive) but having changed it back, tried again, rebooted and tried yet again, deleted my App Store preferences. nothing has worked.

Error when selecting the Report Center tab of the Issues web DB

I started a DB from the Issues web DB template. Everything worked fine when I shutdown last night, but this morning I started receiving the following error when selecting the Report Center tab.
You must specify an object for the BrowseTo to open. I have noticed that the ReportCenterDefault form no longer displays. How do I correct this?

Issue is formating the report

Hi Experts,
My issue is formatting the report
the columns are like this (ex)
empno,ename,job,hiredate and so on
when the data populates in to report empno and hiredate should be aligned to center and ename,job should align to left
when i tried to do format through bex they are all bexstditem either aligned to left side or center or right side. because once we the set the properties to bexstditem it is applicable to whole bexstditem.but i want to split into two..

Select empno and go to Format in menu bar and do as follows.
Format>styles(SAPBexchatext)->modify>formatAlignment.
Here change to right or left etc..

Performance issues when creating a Report / Query in Discoverer

Hope you are can help, it involves a performance issues when creating a Report / Query.
I have a Discoverer Report that currently takes less than 5 seconds to run. After I add a condition to bring back Batch Status that = Posted we cancelled the query after reaching 20 minutes as this is way too long. If I remove the condition the query time goes back to less than 5 seconds.

Hi Rod,
I've tried the condition (Batch Status||'' = 'Posted') as you suggested, but the qeury time is still over 20 mins. To test i changed it to (Batch Status||'' = 'Unposted') and the query was returned within seconds again.
Ive been doing some more digging and have found the database view that is linked to the Journal Batches folder. See below.
I think the problem is with the column using DECODE. When querying the column in TOAD the value of P is returned. But in discoverer the condition is done on the value Posted. Im not too sure how DECODE works, but think this could be the causing some sort of issue with Full Table Scans. How do we get around this?

Show the report on the same dashborad page with the folder tree?

I add a folder in dashboard, and put it on the left.
now i open the folder tree in dashboard, and click a report,
but biee open the report on a new page.
I want to show the report on the same page with the folder,
maybe show the report on the right in the dashboard with the folder.
how could it be done?

The only way it could work is using iframes. Now OBIEE 11g would not allow iframes inside it's dashboard. It offers a dashboard object called "Embedded content" which is a restricted iframe kinda thing but unless you get this object's id from generated HTML you can change it's content dynamically. Besides, such an implementation may break with next patch. So here is an idea.
Create a HTML page with two iframes, left one will hold all the reports with links (you can always generate a list of reports through catalog manager, open it in excel and make HTML links from it) that open report urls (in the format of ./saw.dll?GO&Path=....) in right iframe (using javascript open.window method). Once that page is working, call this page from dashboard using an action link. This is slightly twisted approach but at least it would give you what you asked for.
About making the report list dynamic, I am afraid there are no easy answers. OBIEE provides web service that will allow the users to query catalog to get a list of reports. You can try some basic JSP to access the web service and generate the list dynamically. But that is not something I can provide here.

Log file when ruinning the report

Hi ,
When I am running the report I get an error """com.waveset.util.WavesetException: XPRESS <new> exception com.waveset.util.WavesetException: Invalid or missing constructor arguments. java.lang.IllegalArgumentException"""
I know why I am getting that error. some of the users are missing some required attributes so the error is coming .
Do to those user when I run the report it stop with the users that has this problem.
Million dollar question here how would I know which user have this problem ?
SO I was thinking if I can see any log that is aviable when the report is running so I can look in to and find where exactly it was stuck.
Can any one tell me when running the report is there any log file created or any log file that shows any where I can see what exactly the problem is .

but for a single workstation when try to run the report,after showing the report parameter,when pressing the button ,it display the login screen.What is the difference between this single machine and other machines?
What is the desktop OS and the browser?
Does the issue happen with one specific report or with all reports?
Can you find any errors in the JRE/Jinitiator console window?
Try to clear the browser/Jinitiator cache and history and see if you can reproduce the issue then. Also, try from the same machine using a different browser (if possible) and check then.

Performance issue while opening the report

HI,
I am working BO XI R3.1.there is performance issue while opening the report in BO Solris Server but on window server it is compratively fast.
we have few reports which contains 5 fixed prompt 7 optional prompt.
out of 5 fixed prompt 3 prompt is static (it contains 3 -4 record only )which is coming from materlied view.
we have already use many thing for improve performance in report like-
1) Index Awareness
2) Aggregate Awareness
3) Array fatch size-250
3) Aray bind time -32767
4) Login time out -600
the issue is that before refresh opening the report iteslf taking time 1.30 min on BO solris server but same report taking time in BO window server 45 sec. even we import on others BO solris server it is taking same time as per old solris server(1.30 min).
when we close the trace in solris server than it is taking 1.15 sec time.it should not be intial phase it is not hitting more on database.so why it is taking that much time while opening the report.
could you please guide us where exectly problem is there and how we can improve performance for opening the report.In case the problem related to solris server so what would be and how can we rectify.

If this is happening with all the reports then this issue seems to be due to firewall or security settings of Solaris OS.
Please try to lower down the security level in solaris and test for the issue.

Crystal Report not working when posting the report to the Crystal Server.

Hi All,
I created a report using Crystal Reports 2008 with two ODBC connections (User DSN's). When I run the report in Crystal Reports (where I originally created it) it runs fine with no problems.
I am now trying to load it on Crystal Server 2008. When I try to run this report in InfoView, I get a message: "Error Failed to open the connection." I am thinking that it has to do with the ODBC connections but I am not quite sure. Could someone lead me in the right direction? How will the report that I now saved in the repository on the server connect to the ODBC stream?

Error when generating the report (see long text), Message no. AQ_AD_HOC221

I am facing a peculiar problem while executing an infoset query.I have created 2 customized fields Compa-ratio and PIR in infotype 0008 in an infoset.I have coded in these additional fields.
When I execute a query using 1 of these customized fields the report is generated correctly.But when I put both the fields in the output the report shows an error "Error when generating the report (see long text)". The message# associated with this errAQ_AD_HOC221.
I have also checked the data types and the references. Nothing seems to be wrong here.
Does anybody has any clue about this ?

Hi Bernd,
I had a look at those notes. But the information provided did'nt prove to be helpful. I found out the problem. I was using the same local variable for both the fields in their code. This generated the error. This error is a very generic one and does'nt help in finding out what exactly is the problem.
I changed the other local variable and it started working. When I was using the same variable that time I did'nt forget to clear the values but the query still generated the error.

LOGO not going when sending the report as Email attachement

We are calling reports in two ways (both as html format) to be sent as Email. The report includes company logo at the top
1.Running report in cache through Web.Show_document and
copy it by using copy_report_object_output and
displaying it using Web.show_document('mailto: '||:resorts_name.e_mail);
2. By using xml distribution list to dynamic emails
web.show_document('myserver...servlet?report=myreport&server=myserver&userid=user@ourdb
&distribute=yes&destination=ourxml.xml');
By using 1st method The report has to manually reattach, and is attached and sent but Company Logo is not being displayed and it shows only the html file and at the logo it displays the red crossed. The reason seams that when it produces the report it creates two file html and gif file and while reattaching it attach only htm and not logo.
By Using 2nd method of the distribution list and the xml file it attaches report in the body however it disturbs the margin due to the email headers and it shows the logo but when prints the report again it show red marked blank area as of 1.
Does any one faced the problem of logo not being displayed at the email when report was sent and any solution regarding this will be highly appreatiated.

After generating them write a program to send the mail .
for that convert the pay slip to PDF format and attch it to mail.
for converting it to PDF use this FM <b>CONVERT_PAYSLIP_TO_PDF</b>
after conversion send it using <b>SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1</b>

Invalid Year error when refreshing the report with date prompt

Hi All,
I am working on BO XI 3.1 with Informix database.
When refreshing the report without any date prompt the report is running fine,but when applying the date prompt it is giving the error message
"Invalid year in the date".
I have tried changing the value in the advance tab of the object property to 'yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss'
But it also din't work for me.
Please suggest.

Since changing the PRM file was not a fesiable solution for us.
We have manged to find a work around to solve this issue
We have created the filters at universe level with following formula for all the date objects which we ere using at report level as a prompt:
@Select(classname\objectname)=TO_DATE(@Prompt('Enter Date:','D',,mono,free,not_persistent), '%Y/%m/%d')
Although when we parse this formula it wil give an error message saying 'illigle operation',
still it will work when we use this at report level.
