Library gone from itunes

Hi if anyone can assist, I tried to create a new library and now that i go to itunes and click on library(music) nothing comes up. I have no play lists as i did before no music????????? can anyone help

I make regular backups of that ITL file. Usually weekly, more often if I've done a lot of editing or additions to itunes, and ALWAYS before an itunes update.

ITunes library gone from iTunes after re-launching Finder

Yesterday while attempting to force quit an application I by mistake re-launched the finder which consequently meant all my settings on the system were lost(I know,I can't believe how dumb I've been as well) and I was in effect starting again from scratch.When launching iTunes it was completely blank,no library,smart playlists or created playlists.The music however was still intact on my hard drive.I have about 16GB of music on my system and about 49GB free.I decided to drag the iTunes music folder to "Library" in the source list and it copied all roughly 4600 tracks.However after doing this there was only 33GB free space so I deleted the library in iTunes leaving it empty again.I haven't synched my iPod since this happened so everything on it is as before my act of stupidity.I read the post earlier where someone's music went from their hard drive and were recommended to download Senuti to transfer it back from their iPod which I have done,although haven't used yet.Sorry for rambling slightly but I've tried to be as concise as possible.I would massively appreciate any help! Here's what I'd do. Note that this will delete any playlists you have and may clear track ratings, etc.
- confirm that at least one of the iTunes folders has all your tracks;
- drag the other iTunes folder to the Trash (but don't empty the trash yet; if you're worried about accidentally emptying the Trash, drag that iTunes folder to someplace out of the way, but where you won't get confused about which you're working with);
- in the folder you're keeping, drag the iTunes Library and iTunes.xml files to the Trash (again, don't empty the Trash yet)
- launch iTunes; it should be blank now.
- Open the iTunes preferences, go to the Advanced preference and make sure that the iTunes Music Folder location is the iTunes Music folder in the iTunes folder you're keeping
- uncheck the "copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to Library" item
- run the Add To Library command (under the File menu) and select your iTunes Music folder.
That should get all your tracks back into iTunes without duplications (unless duplicates exist in the individual album folders). If it works, then reset the "copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to Library" item for future imports.
Once you've confirmed that all your tracks are back and play correctly, then you can empty the Trash (or delete the extra iTunes folder).

Force Re-Creation Of iTunes Library.itl from iTunes Library.xml?

Can't figure out how to edit a post, so I'm putting this here instead of adding it to "Recovery From Hosed Music Locations - Without Losing Ratings?".
iTunes v9.
It's dawning on me that I can edit "iTunes Library.xml" and fix my hundreds (if not thousands) of broken links there.
But iTunes seems to work out of "iTunes Library.itl".
Seems like there had to be a way to get iTunes to re-create "iTunes Library.itl" from "iTunes Library.xml".

When I did the upgrade it resulted in a factory reset. Now all of my ringtones are gone from iTunes. Anyone have a solution?

When I did the upgrade it resulted in me having to do a factory reset because it was pausing for long periods of time. It went through the backup and all other steps but now all of my ringtones are gone from iTunes, thus the phone. I tried to redownload one I had purchased and it made me purchase it again (I did this as a test), and it said I had purchased it before but still required me to purchase again.
Anyone have a solution/thoughts/help?

Command + Z undoes the last action you did, did you just move those files into that folder?
Use Spotlight to search for the files, or look for them in their original location(s).

My podcast appears to have gone from iTunes

My podcast was working fine for the last 12 months. Yesterday I was contacted by a friend to ask where it's gone from iTunes. I can't find it anywhere now. Here are the URLs:

Your podcast does appear to have been removed from the Store: when this happens an email is sent, so it may havew gone missing or been spam-trapped. It's difficult to see what could cause removal - the only thing which occurred to me is that they might have taken exception to the opening music on copyright grounds: it sounds as if you made it yourself - at any rate it's apparently computer generated, not the soundtrack, but of course the music itself is copyright and shouldn't have been used without clearance. I'm assuming that, since the 'explicit' tags are 'clean' that there is no strong or sexual language in the episodes.
It's often difficult to get a response on this subject from the Store staff, but the address to contact them on is podcasts 'at' apple.com - 'getsupport' is unlikely to help since they are geared to the actual application rather than podcast contents.

Deleting the entry from iTunes on your Mac and redownloading it from the iTunes Store should allow the song to play.

Well the iPod is supposed to be synced from YOUR iTunes music library, if you used other means to put music on there then the iPod is going to sync to only what's on your itunes music library when you connect it.
You need to put the files into itunes.
Far as your other issues, sounds like the drive is dying.

Application gone from iTunes

My Favorite Todo Application (Touchtodo) disappeared from iTunes about a week ago. It was a $1.99 ap and I use it a lot. My concern is if I ever have to reload it, as it's no longer there. There seems to be no updated forum for support, does anybody have any ideas about this or if it's temporary?

First off, back it up to a safe location (the app is in your iTunes Library/Mobile Applications folder).

Sync Notes option GONE from iTunes after ML Update?!?

I upgraded to Mountian Lion
Now in iTunes, under the 'Info' tab for my iPhone, I can no longer see the 'Sync Notes on this iPhone with Notes on this Computer' option.
The checkbox & heading has COMPLETELY gone.
I'm assuming this has something to do with ML now having a native Notes.app but this is of no use to me.
The bulk of my notes on my iPhone were created before iCloud existed. And so they belong to the account 'On my Phone'. So even when turning on iCloud syncing for notes on the iPhone, these old notes do not transition to iCloud (A well known flaw amoungst many users I've seen on here).
Does anyone know how else to Sync notes from an iPhone to a Mac running ML?
Once on the Mac, I can simply turn on iCloud syncing for Notes on the Mac, then drag & drop the Notes from 'On my Mac' to 'iCloud'.

I did what you just said (drag & drop) and ALL of my notes dissapeared off ALL of my devices AND iCloud!!!. Fortunately I had backed up my iPhone 4 iOS 6 and still have all my notes in the iTunes backup file. I restored that file (including my notes) and as soon as phone restarted, it re-synced with the empty iCloud Notes and notes disappeared again from my phone. This is absolutely REDICULOUS!!! And I'm still using Lion with latest iTunes update so I still have Sync Notes option in iTunes, BUT IT DOES NOT WORK!!! Somebody at Apple has been drinking WAY too much.

Airtunes option gone from iTunes - help

have used airtunes for years, no problems whatsoever. all of a sudden the drop down option for remote speakers in itunes has gone and i cant get it back...
- airport has always been set up to join an existing network
- i reset the airport using a paperclip, then used the setup assistant to redo the settings
- when i tell it to join existing network and update i can no longer see it in the airport admin utility
- the lights on the express suggest it has joined the existing network, i.e. if i tun my access point router off then the light on the express flashes amber
things that recently changed
- updated to itunes 7.6
anyone have any suggestions

Same problem but waaaaaay more frustrating
Remote speakers (AirTunes) are missing from iTunes after every reboot now.
I have tried almost everything I can think of.
1) The speakers sometimes reappear during repair permissions.
2) I changed the Dlink DI-624 router channel to 1, the speakers reappeared, but gone again after reboot.
3) I turned off "look for remote speakers" in iTunes advanced preferences
and quit iTunes, and turned them back on again and restarted itunes again and the speakers were there, but gone again after reboot.
etc, etc.
It seems that these solutions don't work again when I try them the next time.
The green light is always on the Airport express,
If the issue was range or dropouts, then I am assuming that it would not stay green
The airport express cannot be freezing up either because without resetting it, it does sometimes come back with a ton of fiddling.
If i unplug it and plug it back in the router logs say that it successfully authenticates to the network (WPA) and gets an IP lease. so it seems to be fine from that end of things
I blame leopard 10.5.2 and itunes 7.6 right now

I have a portable 500gb HD and I use it to put music and other stuff.
Earlier, out of the blue, all of my music from iTunes disappeared, and I tried to put it back by dragging my folder "music" from the external HD to iTunes, but the message "Attempting to copy to the disk Macintosh HD failed. The disk could not be read or written to." appears and nothing happens. Only 40 albums (the same ones every time) go into iTunes before the message appear.
I tried restarting the computer and nothing happened.

This sounds more like a hardware issue, possibly a failing drive if you had mysteriously vanishing files and there are problems writing to your drive.. You could get better support on a forum for your Mac model or at lest one for your operating system version. Have you verified the disk with Disk Utility to see what it reports?

How do I get games for my ipod classic? the clickwheel toolbar has gone from itunes!

I used to be able to buy games for my ipod classic by clicking on apps then clickwheel games, this option has dissapeared from itunes, does this mean I can't get them anymore? or can I get them some other way?

Hmmm. I see. It appears they have removed the Click Wheel Games altogether. I can't find any documentation regarding its removal.
