Licensing renewal for CS4

I currently have CS4 and tried to load this onto my new mac 10.9.5 Mavericks. The indesign component won't open, error 5. Says the licensing has expired. When I go to download the licensing renewal the new computer doesn't trust the source even though its Adobe says I have to go through app store. Can someone direct me to a link that will work so I can use indesign on my new computer. Photoshop and illustrator works ok.
Alternatively I could upgrade to CS6 is there somewhere I can do this with minimal cost as I am a student?

Ok, I think video tutorials are best. They take no more than 3-10 minutes of your time, and you can replay then if you missed anything.
Lynda.com has the best. if you afford a subscription, you have access to the full library.
So lets start with the Finder (10.7 but still good) and when you are done, there are Mavericks related tutorials in the list to the right.

After this basic one, you can decide what else you want to learn.

Dear Team,
One of our clients have their ASA5520-AIP-K9 License expired.
I am doing license renewal for the first time and would like to have an opinion if this is the correct way.
I will download the signature update E4 Signature Update S773 (IPS-sig-S773-req-E4.pkg) from Cisco website and install it on both the Firewalls. I have also attached the snapshot of Firewalls at Primary and Back up sites.

How do I check license key for my copy of CS4?

With the recent announcement of the new upgrade policy and the issues I have read about regarding upgrade copies of Photoshop
puchased through Amazon, how can I verify my license key for my copy of CS4 that I purchased from Amazon will accept an upgrade
copy of CS5. My copy was not purchased through Marketplace.

Chances are, if the software activated successfully your serial number will be accepted in the upgrade process, but I believe you have to call Adobe customer support to verify it for certain.

My computer with a licensed copy of CS4 died. I want to install it on my new computer. I cannot deactivate CS4 on my old computer, because it no longer runs, and I no longer have it.

I want to install my licensed copy of CS4 (from the CD--Windows version) onto a new computer that I recently purchased. My OLD computer died in July. I cannot deactivate the CS4 software on that computer. It has now been gutted (because a local tech guy was trying to fix it, but he couldn't) and I no longer even have the computer. So I would like to transfer that license to my new computer.
I have been able to "install" the software from the CD, but it doesn't completely "work". It looked like everything was OK initially but it won't recognize certain keystrokes, etc. and is not functional, which I figure is the software's way of saying "too many installs on this license."
So now what do I do...is there any way I can get "permission" to install this so it will work?

I doubt the license is affecting the performance - it might be a case of the software being too old for the machine.
In any case, you can contact Adobe support thru chat and have them reset your activation count to eliminatre your doubts regarding the license.

How to Package Photoshop Extension for cs4/cs5 with manifest.xml

Hello,
tl;dr: How can I package my extension for both cs4 and cs5 in a way that respects the extension's window geometry?
I have a panel that specifies window geometry in it's manifest.xml. When the panel is installed into Photoshop's panels/ folder, the geometry gets ignored, so I'm trying to package the panel as an extension to be installed via the Extension Manager. I have run into different problems for each CS version. I've read quite a few pdfs about the Extension Manager, UCF command line packaging, etc, and have not been able to find a solution that works for both platforms.
My understaning
My trial and error research has lead me to understand that the extension's files must eventually end up in the (mac) /Library/Application Support/Adobe/<CSversion>ServiceManager/extensions/ directory. In CS5, if the extension's folder contains a manifest.xml file (ex: /extensions/GuideGuide/CSXS/manifest.xml) that specifies window geometry, Photoshop will respect that window geometry when the panel opens. However, in CS4, this is not enough. From my tests, Photoshop CS4 doesn't seem to do anything with the manifest.xml file. Instead, I had to modify /Library/Application Support/Adobe/CS4ServiceManager/ServiceManifest.xml and add my extension to it's contents. Once I did this, Photoshop CS4 launches my panel and respects it's window geometry.
The problem with this is that it's a manual installation. I can't ask my users to dig around in their system files to install my panel. In addition, since it's unsigned using this method, it won't work if they're not flagged for debugging. I've started exploring using the Extension Manager, but I have run into problems that I cannot find ansers in the few pdfs about packaging that I've been able to find.
CS5 Problems
If I use the UCF command line tool, I can package and sign my file. It installs fine and does what I want. However, using this method, I haven't been able to find a way to specify the author and description that shows up in the Extension Manager.
CS4 Problems
The UCF command line tool doesn't appear to make packages that can be installed by CS4, and I haven't been able to find one that is compatable. I've had to result to using the Extension Manager to package my extension based on a .mxi file. The problem I have here is that installing files this way limits me to putting them in the /panels directory, which then causes the panel to ignore the indow geometry. Is there a way with an .mxi file to install in the /Library/Application Support/Adobe/<CSversion>ServiceManager/extensions/ directory and modify the /Library/Application Support/Adobe/CS4ServiceManager/ServiceManifest.xml file?
There must be, because Kuler and other extensions are installed there.

Your extension is a CSXS extension. For CSXS extension it's introduced in Extension Manager 2.1. (You can download Extension manager 2.1 from http://www.adobe.com/exchange/em_download/em20_download.html)
In Extension Manager CS2.1 only MXP package is supported. In Extension Manager CS5 CSXS extension must be packaged by ZXP format. So you have to generate two packages for CS4(mxp) and CS5(zxp)
For CS5, you can use ucf.jar to generate the zxp package.
For CS4, you have to create an MXI file and package it by Extension Manager 2.1 to mxp package. Here is a sample CSXS mxi file:

We do not have a license requirement for BeehiveOnline as this is a service provided by oracle for Oracle customers, partners etc. to allow them to work more efficiently with Oracle. It is not a system that the customer can control as the groups are maintained by the Oracle,contact.
We rely on the normal terms and conditions that all users sign up to when they create an oracle.com website account.
So in short - it is a free-to-use service licensed under the same agreement as the normal oracle.com websites acount.

Can I transfer my educational license of PS CS4 to another computer?

I was provided with an educational license of PS CS4 some time ago, which I installed in my old computer running Mac OSX 10.6. Now I am changing of computer, running Mac OSX 10.8. I tried to install my license in my new computer, without having deactivated it in my old computer, but I had to cancell the installation because it required Adobe Air. When I entered the user license in the set-up installer, everything went ok. After having installed Adobe Air, I tried to install the license in my new computer, but I had not the choice of installing PS CS4. Then, I deactivated my license from my first computer and I tried again, but no option, neither to install nor to deinstall is available at the set-up installer.
I am wondering if this problem is a consequence of not having deactivated my license from my first computer or of the impossibility to transfer an educational license between computers. If the former, what can I do to solve it? If the latter, will I have any problem if I buy a new license and try to install it in my new computer, as a consequence of having tried to install unsuccessfully another license previously?

Finally, I have been able to deinstall the remaining components because I have seen the Adobe deinstaller in Utilities. Once I have deinstalled, I have tried to reinstall the software again. The CD asked for the license number, everything went ok, but the issue came in the middle of the installation when I got the following message:

Currently there's no limit and no fee for license renewals. In the past, license renewal had been stopped for some time though, which made a lot of people in this board very unhappy, but hopefully this won't happen again...

ASA CSC License renewal

Hi!
I have a gneral Question concerning a CSC Renewal for a SSM Module. The License will expire in Mid-October but I already have bought a renewal.
If I register the PAK on Ciscos Site today does the new license counts from today or when the old license is has finally expired.
If it would start counting from today I would waste some time of my previous license.
Does anybody know?

If you have got a license file with you as well, which you can possibly download from cisco.com and try to open that with a notepad you will see the start date and the end date.
That will have a start date from when the previous license expires.
So you will not be losing a single day in this case

What Laptop for CS4 editing?

I'm looking into editing in Premiere Pro CS4 on a Laptop machine using the Matrox Video for Windows (VFW) software codecs to edit offline. I need to be able to perform multicamera editing with up to 4 cameras and do basic editing on a timeline. We have 2 Axio LE systems at the office and we are setting up a laptop system so that we can edit offline at home. Then when we return to the office we can just bring the project files from the laptop onto a Axio for further editing.
I have a couple of questions such as; what computer should I get with what video card? I know matrox has a few but which one in particular is recommended? I don't just want the minimum requirements. We use M2T files for our editing that only work in matrox projects. Will they work using the VFW codec for CS4? Will I need a separate hard drive for video files, what kind, speed and connection will I need? Firewire, what? I understand what the minimum requirements are but what do you recommend? I absolutely need a video card that can give me some preview out of the computer.
Also with the CS4 license, if I put our existing software on the laptop will we have any authorization problems. Only one of the computers will be in use at a time. Will I have to buy 2 new CS4 to CS5 upgrades when I'm ready to upgrade CS5 or only 1?

One license allows installation on two machines. If you want to install on a third machine, you need another license.
