Life Years and Retirement Date in Fixed Assets
I am doing Asset conversion and the client has to enter life in years for all assets and retirement date for some. fa_mass_additions table doesn't have provision for these fields. Also, the client has only 1 book, so default life in years is selected for all and I have to change that after conversion. Can anyone please help me how do I change the life years after conversion of the assets (manually not feasible) and also how do I import the retirement date for the assets.
Thanks.
My Impression was that only upgrade to 11.5.10 and upwards will deliver this functionality. Can you please give the patch number which fix this problem?
thanks,

How to calculatee Dep manually and how to update fixed assets register
Hi Gurus,
I have a issue like Asset vale is Rs. 1000 Dep % is 1st year 35% 2nd year 15%3rd year 15% 4th year35% for 4 years .if buys another asset in addtion to old asset Rs.500 the depreciation is same has earlie said percentage . my clients wants to post this depreciation manually.and how to update fixed assets register.
Regards,
Ssriram.Hi
Depreciation terms are applicable to the entire asset (not for individual transactions). If you want to have different terms, you may create the additions as Sub-asset (Tcode AS11) to the main asset and enter depreciation terms.

How you will see reports last year and till date reports and compare?
How you will see reports last year and till date reports and how you will compare?
sridharHi.
This you can achieve at query level.
I have few question.. First let me know how many KFs you have in the query and based on what characteristic you want to compare the KFs.
Let me assume that you want to compare "SALES" KF for the last and current year.
1) Add the "SALES" KF to the Query.
2) Rename it as "SALES - Prior Year"
3) Copy the above KF and rename the new KF as "SALES - Current Year"
4) In the "SALES - Prior Year", add the date (say, Calendar Date, Fiscal Period, etc.) as per yr requirement. Keep offset as "-1"
5) Do the same for "SALES - Current Year" . No offset.
6) Now create a new formula to find the difference between "SALES - Prior Year" and "SALES - Current Year" .
Hope you got some idea!!
Let me know if anything more is required.

Reporter be used on FA module? If so, how can this be done?Hi
As there is no reports available for Fixed Asset Module, u have to develop by taking tech help.
Or else u can use crystal reporter instead.

Infotype 0041 - Issue regarding entry date, leave date and retire date
Hi experts out there,
I'm trying to achieve information concerning:
1. Entry date
2. Leave date (employee has resigned or will resign) -> Last day of work
3. Retire date
4. Last day of pay
Can I get this information from infotype 0041?
Another problem I have is if I do a <i>Pre-Hire Action</i> (Tcode: <b>PA40</b>) and enter a future date for a new hired employee then I cannot find the corresponding record in PA0041. Do I do something wrong?
Any advise would be very appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.
/hwHadi,
You can get that information from Infotype 0041, but it depends if the user that executed the action entered the <b>date type</b> and corresponding <b>date</b> when reached infotype 0041, if he/she didnt so, it just wont be there. It is not entered automatically.
"<i>It's actually not the answer of my questions because I've been wondering why I cannot find the corresponding record of a Pre-Hire Action (TCODE: PA40) in PA0041 (regardless of if I use SE16 or function modules)"</i>
You will find the records of the actions that were excuted for the employee in infotype 0000 (table PA0000). Infotype 0041 is used to store special dates for the employees (such as date of hiring, next promotion and the like), but it is up to the user if they are stored or not.
Hope that helps -
Here's the original problem
http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/890221?esab=a&s=&r=2&as=s
It seems to have finally been fixed in firefox 22 (or 21). I'd love to know what the original cause of the problem was and whether it was fixed by firefox or OS XI dont think any bugs were filed like this, likely something Apple fixed.

Purchase Order and Fixed Asset Module.
Hi all,
I want to print my purchase order of fixed asset for record purposes. But the thing, I can't link purchase order or any of A/P documents to my fixed asset.
Meaning, if A/P invoice has been added into the system, it will not update my fixed asset master data.
Therefore, I have to use PO for printing, since there's no way to print Fixed Acquisition as a document. By doing this, i need to maintain both Item Master Data and Fixed Asset Master Data with Fixed Asset items, which i find tedious.
Is there a solution for this, like perhaps there's a way to copy info from PO to FA acquisition, or Posted A/P Invoice that contains Fixed Asset item will be linked to FA Acquisition, or perhaps there's a way to print FA Acquisition (like a PLD) that i am not aware of?
Please do help.
Thanks upfront!
Rgrds,
Kevin
Edited by: Kevin Lau Sieh Huo on May 20, 2008 7:25 AMHi Kevin,
I am afraid to inform you that the print layout function is not
supported for Fixed asset transactions such as acquisition.
As you mentioned, if you want to use it as PO document, you will need to create PO in business one since no integration is realized between Purchasing in business one and acquisition in Fixed asset addon.
If you think this will have critical impact on your business process, please post your requirement in our SAP Business One Product Development Collaboration.

Current Year and Previous Year (derived) data comparison
Scenario:
Dimension Table for Date:
-Current Year
-Previous Year
-and other date related fields
Fact Table:
-Sales (contains current year sales depending on the filter set)
*Filter on Year
Would anyone know how will I create a measure for Previous Year Sales?
So that whenever my report shows the current year (for example: 2009) data of my sales, I can also have a column that would also display the previous year data and it will automatically know that it would display the previous year data of the Current year displayed in my report.
Also, how to derive the percentage change of this 2 columns.
Year: 2009
Branch --- Current Year Sales (Sales from Fact table) 2009 --- Previous Year Sales 2008???
I want to add the Current Year Sales And Percentage Change of Sales in the Business Model/Mapping Section. so that it would be available in the presentation layer of Oracle Answers.
Thanks.
Edited by: user12074468 on Oct 16, 2009 4:38 PMUse column filters. Click on the fx button on your Sales column. Click on the Filter button. Now go to the Time.Year column you have and click on it. When the filter window comes up, click on Advanced and convert the filter to SQL. Now insert the Current Year column so that you have Time.Year = "Current Year" Click "OK."
Get another Sales column and put it in your workspace. Follow the above procedure except this time use th Previous Year column.
Now you have two Fact columns, one that filters for the Current Year and one that filters for your Previous Year.
Now for your variance, click on one more column and place it in your workspace. Click on the fx button. This time click on the "Column" button. You will see a list of your columns. From this, create the (Current Year)-(Previous Year)/(Previous Year)*100.00. In the Data Format tab, change the format to percentage.
You also have the option of creating the above calculations in the BMM layer too. -
Dear All,8
I cannot import fixed asset to SAP Business One ( Hanna) PL8, the following message appear
The Remaining life of fixed asset for depreciation area GAAP is incorrect
how i can solve this issue ?
Regards,
Abdualla Fatayerthe formalla is :
remaining useful life = ( date of fixed asset that will be imported to SAP - starting depreciation date)\30 day.
and the result from this equation is subtracted from useful life of fixed asset.
note:
starting depreciation date =Dec 31 from the year that customer acqustion fixed asset.
example:
the capitalization date of an asset is 5/2/2012
I will consider starting depreciation date will be 31/12/2012
I will import the fixed asset on 1/1/2014
asset useful life is 80 Month.
then i will use the equation above to calculate remaining useful life

How to create crystal report for fixed assets
Hi,
I am beginner to SAP B1. I have to create crystal report on fixed assets. for the following fields I have to get data.
Fixed Asset,
Cost of Fixed asset,
Disposal of fixed asset
Scrap of fixed asset
Additional cost on fixed asset
Fixed asset cost after additional cost
Rate of fixed asset –Depreciation item cost - Percentage
Depreciation of fixed asset on item cost
write-up cost on fixed asset –write-up
Rate of fixed asset-Depreciation on write-up cost --percentage
Depreciation of fixed asset on write -up cost
Net Book value of fixed asset.
your help here is appreciated.
Thanks,
ChallaHi,
Actually they are not going to standard reports as Revaluation amount we are creating User defined fields and that needs to be fetched to the report. As well they want original cost, depreciation original cost, Revaluation amount and depreciation on revaluation separately..
As per my understand system will provide one cost and the depreciation on that.
So, can somebody help me in guiding me..
Thanks in advance.
Thanks,

Fixed assets addon - question about items...
Hi,
Does an asset item has necessarily to be inventoried ?? If so, this is not logical to see them in the Audit Report.... what do you think about that ?
thanks,
LuceHi Luce,
Stock Audit report is for all stock items which can be found in 'Inventory-> Item Master Data' in the company.
When you define a new fixed asset in fixed assets module, Financials -> Fixed Assets -> Fixed Asset Master Data, the fixed assets will not be shown in stock audit report because the asset is not a item in item master data.
When you define a assets class from Administration ->Setup -> Fixed Assets -> Define Asset Classes, the asset classes are defined as items and appear in the item master data. Consequently, some items in your system represent asset classes. Using items enables Fixed Assets to be integrated easily with the Purchasing and Sales modules in subsequent versions of Fixed Assets. This integration means that you can, for example, purchase assets using the purchase order and incoming invoice processes.
If you manage the fixed assets on assets level, not classes level, there will be no stock transactions for these assets classes and the assets classes will not be shown in stock audit report.
On the other hand, if you make some stock transaction on these assets classes in Business One core module, the assets classes will be shown in stock audit report.
I hope this anwsers your question.

Hi All,
I am uploading data for fixed assets using LSMW with bapi -
business object - BUS1022
Method - FIXEDASSET_CREATEINCLVALUES
Message Type - FIXEDASSET_CREATEINCLVALUES02
According to project settings group asset and group asset subnumber are mandatory fields for depreciation area 15. When i am running the lsmw i am getting the error
"DEPRECIATIONAREAS-GRP_ASSET ("Group asset") is a required entry field in depreciation area 15. The field was not supplied with data when the BAPI was called."
Please help me how to solve the problem...
I am copying the lsmw for which group asset and group asset sub number were not included and i am adding those two fields in my lsmw and i am not able to upload the data because of the error. Previously these two fields were not mandatory and LSMW was working fine.

Good Morning,
Could someone please comment on whether the SAP B1 fixed assets add-on would accommodate the following two issues, which one of our Accountants has requested?
(1) We are introducing a restoration provision policy that creates a restoration asset and could increase/ decrease the book value of this asset on a yearly basis. I am looking into the practical issues of booking this and whether the SAP fixed asset register can cope with regular changes in the value of a restoration asset (both up/down).
(2) Adding in terminal/residual values for existing assets.
Thankyou,
regards
KellyHi Kelly
This response may be a little late, but I hope it helps.
The SAP Fixed Assets add-on is very thin, not very deep, and very European (both vernacular and accounting). For some US clients, it may not work because of shortcomings with GAAP and/or Federal Tax compliance. I have known this for several years.
SAP asked me to develop a full-featured Fixed Assets addon several years ago. I have been in the Fixed Assets commercial software business for over 30 years, and developed the solution now offered by Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains). Our SAP Business One add-on product is now available for both Versions 2007 and 8.8. It is written using the SAP Business One SDK, so it integrates fully with SAP Business One and has the same look-and-feel.
From a function-feature perspective, it is desinged to exceed the accounting functionality of mid-market products such as FAS (from Sage), QBE, and even Dynamics GP. It also provides considerable capabilities for managing Assets (Maintenance Contracts and Service Requets, Lease Accounting and Tracking, Physical Inventory, Custodial Control, Component Assets, Property Tax, etc.).
The respondant in February was correct - with the SAP addon you can do what you asked, but you have to jump through a hoop to do it. With our B1-FAM addon, you not only can do the things you need, and do them in a very straightforward manner, but will have choices reagrding the best way to do them. Plus, you wil have a comprehensive solution that works as it is supposed to in the US.
Feel free to vist our website at www.B1FixedAssets.com.
Best of luck
Joe Lewis -
