LG LM6200
I'm planning to get this model as this is the most affordable I've seen in the 2012 line of LG tvs. Based on the product info I've read, it has the basic features of current tv models. It is 3d capable and has built in WiFi. What else do I need to know about this tv? What can you say about my plan?
Correct Pink, take a step back and breathe.
Sometimes manufacturers just mess up. Rwillen wasn't saying that LG TVs sucked, just 1 of 2 things happened.
1) they had a large batch of TVs that weren't put together properly or
2) they botched up internals (hardware mismatch or a coding problem) for the whole line
ALL Panasonic TVs had fluctuating brightness last year. It varied from TV to TV. But about a couple months after it was first released many people worked with Panasonic to help show and correct the issue. 2 months a beta patch was made and delivered by high end Panasonic employees via SD card update as it had proprietary base code in it (I was a lucky one that got this as I was working with Panasonic). It fixed it completely.
The following month they remanufactured boards with this update flashed in and offered every person that said they had FBr a free visit from a tech to install new boards. Also many that had their TV calibrated were able to have them recalibrated for very little to no cost.
I was initially mad with Panasonic as it was a gorgeous TV with a horrible problem. At first they knew nothing about it and was kind of pawned off. They eventually escalated it and as they reports poured in they started to investigate. then the above transpired.
Overall it really only strengthened my support of Panasonic as I don't expect every company to release every product without some defects. But knowing a company stands behind their products and will eat profits to make things right goes a very long way in my book.
Conversely look at Samsung. They just keep denying any defects are there and try to weasel their way out of everything. This is the reason I don't suggest Samsung to people On these boards. They can and do make some great TVs as long as you get one without a defect. If you do get one with a defect it pretty much takes a class action lawsuit for Samsung to cave in.
So long post made short. LG made a subpar TV (subpar because its not what it could
Be without this defect) in this specific line. Now we see if LG will look into it or just accept they made this 1 subpar product.

LG blu ray players to stream FIOS channels wireless
I am looking to try using a wireless LG blu ray player to stream some channels from FIOS instead of having to purchase additional cable boxes for some bedroom TVs. I can not find the technical requirements I need in a device to get this to work. Is FIOS DLNA compatible? Has anyone found a wireless blu ray player that has had experience with streaming channels from Verizon as is advertised on their website?

The first link contains support information for LG streaming devices. At the bottom of the page it shows the two currently supported Blu Ray players. You would need to do your own evaluations in regards to the wireles. But right now I have for example, Redbox Instant Beta loaded in my Iphone and it streams Via 3G or Wifi.
The Redbox Beta list of players is not final, as the service is being tested.
Not the same as a BD player, but my X box is streaming those 75 channels with an ethernet cable, and I have not tried it with wireless.
Samsung information is also available from Verizon.
I hope this information is helpful. They may not show it but here are Verizon's listed devices that can download the app from the app stores.
