License Recovery & Python25

My Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro recently stopped working.  After some Internet searching, I found out that I needed to apply the licensing service update.  I was successful in downloading the .zip folder, but when I ran the .exe file, it told me that it couldn't be done because I didn't have the python25.dll file on my computer. I searched my computer and couldn't find the file, but I did see it in the .zip folder.  Don't know what to do next.  Can anyone help so that I can start using my program again?

Test Screen Name, thank you for the additional help tip!  I worked like a charm.  I had downloaded the LicenseRecovery109.zip to my desktop but only extracted the LicenseRecover.exe file from the .zip file.  When I extracted the LicenseRecovery folder from the LicenseRecovery109.zip file and double-clicked the LicenseRecover.exe file, the recovery was a success. I was following the Solution 1 instructions from Error "Licensing has stopped working" | Windows.  I think where I went wrong was that it says to:  "1) Extract the LicenseRecovery109.zip. Important: Use a utility such as WinZip to extract the contents on the zipped file. 2) Double-click LicenseRecover.exe." I probably wouldn't have made this mistake if it had said, "1) Extract the the LicenseRecovery folder from the LicenseRecovery109.zip file."

  • License recovery, Acrobat Pro 9.5 in Windows XP

Most of the discussions about using the license recovery tool are from Mac users.  This is not the case here.  After about 1-1/2 years, Acrobat Pro 9.5.0 suddenly stopped working and displayed the following error message:
Licensing for this product has stopped working.
You cannot use this product at this time.  You must repair the problem by uninstalling and then reinstalling this product or contacting your IT administrator or Adobe customer support for help.
    (148:3)
Using the REPAIR installation from the original disk was of no help.  Uninstalling and then reinstalling Acrobat 9 Pro from the original disk did not solve this problem either.  Using the Adobe license recovery 109 tool did restore usability.  However, now I get a box with an OK button I must click before I can log into any profile.  The box contains a couple of odd characters but nothing readable.
This license is used on only two computers; the other one hasn't exhibited this odd behavior.  It could have been tied to a Windows XP update as I routinely download and install them, but that's also the case with the other computer and it doesn't misbehave in this way.  I have different licenses of Acrobat 9 Pro installed on other computers, and none of them has this problem, including one laptop running Windows 7.

    Jeff,
Thank you for the reply.  Yes - I ran Lavasoft Registry Tuner shortly
before Acrobat 9.5 Pro stopped working properly.  Acrobat is now back to
normal except for the unknown box that appears before the Windows XP log-in
screen.  Clicking OK seems to be all that's needed, and as far as I know
there are no programs that don't function normally.
The following has nothing to do with this topic, but I wanted to tell
somebody at Adobe: the reason I haven't gone to Acrobat 10 (except for the
Windows 7 laptop) is because the extra security (I assume) in Acrobat 10
prevents me from using Fullshot or other screen capture programs to take
pictures of specific parts of a page within an open Acrobat document.  I
have to do this routinely as part of my job as engineering (technical)
    writer.
    Thanks again.

  • Photoshop Elements 6 License Recovery Problem

I have a 64bit HP with Vista Home Premium.  Last year I installed  Elements 6 and in order to get it to run I had to use the License Recovery File.  My network card went out in April of this year and a driver went out also.  They did a point restore to fix the driver problem.  Now when I try to run the License Recovery File to get elements running it only flashes a black screen, sometimes with white lettering and sometimes without.  Is there a way to solve this problem?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Same problem with PSE 6 and a Canon LIDE 80 scanner -- PSE 6 will not recognize either the Canon plug in or even the TWAIN driver installed with PSE 6. Anyone else get PSE 6 to work with a scanner?
p.s. -- installed the new driver (which is the same as the old driver), rebooted, and still nothing. Scanner works perfectly with PSE 4.

Did you receive a private message from Sandeep Singh?    Sandeep is the original author of PSE and he has been developing this product since 1972 AFAIK.  Now before people ask me how did I know this when I wasn't even born, The answer is in the splash screen of PSE13.

  • License error 150:30 Downloaded license recovery, the app doesn't response. Now what?

Recently had to recover mac from Time Machine … all good.
Now can't start Photoshop Elements 8.0. Receiving message:
"Licensing for this product has stopped working. ….. Error 150:30"
Successfully downloaded License Recovery app package from Adobe website. When I launch the License Recovery app nothing happens and it is not responding.
Unsure what to do to resolve this.

Migrating Adobe applications from one system to another does not work.  You need to install using installation files.  If you do not have access to the disks then you might be able to download thru the following page (depends what you need).
    Download and Installation Help -
    https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install.html
You will need the serial number from the disk packaging to activate the installed files.  You might be able to find this thru your Adobe account online if you registered the software previously.

  • License Recovery Tool?

    Hi,
After migrating all my apps and documents from an old Mac Book Pro to a new one 2 weeks ago, my Lightroom 4 works fine but InDesign and PhotoShop insist that the licensing has stopped working.
After trying to find a phone number for Adobe customer service, I frustratedly searched around online until I found the recommendation to use the License Recovery tool.
Ok, so I downloaded that but there are 3 of them: mac_install_11.6.1; mac_install_lima and mac_install_lucknow
Which do I use on my Mac Book Pro running system 10.9.3?
Why are there 3 and why aren't there any instructions?
And, most infuriatingly, why is there no PHONE NUMBER for reaching an Adobe tech support person? I paid good money for the software. Where's the support??
    Thanks,
    Trish

I'm pretty sure your problems are related to your trying to migrate your files from one Mac to another. Migration does not work with Adobe products because too many supplementary files are located in too many locations. Not all of them are moved properly with migration.
    (1) You first need to clean your installation and remove all the Adobe files installed. Use the Adobe Cleaner tool:
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
    (2) Download a clean install file for the files you're trying to install using these links:

  • License recovery launcher no longer supported?

Hi, I had Creative Suite on my old computer and need to transfer it over to my new computer. Upon tranfer I receive error message: 6 that licensing has stopped working , so I have downloaded the license recovery software and when I launcher the license recovery launcher it has the error message that it can't launch because it is no longer supported.  Does anyone know which is the best method to use when running from OSX 10.9?

You should just install the program from scratch on your new computer, rather than relying on an Apple transfer process which will invariably miss something and cause Licensing to stop working, as you have found.
I would uninstall all the Adobe software you have transferred, if that is possible, then run CC Cleaner, then install the software from your media or download links like you did on the old computer.  If you don’t have media or download links for it, anymore, then most Adobe software is available by searching at ProDesignTools:  http://www.prodesigntools.com/
You will need to activate the software with you existing serial numbers or CC-login and update it to whatever the current version is.
Adobe licenses the software to run on up to two computers and depending on the version you may be able to run it in trial mode on the new computer for a few days, before deactivating on the old computer, just to make sure it’ll work.

  • License recovery

    Greetings,
I have bought an family license for iWork at best buy a few years back. I have an old macmini that is going to serve as homework tool for the kids. I wanted to install the iWork there for them, but can't find the original CD. Can't download from the App store, for it runs Mac OS 10.5.
I have it currently installed on my mac book pro. Is there a way to recover the license and media CD?
    Thanks!

Thanks it worked! But FYI, a little differently than you described. My MBP is running 10.7 and there was no library support under users, just at the HD. I had however, to copy a couple of files from HD>Library>Preferences:
"com.apple.iWork09.plist" and  "com.apple.iWork09.Installer.plist" . There is were the licensing info seems to be stored.  There is a similiar issue with those that had the iWork 9 trial version and then installed from the DVD of app store. In that case these same files, installed by the trial versrion, need to be deleted. So I figured they also need to be copied to make it work.  So I combined your info witht the one here (http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3098) and voila!
    Thanks again!

  • Cisco works 3.1 license recovery

    Hi,
I am using cisco works lms 3.0. I want to install LMS in new high performance server.
The license file gor from cisco earlier has been lost.
Please help, how to get license file for new server.
    Regards,

Copy the *.lic files from NMSROOT/etc/licenses on the working LMS 3.0.1 server to the new LMS server.  Note: you will have to decomission the old server as you are only licensed to have one copy of LMS running at a time.

  • License Recovery after migration

    Hi gang,
Just set up my new iMac. Used Migration Assistant to move apps over, but my CS4 apps won't open on my new Mac.
I followed the steps in Solution 2 here: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/error-licensing-stopped-mac-os.html but once I entered my password in the last steps, I got this:
    Password:
      File "/Volumes/LicenseRecovery 11.6.1/LicenseRecovery/LicenseRecoveryLauncher.app", line 1
SyntaxError: Non-ASCII character '\xfe' in file /Volumes/LicenseRecovery 11.6.1/LicenseRecovery/LicenseRecoveryLauncher.app on line 1, but no encoding declared; see http://www.python.org/peps/pep-0263.html for details
    Cornelis:~ danperkins$
I'm wondering if it's not working because those steps are for OS 10.7 and I'm on 10.8. I went to that python.org link, but I'm in way over my head at this point. Anybody know an easier way to get this issue resolved? It's a shame this isn't easier. Any help (especially clear, easy, idiot-proof instructions) is welcome.
    Thanks,
    Dan P.

Yeah, I'm starting to think that's a better approach. Always good to have fresh software
It's frustrating though, because I'm pretty sure the last time I went from one mac to another I was able to migrate all of my software with no issue. Oh well.
THIS raises another question though. I feel rather dumb in asking it too, but here goes. When I purchased CS4, I was upgrading my CS3. I no longer have CS3 discs. Can the CS4 discs install on a computer that doesn't have CS3 on it? Does CS4 need to see CS3 was on there to know it's ok for me to have this software?
AND, what's the best way to uninstall the versions I migrated over before installing the new ones?

I've seen a lot of Terminal will not accept password posts on the forums, and I have a funny feeling that the answer to them is what I discovered: When Terminal gives a blinking cursor you must press enter(or return) before it will accept the password. SImple? Yes. Obvious? Not really
