Just check the bwlow link you can understand easly to upload the balances.

    Hi,
Standard SAP tools for the upload are LSMW or BDC. Search this forum, you will find a lot of threads regarding this theme.

  • Strange legacy data migration problem to SAP CProjects

    Dear all,
I am new to CProjects and currently working on migrating legacy data to CProjects through XML. I am facing some strange problems when migrating project data with multiple phases. If the project already exists in Cprojects, the XML import transaction hangs indefinitely and a timeout exception is thrown. While on the other hand, if I upload a new project (with same set of phases), it is readily imported without any problems.
       Kindly help!
      Thank you all!

    Hi Vivek,
If the project already exists, the system creates a simulation from the imported data. You then need to move the simulation to your operational project by performing a reconcilliation. You can't simply overwrite an operational project via an import.
I have included some links below from SAP help which may help (cProjects 3.1).

  • Legacy Data Migration - question on conversion

    Hello All,
We are trying to build a generic tool which could help the conversion process in data migration.
For eg, If the material name in legacy starts with AB (AB6790), the same has to be referred in SAP as SQ6790.
So its replacing initial few characters during the conversion process.
Like this, I am expected to collect possible scenarios and
develop a generic tool, which can cover some possible conversion conditions.
Can you please help me with such scenarios, which you may have come across in project needs.
    Thank you.
    Meenakshi

    Rahul,
I strongly suggest you do a search in the CRM General & Framework Forum on this topic.  If you are looking for specific objects to migrate there are several posts on the major data elements in crm (transactions, business partners, products).
In general the technique is to use the LSMW combined with the XIF-IDOC adapter to convert data into the CRM system.
My blog here will explain the general process:

    Thank you,

  • Performance Management - Legacy  data migration

We are going live in mid-feb. We would like to migrate the legacy appraisal data (non-SAP) into SAP Performance Management
    How do we do this?
Is it possible to create the VB , VC objects by a report. I am considering creating a transition appraisal document for this migration.

    Hi Guys
Setting of the STATUS is possible via BAPI.
Once you create the Project definition you can then use the GUID and set the status of the newly created project.
I you want to set the STATUS to anything other than RELEASE. Make sure to set it to RELEASE 1st then to wat ever you choose. You can do both all of the above before you COMMIT
Below is some nasic code which worked for me.
    *& Report  YYPY001_TEST
    REPORT  YYPY001_TEST.
    data i_trans type BAPI_TS_BUSINESS_TRANSACTION.
    data e_return type BAPIRET2 OCCURS 0.
    data e_return1 type BAPIRET2 OCCURS 0.
    i_trans-BUSINESS_TRANSACTION = 'RELEASE'.
    CALL FUNCTION 'BAPI_BUS2172_SET_STATUS'
      EXPORTING
        project_definition_guid       = '44BDF2BDF5BB2075E1000000CB195E30'
      IV_STATUS_PROFILE             =
        IS_BUSINESS_TRANSACTION       = i_trans
      TABLES
        RETURN                        = e_return
    CALL FUNCTION 'BAPI_CPROJECTS_COMMIT_WORK'
      TABLES
        return        = e_return1

  • Bank statement legacy data migration

Has anyone migrated legacy bank statement data without migrating the FI line items?

No, but I think that can be possible uploading EBS files but not posting them.

  • Credit card Open sales order data migration

    Hi All,
My query for today is to know your experiences as to how to handle legacy data migration to SAP for Open transactions having credit card information. I mean in legacy we have Open orders with credit card information and some of them are approved, or rejected or in a yet to receive a response stage. What is the best practice to migrate these open orders. Should we reauthorize these orders? Similarly, if you can tell me about Open Invoices and Open A/ru2019s.
    Thanks
    AriBis

    hello, friend.
a standard transaction is VA05 or VA05n to check on open orders.
if you need to check the database tables, you can check sales order status/header thru table VBUK.  for item level, use VBUP.  you will find fields such as reference status, delivery status, etc.
    regards.

  • Data Migration of Contracts with periodic billing and revenue recognition

    Hello Experts,
I am trying to develop a legacy data migration plan for Contracts with periodic billing plan and revenue recognition.
Example of the scenario is given below:
Customer signed a contract for one year starting 01/01/2009.
Customer is billed quartely, billed in advance.
    SAP going live on 04/01/2009
Customer is billed for 3 months and also for initial set up fees.
    Revenue recognition is done monthly.
We have to migrate this contract to SAP.
Billing document posting may be necessay as it affects revenue recognition which spans across the total contract period.
Any ideas how to do this?
    Thanks  A Lot
    Anil
Edited by: Anil  Jose on Sep 17, 2008 9:38 PM

    Hi Anil
How did you manage this? We also had the same problem in one of our contracts and what we did was that we copied the contracts from the legacy with the full value. That is suppose SAP went live on 1st April, 2009 and the contract was created on 1st January 2009 for a value of suppose 100 USD, with the first billing being done on 1st Jan for 33.33 USD for 4 months. We first created the contract with a validity from 1st Jan 2009 in the new system. We billed it with a billing type that we created that did not actually create new accounting entries as the accounting entries had already been created in the legacy system. In the new system then we recognised the revenue till the go live, so that the actual value remaining of the contract reduced. Then we started the billing plan of the contract from 1st of April 2009 for the remaining amount. So next invoice was created on 1st april for 33.33 USD. Can you share your solution.

  • Data migration from legacy system to SAP

    hi all,
could you please post some docs on migration from legacy system to SAP system., also the problems faced while migration and best practices in data migration
    regards
    sridharan

    Hi ,
I require few details from you.
    1. What ETL tool you are using, If Informatica, it already have PowerConnect to connect to SAP. So you can create source and Target Structure and also you can use RFC's to send data to R/3. Else, for other ETL tools, can you prepare RFC's or any other way to send data to R/3. let me know the tool.
    2. Does R/3 contains the master data tables? If yes, then try to use LSMW for Mass upload of data to tables.
If your client don't want to use either of these options please elaborate, what is the case.

Can anybody please tell any transaction code in CRM where can I find the Data migration for the above objects is possible or not.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Sai.

    Hello,
for migration into CRM I would suggest the 'XIF-Interfaces'; these are interfaces provided in CRM for connection to external systems. I'm not sure if this will cover all objects mentioned above, but at least some of them should exist.
Some information about existing interfaces can be found in the integration repository under http://ifr.sap.com/index.html; from the start screen first select 'Enter the repository' and then have a look under 'generic components' and 'SAP CRM'.

  • Data Migration from Legacy System in IS-U

    Hi All,
We are going to Implement a new IS-U project,  I have a problem with LSMW(Legacy System Migration Workbench ),  I have some Conversion Objects of IS-U and I need to know whether Data Migration is possible or not, please tell me how to find these Objects and how to know Data Migration is possible or not.
    Objects are like.,

    3. Business Partner Relationships
    4. Active Campaigns/Campaign Content/Dispositions
    5. Connection Object

    8. Opportunities
    9. Payment Arrangement History
    10. Payments
    11. Premises
    12. Rate Changes
    13. Security Deposits
these are few and there are some more..,
    Thanks in Advance,
    Sai.

    Hi Ram,
Use Transaction Code EMIGALL. It will ask for company code. By default Company Code is SAP. If you entered with the SAP you will get all the objects. Then goto menu IS-U Migration-->User Handbook. It will give you details Idea.
    Also Check the following Procedure
You can find detailed documentation of EMIGALL in SAP itself. Use Transaction EQ81 to display it. It provides all the concepts and procedures to work with EMIGALL.
Here are some points about EMIGALL :
    1. It Migrates data Business Object wise
    2. It uses Direct Input Technique
    3. It has more than 100 objects of IS-U
and the steps for implementation goes like this:
1)You have to create a user specially for migration which will have all the authorizations related to migration workbench, BASIS and IS-U
2)You have to create your own company in EMIGALL. There is a default company called SAP.
3)Company SAP contains all the Business Objects
4)You have to figure out what business objects u need and then u have to copy those business objects to ur company from Standard Company SAP
5)Each objects contains more than one structure and each structure can contain more than one fields. The relation goes like this
    Object ---> Structure ---> Field
6)You have to define field rules for each required field of the object. You have to mark "Not required" for fields u don't need
7)After field rules for a given object is set u have to generate load report i.e. actual Direct Input Program which will migrate data. This program is generated on basis of field rules set by u.
8)After the load report is generated u have to prepare an input file (import File) for migration. The import file should be according to structure provided by SAP and must be in binary format. SAP Provides the structure of file according to your configurations. You have to write ur own Data conversion program(in any language) for this task.
9)You take import file as input and migrate the data using generated load program
10)Finally u can check the Migration Statistics and Error Log
    Thanks and Regards,

  • Data Migration from existing legacy to SRM

    Hello All ,
We are preparing for cutover of our SRM implementation.
Version in SRM 5.0 tech scenario - Classic.
The business scenario is Sourcing with Bid Invitation.
At our client's place existing legacy is working where they have many open Bid Invitations.
We are looking for a way to migrate these BI to SRM.
Has anyone done this or similar activity before?
    I saw one thread
    LSMW in SRM
    but was not much helpful.
    Hence new post.
    BR
    Dinesh

Dinesh, since bid invitations are quite a operational document type, i.e. usually the bid invitation has not the character of master data or of a document with a long validity -- contrary to e.g. contracts, long term POs etc., I would generally question this as a valid requirement -- effort/money/time vs. business value.
If you still have enough reasons -- you need to custom build something I suppose. I would start analyzing at creation of a bid invitation (out of sourcing) and look up what exactly is posted where -- via debugging + what's on the tables after creation (BBP_PD). Generally, I would say there is too much dependency on master data residing in SRM, i.e. to create valid bid invitations in SRM you have to create certain master data - now existing only in the legacy system -. As well the 'migrated' bid invitations should be for display only.
I would not touch this - only if there is really a biiiiiig reason to do so. For history/reporting purposes I would try to extract the legacy data into BI instead of moving these things around into the SRM landscape.
