Uh oh! We'd be happy to help koko1964. What model of device are we working with? Are you able to power the device off and back on? If an Android model tablet, try pressing and holding the Power key at the same time as the Volume Down key and see if the device responds.

Tablet Mode stuck in a loop

I just installed the Technical Preview (build 10041) on my Asus Vivo Tab Note 8, but after enabling tablet mode and resuming from sleep the computer has become unusable, it looks like it's stuck in a loop enabling, then disabling tablet mode, even after
restarting the machine it starts happening again straight after logging in.

I can get the Task Manager with the keyboard shortcut, or Run box, so can open the Command Promt and so on. But it doesn't let me open the Notification Pane, or Settings, or even open the Start Menu.
Is there any way to disable tablet mode from the command prompt, or anything else I can do?

can see the process ID for explorer.exe constantly changing in task manager as well.
If it is crashing then it would be losing all state information, so you couldn't do what I suggested about stepping through it using keystrokes. Can you confirm that it is crashing using Event Viewer or Reliability Monitor?
So perhaps a better tack would be to figure out how to disable the automatic recovery that is apparently happening. Then you could restart explorer.exe elevated using Task Manager. However, I'm not sure if the Settings page would still open
then. TBD.

Good idea. I could try using ProcMon to see what changes when I switch modes. I haven't loaded ProcMon on this VM yet so that will be a good thing to do anyway. Even better than "editing the registry" though would be to find out
if PowerShell knows anything about this. Of course it could substitute as our regedit.exe anyway.
Otherwise, I wonder if "Tablet mode" works any differently in Portrait orientation? <eg>
A related test: use Magnifier in its Fullscreen view. Win++ Ctrl+Alt+F and enable full tracking. (Win+Esc exits Magnifier.)

Ellipsis 7 tablet is stuck on downloading updates

My tablet is currently at 4.2.2. I clicked on software update and it says it is downloading updates. This has been going on for 4 hours and nothing is happening. It keeps saying that it is downloading updates. Then I get a message that says "FOTA isn't responding. Do you want to close it?" I say yes and it just continues to run. How do I get this stupid thing to stop or update?

Welcome to the world of the bizarre. Yesterday (Sun) at 1645 hrs. I powered on my Ellipsis 7 (I power it off when it is not going to be in use for a while). Lo and behold, the download begins processing and completes successfully! I have no idea what caused it to suddenly work. I do have a couple theories. First, the download was unable to connect to the required computer so it simply kept trying. Your message tends to support this theory. FOTA wanted to process but couldn't connect. Second, powering off/on causes FOTA to attempt to reconnect to the download computer. I had powered off/on multiple times over that past few days without FOTA going anywhere. Something, external to the Ellipsis got 'tweaked' causing the download to process. This tweak may have simply been an overloaded computer unable to accept new tasks. So, my advice is to power off/on the Ellipsis at various times to get the download to work. Onwards and upwards.

Since the last update my iCloud on my tablet is stuck in update will not let me sign out of it or chande anything how can I stop the upgrade from running. I've tried everything nothing is working.

My Apple iPad is stuck on the update in iCloud will not let me sign out of it or do anything in icloud. How can I get it to stop running. I have tried everything that I have looked up online and nothing works. Every time I put in my apple ID it disables me. Ugg I am frustrated!

Hold in power button for 20 second (no less) Screen will go black. Release. Wait 2 minutes. Press power button briefly to restart.

My zeen tablet is stuck. c510a. It won't respond to my touch.

Docked it this morning. Came back to get it this evening and it won't respond to my touch. The time on the zeen says 7:45 this morning and says charging 83% but it's not.

I have the same problem with Mail on an iPad 2, though the freezing has only occurred in the past few weeks and only when I'm deleting mail (with the Edit function, or swiping to the right, or tapping the trash icon). I had already tried your first solution (closing Mail in the taskbar), and I have just now tried your second (reset with Sleep and Home keys pressed simultaneously). Tried twice (I release both buttons when the white Apple logo appears). But no luck: I tap Edit, then tap each email in the left column to select. The first one or two I want to delete will go into delete mode, but then the whole thing freezes. I've deleted mail like this since last year, so I'm not doing anything wrong.
Whoops! I just tried again and the Edit-then-Delete function worked. Maybe I had to give it a 5-minute rest to get its marbles back in order. If the cure works, you have my heartfelt thanks.
Nope! At least not perfectly. It worked at first and I deleted a handful of mail, but when I tried to delete another dozen, I was able to select them all, but when I hit the delete button on the bottom ("delete-12"), it froze. Then, a minute later, without my doing anything (as I was editing this post), the selected emails properly disappeared. Maybe I'm just trying to work too fast?

Strange tablet/mouse occurence in GIMP, and a menurc question

Hello. I can't seem to be able to use both my tablet's stylus and my mouse to work in unison in the GIMP. What happens is that when I enable my tablet, my mouse is not even recognized in the drawing area. I have to go through the Input Device setup and disable the X devices related to my tablet in order to use my mouse. When my mouse works, my stylus works only like a mouse would; with no pressure sensitivity or anything.
My tablet is a Graphire 4 and I'm running the latest xorg and linuxwacom packages. I used to be able to use these two at the same time on an image, but now I can't do that. What's going on? I'll post anything you guys need that's relevant.
<EDIT>Disabling the "cursor" device in GIMP seemed to let me use both at the same time, with no repercussions. All three devices (stylus, eraser part of stylus, and my mouse) all have independent tool settings like they should, as well! Very weird, I'd say.
On a lighter note, I like to use a different set of tools for tablet work and pixel art; is there a way I can tell GIMP to load a different menurc at startup? The manpage didn't seem to help me with that; only with gimprc(which doesn't even reference tool options or the menurc) and sessionrc (which doesn't seem to be relevant to my issue). Any ideas?

ThinkPad 18382GM is stuck at lenovo log at boot up.

After an auto update the Tablet is stuck at the LOGO at startup.

I have tried all the options in the recovery image menu in hopes that it will boot up normally.

I bought the IdeaPad K1. Three weeks back. it was with 3.1 honeycomb. It use to freez i told my friend and he followed some website and downloded OTA updates and installed one of them went well. Today they added some new update , he tried and now the tablet gets stuck at Lenovo logo and goes infinit restarts...

I have the same problem after I wake up one night. Now my k1 stuck on infiniti loop to reboot. Can someone from Lenovo help?

Acrobat XI Invalid Serial Number After Failed Install

Hello,
We currently have Adobe Acrobat XI on an enterprise license. I went to install this on 3 of our Windows 7 tablets. Prior to my attempt, I removed Adobe Reader XI which is what I always do. After that I started the installer on the machine and entered the key just fine. All 3 tablets got stuck around 96-97% and failed with an error 1935. I then followed the instructions located here:

Following a reboot, I tried to install again and now I am receiving the "Invalid Serial Number" error when trying to click "Next" on the installer. It won't even let me choose install trial and go. The next button does nothing when selecting trial. I tried running the offical Adobe Acrobat Cleaner and the Adobe CS6 cleaner (since Acrobat XI is part of CS6 technically). Both programs found items to delete but following a reboot I'm still receiving the same error. I also have other XI enterprise serials available and none of them work. I have a feeling something happened on the tablets that is causing the installer to think it's the wrong version or type for those serial numbers.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

HELP! My A1-811 keep rebooting itself

I need help! Ajter trying to update to KitKat 4.4.2 manually using this article http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/29931#_ga=1.159508285.1207883840.1437316707 my tablet get rebooting forever. I did everything also I have downloaded the pdf file from Drivers and Manuals Section and did exactly what it says, but the update wont install, just the image with the fallen android and some information like that one from the manual. So after that I just pressed reboot system, and .... nothing. It keeps rebooting itself. Help me is there any chance to fix it? P.S: In the Drivers and Manuals section there are two files for different image files only. I get the WW_GEN, because before trying to update I have checked the last image in my settings, and it was ending with WW_GEN.

Nope the factory reset didnt help What have I done? Only get worse with deleted data!!! The tablet get stuck on the logo and continue to reboot. I have did everything - when the factory was done I have choose then to reboot the system, but that reboot continue on an on... please what to do? P.S: The factory reset was done without the sd card in tablet, if that matters.

For some unknown reason, my tablet is stuck in landscape mode. I have literally checked every thing. It should change when I set it in portrait but doesn't. Can anyone help?

First, and you've probably done this, ensure the screen rotation isn't locked in the quick settings. Also, try turning it off fully (holding the power button down until prompted) and then turning it back on.

S6000 Touchscreen nonresponsive on wake up

New S6000 has all the latest updates. Has Bluetooth keyboard. Upon waking up, the touch screen does nothing. I can navigate with the keyboard but the screen itself is nonresponsive.
Am about to return this item and get an Asus but figured I would give this forum a chance before I retunr it. Any ideas?

I understand your Omni 10 tablet is stuck restarting.
Try holding power to force shut down. Wait a few seconds and turn it back on. If this fails you will want to try a restore or recovery (reset).

just got thenupdate to windows 10. hate it so far but the big problem is i can not download drivers from hp site. on 10 there is no download link. so this tablet is stuck in one way will not rotate. also no audio. ugh it runs slower also and only 2gb left after the long auto &pdate

To get more space - might run the disk cleanup program, and select "remove old windows installations" (or something to that affect). Not sure if that's entirely appropriate, given the nature of WIMBOOT and Win10 - but worth a shot. Also - slowness may be due to some of the items being "compressed" or whatever it is that Win10 is supposed to do, rather than WIMBOOT
