Lenovo Notebook Essential B570e2 some keys are not working

hi can you please help me?  I have a Lenovo Notebook Essential B570e2 and its driving me crazy. it has got a bunch of problems but right now the most important problem is that some keys of the keyboard are not working. so im writing this all using on-screen keyboard, its very frustrating and annoying. the keyboard just started messing up all in a sudden a few hours ago. i dont think its because of dirt beneath the keys because yesterday i was watching a video online and typing on the keyboard at the same time. and the sound of the video would extend/freeze some times when i was pressing a key. not sure how to describe it. can someone please help me? thank you!

Hi renanc93,
Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
I’m sorry to hear that the Keyboard keys are not working as expected in your B570 Laptop, below are the steps to check the issue in the computer:
Remove the battery and any other peripheral device connected to the computer. Hold the power button for 10 seconds and then connect only the AC Adapter and try to turn ON the computer.
Check if the issue is same in “Safe Mode” – Restart the computer keep tapping “F8” key before the Lenovo Logo appears and select “Safe Mode”.
Also check if any external Keyboard is working as expected with the Laptop if it is working fine, the issue is Hardware related, I would Strongly Suggest Calling Technical Support for Assistance as the issue may be hardware related. Click here to open a link where you can select the country and get the exact contact support number. I’m sure they will be a great help.
Hope this helps!!!
Do post us back if the issue still persists.
Best Regards
Shiva Kumar

  • Some Keys are not working on Lenovo G570

    Hello all
I am new here, looking for some help regarding my Lenovo G570.
Yesterday, it was working perfectly, I properly shut is down. I have set a BIOS pasword.
Today, when I switch it on, I was unable to type the pasword becasu some keys were not working. However, I managed to loged in with the help of On Screen Keyboard. After analysing it, I came to know that some keys on numpad includeing 0,2 and on the 2nd line(vertical numerical keys) 1,2,3,4,7,8,9,0 are not working. I tried to re-install the OS but I set a BIOS paswoed containing one of the missing keys.
Please let me know whether it is a software problem or should i take my laptop to some repairing shop?
    Thanks

  • Hp pavilion d4 : some keys are not working

some keys  are not working  as i used it after 4 months gap. do it need hardware replacement or it is due to moisture?

    Hi,
While this could be a hardware issue, it's always worth trying the following.
Shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery.  Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds.  Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.  Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.

    Hi
Recently I installed Windows 8.1 on my laptop (hp pavilion dv6 6115tx entertainment notebook) - lz801pa
Then I installed Visual studio 2013. everything was working perfectly then.
I guess when I changed keyboard option in visual studio to C# 2005, after that some of the keys stopped working.
I also reset that option to default, but the issue is still there.
Down & right arrow keys, right arrow key of num pad, 1-5,8,9,0 keys in the first row(up above qwerty keys row) are not working.
I am able to press indivisually tab & alt, but alt+tab combination is not able to use for switching between windows/apps.
    Please help me.

  • My lenovo ideapad G570 some keys are not working

    Dear Friends,
    Am using Lenovo ideapad G570
from last 2months in my laptop some keys not working  (N,B,Left,Right,Up Arrow and Space bar)
Kindly Suggest me For resolving the issue.

    hi vickydy,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
First make sure this is a hardware concern.
Run an Onscreen Keyboard, by Pressing (Windows key + R) then type in OSK then hit enter
Now on your onscreen Keyboard click on the keys that are not working see if they responding with the Onscreen keyboard.
If the keys responded using the Onscreen Keyboard, Then your Keyboard hardware is bad.
Either you call Technical Support to have them repair the unit in / out of warranty repair OR Ask them where to get the part for it and have the keyboard replaced.
    Hope this helps
    Cheers!

  • Some keys are not working on my Satellite C notebook

since today i have some problems with some keys on my keyboard my Z, \ (left side next to the Z) and my FN key doesnt work (XD i had to copy and paste the Z) but this problem is realy anoying is there a way to fix this?

It is not known to me that single keys repair can be done.
In such case the whole keyboard must be replaced.
I dont know which notebook model and how old it is but it is possible that certain keys are broken.
What you can try is to remove key cap and check if key is dirty and see if there is some contact problem.

  • Some keys are not working, stopped functioning suddenly

    Hi All,
    I am using a t440s laptop and we can call it brand new (using for 3 months so far). Yesterday suddenly key "o" stopped functioning suddenly and I pressed somehow harder to it and it was back again. After a while yesterday night, suddenly some keys stopped functioning. The keys that are stopped functioning are;
"q w e r u ı o p" (one of them is i, as this is a Turkish keyboard. Let me state that no food or liquid spoiled on it or anything like that. Notebook was staying idle at lock screen on the desk.
Restoring, reverting or reformatting is my last chance as this is a critical notebook for me as I use it for my company.
    Thanks in advance

  • Some keys are not working properly

    Hello,
This is my first time having to come on and ask for help. This morning I cleaned the screen and keyboard on my HP Envy laptop while it was turned off. After, the keys wouldn't work properly. The caps key won't work, and some of the keys won't work at all. So, I refreshed and thought that would help set things back in order. But, now Microsoft is asking me to sign in and I can't because the keys don't work properly. Also, I think I made a mistake in refreshing the laptop because now the my finger print won't work with the simple pass on the keyboard. How can I fix this?
Look forward to hearing from anyone who has had this issue, and has a solution.
    Thank you,
    Maureen

  • ThinkPad S540 some keys are not working. Backlight is dead

I have weird issues with my ThinkPad 540 built-in keyboard. Keys [ENTER (BOTH!), Z, C, M, N, , , 9 on numpad) are almost not working. I have to force-press them several times to have a response. This is the sad situation because I'm far away from service center in my counry and I need the laptop daily for professional use. Keyboard backlight also not working so it's almost impossible to work in dark surrounding.  When I was considering to buy this laptop I expected for high-quality product. Now I have almost unusable "brick" of magnesium. Is there any handly solution for this situation?

After disassemblig I found that this is keyboard defect which appears right after warrany period. Need to buy new keyboard for replacement. It seems Lenovo completely destroyed ThinkPad image in my eyes. I will never consider to buy any hardware from lenovo in future.

  • Satellite Pro M50 (PSM55E-001001EN) - Some keys are not work

    Hi all
Ive got a problem with my keyboard on the above model. I originally thought it was just the keyboard so I bought another one and installed it and this one is doing the same.
Problem:- r button and y button not working originally new keyboard not working at all just typing randomly!!
Could this be an internal problem or have I just bought a duff keyboard?
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Tim

    Hi
You mean R and the Y letter dont appear always on the display but only randomly?
Usually such issues are related to the keyboard buttons.
But if the new keyboard didnt solve this problem then an internal issue could be possible.
As Raver suggested it would be interesting to know if this both buttons will function using an external keyboard.
You could also check if the BIOS is up to data and if not, then update it.
In many cases a loose keyboard cable could cause such issue too. So as you see everything must be checked
